서사전환과 대중성 강화 전략 연구 (Ⅰ)

오늘날 서사는 대량으로 생산되고 소비된다. 대중은 이제 서사를 더 이상 각성과 성찰의 대상이 아니라 소비와 향유의 대상으로 인식한다. 대중성 강화 전략에 대한 논의가 필요한 것은 서사에 대한 대중의 인식 변화에서 기인한다. 특히 서사전환은 매체와 장르전환을 통하여 대중의 향유력을 강화하는 방향으로 전개되어야 한다는 점에서 그 필요성이 더 더욱 요구된다. 따라서 본 연구는 서사전환을 성공적으로 수행하기 위한 필수 요소 가운데 하나인 대중성 강화 전략 수립을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 문헌조사 방법과 온라인조사 방법을 병행하였다. 먼저 서사 작품의 대중성과 관련된 이론적 근거를 문헌자료를 중심으로 검토하였다. 그리고 논의의 객관성을 강화하기 위하여 인터넷과 국내외 D/B 그리고 네트워크 등을 통해 본 연구 주제와 관련된 사례를 수집하고 이를 적극적으로 반영하였다. 연구범위는 서사구성으로 제한하였는데, 이는 지면의 제약 등 여러 가지 사유 때문이다. 또한 본 연구를 통해 수립된 전략의 유효성 여부를 입증하기 위한 사례분석이 필수적이다. 그러나 이 또한 위와 같은 사유 때문에 별도의 논문을 통해 논의할 것이다. 주지하는 바와 같이 문화콘텐츠는 문화적 가치와 산업적 가치의 상생적 결합이 필수적이다. 그런 점에서 대중성 강화 전략은 산업적 가치를 실현하기 위한 실질적 기능을 수행한다는 측면에서 그리고 주로 문화적 가치를 파악하는데 주력하고 있는 작금의 연구환경에 균형감각을 기대할 수 있다는 점 등에서 일정한 의미를 갖는다. 끝으로 대중의 공통적 성향이나 보편적 취향을 구체화하기 위한 대중화 전략에 관한 본 연구를 기점으로 관련 분야 연구가 더욱 더 확산되기를 기대한다. Narrative is widely made and consumed these days. People appreciate the story as consumer goods and entertainment things rather than introspection and awakening. The strategy of popularization is needed for that reason that the change of people"s awareness to the narrative. Especially, The adaptation is going out to the way of strength which is ruled by people"s likeness. For that reason the necessity is widely demanded. So this study has purpose to make strategy of strength of popularization. For the doing this purpose, I research the papers and on-line content. First, I try to find narrative structure, subject, materials, character and place in the research results. With this work, I deduct specific strategy with former researches. And for the objectivity, I reflect all of database on and off lines on this paper. The range of this study is limited within the strength of papularization, the case-study is necessary for the demonstration of result effectiveness. But the some reasons like shortage of papers, the case-study results would be published later. As well known, culture contents must combine the value of culture and industry. So this study has some meaning that the value of culture and the value of industry would be recognised at the same time and the purpose of popularization should have this kind of awareness. Lastly I finished this study with expectation that the result of this study would be going on to the other researchers.

서사전환의 목적은 문화콘텐츠의 가치를 극대화하여 대중화에 기여하는 것이다. 대중화는 대중의 공통적 성향이나 보편적 취향을 구체화하는 것이며, 이를 통해 향유의 지배소를 발굴하고 효과적 활용 방안을 모색하는 것이 대중성 강화전략이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 대중화를 실천하기 위한 구체적 방안을 모색하고 이를 실천하기 위한 전략을 수립하는 것이다. 선행연구는 주로 비평론적 방법을 활용하여 보편적 원리 창출 및 실천적 전략 수립을 제시하는데 실패하였다. 그리고 대중소비 사회로 전환하고 있는 현대사회의 문화적 특수성을 간과하는 등 그 한계를 드러내고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 문헌 조사 방법과 온라인 조사 방법을 병행하는 연구방법을 활용하여 선행연구의 한계를 극복하고자 하였다. 이와 같은 연구방법은 향후 서사전환 전략을 비롯하여 다양한 분야에 유용한 지침을 제공해줄 것이다. 그런 점에서 본 연구는 다음과 같은 점에서 일정한 의의를 갖는다. 첫째, 서사전환에서 가장 중요한 과제인 대중성 강화를 위한 구체적 전략을 제시했다는 점. 둘째, 대중이 문화콘텐츠 소비의 주체로 부상하고 있는 현대사회의 특성을 새롭게 확인할 수 있게 해주었다는 점 그리고 이 분야와 관련된 연구의 활성화에 기여했다는 사실이다. 본 연구를 계기로 서사전환 전략에 대한 논의가 확장되고 심화되는 한편 한국 문화콘텐츠의 경쟁력이 강화되는데 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다. The objective goal of narrative adaptation is for the popularity with maximization of culture contents value. The popularity is materialization of people’s common likeness and universal taste. with this concept the reinforcement strategy of popularity is that the excavation of main enjoyment element and groping of effective utilization method. So the purpose of this study is to make strategy and to find out definite method which are for the practice of popularity The former researches are failed to make utilization strategy and universal principle by doing mainly with critic research methodology. and they showed their limits on contemporary cultural unique specificity in these days of public consumption society. For this reason this study would tried to overcome the limits of former researches using with related papers and on-off line data. This kind of methodology would gives some useful guidelines like story adaptation strategy later. with this point of view, this study have some meanings. The first is suggestion of specific strategy for the reinforcement popularity. The second is confirmation of contemporary specificity in these days of public consumption. The last is that this study would give some contributions for the vitalization of this kind research field. Taking this opportunity of this study, I hope that the debates which are related with narrative adaptation strategies would be widen and deepen. And this study could contribute to strengthen of Korean culture contents competitiveness also.

단군신화에서의 구조 및 특성 연구

본고는 현재 우리의 가장 오래된 신화적 원형을 지닌 단군신화의 구조와 특성에 대해 고찰한다. 기본적으로 신화에는 비현실이 현실로, 불가능이 가능으로 이야기 속에 등장하고 용인되는 경우가 있다. 그리고 이런 보편적인 특성이 단군신화에서도 보인다. 그렇다면 단군신화의 어떤 점이 이런 것을 용인하게 하는가. 이를 구조화하면 신화적 특성과 신화적 구조가 동시에 내재되면 앞서의 특성이 용인되는 것으로 판단된다. 본고에서는 이를 5,6장의 잠재적 삼각구조로 된 단군신화를 이항 대립구조로 해석되는 대부분의 서계 신화론과 비교(3장)하면서 논의하고 단군신화의 잠재적 삼각구조 설정이유가 서계 신화적 특성보다 대중적이고 보편적인 성향의 확보에 목적이 있었다는 점에 대하여도 논의한다. 단군신화의 구조인 잠재적 삼각구조는 단군신화의 서사특성과 맞물려 신화의 목적인 대중성을 성취하였고 부수적으로 신화의 정치성도 성취한 것으로 보인다. 신화를 만들어 낸 사람들의 문화와 철학, 그리고 서사구조를 전개하는 양상에 따라 서계 신화 해석의 근간인 이항 대립의 변개가 달라진다. 변개는 설화적 구성력에 따라 내용을 달리하게 된다. 신화에서의 설화적 구성력은 신화의 대표적 구조인 이항 대립구조를 갖추고 그 위에 덧붙여 변화를 추구하는 것으로 나타난다.초월성과 우연성 그리고 신이와 현실감과 사회적 관계성이 어울려 대중적인 전승과 재미를 이끌어내게 되는 요소로 작용한다. 더하여 단군의 신성을 위해 하늘의 절대성이 단군에게 미치도록 했다. 타당성까지 고려한 것이다. 상반되는 두 성질을 한 곳에 융합시키는 신화적 서사기법을 사용한 것이다. 신화적 특성은 여러 가지로 규정될 것이나 본고에서는 신성성을 중심으로 이에 부수되는 신화의 대중성, 정당성, 당위성, 정치성, 종속성의 측면도 살폈다. 종속적인 측면을 상술하지 못한 것은 다양한 관점이 포함될 수 있는 여지가 많아 논의의 확대를 경계하고자 약술의 방식으로 언급하였다. 결국 이런 종합적 시각으로 추후의 현대희곡의 서사와 연결하고 재생산하려는 의도이기 때문이다. 또한 신성성은 시간이나 공간적 제한 등이 일상적이지 않다. 그리고 이런 신화속에 신성을 드러내는 상황과 그렇지 않은 상황은 이항 대립의 구조 속에 놓여진다. 단군신화에서 드러나는 초월적 존재에게 다가서는 두 동물의 인간이 되고픈 욕망의 구현은 인간을 중간자로 설정한 후에 초월자를 통해 하등 관계의 존재가 중간적 존재 혹은 그 이상이 되고자 하는 의지를 표명하게 만든다. 이를 통해 국가의 기반을 지닌 사람 역시 상대적으로 심리적 보상을 받게 되며, 지배층의 존재는 단순하게 동일한 계층을 넘어서는 특별한 존재로 부각된다. 결국 신화의 향유계층이 모두 만족하게 되는 양상을 드러내는 방식으로 작용한 점이 되는 것이다.
