In the early of 1950, the high response magnetic torque motor was developed for driving electro-hydraulic servo valves. Since then it has been broadly used for industrial application and the research of development or improvement of the torque motor is still being conducted. The purpose of this study is to present useful design criteria for the torque motor design. For this, torque motor is modelled and linearized. The static characteristics of the torque motor are investigated by direct computation of the derived linearlized equations. The dynamic characteristics of the torque motor are investigated with the derived transfer function by using Matlab and compared with the results of the linearlized analysis by using AMESim simulation with actual values of the physical parameters. Finally, the design criteria obtained from the analysis are reviewed.

속도와 샤프트각 그리고 피치 변화에 따른 토크 평형상태의 자동회전에서 플래핑 거동 특성과 전진비의 변화를 조사하였다. 속도 증가에 따른 압축성 효과를 모사하기 위해 압축성 Navier-Stokes 솔버로 해석된 2차원 데이터를 Pitt/Peters 유도흐름 이론과 함께 사용하였고 토크 평형상태에 대한 세 변수의 조합을 찾기 위해 과도모사법(TSM)을 이용하였다. 토크 평형상태에서 최대 플래핑각을 속도, 샤프트각, 피치와의 관계로 나타내고 전진비 변화와 비교함으로써 후진깃의 역풍영역 확대가 로터의 자동회전 특성에 관여하는 현상을 정성적으로 고찰하였다. The flapping characteristics and advance ratios at torque equilibrium state of autorotation were investigated when the airspeed, shaft angle, and pitch angle were varied. To simulate the airspeed increase, the aerodynamic data analyzed by using the compressible Navier-Stokes solver and Pitt/Peters inflow theory were used. Transient Simulation Method(TSM) was used to catch the torque equilibrium states. The maximum flapping angles at torque equilibrium state were correlated to the airspeed, shaft angle, and pitch angle. By comparing flapping behavior to the variation of advance ratio, the phenomenon that the extension of reverse flow area of retreating blade affects the characteristics of autorotation was qualitatively considered.

This test evaluates noise characteristics of a torque converter for different types of drive plates. The torque converter consists of the hydrodynamic clutch device and the lock-up clutch device. This prat is connected directly between an engine and an automatic transmission for the high efficiency and the low fuel consumption. Engine and torque converter are combined by a flexible drive plate, and engine power is passed to an automatic transmission. By applying different types of drive plates of torque converter, we can be found a change of the noise characteristics. As a result, the torque converter with the drive plate optimization is good for noise reduction.

This paper describes finite element analysis and evaluation of the characteristic test for the development of high-precision 6-components Force / Torque sensor. After analyzing characteristic test results of F/T sensor previously made, study was conducted to minimize coupling errors. To improve structural problems of loadcell, the length of beam was extended to mitigate the sensitivity of strain gages position error. Also, method of generating moment was verified in characteristic test.

Hydraulic excavator is one of the most commonly used construction equipments. In addition, the demand of large excavator has been increased. PTO gearbox, installed between engine and pumps, is used to improve fuel efficiency of large excavator. Because gearbox is loaded by capacity of the pumps, there are some needs for torque distribution technique, conducting torque test at the test equipment using dynamometer. This paper introduces the torque distribution technique and conducts a comparative analysis of torque test results & dynamic analysis.

유압식 굴삭기는 가장 많이 사용되는 건설기계 중 하나로, 초 대형급 굴삭기의 수요도 점차 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 초 대형급 굴삭기는 연비효율 개선을 목적으로 주 엔진과 다수의 펌프사이에 PTO 기어박스를 장착하고 있다. PTO(Power Take Off) 기어박스의 출력축은 3대의 펌프와 연결되어 펌프의 작동에 따라 부하를 받으므로, 각 출력 축 마다 발생되는 정격 부하가 다르다. 본 논문에서는 전기식 다이나모메터를 이용한 부하제어 방식을 적용하고, PTO 기어박스의 각 출력축에 기계적인 비틀림으로 토크를 분배하는 기술을 소개하며, 그 특성에 대해서 고찰하였다. 풍력터빈 블레이드의 가변 피치제어는 풍력발전기의 과풍속 영역 설계에 있어 중요한 요소로 알려져 있으나 원가문제 때문에 소형 풍력터빈에는 적용되지 못하고 실속제어가 많이 적용되고 있다. 하지만, 블레이드 주변의 난류 때문에 설계된 실속이 구현되지 않는 실속지연 현상이 종종 발생되고, 이에 따른 풍력 블레이드의 과회전과 발전기의 과출력 위험이 발생하고 있다. 이에 따라 블레이드에서 발생되는 공력으로 피치가 변하고 스프링의 복원력으로 복귀되는 수동형 피치제어 모듈이 주목 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 회전하는 블레이드의 익형에서 발생되는 양력과 항력을 이용하여 회전면으로 작용되는 토크와 블레이드의 Flap 방향으로 작용되는 추력을 계산하는 방법을 제시하고, 이러한 힘들의 크기를 여러 가지 익형에 대해 비교하였으며, 블레이드의 피치모멘트를 정량적으로 산출하여 수동 피치제어 모듈의 설계자료로 활용될 수 있도록 하였다. Even though the variable pitch control of a wind turbine blade is known as an effective component for power control over the rated wind speed, it has limited applicability to small wind turbines because of its relatively high cost on the price of small wind turbine. Instead, stall control is generally applied in the blade design without any additional cost. However, stall delay can frequently be caused by high turbulence around the turbine blade, and it can produce control failures through excessive rotational speed and overpowering the electrical generator. Therefore, a passive pitch control module should be considered, where the pitch moves with the aerodynamic forces of the blade and returns by the elastic restoring force. In this study, a method to calculate the pitch moment, torque, and thrust based on the lift and drag of the rotating blade wing was demonstrated, and several effective wing shapes were reviewed based on these forces. Their characteristics will be estimated with variable wind speed and be utilized as basic data for the design of the passive pitch control module.

Recently, KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) has been developing a modern 11.5 m diameter four bladed bearingless main rotor system, and this rotor system can be used for 7,000 lb class helicopter. Flexbeam and torque tube can be considered as key structural components, and large elastic twist of flexbeam induced by pitch control motion of torque tube can influence the nonlinear aeroelastic behavior. In this paper, the dynamic characteristic analysis results of bearingless rotor system were presented. In order to construct a input model and validate the analysis procedures, calculated results using the comprehensive helicopter analysis program CAMRAD II were compared with the measured natural frequencies and lag damping data from small-scale wind tunnel test. Next, the analysis model was extended to a full-scale model, and the dynamic analysis results were presented.

Friction plate which is main torque transfer element in lock-up clutch system is made of wet friction material that is consisted of synthetic fiber. Factors that decide characteristics of friction material are material composition, apply pressure, rotation speed and ATF temperature. Particularly, special condition control for friction durability is required because apply pressure and rotation speed become a important factor for friction characteristics and durability of friction material. The analysis of friction durability of friction material is investigated by using SAE No.2 test machine. This study provides applicable basic data for lock-up clutch system.
