The aim of IAAF's Biomechanics project, initially launched at the 1987 World Championships in Rome, is to support athletes and coaches in optimization and improvement of their training and competition performance. The IAF and the IAAF supports biomechanical projects, as a service to their Member Federations, starting from the IAAF World Championships in Rome 1987. In 1997, at the IAAF World Championships of Athens. In 1995, at the IAAF World Championships in Goteborg and in co-operation with the Swedish Sport Institute of Karlstad and under the leadership of Anders Bergstrom a biomechanical research on “Throws” was conducted. In 2005, at the IAAF World Championships in Helsinki on 100m - Pole vault , High Jump, Triple Jump, Javelin , under the leadership of Prof. Paavo Komi. The IAAF published the final report in 2008 with a supplement of NSA. In 2007, at the IAAF World Championships of Osaka, in co-operation with Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences and under the leadership of Prof. Michiyoshi Ae the IAAF received a final report on; short sprint, distance running , high jump , long jump, shot put and javelin. In 2009, at the IAAF World Championships of Berlin, in co-operation with the DLV and the leadership of Helmar Hommel (GER). The purpose of this study is to draw up a plan to perform effective biomechanics project at 2011 IAAF World championship in Daegu.

No Struggle, No Progress: The Historical Significance of the Governance Structure Reform of the International Association of Athletics Federation

International sport federations’ (IFs) dealing with challenging issuessuch as corruption and manipulation in sport has recently gainedprominence in terms of policy, practice and as a subject ofacademic interest. Researchers stress the significance of implementing governance standards in order to raise ethical standards in sportorganizations, specifically the federations and points towards pastfailures. However, there is only a limited body of research that hasoutlined the historical development of structural changes within IFs. To address this limitation, this paper reviews the history of keypolicy changes within the International Association of AthleticsFederations (IAAF) in an attempt to contextualize its newestorganizational changes, implemented by an extensive governancestructure reform. The findings suggest that the Federation’s pastorganizational structures offer an explanation for recent allegationsof corruption and manipulation within the IAAF.

The purpose of this study in to examine The causal model among perceived value, local attachment, perceived usefulness and behavioral intentions about IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011. Data was collected from 566 Daegu citizen who visit at IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011. AMOS 18.0 program was used in this study for verifying research model. The results are as follow. Perceived value of IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 had a significant effect on local attachment. Perceived value of IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 had a significant effect on perceived usefulness. Perceived value of IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 had a significant effect on behavioral intentions. Local attachment of visiting at IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 had a significant effect on behavioral intentions. Perceived usefulness of visiting at IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 had a significant effect on behavioral intentions.

대구세계육상선수권 대회의 안전활동에 대한 경찰과 민간경비의 인식분석

국제행사의 개최에 따른 경제적 효과가 크기 때문에 많은 국가들은 국제행사를 개최하고 싶어한다. 그러나 국제행사의 개최보다 더욱 중요한 것은 시민과 행사참여자가 서로 불편함이 없이 안전하고 성공적인 국제행사를 치루는 것이다. 따라서 이 연구는 대구세계육상선수권 대회의 질서유지업무에 직접 참여한 경찰과 민간경비를 대상으로 안전영역과 질서영역 그리고 서비스 제공영역에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 평가결과 경찰과 민간경비가 세계육상선수권대회의 안전성, 질서의식, 서비스 등의 측면에 대한 전반적인 인식은 보통이상으로 유의미한 차이는 나타나지 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 그러나 안전측면에 있어서 경찰은 경찰주도의 안전관리가 이루어 졌다고 인식하였으며, 민간경비는 민간경비주도의 안전관리가 이루어졌다고 인식하고 있어 집단 간의 차이가 나타났다. 한편 시민응대의 친절성에 있어서도 경찰은 경찰집단이 시민응대에 친절하였다고 인식하는 정도가 민간경비보다 높았으며, 민간경비는 민간경비가 시민응대에 친절하였다고 인식하는 정도가 경찰보다 높았다. 이번 대구세계육상선수권 대회는 경찰과 민간경비가 함께 안전활동에 참여한 최초의 국제대회로 앞으로 수익자부담의 원칙에 의해 민간 경비의 참여가 활성화될 것이란 점을 고려한다면 경찰과 민간경비의 안전, 질서, 서비스 활동에 관해 집단별 인식을 평가한 이 연구는 민간경비에 과제를 부여한 것이라고도 볼 수 있다. 즉, 민간경비는 공기관에서 경호경비에 관하여 믿고 담당할 수 있다는 신뢰를 주어야 할 것이기에 안전활동과 관련한 체계적 교육을 실시와 더불어 보다 친절하게 시민에게 다가서야 할 것으로 보인다. Since there are so many economic effects by hosting the international events, many countries want to hold international events. However the most important thing for holding the international event is that the safety of attendants at the event and the public. So this study's purpose is to evaluate the IAAF world championships in Daegu and to investigate the notion of police officers and private security guards who participated in and work the IAAF world championships in Daegu about the safety, order and providing services. When it comes to the study, the consciousness of the safety, order and providing services is more than normal the two groups and there are not significant different among the police officer group and private security group. In the part of the safety, the police officers thought that the police were intensively responsible for the safety management, however the private security guard thought that they were intensively responsible for the safety management. Also, the kindness to the public, the police officer grub thought that they are more kind to the public than private security guards on the other hand, the private security group thought oppositely. The IAAF world championships in Daegu is the first international event that the police and private security took part in the safety management of the game. So This study suggest followings. first the private security try to earn the police's trust about their role. second, the police and the private security should cooperate with each other in a part of education and training.

The purpose of this study was to find the biomechanical research project result carried out at 2011 IAAF World championship in Daegu. This project was approved by the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) and financially supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and, Korea Association of Athletics Federations (KAAF). The total number of the project members was 20, including the members of the Scientific Committee, the Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics (KSSB) and graduate students as assistants. The objective of this project has been to analyze the performance in the track events (100 m, 110mH) and field events (Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Javelin Throw and Shot Put). This project was focused on the biomechanical research only. This kind of analysis has been carried out at major competitions for more than a decade, as it provides coaches and athletes with very useful information as an aid to training programmes and competition preparation. The biomechanical analysis of the top athletes in the world in each specialty serves as a reference for assessing technique and rationalizing the results achieved. The results will be disseminated world-wide and coaches will be in a better position to design training strategies in line with current world trends.

국제스포츠행사의 중요성은 그동안 이 행사를 치러온 국가들의 상황을 살펴보면 더욱더 확연하다. 국제스포츠 행사를 통해 많은 국가들이 국제사회에서 자국의 이미지를 향상시키고, 경제적인 부가가치를 창출하였으며, 국민들의 자긍심을 일깨워 일등 세계시민으로서의 자부심을 갖게 하는 원동력이 되었다. 대구세계육상선수권대회가 우리에게 어떠한 의미를 가지는가? 첫째, 대구세계육상선수권대회 유치는 우리나라를 세계 3대 스포츠 이벤트를 모두 개최한 세계 7번째 국가로 위치시킴으로서 국민들의 자긍심을 높이는데 기여할 것이다. 둘째, 한국육상 발전의 기틀 마련, 스포츠 강국의 이미지 제고, 국제스포츠이벤트 연속적으로 개최할 수 있는 기틀마련, 경제적인 파급 효과로 인한 대구 지역산업 발전을 구축할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 2011대구세계육상선수권대회 개최의 그 특별한 의미만으로도 국가 스포츠 발전에 많은 영향을 끼칠 것이며, 대회를 마무리하고 난 이후에도 그러한 분위기 및 육상의 붐이 시들지 않도록 많은 지원과 관심이 지속되어야 한다. 2011 대구세계육상선수권대회 여자 100m 허들 선수들의 운동학적 분석

The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinematic characteristics of the 5th and 6th hurdle clearances during the final of the 100-m hurdles event at the IAAF World Championships, Daegu 2011. To this end, the hurdling motions of the top 4 ranked female hurdlers in the competition were analyzed. A total of 12 cameras were used to record their motions, with a sampling frequency of 120 Hz. The cameras were calibrated using 11×2×1 m control objects that covered all of the lanes (1st~ 8th lanes). After analyzing all the data, we arrived at the following results. For the take-off phase, a negative relationship between the take-off time (CT) and athlete`s rank was found. In addition, the average distances from the hurdle to take-off (L1) were shown to be 2.23 m and 2.17 m for the 5th and 6th hurdles, respectively. For the distance from the hurdle to landing (L2), Pearson (1st rank) and Carruthers (2nd rank) showed inconsistent patterns whereas Harper (3rd rank) and Porter (4th rank) showed consistent patterns. All althetes revealed similar 3 steps patterns between hurdles, which consisted of a shorter 1st step, longer 2nd step and shorter 3rd step.
