        Immediate Effects of Sling Neurac Exercise on Craniosacral Angulation, Range of Motion, and Postural Alignment in Adults with Forward Head Posture

        Background: There is a lack of research on sling neurac exercise interventions for craniovertebral angle (CVA), head rotation angle, range of motion (ROM), and neck postural alignment in adults with forward head posture Objectives: To investigate the Immediate effects of sling neurac exercise on craniosacral angulation, ROM, and neck postural alignment in adults with forward head posture. Design: Quaxi-experimental study. Methods: Fifty young adults in their 20s were divided into a sling neurac exercise group (SNEG) and a control group (CG). SNEG conducted sling neurac exercise intervention for one day, and CG did not implement intervention. Craniosacral angulation, ROM, and postural alignment before and after exercise was evaluated for each group. Results: In the sling neurac exercise group (SNEG), CVA, cranial rotation angle (CRA), ROM, and postural alignment improved significantly after intervention (all P<.01). There were no significant differences in the control group (CG) (all P>.05). After the intervention, there were significant differences between the groups in craniosacral angulation, ROM, and postural alignment (all P<.01). Conclusion: The Sling neurac exercise can significantly improve CVA, CRA, ROM, and postural alignment. Therefore, it is suggested to consider sling neurac exercise as an intervention.

        거주 지역 특성에 따른 여성노인의 신체수행능력과 직립자세정렬에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical performance (SPPB) and standing posture alignment in urban and rural elderly women by regional characteristics. The body composition, balance ability of elderly, simple physical performance, walking speed, chair standing and each posture of standing posture were measured and investigated for urban elderly women (UWG, 76.98±4.5,1 n=90) and rural elderly women (RWG , 76.54±7.12, n=80). The results are as follows. First, the physical performance of rural elderly women such as standing balance, gait speed and total SPPB, was lower than that of urban elderly women’s except the repeated chair stands of SPPB (short physical performance battery ). There was a significant difference among the navel position, the L-patella center in the frontal posture, the cervical position and between PSIS levels in lateral posture of the posture alignment. In lateral posture, there was a significant difference among R-acromial position, R-knee position, L-head angle and R-lower position. Second, the SBBP of urban elderly women was negatively correlated with head level, pelvic level, and cervical position. The SPPB of rural elderly women was negatively correlated with head level, pelvic level, RL-patella center, RL-earhole position, RL-pelvic angle, and RL-knee position. Third, the relative influence of each posture alignment on the physical performance was examined. As a result, the SPPB affected the head level for the urban elderly women, the L-earhole position and head level and R-patella center for the rural elderly women. As described above, according to the characteristics of the residence area, the body performance ability and the characteristics of posture alignment for elderly women are different. And there is a difference in the posture position on the body performance ability. In this respect, physical performance and posture-related health interventions are needed to be considered.

        가방의 형태와 무게가 신체정렬에 미치는 영향

        Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the body alignment on the type and weight of the bag. Methods: The Subjects(n=62) measured posture alignment and make out the questionnaire. The questionnaire item was type of the bag, weight of the bag, side which carries the bag, and time to carry the bag. The posture alignment measured by global posture system(GPS). GPS Measurement was ASIA, acromion process, medial malleolus on Frontal plane, ear, shoulder joint, knee joint, lateral malleolus on sagittal plane, and trunk rotation on transverse plane. Results: The backpack and shoulder bag was no significant. The width of the strap bag was not significant. The side which carries on shoulder bag was statistical significance(p<.05). The time to carry the bag was statistical significance on change of posture(p<.05). A bag weight was no significant. Conclusion: This research provides the direction and carry the bag in time for the posture. This study showed that type and weight of bag does affect body alignment. This indicates that there is an interaction that plays a crucial roles in the type and weight of bag and the body alignment.

        뇌졸중 환자에서 자세정렬변화가 족저압 및 균형에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the exercise limit that may occur depending on changes in postural alignment by examining the significance of postural alignment changes, foot pressure, and balance of patients with stroke. Methods: In this study, 50 patients diagnosed with a stroke were selected as subjects. Imbalance of postural alignment of the trunk, pelvic tilt of trunk rotation of the body, angle of kyphotic curving of the thoracic, and angle of lordotic curving of the lumbar vertebra were measured. Foot pressure was examined by measuring average pressure and weight bearing. Balance was examined by measuring the center of pressure and limit of stability. Results: The significance of postural alignment, foot pressure, and weight bearing of the non-paretic side was examined. In addition, the significance between postural alignment and balance was examined. Conclusion: It is thought that limits of foot pressure and balance in the standing position can be caused by postural alignment. Thus, both a therapeutic intervention program and postural alignment training should be provided together in order to improve the function of patients with stroke.

        두부방사선규격사진 촬영 시 유도방법에 따른 자연두부자세의 차이 및 재현성에 관한 연구

        두부방사선규격사진에서는 매 촬영 시마다 두부의 수직적 회전 정도를 일정하게 유지하기 위하여 두부자세의 재현이 필요하다. 본 연구는 유도방법에 따른 자연두부자세의 수직적 두부회전 정도의 차이를 비교하고 각 두부자세의 재현성을 평가하기 위하여 시행되엇다. 20대 성인 남녀 30명을 연구대상으로 하여 head posture allgner를 이용한 방법(HPA법)과 self balance posture를 이용한 방법(SBP법)으로 자연두부자세를 유도하여 측모 및 정모두부방사선규격사진을 각각 한 달 간격으로 촬영한 후, 측모두부방사선규격사진 상에서 유도 방법에 따른 수직적 두부회전 정도의 차이를 비교하는 한편, 측모 및 정모두부방사선규격사진에서 시간 간격을 두고 동일 방법으로 유도하여 촬영한 두 사진 상의 동일 계측항목 간 차이를 비교함으로써 각 두부자세의 유도방법에 대한 재현성을 평가하였다. 연구결과 SBP법으로 유도한 자연두부자세는 HPA법에 의해 유도된 자연두부자세보다 평균 2.79˚ 고개를 숙인 자세로 나타났다. 또한 HPA법 또는 SBP법을 이용하여 시간 간격을 두고 각각 2회 촬영한 측모두부방사선규격사진과 정모두부방사선규격사진 상의 계측치는 모든 계측항목에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 HPA법과 SBP법으로 유도한 자연두부자세가 모두 재현성이 있음을 나타내는 것으로, 두부방사선규격사진 촬영 시 재현성을 높이기 위하여 HPA법과 더불어 SBP법도 임상적으로 사용될 수 있음을 시사하였다. The purpose of this study was to compare the degree of vertical head rotation and to evaluate the reproducibility of natural head posture (NHP) according to two guiding methods. The head posture aligner (HPA) method and the self balance posture (SBP) method. The subjects consisted of 30 adults. On the first day. Lateral and frontal cephalometric radiographs were obtained through the two guiding methods. One month later. lateral and frontal cephalometric radiographs were obtained again through both guiding methods. The degrees of vertical head rotation of both guiding methods were compared and the reproducibility was evaluated for each guiding method. A comparison of the degrees of vertical head rotation for the two methods revealed that the vertical head posture was lower in the SBP method than in the HPA method by an average of 2.79˚. All measurements obtained using the HPA and SBP methods with a time interval of one month did not show any significant difference in lateral and frontal cephalometric radiographs. The results of the present study suggest that the SBP method may be used as an alternative to the HPA method in case the HPA method can not be applied.

        상상연습을 병행한 발목 운동이 자세정렬에 미치는 영향

        Purpose : Various studies effects of mental practice. However, there is a lack of research on the effects of practice on postural alignment. Therefore this study to the effect of ankle exercise combined with mental practice on postural alignment of legs. Method : Subjects were randomly assigned to mental practice group (experimental group n=15) and general exercise group (control group n=15). Postural alignment was the hip, knee, and ankle joints. When viewed from the side, an arbitrary point in front of the malleolus makes a straight line with the plumb line. Exercise was performed a week for weeks. Exercise programs included muscle strengthening, relaxation, and proprioception exercise. The experimental group mental practice. Result : Both groups showed significant differences in postural alignment ankle joint, knee joint, and hip joint. In particular, the experimental group showed a larger change than the control group. However, significant difference in postural alignment change only the knee joint (p<0.05), and there was no significant difference the hip joint (experimental group=0.77±0.81, control group=0.87±1.13) and ankle joint (experimental group=0.52±0.63, control group=0.48±0.41). Conclusion : This study suggests that mental practice is effective as an exercise method postural alignment. Mental practice also expected to be musculoskeletal disorders. Therefore, additional studies should be conducted to verify the effect of mental practice on the alignment of various parts.

        정모 두부 방사선 사진 촬영시 Head Posture Aligner의 유용성에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 natural head posture(NHP)를 이용하여 정모 두부 방사선 규격사진 촬영시 재현도를 알아보기 위하여 시행되었다. 두개 안면부의 기형이 없는 25세 전후의 성인 남녀 30명을 대상으로 통상적인 방법(술자 유도법)과 NHP에서 Head Posture Aligner를 이용한 방법(HPA법)으로 정모 두부 방사선 사진을 각기 2주 간격으로 촬영한 후 5개의 고경 계측항목과 9개의 폭경 계측항목을 선정하여 t 검정으로 각 계측항목의 재현도를 비교하는 한편, 정모와 측모 두부 방사선 사진으로 3차원 상을 합성시 오차의 요인이 되는 두부의 상하 회전 정도 차이를 촬영 방법별로 비교 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1.시간 간격을 두고 술자 유도법으로 2회 촬영한 정모 두부 방사선 사진의 계측치는 모든 고경 계측항목에서 서로 차이를 나타내어 낮은 재현도를 보였다. 2.시간 간격을 두고 HPA법으로 2회 촬영한 정모 두부 방사선 사진의 계측치는 모든 고경 계측항목에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않아 재현도가 높음을 보였다. 3.폭경 계측항목의 경우 2회 계측치의 차이를 통하여 살펴 본 재현도에서 술자유도법과HPA방법간에 두드러진 차이를 보이지 않았다. 4.정모 및 측모 두부 방사선사진으로 3차원상을 합성하기 위한 수직적 두부 위치 보정각을 계산한 결과, 술자 유도법의 경우 2.5˚인 반면, HPA법은 0.8˚로 작게 나타났다. 이상의 결과는 정모 두부 방사선 규격 사진 촬영시 두부 위치의 재현도를 증가시키기 위하여 HPA의 사용이 필요함을 시사하였다. The purposes of this study were to evaluate the reproducibility of posteroanterior(PA) cephalograms obtained by two methods, the Head Posture Aligner(HPA) method in natural head posture and the conventional method(operator-guided method), and to compare the vertical rotational differences of the head posture between lateral and PA cephalograms according to the method. The sample was consisted of 30 adults. At first day, a PA cephalogram and a lateral cephalogram were obtained from each subject by two methods to investigate the difference of vertical rotational posture between lateral and PA cephalograms. Two weeks later, another PA cephalogram was obtained using each method to evaluate the reproducibility of head posture. Five height measurements and nine width measurements were used in the paired t-test to compare the reproducibility of the PA cephalometric measurements between two methods. The differences of vertical rotational posture between lateral and PA cephalograms were calculated from a computer program and compared according to the method used, and following results were obtained. 1.Height measurements obtained by operator-guided method showed significant differences according to the time interval and revealed low reproducibility. 2.Height measurements obtained by HPA method did not show significant differences according to the time interval and presented high reproducibility. 3.In the comparison of width measurement, two methods did not show distinct differences in reproducibility. 4.The difference of vertical rotational posture between lateral and PA cephalograms showed 0.8˚in the HPA method, more less than 2.5˚ in the operator-guided method. The results of the present study suggest that the HPA may be helpful in the PA cephalometric radiography in terms of reproducibility.

        Effects of Pilates Reformer Exercise on Standing Postural Alignment

        Purpose: This study examined the effects of applying the Pilates reformer exercise to 17 adult women on the alignment of the standing posture. Methods: The subjects performed a Pilates reformer exercise for 60 minutes a day, three times a week, for a total of eight weeks. The Pilates reformer exercise consisted of five types: 1) lower and lift, 2) hundred, 3) plow, 4) airplane, and 5) twist. The standing posture alignment in the sagittal and frontal planes was measured using exbody 9100MOMI musculoskeletal analysis equipment. Results: A comparison of before and after the exercise using paired t-test revealed a significant decrease in the difference between the horizontal inclination and the vertical height that approached zero after the intervention in the frontal plane of anterior and posterior standing postures (p<0.05), and the lateral standing posture in the sagittal plane. In addition, the difference between the horizontal inclination and the vertical height decreased and approached zero after the intervention (p<0.05). Conclusion: The Pilates reformer exercise had a positive effect on the alignment of the standing posture.

        Horse Riding Simulator Affect the Posture Alignment of Young Adults with Forward Head Posture

        PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of correction on posture parameters between a horse riding simulator exercise and a conventional exercise occurring in an open linear chain linking the head to the pelvis in the sagittal plane of young adults with a forward head posture. METHODS: In this study, 30 subjects were randomly divided into two groups of 15 subjects each, were assigned to the horse riding simulator exercise or the neck exercise group and they performed exercise 30 minutes per each round two times a week for six weeks. To determine the subjects` forward head posture, the three angles and three distances were measured. RESULTS: The forward head angle and head distance results showed a significant change between pre and post intervention in both group. The horizontal distance between acromion and tragus results showed a significant change between pre and post intervention in neck exercise group (CG), but no significant change in horse riding simulator exercise group (EG). The averages of each measured values of EG and CG before and after were compared, but there are no significant different between groups. CONCLUSION: Although the effects of the horse riding exercise were lower than those elicited by the neck exercise, the results demonstrated that the horse riding simulator exercise improved posture alignment for subjects with forward head posture. Therefore, the horse riding simulator exercise can constitute an appropriate alternative exercise for subjects with forward head posture.

        발목관절의 고유수용성 운동이 여성노인의 자세정렬에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of proprioceptive exercise on the body alignment of elderly women. Method: The experimental group consisted of twenty elderly women who participated in proprioceptive exercise for 8 weeks. The subjects were measured using Global Posture System equipment for assessing their body alignment. Body alignment was measured at the ear, shoulder joint, knee joint and calcaneocuboid joint on the sagittal plane, and the left and right acromion process positions, the ASIS and the medial malleoulus on the coronal plane. The body alignment data was used to assess the changes before and after proprioceptive exercise. The data of the experimental group was compared and analyzed using the Wilcoxon singed-rank test between before and after proprioceptive exercise. The Mann-Whithney test was used to compare the experimental group and the control group. Result: The result of this study was that the body alignment of the experimental group at the ear and knee joint on the sagittal plane was significantly in alignment with the line of gravity (p<0.05) before and after proprioceptive exercise. The body alignment was statistically different (p<0.05) between the experimental group and the control group on the frontal plane and sagittal plane. Conclusion: This study showed that proprioceptive exercise does affect the body alignment in elderly women. This indicates that there is interaction that plays a crucial role for proprioceptive stimuli and the body alignment.
