        요크셔 종빈돈의 검정성적에 영향하는 환경요인 추정

        This study was carry out to study on the on-farm performance test and the birth records of 9,086 gilts of Yorkshire purebred obtained from 2000 to 2010 in KAYA GGP. The effects of year of birth, season of birth, year of final test, season of final test, final test day on major economic traits such as days age at 90 kg, average daily gain, backfat thickness, eye muscle area and lean percent were analyzed. Regression and phenotypic correlation coefficients analyses were made to estimate the effects of economic traits on final test day. The results obtained from this study were summarized as follows;The means for each trait were 147.537 ± 12.401 days for age at 90 kg, 614.614 ± 56.900 g for average daily gain, 15.771 ± 3.071 mm for backfat thickness, 28.644 ± 3.634 cm2 for eye muscle area, 55.363 ± 3.901% for lean percent. Season of birth affected significantly backfat thickness, eye muscle area and lean percent. The backfat thickness was thinnest in summer by showing 15.385 ± 0.085 mm. Backfat thickness was thickest 16.361 ± 0.079 mm in winter. The eye muscle area, lean percent were highest in spring by showing 29.759 ± 0.091 cm2 and 56.221 ± 0.099%, respectively. As the year of birth passed, backfat thickness and days at 90 kg showed decreased. The performances of the fall test seasons showed significantly superior to other seasons by showing in days age at 90 kg and average daily gain. summer test season showed poor to other season. backfat thickness was thickness in fall Phenotypic correlation coefficients between all traits were significantly different. Significant negative phenotypic correlation coefficients were found between days to 90 and average daily gain, positive phenotypic correlation coefficients were found between days to 90 and backfat thickness, negative phenotypic correlation coefficients were found between average daily gain and backfat thickness. negative phenotypic correlation coefficients were found between backfat thickness and eye muscle area(-0294), backfat thickness and lean percent(-0.723), positive phenotypic correlation coefficients were found between eye muscle area and lean percent(0.586)Based on the results of regression coefficients analyses for the effects of economic traits on final test day, the estimated equation coefficients were -0.04 mm in backfat thickness, 0.02 cm2 in eye muscle area, and 0.03% in lean percent , -1.26 g in average daily gain, 0.61 days in days to 90 kg. Especially average daily gain, days to 90kg were found that affected economic traits. From the results described above, a simple conclusion that the final test day effect showed significant for all traits, and it could be considerable in terms of on-farm performance test in major economic traits. However, there could be various effects influencing economic traits, further research is needed to find out whether the effect is genetic or environmental. 본 연구에서는 2000 ~ 2010년까지 11년간 경남 소재 K 종돈장 Yorkshire 종빈돈 9,086두에 대한 자료를 근거로 하여 돼지의 주요 경제 형질인 등지방 두께, 등심단면적, 정육율, 일당증체량, 및 90 kg 도달일령에 영향을 미치는 환경효과를 추정하기 위하여 Harvey et al. (1979)의 최소제곱 평균법으로 SAS @9.2 Package/PC를 이용하여 분석하였으며(SAS Institute, 2006), 상이한 검정개시 체중과 검정종료 체중을 보정하는 방법으로 검정종료 일령을 공변이로 포함하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 조사된 돼지의 주요 경제형질의 평균치와 표준 편차는 90kg 도달일령의 경우 147.537 ± 12.401 일, 일당증체량의 경우 614.614 ± 56.900 g, 보정 등지방 두께가 15.771 ± 3.071 mm, 등심단면적의 경우 28.644 ± 3.634 cm2, 정육율의 경우 55.363 ± 3.901%로 나타났다. 각 요인에 대한 유의성 검정 결과를 보면 조사된 모든 형질에 대해 출생 계절과 검정 계절의 효과에서 고도의 유의성(p<0.01)을 나타내었다. 표현형 상관에서 90 kg 도달일령과 일당증체량은 강한 부의 상관을 나타내었다. 90kg 도달일령과 등지방 두께는 정의 상관을, 일당증체량과 등지방 두께는 부의 상관을 나타내었다. 등지방두께와 등심단면적은 -0.294의 부의 상관을 등지방두께와 정육율은 -0.723의 부의 상관을 나타내었다. 등심단면적과 정육율은 0.586의 정의 상관을 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 공변이 분석으로 포함한 종료체중의 효과에 대해 추정된 회귀계수는 검정종료일령에 대해 검정 종료 일령이 1일씩 증가함에 따라 등지방두께, 등심단면적, 정육율, 일당증체량, 90 kg 도달일령은 각각 -0.04 mm, -0.02 ㎠, 0.03%, -1.26 g, 0.61 일씩 변화하였으며, 특히 일당증체량과 90 kg 도달일령에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 사료된다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해 농장 검정돈의 표현형적 특성을 파악할 수 있었고, Yorkshire 종빈돈의 능력을 평가할 때 유전적 능력과 환경요인에 의한 부분을 고려하여야 할 것으로 사료된다. 또한 능력검정을 통한 우수한 종빈돈의 선발과 개량이 곧 현 국내의 축산업의 발전을 위한 노력의 기반이 될 것이다.

        검정소 검정돈의 품종 및 환경요인의 효과 추정

        This study was carried out to estimate the effects of breed and environment such as sex, test station, test year, test season, parity, initial and final weight on average daily gain, age at 90㎏, backfat thickness, feed efficiency, lean percent and selection index on the basis of the performance data collected from 25,790 pigs of Duroc, Yoskshire and Landrace breeds which were performance-tested at the Korea Swine Testing Station from 1991 to 2002. The results obtained in the study are summarized as follows; 1. The means of the major economic traits were estimated as 959.95 ± 0.699g for average daily gain, 138.36 ± 0.072days for age at 90㎏, 1.41 ± 0.001㎝ for backfat thickness, 2.33 ± 0.001 for feed efficiency, 56.71 ± 0.018% for lean percent and 221.65 ± 0.113 for selection index. 2. The effect of breed was statistically significant for all studied traits. Briefly, Duroc showed the best per-formance for the average daily gain and age at 90㎏. Landrace had the best performances for the backfat thickness and lean meat percent. In feed efficiency and selection index, Yorkshire had a better score than other breeds. 3. The least-squares means of female and male for the traits studied were 923.05 ± 1.289g and 974.53 ± 0.856g for average daily gain, 139.74 ± 0.145days and 137.21 ± 0.097days for age at 90㎏, 1.49 ± 0.002㎝ and 1.39 ± 0.002㎝ for backfat thickness, 2.43 ± 0.002 and 2.28 ± 0.002 for feed efficiency, 56.43 ± 0.034% and 56.81 ± 0.023% for lean percent and 211.37 ± 0.194 and 224.61 ± 0.129 for selection index. Therefore, males were superior to females for all traits examined. 4. The effect of test station was statistically significant for all traits except for selection index. Performances for age at 90㎏, backfat thickness, feed efficiency and lean meat percent collected from Test station 2 were higher than those from Test station 1. However. Test station 1 showed better average daily gain. 5. The initial weight and final weight included as a covariate in this study had a significant influence on average daily gain, age at 90㎏, backfat thickness, feed efficiency and selection index. From the absolute values of the estimated regression coefficients, it was inferred that the final weight had greater effect for the investigated traits than the initial weight.

        Association between oropharyngeal microbiome and weight gain in piglets during pre and post weaning life

        Birth weight and subsequent weight gain is of critical importance in the survival and performance of piglets on a commercial swine farm setting. Oropharyngeal microbiome could in-fluence immunity, and feeding behavior thus impacting health and weight gain. We used 16S rRNA gene sequencing to profile the composition and predicted metabolic functionality of the oropharyngeal microbiota in 8 piglets (4 with a birthweight ≤ 1.0 kg and 4 with a birthweight ≥ 1.7 kg) at 11, 26, and 63 days of age. We found 9 genera that were significantly associated with average daily gain (ADG) at 11 days (false discovery rate, FDR < 0.05) and 26 days of age (FDR < 0.1), respectively. The microbial functional profile revealed several pathways as-sociated with ADG (FDR < 0.05). Among these, pathways related to degradation of catechols showed a positive association with ADG at 11, 26, and 63 days of age, implying a potential to breakdown the host-derived catecholamines. We also noted that pathways related to the biodegradation of nucleosides and nucleotides increased with ADG during the pre-weaning phase, while those involved in their biosynthesis decreased. Our findings provide insights into the oropharyngeal microbial memberships and metabolic pathways that are involved in a piglet’s weight gain. Thus, providing a basis for the development of strategies aimed at im-proving weight gain in pigs.

        자돈 일당증체량에 따른 장내 미생물 변화 연구

        장내 미생물의 조성은 숙주의 성장과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 자돈의 일당증체량과 장내 미생물 간의 연관성을 조사하기 위하여 생후 28일령 자돈 42두의 평균 일당증체량 상·하위 10%를 대상으로 두 그룹(상위; HADG, 하위; LADG)으로 나누어 장내 미생물을 분석하였다. 두 그룹 간 장내미생물 조성을 비교한 결과 HADG 에서 Firmicutes 문의 풍부도가 LADG보다 높았다. 미생물 기능 예측 분석을 통해 HADG의 장내미생물은 리보솜 생합성과 메탄 대사와 관련 기능이 있으며, LADG은 질병 관련 대사와 유기화합물 분해 대사 관련 기능을 하는 미생물의 분포가 높았다. 두 그룹의 상대적 미생물 풍부도 비교를 통해 차등미생물 33개 속을 확인하였으며(LDA>2, p<0.05 ), 미생물과 일당증체량 사이의 상관관계를 조사하기 위해 spearman’s correlation 분석을 수행하였다(|R|>4). 그 결과 일당증체량과 양의 상관관계를 갖는 4개 속, 음의 상관관계를 갖는 21개 속을 발굴하였다. 특히 일당증체량과 양의 상관관계를 갖는 Marvinbryantia, Muribaculaceae, Coprococcus, Parasutterella 는 식물을 다당류를 SCFA로 발효하여 숙주의 에너지원을 제공하고 장내 환경 조절을 통하여 성장을 촉진하는 역할을 수행한다. 이 연구 결과는 장내 미생물을 활용하여 일당증체량을 예측할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하며, 자돈의 건강과 생산성을 향상하는데 기여할 수 있는 새로운 통찰력을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. The composition of gut microbiota is closely related to host growth. This study was performed to investigate the correlation between piglet average daily gain (ADG) and gut microbiota composition. The study was conducted on forty-two 28-day-old piglets, which were divided into top and bottom 10% groups based on ADG. Analysis of gut microbiota compositions in these groups revealed that the Firmicutes phylum was more abundant in the high ADG group. Additionally, functional prediction analysis showed ribosome biogenesis and methane metabolism were elevated in the high ADG group. Conversely, the low ADG group had a higher prevalence of disease-related metabolic features and higher levels of organic compound degradation. Analysis of the relative abundances of microbiota in the two ADG groups identified 33 differentially abundant microbial genera (LDA > 2, p < 0.05). Spearmans correlation analysis of relationships between the abundances of these microbes and ADG revealed that four genera were positively correlated and 21 genera were negatively correlated with weight gain. Notably, Marvinbryantia, Muribaculaceae, Coprococcus, and Parasutterella , which were positively correlated, were found to participate in the fermentation of plant polysaccharides into short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) to provide energy for the host and promote growth. This study provides new insights that could enhance piglet health and productivity and suggests gut microbiota might be used to predict piglet weight gain.

        검정종료돈의 체중변화에 따른 일당중체량, 등지방두께 및 정육율의 반복력과 상관

        본 연구는 1999년 8월부터 2000년 2월까지 공인 제2종돈능력검정소에서 검정 종료된 Duroc종, Landrace종 및 Yorkshire종에 대하여 체중, 등지방두께, 일당증체량 및 정육율을 측정하여, 동일 개체의 반복측정치 간의 반복력과, 상관 및 순위상관을 추정하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 평균능력은 측정시 체중이 각각 91.0, 114.7, 123.2㎏이였으며, 측정시 일령은 각각 142.1, 173.7, 182.5일이였으며, 정육율은 각각 57.9, 56.2 55.2%였으며, 등지방두께는 각각 1.33, 1.61, 1.63㎝였으며, 일당증체량은 각각 946.6, 879.2, 879.4g으로 나타났다. 2. 각 형질의 측정차수간 상관은 정육율의 경우, 1차와 2차, 1차와 3차, 2차와 3차간 각각 0.493, 0.471, 0.619로 나타났고, 등지방두께의 경우, 각각 0.424, 0.424, 0.700으로 나타났으며, 일당증체량의 경우, 각각 0.716, 0.601, 0.861로 모든 형질에서 1차와 2차간, 1차와 3차간 보다는 2차와 3차간에 높게 추정되었다. 3. 각 측정차수의 형질간 상관은 1차 측정의 경우, 정육율과 등지방두께, 정육율과 일당증체량, 등지방두께와 일당증체량이 각각 -0.597, -0.291, 0.303으로 나타났고, 2차 측정의 경우, 각각 -0.667, -0.292, 0.396으로 나타났으며, 3차 측정의 경우, 각각 -0.711, -0.369, 0.409로 정육율과 등지방두께 및 일당증체량은 부의 상관관계에 있으며, 등지방두께와 일당증체량은 정의 상관관계에 있고, 일령이 증가할수록 상관이 높게 추정되었다. 4. 각 형질의 반복력 추정치를 살펴보면, 등지방두께가 0.374, 정육율이 0.428, 일당증체량이 0.673으로 추정되었으며, 일당증체량의 반복력은 상당히 높게 추정되어, 110㎏까지 검정의 필요성이 인정되지 않으나, 등지방두께와 정육율의 추정치는 낮게 추정되어 더욱 많은 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. The respeatability, correlation and rank correlation coefficients among average daily gain, backfat thickness and lean percent were estimated on the basis of records tested from August 1999 to February 2000 with 695 pigs of Duroc, Landrace and Yorkshire boars and gilts tested at 2nd Korea Swine Test Station located in Ha-dong, Kyeongnam Province. The effect of the sex, breed and month of measured were estimated by the least square method. The repeatabilities were estimated from the component of variance among repeated measurements of the trait for the same animal. The results obtained are summarized as follow ; 1. The means of the major economic traits studied were 142.1 days, 173.7 days and 182.5 days for age at 1st, 2nd and 3rd measure, 57.9%, 56.2% and 55.2% for lean percent at 1st. 2nd and 3rd mesure, 1.33㎝, 1.61㎝ and 1.63㎝ for backfat thickness at 1st. 2nd and 3rd measure, 946.6g, 879.2g and 879.4g for average daily gain at 1st. 2nd and 3rd measure, respectively. 2. The correlation coefficients between the backfat thickness measured at 1st and 2nd, at 2nd and 3rd, at 1st and 3rd were 0.424, 0.700 and 1.424, respectively. The correlation coefficients between the lean percent measured at 1st and 2nd, at 2nd and 3rd, at 1st and 3rd were 0.493, 0.619 and 0.471, respectively. The correlation coefficients between the average daily gain measured at 1st and 2nd, at 2nd and 3rd, at 1st and 3rd were 0.716, 0.861 and 0.601, respectively. 3. The rank correlation coefficients between backfat thickness measured at 1st and 2nd, at 2nd and 3rd, at 1st and 3rd were 0.438, 0.693 and 0.441, respectively. The rank correlation coefficients between lean percent measured at1st and 2nd, at 2nd and 3rd, at 1st and 3rd were 0.508, 0.593 and 0.478, respectively. The rank correlation coefficients between average daily gain measured at 1st and 2nd, at 2nd and 3rd, at 1st and 3rd were 0.704, 0.834 and 0.571, respectively. 4. The estimated repeatabilities of the traits studied were 0.428 for the lean percent, 0.374 for the backfat thickness and 0.673 for the average daily gain, respectively.

        유전 및 육종 : 한우 검정우의 일당증체량에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 당대검정 한우 4,681두와 후대검정 한우 4,442두의 자료를 이용하여 한우 일당증체량을 통한 성장 특성과 유전력을 추정하고, 도체형질과의 유전상관을 알아보고자 수행하였다. Park et al. ; Average Daily Gain of Hanwoo -3 2 1- 당대검정우에서 구한 6~9개월령, 9~12개월령, 6~12개월령 일당 증체량의 평균과 표준편차는 각각 1.04 ± 0.16 kg, 1.11 ± 0.17 kg, 1.07 ± 0.11 kg이었으며, 6~9개월령과 9~12개월령, 6~9개월령과 6~12개월령, 9~12개월령과 6~12개월령 일당증체량의 표현형 상관 이 각각 -0.03, 0.66, 0.65였다. 후대검정우에서 구한 6~12개월령 일당증체량과 도체중, 등심단 면적, 등지방두께 및 근내지방도의 표현형 상관은 각각 0.446, 0.199, 0.0266 및 0.045였다. 6~12개월령 일당증체량, 도체중, 등심단면적, 등지방두께 및 근 내지방도의 유전력은 각각 0.251, 0.298, 0.424, 0.503 및 0.626 이었으며, 6~12개월령 일당증체량과 도체중, 등심단면적, 등지방두 께 및 근내지방도의 유전상관은 각각 0.606, 0.292, -0.095 및 -0.007이었다. 본 연구로부터 일당증체량에 대한 개량으로 도체 중, 등심단면적 및 등지방두께에 대한 개량이 가능할 것으로 사료 된다. This study was conducted to identify the characteristics and estimate the genetic parameters of average daily gain (ADG) and carcass traits of Hanwoo. The data used in this study were 4,681 heads which were performance-tested and 4,442 heads which were progeny-tested in test station of National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. The means and standard deviations of ADG between 6~9 months (ADG:6-9), ADG between 9~12 (ADG:9-12) and ADG between 6~12 (ADG:6-12) from the performance test were 1.04 ± 0.16, 1.11 ± 0.17 and 1.07 ± 0.11, respectively. The phenotypic correlations of ADG:6-9 and ADG:9-12, ADG:6-9 and ADG:6-12, ADG:9-12 and ADG:6-12 were -0.03, 0.66 and 0.65, respectively. The phenotypic correlations of ADG:6-12 with carcass weight (CW), eye muscle area (EMA), backfat thickness (BF), and marbling score (MS) from progeny test were 0.446, 0.199, 0.0266 and 0.045, respectively. Estimated heritabilities from the pooled data were 0.251 (ADG:6-12), 0.298 (CW), 0.424 (EMA), 0.503 (BF) and 0.626 (MS), respectively. Estimated genetic correlations of ADG:6-12 with CW, EMA, BF, MS were 0.606, 0.292, -0.095 and -0.007, respectively. From these results, it could be suggested that selection for ADG significantly affects CW, EMA and BF by correlated response to selection.

        Effect of acidified milk feeding on the intake, average daily gain and fecal microbiological diversity of Holstein dairy calves

        Objective: To evaluate the effect of feeding acidified milk on the growth and fecal microbial diversity of dairy calves. Methods: Twenty healthy 3-day-old female Holstein calves with similar body weights were selected and randomly divided into two groups. One group was fed pasteurized milk (PM, Control), while the other was fed acidified milk (AM) ad libitum until weaned (day 60). The experiment lasted until day 180. Results: There was no difference in the nutritional components between PM and AM. The numbers of Escherichia coli and total bacteria in AM were lower than in PM. At 31 to 40 and 41 to 50 days of age, the milk intake of calves fed AM was higher than that of calves fed PM (p<0.05), and the solid feed intake of calves fed AM was higher than that of calves fed PM at 61 to 90 days (p<0.05). The average daily gain of calves fed AM was also higher than that of calves fed PM at 31 to 60, 61 to 180, and 7 to 180 days (p<0.05). The calves fed AM tended to have a lower diarrhea rate than those fed PM (p = 0.059). Bacteroides had the highest abundance in the feces of calves fed AM on day 50, while Ruminococcaceae_UCG_005 had the highest abundance in the feces of calves fed AM on day 90 and calves fed PM on days 50 and 90. At the taxonomic level, the linear discriminant analysis scores of 27 microorganisms in the feces of calves fed AM and PM on days 50 and 90 were higher than 4.0. Conclusion: Feeding AM increased calf average daily gain and affected fecal bacterial diversity.

        본 연구에서는 18,668두의 자가검정 및 입회검정된 돼지 자료를 이용하여 유전모수를 추정하였다. 2007년부터 2011년 4월까지 전라남도 영광 소재 N 종돈장에서 검정된 Duroc, Berkshire, Landrace 및 Yorkshire종 18,668두에 대한 자료를 근거로 하여 돼지의 주요 산육형질인 일당증체량, 체고 및 체장에 대한 유전력, 유전상관 및 표현형상관을 다형질 Animal model을 이용하여 추정하였다. 본 연구에서 추정된 Duroc종에 대한 일당증체량, 체고 및 체장에 대한 유전력은 0.22, 0.37, 0.4로 추정되었으며 Berkshire종의 유전력은 0.58, 0.34 및 0.48로 나타났고 Landrace종의 각 형질의 유전력은 0.26, 0.41 및 0.52이었으며 Yorkshire종의 유전력은 0.28, 0.39 및 0.43을 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 추정된 Duroc의 주요 경제 형질간의 유전 상관 및 표현형 상관은 일당 증체량과, 체고, 체장, 체고와 체장간에 각각 유전, 표현형 상관 0.33, 0.47과 0.42, 0.48 그리고 0.57 및 0.41로 추정되었으며 Berkshire종 유전 상관 및 표현형 상관은 0.75, 0.70 및 0.53, 0.58 그리고 체고의 대한 체장은 0.69 및 0.57을 나타내었다. Landrace종의 경우 유전 상관 및 표현형 상관이 일당증체량과, 체고, 체장, 체고와 체장간에 각각 유전, 표현형 상관 0.17, 0.38과 0.34, 0.46 그리고 0.61 및 0.52로 추정 되었으며 Yorkshire종은 0.50, 0.53 및 0.47, 0.56 그리고 0.71, 0.59로 추정되었다. The purpose of this study was to estimate genetic parameters for productive traits in swine. Productive traits were considered on average daily gain(ADG), body height(BH) and body length(BL). Genetic analysis was consisted of 18,668 heads for productive traits which were based on on-farm performance tested from May, 2007 to Apr, 2011. For estimating genetic parameters on productive traits, single best model was fitted after finding source of variance on fixed and random effects and estimated with a multiple trait animal model by using DF-REML(Derivative-Free Restricted Maximum Likelihood). The estimated heritabilities of Duroc, Berkshire, Landrace and Yorkshire 0.22~0.58 for the average daily gain, 0.34~0.41 for the body height and 0.4~0.52 for the body length, respectively. Phenotypic correlations of average daily gain with body height and body length for the four breeds were 0.42~0.48, 0.53~0.58, 0.34~0.46 and 0.47~0.56, respectively. Phenotypic correlations of body height with body length were 0.41, 0.57, 0.52, 0.59, respectively. The estimated genetic correlation coefficients of average daily gain with body height and body length estimated for the four breeds were 0.34~0.47, 0.70~0.75, 0.17~0.38 and 0.50~0.53, respectively. The estimated genetic correlation coefficients of body height with body length were 0.57, 0.69, 0.61 and 0.71, respectively.

        Novel genetic variants of sine oculis homeobox homolog 3 gene are associated with body weight and average daily gain in Bos taurus

        Sine oculis homeobox homolog 3 (Six3) gene is responsible for normal mammalian pituitary development, and its genetic variations or deficiency will cause hypopituitarism, suggesting that this gene is a potential candidate gene for studying association with growth traits in animals. Herein, genetic variants within bovine Six3 gene was screened in 1031 individuals from four Chinese indigenous cattle breeds. Two novel polymorphisms (NC_007309:g.2515G>A and NC_007309:g.2607T>C) locating at positions nt1707 and nt1799 of intron 1 in bovine Six3gene, were found, and could be genotyped by TaqI ACRS PCR-RFLP and Alw26I PCR-RFLP, respectively. The frequencies of allele “A” of TaqI locus varied from 0.004 to 0.309,as well as the frequencies of allele “C” of Alw26I locus waved from 0.025 to 0.340. Association analysis revealed no significant association of TaqI locus with growth traits in Nanyang breed. However, significant relationships between Alw26I locus and body weight (BW) and average daily gain (ADG) in Nanyang breed was found (p<0.05). The individuals with genotype TC had greater body weight and average daily gain than those with genotype TT at 18 months old. Furthermore, based on combinated genotypes from these two loci, diplotypes was found to be associated with growth traits (p<0.05).The individuals with dihaplotype GG-TC had greater body weight and average daily gain at 18 month-old than those of other dihaplotypes. Therefore, the TaqI and Alw26I genetic variants of bovine Six3 gene were recommended as DNA markers related to growth traits through marker-assisted selection for genetics and breeding in cattle.

        농장 검정돈의 규모 및 환경요인의 효과 추정

        This study was conducted to estimate the effects of breed, sex, Farm-Scale and environment on average daily gain, age at 90kg, backfat thickness, eye muscle area and lean percent of pig. The total number of pig used in this study was 30,525 head consisted of 5,902 Landrace, 18,022 Yorkshire, and 6,601 Duroc on 2004 to 2008. The covariance used in the model to adjust age at the final test. The average daily gain, age at 90kg, and lean percent were significantly superior in medium Farm-Scale. However Backfat thickness and Eye muscle Area were significantly superior in small Farm-Scale. In conclusion this study suggest that breed, sex, test year, test season, Farm-Scale and environment may affect to average daily gain, age at 90kg, backfat thickness, eye muscle area and lean percent. The study about the Farm-Scale has to do continually more than now, and this study will be contributed to development of the pig industry 본 연구는 일당증체량, 90kg 도달일령, 등지방두께, 등심단면적 및 정육율에 영향을 미치는 품종, 성, 농장규모 및 환경요인의 효과를 추정하였다. 2004년부터 2008년까지 농장 검정된 Landrace종 5,902두 Yorkshire종 18,022두 및 Duroc종 6,601두 등의 3개 품종 총 30,525두의 자료를 이용하였다. 검정종료일령에 대한 보정을 위하여 모델에 공분산 항목을 포함하여 분석하였다. 일당증체량, 90kg 도달일령 및 정육율은 중간 규모의 농장에서 유의적으로 우수하게 나타났다. 반면 등지방두께와 등심단면적은 소규모의 농장에서 유의적으로 우수하게 나타났다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서는 품종, 성, 검정종료년도, 검정종료계절 및 농장 규모간의 유의적 차이를 나타내었고, 추후 농장규모에 관한 더 많은 연구가 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료되어지며, 이러한 연구가 양돈 산업의 발전에 이바지 할 수 있을 것이다.
