大學의 漢文敎育科 敎育課程의 分析- 中·高等學校 漢文科 敎育과의 連繫性을 중심으로-

The ultimate goal of Classical Chinese education is to train Classical Chinese teachers for middle and high schools. In order for this goal to correspond to Classical Chinese education in middle / high schools, curricula of these two should match. The contents of Classical Chinese education in middle / high schools include Chinese characters, phrases, short sentences(including grammar), proses, poems, and practical words in Chinese characters. Currently departments of Classical Chinese education establish lectures such as 'Chinese Character Science' and 'History of Chinese Characters' for further understanding of Chinese characters. Other factors have their necessary lectures. Most lectures conducted in departments of Classical Chinese Education meet the level of Classical Chinese education in middle / high schools. It appears that in Classical Chinese education there is a very close correspondence between middle / high schools and universities. Lectures for subject matter and pedagogy are mostly the same as lectures for the subject matter and lectures for pedagogy. The only thing that is different is the title of the lecture. For instance, lectures have additional 'teaching method', 'education' or 'instruction' at their titles. These lectures simply apply education technology or teaching method to lectures of Classical Chinese. Consequently, these lectures do not have independent fields of study and contents. This is due to lack of pedagogy in Classical Chinese. Classical Chinese education has been recently attracting people's notice. The study, however, is mostly focused on grammar and education procedure, and failed to specify various fields of subject matter. Therefore, researchers of Classical Chinese pedagogy should avoid imitating general pedagogy; they need to develop educational subjects and methods independently, based on Classical Chinese itself. 한문교육과의 궁극적인 교육목표는 ‘중등학교 한문과 교사의 양성’이다. 이러한 한문교육과의 목표가 중·고등학교 한문 교육과 연계되기 위해서는 중·고등학교의 학습 내용과 한문교육과 교육과정이 일치하여야 한다. 중·고등학교에서 필요한 漢文科 知識의 內容은 주로 漢字, 成語, 短文(文法 포함), 散文, 漢詩, 言語生活의 漢字語로 집약된다. 현행 한문교육과의 교육과정에서 한자의 지식과 관련된 교과목으로 ‘漢字學’ 및 ‘漢字의歷史’를 개설하였다. 성어, 단문, 한시, 산문, 소설 등에도 각각의 필요한 교과목을 개설하였다. 대학의 한문교육과 교육과정에 개설된 다수의 교과목은 중·고등학교 한문과에서 요구되는 수준의 교육내용에 충분히 도달되어 있다. 따라서 중·고등학교와 대학의 한문교육과의 연계성은 매우 밀접한 것으로 드러나 보인다. 교과교육학 영역으로 개설된 과목들은 대부분 교과 관련 과목과 교육 관련 과목을 제목만 바꾸어 교과교육학이라는 새로운 영역으로 옮긴 것이다. 그 예로 교과 관련 과목들은 서예, 한자, 한문 영역에 ‘교육방법’이나 ‘지도’를 추가하거나, 한문문법, 한시, 산문, 한문소설, 한문비평, 경학 등의 전공 영역에 ‘지도’나 ‘교육’을 덧붙였다. 이들 과목은 한문학의 교과목에 교육공학이나 교육방법을 단순하게 적용시킨 것이다. 따라서 이들 교과교육 영역의 교과목은 아직 독자적인 자기 연구 영역과 내용을 갖추지 못했다. 이는 한문과 교과교육학의 부진에서 비롯한다고 볼 수 있다. 한문과 교과교육은 최근에 들어서 관심의 대상으로 떠오르고 있지만, 대부분 교육과정이나 문법 등에 그 연구가 치우쳐 있고, 다양한 교과교육 영역을 특성화하지 못하였다. 따라서 교과교육학의 연구자들은 일반 교육학의 연구 내용을 맹목적으로 따르기 보다는 한문과에 입각해서 독자적으로 교육적 주제와 방법을 개발해야 할 것이다.

We now live in a world to communicate in English as Lingua franca. And thus, most Korean universities, if not all, emphasize English education, and are making preparations for globalization. Against this backdrop this paper is intended to compare and analyze two models: integrated model of 4 skills and each skill model such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and suggest interpretation & translation pedagogy approach. Previous researches before the 1970s focused only on teaching each skill separately in acquiring a language. However, nowadays most of the universities are employing the integrated model like reading and listening, writing and speaking in the classroom. It shows that 2 skills or 4 skills methods are superior to 1 skill, and language acquisition is based on learning them simultaneously. On the ground of this fact, this paper investigated liberal arts courses for general English at four universities in Korea and suggested a pedagogical model applicable to translation and interpretation pedagogy.

본 연구는 Patricia S. Campbell이 고안한 세계 음악 교수법(World Music Pedagogy)을 적용하여 예비 교사들을 대상으로 교수법적 의미를 탐색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 달성하기 위해, 연구자는 사례 연구를 연구방법으로 채택하였다. 연구 참여자는 초등음악교육전공 4학년에 재학 중인 예비 교사들(N = 20)로 구성되었다. 교수법의 의미를 탐색하기 위해 선정한 제재곡은 <Chicitios pero Picos>이다. 연구 참여자들은 2024년 1학기동안총 15주에 걸쳐 세계 음악 교수법을 학습 후 개인 면담과 학급 토론에 참여하고 자기 성찰지를 제출하였다. 수집된데이터를 분석하여 도출한 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 타문화에 대한 이해와 공감의 폭을 넓혀준다. 둘째, 감상, 연주, 창작 영역간 통합을 통한 학습자의 능동적 참여유도와 창의성을 증진시킨다. 셋째, 창작 단계에서 음악적 결과물에 대한 성취감을 증대시킨다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 초등학교 음악수업에서 현장 교사들이간학문적 영역과 감상, 연주, 창작 영역을 단계별로 통합하여 체계적으로 지도할 수 있는 세계 음악 교수법을 다문화음악교육의 교수법적 틀로써 적극 활용하기를 기대한다. The purpose of this case study was to surface pre-service teachers’ perceptions of World Music Pedagogy(WMP) as designed by Patricia S. Campbell. Study participants(N = 20), who were enrolled in the Elementary Music Learning and Teaching Methods course, engaged with the pedagogical theory of WMP and learned a representative musical piece in the Cumbia of a coastal musical genre, <Chicitios pero Picos>. They participated in interviews, class discussions, and submitted reflection papers to share the pedagogical meaning from their perspectives. Findings centered around (a) expanding one’s understanding of global musical cultures and traditions; (b) encouraging one’s active participation and creativity via the content integration of music appreciation, performing, creating and interdisciplinary areas; and (c) maximizing one’s learning achievement from the creating stage. These findings strengthened the significance of the application of WMP to a diverse range of music genres around the world when in-service elementary teachers organize world music lesson plans.
JIGSAW 협동학습법을 활용한 교양 수업에서의 회계교육 사례

This paper reports the case of utilizing JIGSAW cooperative learning at the accounting class in university general education. We divided the 48 students into 7 groups, and gave them the roles like stock holder, banker, CEO, laborer, etc. The expert question is that “If the prices of inventory assets changed at the end of the fiscal year after you had bought them in the middle of that year, what prices will you report for those assets in the financial report?” This question is basically concerned with the measurements of the assets. In the conceptual framework of IFRS, chapter6 deals with this problem. They describe various measurement bases and discuss factors to be considered when selecting a measurement basis. In addition to this basic framework, the students have different roles, which can make various perspective of the answer. We anticipate there will be debates for making accounting standards in their home team. To persuade another people, they need to think critically and communicate effectively. And in their expert team, the students should think creatively and cooperate with their members to make an alternative for their interests. We think the method of this paper is quite effective way for fulfilling the purpose of general education in university. Our paper contributes to the accounting pedagogy. While this field is very important for all the accounting professors and students, little papers report the practice. We hope this paper stimulus the interests on the class affairs where we are stand on.

The educational curriculums for training geography teachers in colleges of education across Korea have changed steadily since the 1990`s. Generic educational theories and practices need to be further developed and specified to meet the demands from individual discipline courses. Interdisciplinary education has become a unique field of teacher education curriculum along with the academic attention from the educators concerned. This study attempts to propose a new model of geography teacher education curriculum based on the interdisciplinary pedagogy. The model includes general educational theories and practices, interdisciplinary learning, and the speciality in geography teacher education program. It is to improve and excel the quality of general education and secondary schooling in disciplinary instruction and curriculum both. The study also suggests that the interdisciplinary education should be flexible to practice and open to change academically and pedagogically. Finally, this study promotes further studies and comprehensive research on the interdisciplinary education and the study courses for better geography teacher education in a college of education.
한국 고등 교양교육과정에서 무용수업의 효과적인 통합방안

In recent years, the Korean higher education system has begun to stress the importance of general education during undergraduate studies. There has also been some interest in encouraging the general education curriculum to embrace the field of dance as well. However, while much research has addressed other disciplines, there have been very few contemporary studies that address teaching strategies for general dance education in Korea. This review reports on the existing relevant literature describing this situation. The aim of this paper is to examine the state of general dance education in Korean higher education and to suggest possibilities for incorporating dance studies into general education, given the larger changes within Korean culture. Therefore, Korean general dance education needs more investigation in order to develop diverse curriculums that can include dance technique, dance history and dance appreciation classes. The goals of general dance education need to change according to Korean society`s changing demands. Therefore, I expect that the students who take general dance classes in universities will become the informed audiences of dance performances in the future.
지방대의 페미니즘 교육 현실에 관한 비판적 성찰 - C대학교의 젠더관련 교양교육을 중심으로*

The purpose of this study is to assess the current status of gender-related general education at local national universities. It endeavors to raise awareness about the need for feminist education within higher education by scrutinizing the perceptions and experiences of stakeholders. The study examines the curriculum of gender-related general education courses offered at C-National University in 2022, drawing insights from qualitative data gathered through focus group interviews with students and instructors. The courses are selected through keyword-based searches, including marriage, family, and sex/gender/sexuality. The key findings of the study are as follows. First, there is an increase in the number of courses with curricula and syllabi encompassing topics related to family and marriage. On the other hand, there is a relative decline in the number and volume of courses that directly address feminism or gender. Second, the research participants pointed out the limitations of current curricula on feminism education and the need for its expansion. In particular, the student group evaluates feminism education in universities within the context of “local residence” and calls for local universities to play a proper role as educational entities. Third, the research participants advocate for the selection of gender and feminism related subjects as compulsory courses to spread the values of gender equality and feminism. Based on these findings, this study advocates for a systematic and well-directed implementation of feminism related courses. It also suggests that practical support should be provided at the institutional level.

This article aims to suggest some ideas regarding the interdisciplinary approach on Korean Education (KE) and General Pedagogy (GP). The results of this study are summarized as follows. Firstly, interdisciplinary studies connecting KE and GP would be activated by utilizing various kinds of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) researches. In order to develop KE science, it is recommended that the big data of classroom practices should be collected by educational practitioner. Moreover, it seems a priori task to make an appropriate grade level reading inventory. It also necessary to develop the open courseware that students themselves could analyze and monitor their own (written or oral) performance in real time. Secondly, KE educators should criticize the presupposed concepts and methodologies taken for granted, try to collaborate with the academic studies, and engage in all areas of living experience, thereby they can expand and create their academic scope of KE.

Critical Literacy in the EFL Classroom: Perspectives of Undergraduates on Reading beyond the Text

This paper reports on a qualitative case study that explored the possibility of developing critical literacy within a general English reading program at the collegiate level in Korea. Conducted in the context of a mandatory English class with a novice instructor and 39 freshmen, the study aimed to bring to light the way critical literacy was closely related to the students ability to read beyond the text. Data were collected from classroom observations, a student reflection paper, and instructor interviews, and were analyzed qualitatively. The findings illustrated that the critical approach to literacy offered students an opportunity to situate their reading practices within the larger sociopolitical world and to develop critical consciousness through collaboration. Dissatisfied with the traditional cognitively oriented and teacher-centered approach to reading, the students spoke highly of the critical literacy approach as it allowed them to reflect critically on the issues presented in the text, which were relevant to their lives, to form and express their own opinions, and to search for ways to bring about changes. Although students had positive experiences in the critical literacy class overall, they encountered some challenges as well. Implications for successful implementation of critical literacy are suggested.
