In Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, there is a rogue residential area called the "Ger District." This area causes inefficient land use and irregular expansion of the entire city, causing serious air pollution and soil pollution, and the Mongolian government has tried several redevelopment projects in Ger districts to solve these problems, but they are now suspended or canceled due to financial problems. This research was designed to find reasonable redevelopment methods that can be applied easily to the characteristics of the Ger district area. Three blocks in the mid-tier Ger district were analyzed, that can be connected to central infrastructure, for the improvement of living environments. Some of reasonable redevelopment methods and strategies are proposed for the sample sites.

This study investigate the residential environment improvement strategy by reforming elementary school facility standards in space planning. To achieve this purpose, it is investigate the related law about school facility standards and the deposit system for school facility in urban development project. And the elementary school facility standards in space planning has been studied for the analyzing the problems of the facility space program. In this study, elementary school facility standards in space planning only focus on the educational consideration which is neglecting the function of community center in urban life. So, The forestry in elementary school site and open space for communit facility are not considered in space program in elementary school planning. This paper suggests that the improvement of elementary school facility standards in space planning(enlargement of elementary school site space), and the rational land use planning on elementary school location regarding its function of community center.
