        한국의 기술경영전문대학원의 교과과정을 통해 본 한국적 기술경영학의 정체성

        기술경영학은 1960년대 미국 공공연구기관의 체계적 연구관리(R&D) 필요성과 영국 고등교육기관의 관련 학술지 창간 등에 의해 태동된 후 현재는 전 세계 809개 이상, 국내 19개 이상의 기관에서 연구와 교육활동을 수행할 정도로 크게 확산되었다. 특히, 한국에서는 2007년부터 산업부를 중심으로 지속적으로 정부예산을 투입해 단기간 내에 양적·질적으로 대학원 수준의 기술경영 인력양성 체계가 자리 잡게 되었다. 한국의 기술경영학 교육과정은 현장중심형 교육과정 운영, 교육기관 간 표준화와 동형화, 인접학문과의 친연성 등에 있어 해외의 기관과는 다른 경로와 차별성을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 한국의 기술경영학 교과과정을 체계적으로 분석함으로써 그 정체성과 차별성을 확인한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 기술경영학의 주요 교재 11종(한국어 3종, 영어 8종)을 분석하여 기술경영학의 교과과정의 주요 내용을 7개 주제영역으로 구분하고 인접학문과의 차별성, 기술경영학의 정의적 특성에 관해 논하였다. 다음으로는 기술경영 대학원과정을 운영하는 한국의 9개 대학원 교과과정을 7개 주제영역에 투사하였다. 분석결과, 한국의 대학원 교과과정은 기업에서의 기술경영의 운영 측면, 산업별/기술별 기술경영, 산학연계 프로젝트/세미나에 62.5%의 교과목이 배정되어 있었다. 즉, 한국적 기술경영 교육과정은 지역산업에서 필요로 하는 중간관리자급의 기술경영 실행인재의 양성을 주요 목표로 하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 기술경영 교과과정의 분석 토대 위에 한국의 산업발전단계를 고려한 향후 기술경영학 교육의 발전방향을 시사점으로 도출하였다. 즉, 기술과 혁신의 개념과 특성에 대한 이론, 기업 기술경영의 운영만이 아니라 전략적 측면, 기술경영의 경제사회적 맥락에 대한 교육과정이 보강될 필요가 있다는 점을 제시한다. The field of Management of Technology(MOT) emerged in response to the need for research management within U.S. public research institutions during the 1960s. Since its inception, it has proliferated significantly, being practiced in more than 809 institutions globally and over 19 institutions in Korea, encompassing both research and educational endeavors. Particularly noteworthy is the substantial investment of government resources, primarily channeled through the Ministry of Industry since 2007, which has expeditiously established a comprehensive framework for cultivating graduate-level MOT expertise, marked by both quantitative and qualitative advancements. The educational curriculum in the realm of Korean MOT deviates from foreign counterparts through distinctive pathways, exemplified by its emphasis on industry practice-oriented educational programs, standardization and isomorphism across different schools, as well as its interconnectedness with proximate academic disciplines. This research systematically undertakes an analysis of the curriculum in Korean MOT graduate schools, thereby ascertaining its intrinsic identity and distinct attributes. In this endeavor, a comprehensive examination of eleven principal MOT textbooks(three in Korean and eight in English) is conducted to delineate the primary content of the curriculum across seven thematic domains. Moreover, the study deliberates on its differentiation from neighboring academic disciplines and the definitional attributes of MOT. Subsequently, this analysis also encompasses nine Korean MOT graduate programs, projecting the seven thematic domains onto their respective curricula. The findings illuminate that within the context of Korean graduate programs, a substantial proportion of the curriculum, amounting to 62.5%, is dedicated to facets encompassing the operational aspects of technology management within corporate contexts, technology management specific to varying industries and technologies, and collaborative endeavors between academia and industry in the form of projects and seminars. Evidently, the Korean approach to technology management education is notably geared towards the cultivation of adept practitioners capable of executing technology management functions at a mid-tier managerial level, aligned with the exigencies of regional industries. Grounded in the analysis of technology management curricula, this study extrapolates implications for the future trajectory of MOT education in Korea, encompassing a consideration of the stages of industrial development. It underscores the necessity to augment the educational curricula pertaining conceptual foundation of technology and innovation, strategic perspectives of technology and innovation, and the socio-economic context of technology management.

        The Strategic Environmental Management of Technologies: Utilization of Technology Road mapping and Technology Roadmap

        The previous paper presented the conclusions and discussions with the following three points [Nagae, Tsunehiro and Horauchi, Yoshitsugu, 2004]: ·Japan-Korea Index Comparison:"2002 Environmental Sustainability Index"; ·Change in Environmental Administrations; and ·Strategic Environmental Management in Japan and Korea. This paper refers to utilization of technology road-mapping and technology roadmap for the strategic environmental management of technologies .To more accurately strategic target and plan future high tech growth initiatives, the technology roadmap provides a strategic inventory and overview of the R&D assets. Companies and individuals can use the technology roadmap to identify commercialization opportunities and partners for strategic alliances. Therefore, this paper refers to the following five contents: Ⅰ. Introduction; Ⅱ. Method; Ⅲ. Results; Ⅲ.Ⅰ .Theoretical Approach: Technology Road-mapping and Technology Roadmap; Ⅲ.Ⅱ. Strategic Case Study: Aluminum Industry`s Technology Road-mapping; and Ⅳ. Conclusion and Discussion.

        미국에서의 기술경영 논의의 진화: 한국에 대한 시사점을 중심으로

        본 연구는 미국에서의 기술경영 분야의 발전과정을 통해 기술경영의 정체성이란 무엇인가를 탐구한다. 미국에서 기술경영은 2차 대전 전후를 거치면서 현재까지 기술과 사회의 관계의 변화에 따라 내용을 달리해왔다. 본 연구에서는 (1) 2차 대전 전후의 ``R&D 관리`` 또는 ``프로젝트관리`` 단계, (2) 70-80년대 초반의 혁신에 대한 이론화 전개 단계, (3) 기술경영논의의 확대 및 기술경영교육의 확산 단계로 나누어 정리하였다. 이를 통해 기술경영의 개념 및 이해가 시대적 문제해결 과정에서 다양한 의미를 가지면서 진화해온 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 복수적 정체성은 그 자체가 병리적인 것이라기보다는 기술과 사회의 접점이 확대되고 있음을 보여주는 것이며, 기술경영교육의 측면에서는 다양한 접근이 필요하다는 함의를 제공해 준다. This paper investigates the identity of technology management by taking a look at the evolution of the field in the United States. The discipline was established since the World War II when the big research organization was firstly formed in the country. Its focus has varied according to the role of technology in a corporation and the relation of technology and society in general. We identify three distinct stages of the field: R&D management, or project management, theoretical understanding of innovation in the 70s and 80s, and the diffusion of technology management and its education. The recent discussion on a standard curriculum of technology management illustrates the lack of a coherent identity of the field, however this phenomenon should not be considered as pathological and it demonstrates the widened interfaces between technology and society. Furthermore, it implies the possibility and need of diverse approaches in technology management.

        기술경영 인력 수요 예측에 관한 연구

        The importance of technology to improve a firm’s competitiveness is increasing tremendously in the fast moving era, and it is said that technology is a core factor to obtain competitiveness. Also, it can be said that maintaining a firm’s competitiveness is a matter not about maintaining technology itself but about managing technology. For market preemption and continuous growth, cyclic relationship between R&D investment and profitability and efficient management of the developed technology is critical, and role of experts is more important than anything else to manage the technology. However, even though the importance of MOT expert training is highly perceived, there is few study on forecasting expert demand for MOT. Therefore, it will be meaningful work to estimate and analyze human resource demand and suggest a direction for the career development in MOT.

        日本型イノベ一ション戰略の探究 -サ一ビスロボット技術の推進-

        日本大?人體硏究所[Nihon University Population Research Institute (NUPRI)]の分析によれば、 日本の家族介護力(高? 人口に對する40~59?の女性人口)は2005年以降、世界192ヵ國中最低水準となり、この傾向は2022年以降50年間?く こ とを指摘している。本論は、サ?ビス支援技術を、高?者?病人?幼?などの「身?的弱者向けの支援技術」として再考 し、その上で、産?官連携により「生活機能補完技術(すなわちサ?ビスロボット技術)」という新たな産業分野に?展さ せることにより、國民全員に基礎的な安心感を?えるという「イノベ?ションの?点」から、①「サ?ビスロボット技術 における要素技術」と②「サ?ビスロボット技術の先端事例」の2点に課題解決を絞り?み、??を行うものである. The two main points that will be examined are as follows. 1. Elemental Technologies of Service Robot Technology. 2. A cutting edge of Service Robot Technology.

        산업의 고도화는 디자인 분야에서의 디자인 본연의 의미를 외관의 스타일링에서 서비스 및 시스템의 계획의 개념으로 확장하게 하였다. 또한 기업은 경쟁력 증대를 위하여 과거 기술 확보에서 벗어나 사용자를 만족시키는 디자인을 중요한 전략적 요소로 이미 사용하고 있다. 이에 기술경영에서도 디자인에 대한 인식이 높아지고 있으며 이와 관련된 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기술경영 연구에서 디자인 용어의 사용을 살펴보고 디자인 용어의 다양성과 전문성을 연구한다. 본 연구를 위하여 기술경영 분야의 SCI(E) 저널을 선택하여 내용분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 디자인 용어를 언급한 연구의 수는 10년 동안 감소하고 있었지만 저자의 다양성과 그 사용의 다양성 및 전문성은 증가되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 디자인 용어 사용의 이해를 통해 디자인과 기술을 융합한 경영 시스템 발전에 대한 가능성을 살필 수 있었다. The industry acceleration has lead to shift the meaning of design that was only considered the styling to plan the system and service. Companies have used the design as strategical factors to fulfill the customers. As this aspect, the Management of Technology also has recognized its importance and researched in a various ways. This research will show how changed the word of design in the Management of Technology and will study on the term of design has used how variety and expertise in that field. To undertake this research the author researched level of SCI(E) journals during 10years published in the Management of Technology. In summary, during 10 years, using the word of design has been reduced however variety of authors and the level of professional has increased. This research also show the possibility of convergent to the management technology with design through understanding the meaning of use.

        우리나라 기술경영교육에 대한 고찰

        Over the past three decades, Korean universities have developed their management of technology (MOT) education, which became an independent major in the 1990s and has since spread to various institutions. However, there has been limited research that has specifically examined the development process and themes of the curriculum in MOT education. This study aims to fill this gap by examining the history of MOT education in Korea by period and analyzing the subjects and characteristics covered in the MOT curriculum of Korean universities. We categorized the educational courses offered by MOT graduate schools by subject and compared the composition of universities to analyze the current status of the MOT education program. Our analysis reveals the key characteristics of MOT education in Korea and suggests future development tasks for this field. 우리나라 기술경영 교육은 1990년대에 대학에서 독립된 형태의 전공으로 교육과정이 개설된 이후 약 30년 동안 지속적으로 발전하여 국내 여러 대학으로 확산되어 왔다. 그러나 국내 대학에서 제공되는 기술경영 교육과정의 발전과정과 주제들을 구체적으로 다룬 연구가 많지 않았다. 본 연구는 우리나라 기술경영교육의 특성을 살펴보고 이를 바탕으로 발전방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 우리나라 기술경영교육의 역사를 시기별로 살펴보고 국내 대학의 기술경영 교육과정에서 다루는 주제들과 특징을 분석하였다. 분석을 위해 대학원 과정의 기술경영교육이 제공하는 교육 과목들을 주제별로 분류하고 대학들 간 구성을 비교하는 내용분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통하여 우리나라 기술경영교육의 특성을 도출하고, 연구결과를 바탕으로 우리나라 기술경영교육의 발전과제를 제시하였다.

        Towards Measuring Competitiveness

        This study aims to develop a framework to measure MOT competitiveness of enterprises while proposing a concept called management of technology competitiveness (MOTC). The framework of MOTC based on both resource-based view and competence-based view is consisted of technology competitiveness and management competitiveness. A variety of metrics to measure MOTC are extracted through substantial literature review. As technology competitiveness metric, this study examines R&D investment, R&D workforce, R&D facilities, intellectual property assets, and utilization of information and communication technology; as metric of management competitiveness, leadership competitiveness, maturity of the R&D systems, collaboration and partnership, learning and innovation, and commercialization are considered. We then confirm and derive the multi-dimensions of MOTC through its reliability and validity analysis. The study is expected to provide useful guidelines and references for enterprises’ self-evaluation of technology and management competitiveness that is equally applicable to small, medium, and large enterprises that must compete in the global marketplace.

        日本における「コモディティ・トラップ」の探究 ‒日本大手エレクトロニクス企業の戦略経営‒

        Commoditization is defined as the process by which goods that have economic value and are distinguishable in terms of attributes (e.g., product performance, quality or brand) end up becoming simple commodities in the eyes of the market or consumers. Corporations that differentiate their products by building them to be more innovative, more designable, more smart (i.e., System-oriented) and cheaper begin to find that others quickly imitate every new feature that they introduce. The length of time that any given product is attractive in the market begins to decline, as even newer products quickly take over. A “commodity trap” will end up becoming a “commodity hell”. This paper focuses specifically on strategic management in major Japanese electronics corporations and the two main points that will be examined are as follows. 1. A case study of strategic management (i.e., strategic decisions) in Sharp Corporation, Panasonic Corporation and Sony Corporation. 2. Factor analyzes involved in a “commodity trap” and solutions:- Product-led innovation that falls into a “ competency trap” will result in commoditization. - Solutions: Monitoring points of strategic decisions. - Solutions : Co-creation activities of both TMI (Technology Management for Innovation) and MOT (Management of Technology).
