        Isolation Schemes of Virtual Network Platform for Cloud Computing

        Network virtualization supports future Internet environments and cloud computing. Virtualization can mitigate many hardware restrictions and provide variable network topologies to support variable cloud services. Owing to several advantages such as low cost, high flexibility, and better manageability, virtualization has been widely adopted for use in network virtualization platforms. Among the many issues related to cloud computing, to achieve a suitable cloud service quality we specifically focus on network and performance isolation schemes, which ensure the integrity and QoS of each virtual cloud network. In this study, we suggest a virtual network platform that uses Xen-based virtualization, and implement multiple virtualized networks to provide variable cloud services on a physical network. In addition, we describe the isolation of virtual networks by assigning a different virtualized network ID (VLAN ID) to each network to ensure the integrity of the service contents. We also provide a method for efficiently isolating the performance of each virtual network in terms of network bandwidth. Our performance isolation method supports multiple virtual networks with different levels of service quality.

        Optimized Provisioning of SDN-enabled Virtual Networks in Geo-distributed Cloud Computing Datacenters

        Cloud computing provides on-demand IT services vialarge distributed datacenters over high-speed networks. Virtualization,a key cloud computing technology, allows service providersto offer computing services in cloud environments without platformcompatibility discrepancies. The recent proliferation of cloudcomputing has rekindled interest in network virtualization. Thus,network virtualization is emerging as a polymorphic approachfor the future Internet that will facilitate the use of shared resources. Virtual network provisioning is considered to be a mainresource allocation challenge in any virtualized network environment. Software-defined networking (SDN) imparts flexibility toa network by removing the control layer from the data transferlayer of the network and moving it to the control plane. Networkvirtualization is further employed to share physical infrastructureto enable multiple service providers to access the network. Flexibleaccess requires efficient management of network resources; theSDN control plane can be used for efficient management of virtualnetworks. In this study, we formulate virtual network provisioningin SDN-enabled, geographically distributed cloud computing datacentersas a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) problem. The formulation of the proposed optimized virtual network provisioning(OVNP) model is studied by means of simulations. The performanceof the proposed approach is measured against enhancednetwork cloud provisioning (ENCP), our previous research, andother recognized research focused on the ratio of successfully provisionedrequests and the efficiency of resource utilization. The resultsverify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

      • Technical Consideration for Applying Cloud Computing Technologies in Telecommunication Networks

        The business benefits of Cloud computing to Cloud service providers, basically, come from the economy of scale. As a telecommunication operator who wants to become a major Cloud service provider successfully, the transformation of the current dedicated computing & network infrastructure into a commodity hardware-based Cloud computing infrastructures is necessary. In this position paper, we propose three technical consideration points for applying Cloud computing technologies into telecommunication operators' networks, i.e. Network Clouds. We think that guaranteeing time readiness, supporting service scalability and providing secure storage with cost-effectively are the most important things to be researched for realizing Network Clouds. Guaranteeing time readiness is necessary for running time sensitive network services on virtual machines. Supporting service scalability is required to run carrier-grade services safely and effectively using unreliable commodity computing machines, and providing secure storage to customers with cost-effectively is needed as a default service for introducing Cloud computing services into B2C and B2B areas. We present the results of experimentation to check the current state-of-the-art Cloud computing technologies for managing these consideration points. Finally, our on-going approach to transforming our telecommunication network equipments into a Network Cloud is described briefly.

        Emerging of cloud computing service has made network infrastructure a service component as NaaS (Network as a Service). Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customers systems and information is of the utmost importance to network provider, as is maintaining trust and confidence in cloud computing business which deals with critical information personal and enterprise properties Especially, a secure connectivity and E2E QoS between enterprise network and cloud data centers are mandatory condition with regard to enterprise cloud service. In this paper, we consider security requirements in WAN and LAN region of cloud network service and on the basis of that, we make an estimate the evolution of cloud service network.

      • The Framework of Social Networks Big Data Processing Based on Cloud Computing

        With the rise of cloud computing, internet of things, social networks, the type and scale of data in human society has increased at an unprecedented rate, making data from being a simple object to be process to being a basic resource. Fully mining the value of data resources that was hidden in SNS such Weibo Microblog, Wechat has become a common subject concerned by industrial circle, academic area and government departments. Although the distributed storage and analysis of cloud computing platform have been widely used in big data process of social networks, it has not been able to fully solve the problems of big data storage and process in social networks. In this paper, it proposed the big data process framework of social networks based on cloud computing. By adopting the mixing cloud model and coordinating the data storage framework and data computing framework, and regarding social networks features such as real-time, sharing, mobility, individuation, and interactivity, this big data process framework can be adopted to process large-scale massive amount of data, to research the unified management and sharing strategy of massive data, to propose data process strategy and the service application of big data such as Microblog and Wechat, and to discuss several urgent key problems in processing social networks big data.

        그래픽 처리장치 기반 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 셀룰러 네트워크 응용

        In general, cellular network is deployed as distributed network architecture, so network equipment is spread out all over the coverage area. This case causes high cost. Recently, centralized network architecture has been deployable at cellular network since base station was able to be virtualized due to advance in computing power. The centralized network architecture in cellular network adjusts its cell radius dynamically and minimizes power consumption of the network. This paper introduces a new centralized deployment way of cellular network using SDR and cloud computing technology. Then, advantage and feasibility of the new network will be reviewed by implementing this novel network.

        Cloud-Native의 확산: 정성적・정량적 연구기법을 이용한 공공부문의 클라우드 활성화 방안

        Cloud Native refers to the Technical Maturity Level of a cloud environment that can utilize all cloud resources to fully function. In converting public sector information resources to the cloud, the characteristics of the cloud are not being used well. Therefore, in this study, the qualitative research method cloud expert interview technique and the quantitative research method used text network analysis for domestic and foreign related articles. Through this, we analyzed the utilization trends related to domestic and foreign cloud natives and the cloud policies of developed countries. Through previous research, the core components of cloud-native were examined, and the need for agile methodologies that were not addressed in previous studies was raised. It is believed that these core components will be applied in the public sector to contribute to business innovation through digital innovation. In addition, this study aims to provide important implications for the use of cloud native in Korea through an in-depth discussion on how to spread cloud native in the public sector. 클라우드 네이티브(Cloud Native)는 클라우드 환경에서 모든 클라우드 자원을 활용하여 완벽히 작동할 수있는 기술적 발전 상태(Technical Maturity Level)를 의미한다. 공공부문의 정보자원을 클라우드로 전환하는데 있어 클라우드의 특성을 잘 활용하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정성적 연구방법인클라우드 전문가 인터뷰 기법과 정량적인 연구 방법으로 국내⋅외 관련 기사를 대상으로 텍스트 네트워크 분석을 이용하였다. 이를 통해 국내⋅외 클라우드 네이티브와 관련된 활용 동향 및 선진국의 클라우드 정책을 분석하였다. 선행연구를 통해 클라우드 네이티브 핵심 구성요소를 알아보고, 기존 연구에서 다루어지지 않은애자일 방법론의 필요성을 제기하였다. 이러한 핵심 구성요소를 공공부문에서 적용하여 디지털 혁신을 통한업무혁신에 기여할 것으로 생각된다. 또한, 본 연구에서는 공공부문의 클라우드 네이티브의 확산 방안에 대한 심도 있는 논의를 통해 국내 클라우드 네이티브 활용에 대한 중요한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

        스마트폰 클라우드 서비스에서의 개인정보 침해 유형 및 관계 법령에 대한 소고

        Various mobile services in smart phone are common for individual person as a majority of people becomes to use smart phone. Due to the development in technology, several services, which only were able to access in personal computer. are possible in smart phone through mobile app or web. Cloud service is one of these services. A problem is that the leaks of private data are deepening as the movement of big data becomes possible by using smart phone and communication network. Particularly, Cloud service which is more related in private data should be carefully managed by business operator. Recently, there are several cases of leaks on private data. Damages are growing and compensation for damages also become enormous. Cloud service in app has possibility on the infringement of data by network invaders. Furthermore, the phenomena of these problem in mobile cloud service is more various than other services. Although there were some arguments on Act of Cloud Computing for recent development in cloud service market and the danger of data infringement, still there is no independent law on cloud computing service in foreign country and Korea. The laws related in private data in present Korean law is ``Private Data Act`` and ``Communication Network Act``. However, as the Korea Communication Commission noticed ``Cloud Computing Act`` recently, it is also discussed in this article. If ``Cloud Computing Act`` is enacted by the National Assembly, the relation between ``Cloud Computing Act`` and other laws can be the problem. Therefore, expecting on these problem and finding solution are needed in the present situation.

        5G Cloud RAN에서 네트워크 공평성 향상을 위한 계층적 적응 스펙트럼 관리 방법

        본 논문에서는 셀 간 정보의 공유를 통한 협력이 가능한 연결된 네트워크 구조를 갖는 5G Cloud RAN 네트워크에 적용이 가능한 새로운 자원 관리 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 알고리즘은 네트워크 협력의 이점을 활 용하여 공정성과 처리량을 동시에 증가시킨다. 이러한 네트워크 성능 최적화는 허용이 가능한 양의 신호 처리 오버헤드 및 계산 복잡도 내에서 달성될 수 있으며 시뮬레이션 결과는 셀 외곽 사용자에 대한 네트워크 용량이 기존의 방법 대비 40% 가량 향상되었으며 사용자간 공정성 또한 Jain의 공평성 지수를 기준으로 약 23% 향상되 었음을 확인하였다. A new resource management algorithm is proposed for 5G networks which have a coordinated network architecture. By sharing the contol information among multiple neighbor cells and managing in centralized structure, the propsed algorithm fully utilizes the benefits of network coordination to increase fairness and throughput at the same time. This optimization of network performance is achieved while operating within a tolerable amount of signaling overhead and computational complexity. Simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme improve the network capacity up to 40% for cell edge users and provide network-wise fairness as much as 23% in terms of the well-knwon Jain’s Fainess Index.

        The present paper describes an approach to the construction of a sensor network using a messaging network. A messaging network is an over lay network with a set of content-aware message handling ca-pabilities. The use of a messaging network can reduce the complexity and maintenance burden of integrated sensor information systems. Message mediation(afunction of the messaging network) enables interoperation of various applications and integration of diverse sensor data. Subscription(an other concept in the messaging network) enables proper information delivery of the sensor data to each user. The proposed approach is helpful in implementing an SOA-based sensor network and enables flexible sensor network configuration and utilization.
