        착용형 시선 추적 장치의 스포츠 분야 적용을 위한 적외선 조명 변화 최소화에 관한 연구

        In this paper, a simple optical method that uses an infrared(IR) cut filter is proposed to minimize variation of eye image by external infrared(IR) sources in a video based head mounted eye tracking system that is used in the field of sports. For this, the IR cut filter is attached to a head mount of the eye tracking system, and the camera with an IR LED is located between the IR cut filter and eye. In this structure, external IR is blocked by the IR cut filter, and the IR intensity on the eye can be controlled by the IR LED. Therefore, the illumination condition of the camera to capture the eye can be stable without being affected by external IR illuminations. To verify the proposed idea, variation of the eye image and intensity of the IR with/without the IR cut filter is measured under various illumination conditions. The measured data show that the IR cut filter method can block external IR effectively, and complex pupil detection algorithms can be replaced by a simple binarized method.

        Application of Taguchi method to satellite image fusion for object-oriented mapping of Barchan dunes

        In this study, a wavelet-based method and some standard fusion methods were performed on IRS Panchromatic and multi-spectral images to benefit from its spatial and spectral advantages simultaneously. Selection of the best fusion parameters using a trial and error approach is often very time-consuming. So the best wavelet-based fusion parameters were determined using optimization Taguchi method and the importance degree of these parameters in wavelet-based image fusion efficiency were figured out. As a preliminary result, image fusion with Db4 as the wavelet type in which images were decomposed in level 4 with the Maximum and Mean functions as fusion methods for approximations and details is the best wavelet-based fusion method. The method has been compared with several standard fusion techniques according to spectral and spatial characteristics of participating bands. The results indicate that the wavelet based method presents a better spectral performance than the standard ones (R = 0.96), but PCA fusion method has a better spatial performance (RMSE = 1.06). This study also indicates that Taguchi method can be used accurately in order to optimize the performance of wavelet-based image fusion and determine the importance degree of parameters used in this method. Finally, a pixel-based and an object-oriented classification procedure have been employed to delineate barchan dunes using the fused images. The results show that object-oriented approach outperforms pixel-based approach in classifying barchan dunes (Kappa = 0.73 for pixel-based and Kappa = 0.87 for object-oriented). It is also demonstrated that the wavelet-based fused images are better inputs for classification processes than the others.

        A modified index for damage detection of structures using improved reduction system method

        The modal strain energy method is one of the efficient methods for detecting damage in the structures. Due to existing some limitations in real-world structures, sensors can only be located on a limited number of degrees of freedom (DOFs) of a structure. Therefore, the mode shape values in all DOFs of structures cannot be measured. In this paper, a modified modal strain energy based index (MMSEBI) is introduced to locate damaged elements of structures when a limited number of sensors are used. The proposed MMSEBI is based on the reconstruction of mode shapes using Improved Reduction System (IRS) method. Therefore, in the first step by employing IRS method, mode shapes in slave degrees of freedom are estimated by those of master degrees of freedom. In the second step, the proposed MMSEBI is used to located damage elements. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method, two numerical examples are considered under different damage patterns considering the measurement noise. Moreover, the universal threshold based on statistical hypothesis testing principles is applied to damage index values. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed MMSEBI for the structural damage localization when comparing with the available damage index named MESBI. The results demonstrate that the presented method can be used as a practical strategy for structural damage identification, especially when a limited number of sensors are installed on the structure. Finally, the combination of MMSEBI and IRS method can provide a reliable tool to identify the location of damage accurately.

        Ir 전극 계면에서 위상이동 방법 및 상관계수를 이용한 수소의 흡착동온식 결정

        백금족/수용액 계면에서 Langmuir, Frumkin, Temkin 흡착등온식(${\theta}\;vs.\;E$)을 결정하기 위해 최적중간주파수 일 때 위상이동($0^{\circ}{\leq}-{\varphi}{\leq}90^{\circ}$) 거동($-{\varphi}\;vs.\;E$)과 표면피복율($1{\geq}{\theta}{\geq}0$) 거동(${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) 사이의 선형 관계식 연구에 관한 위상이동 방법 및 상관계수를 제안하고 증명하였다. Ir/0.1 M KOH수용액 계면에서 음극 $H_2$ 발생 반응에 관한 수소의 Langmuir 및 Temkin 흡착등온식(${\theta}\;vs.\;E$), 평형상수(Langmuir 흡착등온식: $K=3.3{\times}10^{-4}mol^{-1}$, Temkin 흡착등온식: $K=3.3{\times}10^{-3}{\exp}(-4.6{\theta})\;mol^{-1}$), 상호작용 파라미터(Temkin 흡착등온식: g=4.6), 표준자유에너지($K=3.3{\times}10^{-4}mol^{-1}$ 일 때 ${\Delta}G_{ads}^0=19.9kJ\;mol^{-1},\;K=3.3{\times}10^{-3}{\exp}(-4.6{\theta})\;mol^{-1}$ 및 $0.2<{\theta}<0.8$일 때 $16.5<{\Delta}G_{\theta}^0<23.3kJ\;mol^{-1}$)를 결정한다. 수소 흡착부위의 비균일 및 측 방향 상호작용 효과는 무시할 수 있다. ${\theta}$의 중간값 즉, $0.2<{\theta}<0.8$일 때 Langmuir 또는 Frumkin 흡착등온식과 상관관계에 있는 Temkin 흡착등온식은 상관계수를 이용하여 쉽게 결정할 수 있다. 위상이동 방법 및 상관계수는 흡착동온식(${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) 및 연관된 전극속도론과 열역학 파라미터(K, g, ${\Delta}G_{ads}^0, {\Delta}G_{\theta}^0$)를 결정하기 위한 정확하고 확실한 기술 및 방법이다. The phase-shift method and correlation constants for studying a linear relationship between the behavior ($-{\varphi}\;vs.\;E$) of the phase shift ($0^{\circ}{\leq}-{\varphi}{\leq}90^{\circ}$) for the optimum intermediate frequency and that (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) of the fractional surface coverage ($1{\geq}\theta{\geq}0$) have been proposed and verified to determine the Langmuir, Frumkin, and Temkin adsorption isotherms (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) at noble metal/aqueous electrolyte interfaces. At an Ir/0.1 M KOH aqueous electrolyte interface, the Langmuir and Temkin adsorption isotherms (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$), equilibrium constants ($K=3.3{\times}10^{-4}\;mol^{-1}$ for the Langmuir and $K=3.3{\times}10^{-3}{\exp}(-4.6{\theta})\;mol^{-1}$ for the Temkin adsorption isotherm), interaction parameter (g = 4.6 for the Temkin adsorption isotherm), and standard free energies (${\Delta}G_{ads}^0=19.9kJ\;mol^{-1}\;for\;K=3.3{\times}10^{-4}\;mol^{-1}$ and $16.5<{\Delta}G_{\theta}^0<23.3\;kJ\;mol^{-1}\;for\;K=3.3{\times}10^{-3}{\exp}(-4.6{\theta})\;mol^{-1}\;and\;0.2<\theta<0.8$) of H for the cathodic $H_2$ evolution reaction are determined using the phase-shift method and correlation constants. The inhomogeneous and lateral interaction effects on the adsorption of H are negligible. At the intermediate values of ${\theta},\;i.e,\;0.2<{\theta}<0.8$, the Temkin adsorption isotherm (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) correlating with the Langmuir or the Frumkin adsorption isotherm (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$), and vice versa, is readily determined using the correlation constants. The phase-shift method and correlation constants are accurate and reliable techniques to determine the adsorption isotherms (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) and related electrode kinetic and thermodynamic parameters(K, g, ${\Delta}G_{ads}^0, {\Delta}G_{\theta}^0$).

        An estimation method for radiation contrast via the inverse distance weighting

        Detection of an object exposed to natural environmental conditions can be performed by using an IR sensor. In this instance the radiantcontrast between the object and the background is an important parameter. There are various ways of estimating the radiant contrast developedfor many types of backgrounds. To estimate the radiant contrast accurately it is necessary to reflect the near field backgroundeffectively. In this study we propose a radiation contrast estimation method called the inverse distance weighted method and this is comparedwith the existing methods as the areal intensity method and the row pixel method. Comparisons are made for two different types ofbackgrounds including the municipal and the oceanic scenes. From this study we conclude that the method called the inverse distanceweighted method suggested in this study most effectively reflects the near field effect of the background around the object.

        위상이동 방법에 의한 다결정 $Ir/H_2SO_4$ 수성 전해질 계면에서 과전위 수소흡착에 관한 해석

        다결정 $Ir/H_2SO_4$수성 전해질 계면에서 중간주파수 구간의 위상이동 변화와 Langmuir흡착등온식 사이의 관계를 교류임피던스 방법 즉 위상이동 방법을 이용하여 연구 조사하였다. 간소화된 계면 등가회로는 전해질저항(Rs), Faraday저항$(R_F)$, 흡착유사용량$(C_\phi)$ 등가회로 요소$(C_P)$의 직렬접속으로 구성된다. 음전위(E)에 대한 위상이동$(-\phi)$과 표면피복율$(\theta)$ 변화율$[\Delta(-\phi)/{\Delta}E,\;{\Delta}{\theta}/{\Delta}E]$을 비교 및 제시하였다. 지연되는 위상이동$(-\phi)$은 음전위(E) 및 주파수(f)에 따르며, $\phi=tan^{-1}[1/2{\pi}f(R_s+R_F)C_P]$이다. 중간주파수(1 Hz)에서 위상이동 변화$(-\phi\;vs.\;E)$는 Langmuir흡착등온식 $(\theta\;vs.\;E)$의 결정에 적용할 수 있는 실험적인 방법이다. 다결정 Ir/0.1 M $H_2SO_4$ 전해질 계면에서 수소의 흡착평형상수(K)와 흡착표준자유에너지 $({\Delta}G_{ads})$는 각각 $2.0\times10^{-4}$와 21.1kJ/mol이며 과전위 수소흡착(OPD H)에 기인한다. The relation between the phase-shift profile fur the intermediate frequencies and the Langmuir adsorption isotherm at the poly-Ir/0.1 M $H_2SO_4$ aqueous electrolyte interface has been studied using ac impedance measurements, i.e., the phase-shift methods. The simplified interfacial equivalent circuit consists of the serial connection of the electrolyte resistance $(R_s)$, the faradaic resistance $(R_F)$, and the equivalent circuit element $(C_P)$ of the adsorption pseudoca-pacitance $(C_\phi)$. The comparison of the change rates of the $\Delta(-\phi)/{\Delta}E\;and\;\Delta{\theta}/{\Delta}E$ are represented. The delayed phase shift $(\phi)$ depends on both the cathode potential (E) and frequency (f), and is given by $\phi=tan^{-1}[1/2{\pi}f(R_s+R_F)C_P]$. The phase-shift profile $(-\phi\;vs.\;E)$ for the intermediate frequency (ca. 1 Hz) can be used as an experimental method to determine the Langmuir adsorption isotherm $(\theta\;vs.\;E)$. The equilibrium constant (K) for H adsorption and the standard free energy $({\Delta}G_{ads})$ of H adsorption at the poly-Ir/0.1 M $H_2SO_4$ electrolyte interface are $2.0\times10^{-4}$ and 21.1kJ/mol, respectively. The H adsorption is attributed to the over-potentially deposited hydrogen (OPD H).

        수소 전착에 관한 다결정 Ir표면의 흡착부위 효과

        0.2M LiOH전해질 내의 다결정 Ir표면에서 저전위 및 과전위 전착된 수소(UPD H및 OPD H)의 전이와 2구별되는 흡착부위를 위상이동 방법을 이용하여 연구하였다 순방향과 역방향 주사시, 순환 전압전류도에 UPD H 봉우리가 나타난다. 위상이동 변화 또는 Langmuir흡착등온식에 전이영역(-0.80 to -0.95 V vs. SCE)이 나타난다. 전이영역(-0.80 to -0.95 V vs. SCE)에서 수소 흡착평형상수(K)는 $7.9\tiems10^{-2}$에서 $1.5\times10^{-4}$또는 $1.5\times10^{-4}$에서 $7.9\times10^{-2}$로 전이한다. 마찬가지로, 수소 흡착표준자유에너지$({\Delta}G_{ads})$도 6.3kJ/mol에서 21.8kJ/mol 또는 21.8kJ/mol에서 6.3kJ/mol로 전이한다. 다결정 Ir표면에서 UPD H와 OPD H는 구별이 가능한 2종류의 전착된 수소같이 작용한다. UPD H봉우리와 전이영역은 다결정 Ir 표면에서 UPD H와 OPD H의 2 구별되는 흡착부위에 기인한다. The two distinct adsorption sites and transition between the under and over-potentially deposited hydrogen (UPD H and OPD H) on the polycrystalline iridium (poly-Ir) surface in the 0.2 M LiOH electrolyte have been studied using the phase-shift method. At the forward and backward scans, the UPD H peak occurs on the cyclic voltam-mogram. The transition region on the phase-shift profile or the Langmuir adsorption isotherm occurs at ca. -0.80 to -0.95 V vs. SCE. At the transition region (-0.80 to -0.95 V vs. SCE), the equilibrium constant (K) for H adsorption transits from $7.9\times10^{-2}\;to\;1.5\times10^{-4}$ and vice versa. Similarly, the standard free energy $({\Delta}G_{ads})$ of H adsorption transits from 6.3 to 21.8kJ/mol and vice versa. The UPD H and OPD H on the poly-Ir surface act as two distinguishable electroadsorbed H species. Both the UPD H peak and the transition region are attributed to the two distinct adsorption sites of the UPD H and OPD H on the poly-Ir surface.

      • Investigation of the accuracy of different finite element model reduction techniques

        In this paper, various model reduction methods were assessed using a shear frame, plane and space truss structures. Each of the structures is one-dimensional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional, respectively. Three scenarios of poor, better, and the best were considered for each of the structures in which 25%, 40%, and 60% of the total degrees of freedom (DOFs) were measured in each of them, respectively. Natural frequencies of the full and reduced order structures were compared in each of the numerical examples to assess the performance of model reduction methods. Generally, it was found that system equivalent reduction expansion process (SEREP) provides full accuracy in the model reduction in all of the numerical examples and scenarios. Iterated improved reduced system (IIRS) was the second-best, providing acceptable results and lower error in higher modes in comparison to the improved reduced system (IRS) method. Although the Guyan's method has very low levels of accuracy. Structures were classified with the excitation frequency. High-frequency structures compared to low-frequency structures have been poor performance in the model reduction methods (Guyan, IRS, and IIRS).

        Buried objects detection in heterogeneous environment using UWB systems combined with curve fitting method

        A new method is proposed to improve the accuracy of locating buried objects in heterogeneous environments using a shifted time pulses with radio impulse ultra wide band (IR-UWB), time-hopping pulse position modulation (TH-BPSK UWB), binary phase shift keying (TH-BPSK UWB) systems combine with the least square curve fitting method (LSCFM). The analytical expression is validated by simulation and the locating errors used to assess the performance of systems. The numerical results indicate that the proposed method has higher accuracy than the conventional ones.

        비접촉 생체신호 측정 기반 헬스케어 시스템 설계 및 구현

        급격한 노령화가 의료 시설의 부족과 이로 인한 국민 건강의 질적 하락을 가져올 가능성이 점차 높아지고 있으며 의료비 상승의 부담을 해소하기 위해 선진국에서는 서비스 단가를 낮추기 위한 의료 기관들의 원격의료가 확대되고 있는 추세이다. 유헬스케어는 인체에서 발생하는 물리적, 화학적 현상의 변화를 감지하여 처리가능한 전기적 신호로 변환하고 측정된 신호 중에서 원하는 정보만을 선택하기 위한 분석과정, 시각화 과정을 통해 결과를 피드백하여 관련정보, 경고, 알람 등을 사용자에게 제공하는 과정을 통해 서비스되고 있다. 하지만 센서를 신체에 직접 부착하는 전통적인 생체계측 방법은 일상생활에 불편을 주고 거부감이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 일상생활에 불편함을 주지 않고 지속적으로 생체 정보를 측정할 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 일상생활에 불편을 주지 않고 지속적으로 생체정보를 모니터링 할 수 있는 IR-UWB 기반의 비접촉. 무구속적인 호흡측정 시스템을 제안한다. The rapid aging is increasing as the shortage of medical facilities and the resulting of decline in the quality of public health. In order to ease the burden of rising medical expenses, advanced medical institutions are expanding their remote medical care to lower the cost of services. U-healthcare detects the changes in physical and chemical phenomena occurring in the human body and converts them into electrical signals that can be processed and feeds back to the results through analytical and visualization processes to select only the desired information from the measured signals. The service is provided through a process of providing an alarm to a user. However, traditional biometric methods of attaching sensors directly to the body can be annoying and rejected in daily life. Therefore, there is a need for a method of continuously measuring biometric information without causing inconvenience to daily life. In this paper, we propose an IR-UWB-based non-contact and non-responsive respiratory measurement system that can continuously monitor biological information without any inconveniences to daily life.
