Quadrature Correlated Superposition Modulation: Practical Perspective of Correlated Superposition Coding

Chung, Kyuhyuk The Institute of Internet 2021 International Journal of Internet, Broadcasting an Vol.13 No.3

Recently, a lossless non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) implementation without successive interference cancellation (SIC) has been proposed in the literature of NOMA. This lossless non-SIC NOMA was achieved via correlated superposition coding (CSC), in contrast to conventional independent superposition coding (ISC). However, only the achievable data rates for CSC NOMA were investigated. Thus, this paper proposes a practical CSC NOMA scheme under Rayleigh fading channel environments. First, we design the practical CSC NOMA scheme, namely quadrature correlated superposition modulation (CSM) NOMA, without channel coding, i.e., uncoded systems. In addition, we calculate the symbol error rates (SERs) for this quadrature CSM NOMA scheme. Then, simulations demonstrate that for the weak channel gain's user, the SER performance of the proposed quadrature CSM NOMA is shown to be improved greatly, compared to that of the conventional quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) NOMA, whereas for the strong channel gain's user, the SER performance of the proposed quadrature CSM NOMA degrades a little, compared to that of the conventional QAM NOMA. As a result, the proposed quadrature CSM NOMA scheme could be considered as a practical NOMA scheme for CSC NOMA schemes toward the fifth-generation (5G) and next generation communications.

Vol.15 No.6

This paper investigates the achievable data rate for the single-user decoding(SUD) receiver, which does not perform successive interference cancellation(SIC), in contrast to the conventional SIC non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) scheme. First, the closed-form expression for the achievable data rate of SUD NOMA with correlated information sources(CIS) is derived, for the stronger channel user. Then it is shown that for the stronger channel user, the achievable data rate of SUD NOMA with independent information sources(IIS) is generally inferior to that of conventional SIC NOMA with IIS. However, for especially highly CIS, we show that the achievable data rate of SUD NOMA is greatly superior to that of conventional SIC NOMA. In addition, to verify the impact of CIS on the achievable data rate of SUD, the extensive comparisons of the achievable data rates for the SUD receiver and the SIC receiver are compared for various correlation coefficients.

A Spectral Efficient NOMA-based Two-Way Relaying Scheme for Wireless Networks with Two Relays

2021 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.15 No.1

This paper proposes a novel two-way relaying (TWR) approach for a two-relay wireless network based on non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), where two terminals exchange messages with a cellular base station (BS) via two intermediate relay stations (RSs). We propose a NOMA-based TWR approach with two relaying schemes, i.e., amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF), referred to as NOMA-AF and NOMA-DF. The sum-rate performance of our proposed NOMA-AF and NOMA-DF is analyzed. A closed-form sum-rate upper bound for the NOMA-AF is obtained, and the exact ergodic sum-rate of NOMA-DF is also derived. The asymptotic sum-rate of NOMA-AF and NOMA-DF is also analyzed. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms conventional orthogonal multiple access based transmission schemes. It is also shown that increasing the transmit power budget of the relays only cannot always improve the sum-rates.

Unipodal 2PAM NOMA without SIC: toward Super Ultra-Low Latency 6G

2021 International Journal of Internet, Broadcasting an Vol.13 No.1

While the fifth generation (5G) and beyond 5G (B5G) mobile communication networks are being rolled over the globe, several world-wide companies have already started to prepare the sixth generation (6G). Such 6G mobile networks targets ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC). In this paper, we challenge to reduce the inherent latency of existing non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in 5G networks of massive connectivity. First, we propose the novel unipodal binary pulse amplitude modulation (2PAM) NOMA, especially without SIC, which greatly reduce the latency in existing NOMA. Then, the achievable data rates for the unipodal 2PAM NOMA are derived. It is shown that for unequal gain channels, the sum rate of the unipodal 2PAM NOMA is comparable to that of the standard 2PAM NOMA, whereas for equal gain channels, the sum rate of the unipodal 2PAM NOMA is superior to that of the standard 2PAM NOMA. In result, the unipodal 2PAM could be a promising modulation scheme for NOMA systems toward 6G.

Achievable Sum Rate of NOMA with Negatively-Correlated Information Sources

2021 Journal of Advanced Smart Convergence Vol.10 No.1

As the number of connected smart devices and applications increases explosively, the existing orthogonal multiple access (OMA) techniques have become insufficient to accommodate mobile traffic, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). Fortunately, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks has been regarded as a promising solution, owing to increased spectral efficiency and massive connectivity. In this paper, we investigate the achievable data rate for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with negatively-correlated information sources (CIS). For this, based on the linear transformation of independent random variables (RV), we derive the closed-form expressions for the achievable data rates of NOMA with negatively-CIS. Then it is shown that the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA increases for the stronger channel user, whereas the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA decreases for the weaker channel user, compared to that of the positively-CIS NOMA for the stronger or weaker channel users, respectively. We also show that the sum rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA is larger than that of the positively-CIS NOMA. As a result, the negatively-CIS could be more efficient than the positively-CIS, when we transmit CIS over 5G NOMA networks.

Analysis on Achievable Data Rate of Asymmetric 2PAM for NOMA

2020 Journal of Advanced Smart Convergence Vol.9 No.4

Nowadays, the advanced smart convergences of the artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) have been more and more important, in the fifth generation (5G) and beyond 5G (B5G) mobile communication. In 5G and B5G mobile networks, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been extensively investigated as one of the most promising multiple access (MA) technologies. In this paper, we investigate the achievable data rate for the asymmetric binary pulse amplitude modulation (2PAM), in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). First, we derive the closed-form expression for the achievable data rate of the asymmetric 2PAM NOMA. Then it is shown that the achievable data rate of the asymmetric 2PAM NOMA reduces for the stronger channel user over the entire range of power allocation, whereas the achievable data rate of the asymmetric 2PAM NOMA increases for the weaker channel user improves over the power allocation range less than 50%. We also show that the sum rate of the asymmetric 2PAM NOMA is larger than that of the conventional standard 2PAM NOMA, over the power allocation range larger than 25%. In result, the asymmetric 2PAM could be a promising modulation scheme for NOMA of 5G systems, with the proper power allocation.

Vol.59 No.-

This study analyse the Noma manri mainly concerns the changes of reality in the text. And the study examines closely interior consciousness of Kim Sa-Ryang who changed from a writer to a revolutionist. Kim Sa-Ryang wrote this work three times. So there are three types version of Noma-manri. Firstly, YeonAn Mangmyeonggi-Sanchaegi(Exile report to YeonAn) was published as subhead 󰡔Jongi sodong(Paper Disturbance)󰡕 and Dambaewa Bul(Cigarette and Fire). These works are constructed as episode. I examined literary self-conscious that is continuous with 'paper' and private desire that is continuous with 'cigarette/fire' in this chapter. This way shows interior consciousness of Kim Sa-Ryang who changed from a writer to a revolutionist. Second, Noma manri-YeonAn Mangmyeonggi is the work that is reported full-scale itinerary over episode construction. Kim Sa-Ryang rewroted lively the itinerary from the morning that he left his homeland in. I considered 'the things that he didn't want to expose' through direction of narration. Third, Noma manri is a complete text that include itinerary from PyungYang to NamJang town, TaeHang Mountain where is anti-Japan's base region. I studied that 'the things that he didn't want to expose' is retrenched and deleted on purpose. This fact shows that social-ego overwhelm private desire. The course of text as YeonAn Mangmyeonggi-Sanchaegi → Noma manri-YeonAn Mangmyeonggi → Noma manri indicates writer consciousness that retains past memory and distance. This expresses writer's private desire that is caused by detailed tension from 'something to want to tell' to 'something not to want to tell'. This means that social-ego overcomes private-ego.

BER Performance Comparison for Intelligent Reflecting Surface in NOMA : Phase Shifts Perspective

2022 Journal of Advanced Smart Convergence Vol.11 No.3

As the sixth generation (6G) promising technique, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) has recently attracted much attention. The IRS based wireless communication is expected to deploy the upcoming 6G mobile networks, to increase energy and spectrum efficiency in the fifth generation (5G) wireless networks. In this paper, we compare the bit-error rate (BER) performances for phase-shift schemes of IRS non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). First, we derive a BER expression for the equalizing phase-shift scheme in IRS-NOMA networks. Then we compare the BER of the equalizing phase-shift scheme to that of the identical phase-shift scheme in IRS-NOMA networks, and show the BER improvement of the equalizing phase-shift scheme IRS NOMA over the identical phase-shift scheme IRS NOMA. Furthermore, we also validate the proposed analytical BER for the equalizing phase-shift scheme in IRS-NOMA by Monte Carlo simulations, and demonstrate that they well match each other.
