        설유착증 환아의 언어병리학적 평가

        There is close relationship between intraoral structural anomaly and speech- functional problem. Patient with cleft palate patients & ankyloglossia is a typical example, patients with structural anomaly is repaired toward normal structure by operation. Ankyloglossia may cause functional limitation even after adequate surgical treatment speech disorders being one of them. Interindividually, they vary a lot, showing typical articulation specifics. The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare speech for children with ankyloglossia and general public, to determine whether ankyloglossia is associated with articulation problem. We wanted to present criteria for indication of frenectomy. The group of subject is composed of 10 childrens with ankyloglossia and articulation problem, visited the Oral and Maxillofacial surgical unit, dental hospital, Chonbuk university. The average age is 5 Y 7M, M : F ratio is 8 : 2 at the time of speech test. Control group is composed of 10 members without oral structural anomaly. The average age is 5 Y 10M, M : F ratio is 3 : 7 at the time of speech test. Outcomes were measured the PPVT(Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test), PCAT(Picture Consonant Articulation Test), Nasometer II test result obtained each group, statistically measured by Mann-whitney's U Test. There was no difference for 'chronological age-age equivalent' between two group. There was significant difference for 'consonant accuracy' between two group, showed more lower scores in subject group. There was more 'consonant error' in subject group, mostly showed/1/,/s/. A major modality of 'consonant error' was mostly distortion and replacement. There was no significant difference between two group for nasality.

        Long Term Outcomes of Early Cochlear Implantation in Korea

        Objectives. The objective of this study was to compare the long-term auditory performance and language skill depending on the age of cochlear implantation in the Korean population. We especially tried to separate the effect of maturation/ development from that of the age at implantation. Methods. Eighty-six pre-lingual children with profound hearing loss who underwent a cochlear implantation before the age of six and had been followed for more than 3 yr were included in this study prospectively. Categories of Auditory Performance (CAP) and Korean Picture Vocabulary Test (K-PVT) were serially followed up. In order to separate the age at implantation effect, K-PVT results were readjusted to the child’s chronological age in the normal hearing population. Results. When the CAP and K-PVT scores were directly compared without chronological readjustment, we failed to show a significant difference for improvements according to the age at implantation. Early cochlear implantation was associated with better language development, only when the K-PVT scores were readjusted to percentile scores of their chronological age. Conclusion. Early cochlear implantation was associated with better language development even within the critical period. This advantage may be recognized only when the effect of the age at implantation is separated from the effect of maturation/development. Objectives.         그림책을 활용한 영어 수업이 초등학교 1학년 학습자들의 어휘력과 정의적 영역에 미치는 영향

        목적 본 연구에서는 그림책을 활용한 영어 수업이 초등학교 1학년 학습자들의 어휘력과 정의적 영역에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 방법 비수도권 대도시 소재의 A 초등학교 1학년 1개 학급 17명을 대상으로 4주간 주 2회씩 8차시의 실험 수업을 진행하였다. 수업전과 후에 어휘력 검사와 정의적 영역 검사를 실시하고 대응표본 t-검정을 통해 결과를 분석하였으며 학습자 소감 인터뷰와 교사관찰일지를 질적 분석하였다. 결과 사전⋅사후 어휘력 검사 결과, 초등학교 1학년 학습자들의 어휘력이 향상되었고 수준별 집단에서 특히 중 집단의 어휘력이향상된 것으로 나타났으나 상 집단과 하 집단의 평균 점수 차이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 사전⋅사후 정의적 영역 검사 결과, 학습자들의 정의적 영역이 향상되었고 특히 영어학습에 대한 자신감과 참여도가 증가한 것으로 나타났으나 흥미도 영역에서의 차이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 결론 본 연구는 초등학교 1학년 학습자들을 대상으로 그림책을 활용한 영어 수업을 수행하고 분석한 적극적인 시도였으며, 그림책활용 영어 수업의 방향성을 제시한다는 점에서 가치가 있고, 저학년을 대상으로 영어 수업에 그림책을 활용했을 때의 사례나 영어학습에서 나타나는 다양한 효과를 분석하는 등 추후 진행될 현장 연구를 위한 참고 자료가 될 것이다.
