        AC PDP의 개방형 유전체 구조에서 구동 파형에 의한 기입 방전 특성의 연구

        An open dielectric in AC PDP is a structure in which the sustain discharge is more easily generated by removing the dielectric layer between the electrodes of the top plate in order to increase the luminance of the AC PDP. Though the sustain discharge easily occurs when the conventional drive method is used for the open dielectric, the characteristic of the writing discharge is relatively poor. Previous studies have suggested a method to improve the characteristics of the write discharge, but it has been disadvantageous in that an excessive initializing discharge due to a high voltage causes a low contrast ratio and a high voltage is applied in the negative direction. In this study, threshold voltage (Vt) closed curves of conventional and open dielectric structures were measured and the wall voltage vector inside the cell was analyzed by the driving waveform. Based on the results, we show a modified driving waveform to improve the write discharge characteristics. Compared with the conventional driving waveform, the write discharge delay time is shortened by about 0.3μm in each write pulse. AC PDP에서 개방형 유전체란 AC PDP의 휘도를 높이기 위하여 상판의 전극 사이에 존재하는 유전체를 제거하여 유지 방전이 더 쉽게 발생하기 위한 구조이다. 개방형 유전체에 종래의 구동방법을 사용했을 때, 비록 유지 방전은 쉽게 발생시킬 수 있었지만 상대적으로 기입 방전의 특성은 나빠졌다. 이전 연구에서 기입 방전의 특성을 향상시키기 위한 방법을 제시하였지만, 높은 전압에 의한 과도한 초기화 방전을 유발하여 명암비가 낮아지고 음의 방향으로도 높은 전압이 인가되는 단점이 존재했다. 본 연구에서는 종래 및 개방형 유전체 구조에서의 문턱전압 폐곡선(Vt closed curve)을 측정하고 구동파형에 의한 셀 내부의 벽전압 벡터를 분석하였다. 그 결과를 바탕으로 기입 방전 특성을 향상시키기 위한 수정된 구동 파형을 제시하였고 종래의 구동파형을 적용하였을 때와 비교해서 기입 방전의 지연시간을 각 기입 펄스에서 약 0.3μm 단축시켰다.

        온배수 및 염배수의 근역혼합특성 분석을 통한 방류시스템의 최적설계

        해양방류시스템을 계획할 때 우선목표는 방류수의 초기희석을 극대화하는 것이다. 이를 효과적으로 달성하기 위해서는 방류수와 주변수의 혼합현상, 특히 초기혼합영역인 근역에 대한 특성분석이 선행되어야 한다. 최근까지 최적의 방류시스템(outfall system) 구현을 위하여 근역(NFR)에서의 온배수 방류에 관한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있지만 온 배수(heat discharge)와 염배수(brine discharge)를 동시에 방류 할 경우를 고려한 성과물을 찾기는 어려운 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 온수와 영수를 동시에 고려한 방류시스템의 최적석계를 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 방류수의 거동양상 특히, 근역에서의 혼합특성을 분석하였다. 수치실험은 표면방류, 단일확산관 방류, 다공확산관 방류를 해당해역의 법적 수질 기준에 부합하는지 여부를 주로 평가하였다. 그 결과 표면방류와 단일확산관 방류는 방류형식이 부적절하였고, 다공확산관의 경우 기하학적인 형상에 따라 결과가 조금 상이하였다. When planning outfall system, the first target of design is to maximize initial dilution of discharge effluent. To achieve the target effectively, the characteristics of mixing phenomenon between ambient and discharged water should be analyzed. Especially the analysis at the Near-Field-Region(VFR) as initial dilution zone should be preceded Usually, the initial behavior of effluent through outfall system is rising toward the surface due to mixing with ambient water lor heat discharge and sinking toward the bottom due to the difference of density for brine discharge. After mixed with eddies accompanied by the ambient water, the plumes are showing the same density and internal current pattern by advection and diffusion. Until recently. lots of studies are being carried out for the optimum design of outfall system but it is difficult to find any studies of heat and brine discharge at the same time. Therefore, this study is hoped to provide some basic data for optimum design of outfall system.

        Discharge Characteristics of Single-Sustainer Driving in an AC Plasma Display Panel

        We investigated the discharge characteristics of conventional and single-sustainer driving for various pulses applied in an ac plasma display panel (PDP) through experimental observation and three-dimensional numerical simulations. In the single-sustainer driving method, bipolar pulses with both positive- and negative-going pulses are applied to one of the sustain electrodes while the other electrodes are maintained at ground. In single-sustainer driving with bipolar pulses, the luminance shows a higher value in comparison with that of conventional driving and the luminous efficacy tends to increase with increasing sustain voltage in accordance with the tendency of the rela- tive IR (infrared) efficacy by positive-going pulse application. We performed a discharge analysis by using the spatiotemporal distribution of IR emission observed by using an image-intensified charge- coupled device (ICCD) camera and the density profile of excited Xe species through a numerical simulation of a PDP plasma discharge.

        경안천 유역 농촌지역의 비점오염원 배출 특성에 관한 연구

        A field monitoring was conducted in order to find out the discharge characteristics of non-point source pollutants in the agricultural area. Event Mean Concentration (EMC) of TSS, BOD5, CODMn, TP, TN was calculated based on the monitoring data of 10 rainfall events at agricultural watersheds. A significant relationship was observed from the correlation between EMCs and rainfall characteristics. The result shows that EMC ranges of 95% confidence intervals were 50.5~203 mg/L for TSS, 0.8~14.2 mg/L for BOD5, 4.2~20.7 mg/L for CODMn, 2.4~4.5 mg/L for TN and 0.2~0.5 mg/L for TP, respectively. The correlation coefficients between TSS and TP and between BOD5 and CODMn were found to be 0.912 and 0.961. But TN was lower correlated with other EMC factors. It was also found that rainfall characteristics was not correlated with EMCs.

        플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 새로운 표시기간 중첩 프라이밍 방전 기술

        A novel priming discharge technique in which the ramp shaped priming pulse is superposed on the sustain period so that the entire plasma display panel (PDP) is discharged at the same time with a single drive circuit is proposed. From the experimental results, it is ascertained that the priming discharge is ignited only in a pixel in which sustain discharge does not occur and it has been understood that the priming pulse hardly influences the sustain discharge. Moreover, high-speed driving with address pulse widths of 0.7[${\mu}s$] was achieved and a wide address voltage margin of 40[V] was obtained by using the drive method applied the proposed priming discharge technique. In these results, full-HDTV PDP with 1080 horizontal scanning lines can be driven without decreasing the brightness and the possibility of the commercializing is also high because this technology is designed for using the commercialized driver IC. 램프(ramp) 파형의 프라이밍 펄스를 표시방전 유지기간에 중첩시켜 인가함으로써, 단일 구동회로를 사용하여 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(PDP)의 전체를 동시에 방전시킬 수 있는 새로운 프라이밍(priming) 방전기술을 고안하였다. 실험결과로부터 표시방전이 없는 화소에만 프라이밍 방전이 일어남을 확인하였으며 표시방전은 프라이밍 펄스의 영향을 거의 받지 않는다는 것을 알았다. 또한 제안된 프라이밍 방전 기술을 적용한 구동방식을 사용하여 0.7 [${\mu}s$]의 어드레스 펄스폭을 가지는 고속 구동을 실현하였고 40[V]의 넓은 어드레스 전압 범위를 얻었다. 이 결과는 1080개의 수평주사선수를 가지는 full-HDTV PDP를 밝기의 감소 없이 구동할 수 있으며 이 기술은 상용의 구동IC를 사용할 수 있도록 설계되었으므로 상용화 가능성도 높다.

        수질오염총량관리 단위유역별 오염물질 배출부하량 특성분석 -금강수계를 대상으로

        Water quality management should be focused on the pollution concentrated area so that the improvement of water quality can be achieved effectively for the management of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). It is necessary to consider discharge characteristics in the TMDL plan. This study analysed discharge characteristics such as pollution generation and discharge load density, and reduction potential by each unit watershed, and categorized the unit watershed into four groups according to its discharge load characteristics. This analysis can be used as helpful information for the prioritization of pollution reduction area and selection of pollution reduction measures in the development of TMDL plans.

        교류형 플라즈마 디스플레이에서 단일 유지 파형을 가지는 기입 방전의 특성의 연구

        The characteristics of write discharge were investigated when the conventional driving method with the unipolar sustain voltages, and the single sustain driving method applying the bipolar sustain voltage were applied in an AC plasma display. In the case of having a single sustain waveform, the strength of the write discharge is weakened compared to the conventional driving method during the address period, because the wall charge inside the panel is more dissipated by the lower scanning voltage. In the driving method with a single sustain waveform, the bias voltage of the other electrodes was changed to improve the write discharge characteristics. As a result, the intensity of the discharge was enhanced by 32% and the delay time was shortened by 60 μs.

        다변량통계분석을 이용한 수질오염총량관리 단위유역별 오염물질 배출특성 분석 -한강수계를 중심으로-

        The characteristic of the water quality and pollutant discharge was analyzed at the units watershed of the total amount management in Han-river basin, and after classified in a similar area by multivariate statistical analysis, the main trend such as the water quality trend and pollutant discharge characteristic were analyzed. As a result of this study, the density of the pollutant at the unit watershed is not necessarily identified as discharge density, and the primary management watershed and targeted substances were analyzed depending on the operating status of the environmental infrastructure in watershed and the main pollution factor and discharge path per pollutants. As a result of cluster analysis, watersheds were classified into four groups according to discharge characteristics. It will be used when selecting target area of primary management that is appropriate to the characteristics of each river and establishing efficient water quality improvement plans.

        퇴원환자 요약정보를 이용한 이탈환자 특성과 관련 요인 연구: 일개 대학병원 사례

        Objectives: Patients who are discharged from hospital prematurely have become strategically important for hospital customer relationship management. The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of patients who were discharged prematurely and the associated factors using patient discharge data. Methods: This study used a retrospective, cross-sectional design. Primary data source comes from medical records of patients who were discharged from a university medical center during 2011. Data were analyzed using chi-square test, T-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and multivariate logistic regression to find significant patient characteristics and factors associated with premature discharge. Results: Final research subjects were 18,104 patients after excluding duplicated discharge patients, death patients, and discharges against medical advice. Male sex, older age, and living further away from Seoul were positively associated with premature discharge. Patients who were admitted via emergency room, due to car accident, and referred by other medical providers were more likely to discharge prematurely. Those who were diagnosed with neoplasm or circulatory system illness, and having comorbidities or complications were related to premature discharge. Other factors, such as having consultation treatment, non-favorable treatment outcome, and staying in intensive care unit had higher odds of premature discharge. Conclusions: It is suggested that hospitals monitor patients who would be more likely to be discharged prematurely, and need to address any quality issues during hospitalization if they lead patients to discharge early.

        Effect of partial insulation winding scheme on discharge characteristics of GdBCO coils

        In this study, sudden discharge tests were performed on partially-insulated (PI) GdBCO coated conductor single-pancake coils to investigate the effects of a PI winding scheme on the discharge characteristics. Three sets of PI coils were constructed with insulation at 3 different intervals: every 2nd, 4th, and 8th turn. Each set included coils with 4 different insulation-angles: 90˚, 180˚, 270˚, and 360˚. Discharge delay of the PI coils was alleviated by increasing the insulation-interval or insulation-angle due to increased insulated area, which partially hinders radial current flow. The results of the sudden discharge test were in fairly good agreement with simulations of the PI coils using an equivalent circuit model consisting of a single RL circuit in parallel. The characteristic resistance of the PI coils was reasonably estimated through the numerical approach with contact surface resistance and compensation for the current-bottleneck effect, which enables the PI coils to be utilized in practical superconducting magnet applications.
