        한국관광호텔의 규모별 포트폴리오에 따른 효율성 비교분석

        This study is to analyze the efficiency of 107 Korean Tourist Hotels in 2009. This study used DEA model to evaluate 107 Korean tourist hotels in 2009. The first stage uses the CCR model to assess the efficiency. The second stage examine the distinct feature of each group after dividing two groups focusing the average efficiency. The third stage is one-way ANOVA approach which was applied to illustrate the influence of size portfolio according to each variables on hotel efficiencies. The fourth stage performs multiple regression formulae which are made with the difference in efficiency as dependent variables and sales, expenses, seven dummy variables as independent variables. Data envelopment analysis(DEA) model with seven inputs and two outputs was specified and used to estimate tourist hotel efficiency. Tourist hotels were operated with technical efficiency of average 52.8%. This indicates that almost 47.2% costs can be reduced without decreasing output if the tourist hotel can operate efficiently. This study has decision making units(DMU) 107, thus using nonparametric Pearson correlation method. The correlation between input factors and output factors appears to be significantly higher, therefore the DEA model can apply to all variables. Statistics about input and output variables for 107 tourist hotels in 2009. This study selected 107 DMUs. Input variables are seven factors (RM_st RM_d RM_su RM_h RM_TL NU9 EX9), and the output variables are two factors (SA9, PR9). ParadisehotelBusan has the maximum number of rooms, 538. Lotte Hotel is the largest hotel in Number of employees, 3,309, and labor expenses, 111,000 million. In the aspect of employee, large size group(above 201) has the highest efficiency. On the other hand, middle and small and middle size groups(51-200, below 50) show low efficiency, expecially middle size group is lower the loss than small size group. In the view of rooms, large size group(above 401) has the highest efficiency. On the other hand, middle and small size groups(201-400, below 200) show low efficiency, especially small and middle size group in rooms is net loss, meanwhile the middle size group are better and more proper alternative than small size group. Metropolitan is operated a little more efficient than non-metropolitan, metropolitan is more profitable than non-metropolitan. In the view of hotels grade, special 1 grade is more profitable than special 1 grade and others grade group. The tourist hotels with above average efficiency primarily exist small and middle size group(below 200 in employees, below 400 in rooms), metropolitan area, others grade(not special grade). The tourist hotels with below average efficiency primarily exist small size group(below 50 in employees, below 200 in rooms), non-metropolitan area, non-special grade. The efficiency of large employee scale is statistically significantly higher(mean=0.6632) than that of middle scale(mean=0.5135) or small scale(mean=0.4724). Also the efficiency of large room scale is statistically significantly higher(mean=0.7501) than that of middle scale(mean=0.5820) or small scale(mean=0.4770). But the efficiency of special 1 in tourist hotel rate is not statistically significantly higher(mean=0.6317) than that of special 2(mean=0.4649) or others( mean=0.5233). The metropolitan division is not statistical significant. To study the determinant factors which affect efficiency, multi-regression analysis has been used. Where ? represents the CCR efficient score as dependent variable. And expenses of employee, sales, large scale of employee, middle scale of employee, large scale of room, middle scale of room, metropolitan, hotel grade are independent variables, expecially other variable except for employee and sales are dummy variables. LN(EX) is a logarithm of salary expenses for employees. LN(SA) is a logarithm of operating profit. EMP_L is a dummy variable which is one for tourist hotels belonging to a large scale of employee, and zero otherwise. EMP_M is a dummy variable which is one for tourist hotels belonging to a middle scale of employee, and zero otherwise. ROOM_L is a dummy variable which is one for tourist hotels belonging to a large scale of room, and zero otherwise. ROOM_M is a dummy variable which is one for tourist hotels belonging to a middle scale of room, and zero otherwise. METRO_Y is a dummy variable which is one for tourist hotels belonging to metropolitan, and zero otherwise. It aims at capturing advantage of area in the activity. GRADE_1 is a dummy variable which is one for tourist hotels belonging to special 1 grade tourist hotels, and zero otherwise. GRADE_2 is a dummy variable which is one for tourist hotels belonging to special grade 2 tourist hotels, and zero otherwise. LnSA, ROOM_M are positive statistically significant, whereas LnEX, EMP_M, GRADE_2 are negative statistically significant. It is observed that the efficiency increases according to the sales and operating profit. And middle scale of room(ROOM_M) than small scale of room(ROOM_S) contributes to increase of efficiency. The efficiency decreases according to the salary for employees. And middle scale of employee( EMP_M) than small scale of employee(EMP_S) and special 2 grade than others grade(not special) cause the efficiency to drop down. The results of the large scale of employee(EMP_L), large scale of room(ROOM_L), metropolitan(METRO_Y), special 1 grade(GRADE_1) are not statistically significant. Therefore, the sales and middle scale of room than small scale of room have positive significant contributions to efficiency, and an increase in the salary for employees, middle scale of employee than small scale of employee, and special 2 grade than others grade are detrimental to efficiency. The metropolitan division is not statistical significant. No significant evidence can be found that efficiency is affected by hotel location. The efficiency of large scale tourist hotels is higher than that of small and middle scale tourist hotels. Inefficient hotels can look for their efficiency improvement strategies based on the benchmark of those efficient hotels. It is the time to pursue consistently regional decentralization strategy to distribute the tourists focused on Seoul. To activate all tourism hotels is to attract foreign tourists and to invigorate the tourism industry. The essential thing to complete is to expand a professional travel agent and to increase tourism infrastructure by civil and government joint management. Also providing such various functions as korean culture assets, shopping centers and shops for foreigners, entertainment places in addition to proper scale investment which was previously studied.

        지방 관광호텔 운영활성화 방안 연구 -부산지역을 중심으로-

        The purpose of this study is to suggest the strategies for activation for local tourist hotels` operations in Busan area. The hotels have much difficulty in management although they considerably contribute to local economy and also perform a role as a hub of local tourism industry. This study mentioned the circumstances related to the management of tourist hotels in Busan area and analyzed the actual conditions of hotel-management. This study suggests the policy issues and the measures to overcome the a bear market, The policy issues for activation the management of local tourist hotels are as follows, First, It needs to make rational reform measures to give various tax benefits for tourist hotels in Busan area. Finally, local authorities and government of the province tourist hotel needs to be told what difficulties and problems, and the opinion of the local tourist hotel to accommodate the request of local governments and government support policies should be established. And the local tourist hotel continues to overcome difficulties with own efforts, whether you need any support the government`s ongoing efforts to identify and, if in each local tourist hotels and hotel management and will contribute to the activation.

        방한 아시안 무슬림 관광객의 호텔 선택 속성에 관한 탐색적 연구

        This study was conducted to find out the Asian Muslim’s important attributes of hotel selection when traveling to Korea. According to the analysis results, the most important attributes of Asian Muslim’s hotel selection is halal foods and beverages near hotel. In addition, as a result of t-test and one-way ANOVA analysis by dividing groups by gender and nationality, there was a significant difference by gender for the attribute of hotel location near transportation facilities. Moreover, there was a significant difference by nationality in the importance of general food and beverage near hotel and religious (Islamic) related facilities and services in the hotel. This study showed which part of the hotel should be improved and developed for attracting Muslim tourists who have recently rising as a blue ocean in the tourism market. Furthermore, this study could be helpful for marketing of Muslim tourists to develop hotel industry. Complementing the limitations and sample size of this study, the future research on hotel selection attributes for Muslim tourists in Korea could lead to a better explanation. This study could be used as a basic data to identify the hotel selection attributes preferred by Muslim tourists and to develop products for improving hotel satisfaction of Muslim tourists which are not currently resolved.

        관광호텔 등급에 따른 내부마케팅 요인과 직무만족 연구

        In the tourist hotel industry in Korea, every tourist hotel has its own different quality according to the hotel`s grade which is assigned pursuant to the tourist hotel rating standard and the additional facilities and size and quality of guest rooms of the hotel. The job satisfactions of the employees of hotel, who are the center in the internal marketing, are also affected by these environments. Therefore, to maximize the efficiency of the management of tourist hotel industry, more detailed studies are required. Accordingly, to achieve the goal of the study, I have extracted some variables for the internal marketing factors and job satisfaction to establish the theoretical system and conducted the study on their relationship and difference between variables. My conclusion on the study is as follows. First, I have conducted the one-way ANOVA to find out the difference between the internal marketing and job satisfaction according to the tourist hotel grade and concluded that delegation of authority, welfare and job implementation factors are significantly interrelated. Second, I have conducted the regression analysis on the internal marketing factors and job satisfaction factors in tourist hotel industry and found out that there are positive relations among the management support, communication, internal delegation and employment stability. Accordingly, considering the implications derived from the relationships among these critical factors, the management shall use them in a way that they are beneficial in establishing the differentiated management strategy.

        Segmenting tourists by wellness hotel attributes and demographics: a study of North American wellness tourists

        This study aims to segment North American wellness tourists according to wellness hotel attributes using a factor-cluster market segmentation approach. Using convenience sampling from the Wellness Tourism Association database and the Traveltowellness email list, survey data were collected from 2,912 tourists using a self-administered questionnaire. Based on the data collected, this article answers the following research questions: Which wellness hotel attributes are important for the North American wellness tourist? What segments of tourists can be distinguished based on these hotel attributes? What are the characteristics of these segments, and how are they different from one another? The authors derived three factors from sixteen motivational items by factor analysis based on destination attributes and relevant socio-demographic characteristics. Utilizing destination attributes and pertinent socio-demographic characteristics, a clustering method identified three discernible segments: high environmental wellness sensitivity, medium environmental wellness sensitivity, and low environmental wellness sensitivity. The findings indicate that individuals with higher incomes exhibit greater environmental wellness sensitivity. The most important hotel attributes found in this survey included a secure and hygienic hotel environment, a comprehensive water purification system throughout the hotel, availability of fitness activities in nature, and implementation of sustainable green practices. Additional examination of these characteristics and variables is necessary given the evolving circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic during which the survey was conducted. This research is practically beneficial for tourism providers who are poised to confront intense competition in the years to come. This research makes a scholarly contribution to the field of segmentation theory by applying data-driven segmentation techniques to scenarios traditionally relying on conventional segmentation methods.

        관광호텔 컨벤션의 유형별 서비스와 경영성과 분석

        The purpose of this study was to practically demonstrate the operation of the hotel convention, which is highlighted by the differentiation strategy in rapidly changing hotel industry. In particular, this study was conducted to investigate the relationship between service attributes and management performance by convention type for hoteliers. According to the research model based on the hypotheses and the variables, a total of 254 samples were analyzed using SPSS ver.25.0. First, significant differences were gathered from service attributes according to the convention type in tourist hotels. In the case of association convention, the overall proportion of services such as convention services, F&B services, and human services are high. On the other hand, the evaluation of the overall service was found to be low in government convention. Second, F&B and human service showed a positive influence on the relationship between the tourist hotel convention service attribute and customer performance. Third, the importance of direct convention related facilities, called convention services, was examined in the relationship between tourist hotel convention service attributes and financial performance. Lastly, the relationship between customer performance and financial performance, which constitutes management performance, formed a significant relationship, but there was no strong causal relationship. Some suggestions can be made for further studies. It would be interesting to see direct causal relationship between various levels of service attributes and management performance. Moreover, use of business indicators based on various types of operating examples of tourist hotel conventions will lead to more specific and quantitative research. 본 연구는 급변하는 호텔시장의 차별화 전략으로 조명되는 호텔컨벤션 운영을 위한실무적 연구로써, 특히 평가의 관점을 호텔종사자들을 대상으로 하여 컨벤션 참가형태별 서비스속성과 경영성과 간의 관계를 규명하기 위하여 진행되었으며, 이론적 토대를바탕으로 정립된 연구가설 및 측정변수 간 관계에 기반한 연구모형에 따라 국내 관광호텔을 대상으로 총 254개의 조사표본을 추출하여 SPSS ver.25.0을 통해 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 관광호텔 컨벤션 참여유형에 따른 서비스 속성에는 유의한 차이가 확인되었다. 구체적으로 협회컨벤션의 경우, 컨벤션서비스와 식음료서비스, 인적서비스 등 서비스 전반에 대한 비중이 높은 것으로, 정부컨벤션의 경우에는 전반적인 서비스에 대한 평가가 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 관광호텔 컨벤션 서비스속성과 고객성과의 관계에서는 식음료서비스와 인적서비스가 유의한 정(+)의 영향관계를 나타내었다. 셋째, 관광호텔 컨벤션 서비스속성과 재무성과의 관계에서는 컨벤션서비스로 명명한 직접적인컨벤션 관련 시설의 중요성이 검정되었다. 마지막으로 경영성과를 구성하는 고객성과와재무성과 간 관계는 유의한 관계를 형성하였지만 강한 인과관계가 나타나지 않았다. 후속 연구에서는 본 연구결과를 토대로 다양한 차원의 서비스속성과 경영성과 간직접적인 인과관계를 위한 연구들이 필요할 것이며, 관광호텔컨벤션의 다양한 유형별운영사례에 기반을 둔 영업지표를 활용한다면 보다 구체적이고 계량적인 연구가 될것이라 제언한다.

        호텔기업의 홈페이지 보안취약성 평가 연구

        The purpose of this study is to evaluate the web vulnerability in the Website for the tourist hotels which were registered at the Korean Hotel Association (Special First Class, Special 2nd Class, First Class, Second Class, Third Class, Family Hotel, undecided ratings). Through such an evaluation, this study aimed at reinforcing the security of online reservation/payment through the Website for a tourist hotel, and to arrange a foundation for revitalizing the ever-increasing E-Commerce of tourist industry. In an effort to evaluate the Web vulnerability in the Website for tourist hotels, this study used the tool for checking Web vulnerability-WVS (Web Vulnerability Scanner), and evaluated Web vulnerability based on OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project)-recommended Top 10 in 2013. It also evaluated the Web vulnerability according to the risk ratings (Informational ? Low Level ? Medium Level ? High Level) among WVS-offered web vulnerability. As a result of inspection, this study discovered only Injection (32.9%), Broken Authentication and Session Management (0.2%), Cross-Site Scripting (38.4%) among the OWASP Top 10. Vulnerability of Injection and Cross-Site Scripting are especially pronounced in hotels with the first and second highest ratings while it is less pronounced in the top-ranked hotels. However, inspections considering the OWASP Top 10 reveal that Informational alerts, Low Level alerts, Medium Level alerts, and High Level alerts are 77.7%, 85.5%, 25.6%, and 63.3%, respectively. Taken together, all these inspections suggest that 90% of the hotel Websites have a certain level of vulnerability regardless of the hotel ratings. Key Words : website for the tourist hotels, web

        지역주민의 관광호텔 이용제약요인과 관계지향성 간 관계 연구: 부산지역을 중심으로 한 세대별 비교 연구

        As a research for analyzing the relationship between the factors that restrain the use of the tourist hotels and the relationship-orientation in order to overcome the restraint matters regarding the use of the hotels by the local residents and in order to form a long-term relationships, this research had been proceeded with the comparative research by age according to each household by being centered on the Busan region, especially. The questionnaire survey had been carried out with the local residents residing in the Busan region who have the experience of using a tourist hotel in the Busan region in the recent one year as the subjects. And the implications after collecting and analyzing a total of the 296 samples are the following: irstly, with regard to the use of the tourist hotels on the part of the local residents, it was tested that the biggest restraint condition had been the structural restraint. And, in detail, it had been able to confirm that the economic cost, the time, the crowding of the hotel, etc. had been becoming the problems. Eventually, regarding the viewpoint through which the local residents look at the tourist hotels within the region, it had been recognized as their life zone and the special domain that had been distinguished by centering on the physical object of the tourist hotel, the psychological sense of distance, etc. And, accordingly, it had been confirmed once again that they are directly connected to the economic and time conditions in the domain for using the tourist hotels. Secondly, regarding the difference according to the age and the household in relation to the use of the tourist hotels on the part of the local residents, the usage restraint of the minors in terms of the structural restrain, the relationship-orientation, etc. had stood out. However, it was confirmed the influence relationships according to the special characteristics by household did not have any difference. If we take a look at the results of the analysis by putting them together, it can be inferred that the structural restraint matters that are perceived by the local residents are the elements that can be largely perceived mainly by the youths bracket, including the economic costs, the time, etc. But, the thing that is important is the point that the level of the perception does not show any differences on the regardful levels between the youth bracket, the middle-aged bracket, and the elderly bracket by generation.

        공간구문론을 활용한 월미관광특구의 관광호텔 배치특성 분석 -월미도권 관광호텔의 위상학적 접근성을 중심으로-

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the layout characteristics of Wolmido area tourist hotels using space syntax. In order to accomplish the purpose of research, we conducted literature research on space syntax and tourism special zone. Next, we analyzed the basic analysis and topological accessibility of Wolmido area tourist hotels. As a result of the basic analysis, the tourist hotels of Wolmido area was arranged around the road on the back of Wolmi cultural street near the sea. Also, the global integration of tourist hotels through space syntax analysis is above 1.0, which means that accessibility is good. In addition, it is analyzed that the tourist hotels are arranged around the road with the highest topological accessibility. On the other hand, this study suggests the strategic arrangement of tourism hotels according to the characteristics of tourist area like downtown and resort area. Also, the necessity of rearrangement of tourist information facilities considering the topological center point and crossing point in Wolmido area was suggested.

        This study competition in the food service industry. Hotel employees are very important for the forecast of changes in hotel management. Recently, food and beverage(F&B) department is an important source of income for many deluxe hotels and it is one of the leading and fastest growing divisions in the hotel industry. Employee’s dissatisfaction in F&B will strike hotel’s income a fatal blow. Be due to this point, the purpose of this study is to look for the counter measure to increase F&B employee’s satisfaction. The self-administered method of asking each participant to ll out each questionnaire was utilized to perform this study. e participants were the customers to visit the deluxe hotels in Seoul area. This study suggests that today a hotels image is judged by fulfillments of individuals because of main reliance on manpower in hotel service elds, also the organizations of hotels vary according to the locations, types of service, facilities structure, management abilities of representatives, kinds of ownerships, styles of administration, managers background and education levels. erefore, we try to encourage the organizations of hotel industries to adopt the theory of management strategies and achievements properly and develop the qualities of study of tourist and hotel. And we hope that this theory will be adopted to the tourist industry. This thesis attempted to investigate job satisfaction and service quality of F&B employees of a deluxe hotel. As a study method, it was attempted to nd out the true nature of job satisfactions and service quality then, based on the essence, their concepts were observed, and the consisting factors were observed while looking into the previous trend of study as a study trend. The results of the present study are summarized as follows : First, putting the right man in the right place and training, importance of F&B business, level of F&B department facility, service providing capacity, service system are the signicant factors in enhancing the job satisfaction of the employees in the super-deluxe hotel F&B departments in Seoul, and moreover in ameliorating the result and eciency of the F&B business. Second, the study shows that work practice and experience level, importance of F&B business, service system has a signicant eect on the result and eciency of the service quality in F&B business. ird, all of the job satisfaction factors of the employees become an important factor in service qulity in F&B business, the study shows. e results of the study show that the specialization of each employee’s job, the level of job performance, and the job satisfaction are important factors in the ecient performance of the F&B business. erefore, the present study anticipates not only specialty and skill of each service personnel but also the organic, effcient policy sharing among managers, administrators(management) and local communities.
