        아버지와 자녀의 가족식사 빈도에 영향을 미치는 요인

        This study recognizes the changes of the father’s role and the importance of family mealtimes as well as examines the individual, family and social contexts surrounding the father’s family mealtime. This study analyzed the trend of the father’s family mealtime frequency and factors affecting them in order to explore the current conditions of their father’s work and family balance through family mealtimes. Data from 492 fathers who have school aged children were collected through an online survey. The overall trend of the frequency of father’s family meals showed an average of 2.4 breakfasts and an average of 3.2 dinners per week. The frequency of the father’s family meals showed statistically significant differences according to the father’s age, children’s school age, dual income, weekly working hours, working flexibility, leaving on-time and the priority of work and family. The analysis of hierarchical linear regressions was conducted to determine factors affecting the frequency of father’s family mealtime to show that the frequency of father’s family mealtime was best explained by father’s working conditions and perception variables. Working conditions such as working hours, leaving work on time, working flexibility were significant variables in regards to the father’s family mealtime frequency. The father’s perception towards parental efficacy, wife’s support, and work-family priority were significant factors in regards to the father’s family mealtime frequency. This study is meaningful in that it provides basic data on policy making for the compatibility of the father’s work and family.

        평일 맞벌이 부부의 근로시간 및 가사노동시간, 시간부족감이 부부 중심 가족식사시간에 미치는 영향

        Objective: This study aimed at examining the pathway for family mealtime as a sharing time with a couple. Concretely, it is the effects of working hours, housework time, and subjective time pressure on family mealtime for dual-income couples in weekday. Method: The analysis data of this study are Time Use Survey 2014 of Statistics Korea. The study sample consisted of 2,111 cases through matching husbands and wives. The analyses included descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient, and structural equation modeling. Results: Major findings were as follows: First, when it comes to family mealtime during weekday, husbands’ working hours and subjective time pressure were negative association. In addition, husbands' working hours were related to family mealtime via subjective time pressure as mediator. Second, in contrast to husbands, wives' working hours and subjective subjective time pressure were not significantly related with time for family meal. subjective time pressure were not significantly related with time for family meal. Third, housework time excluding the domain of food for husbands was positively related to family mealtime. Meanwhile, in case of wives, housework time excluding the domain of food was negatively concerned with family mealtime. Fourth, housework time of the domain of food for wives was positively associated with family mealtime. Conclusions: Major results implied that there is the difference between husbands and wives in the pathway from working hours and housework time to family mealtime mediated by subjective time pressure in dual-income families during weekday.

        초기 청소년층의 우울 및 가족 기능도 평가에 가족 식사 시간이 미치는 영향

        Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of family mealtime and family structure on family functioning and earlyadolescents’ depression. Methods: A survey was conducted with a sample of 275 middle school students in the Gangdong-gu district, Seoul. APGAR scores and Children’sDepression Inventory (CDI) scale were used to measure family functioning and depression level, respectively, along with six more questions tocollect data on family structure, family mealtimes, and adolescents’ reasons for avoiding family meals. Statistical analyses including t-test, one-wayANOVA and twoway ANOVA were employed to examine the influence of family mealtime, family structure and sex on family functioning anddepression levels. Results: The analyses revealed that family structure and environmental factors, such as parental presence and educational attainment did not influencefamily functioning or adolescent depression, while variables related to family mealtime influenced both depression level and family functioning. Results also showed that females were more vulnerable to depression. Conclusion: It was concluded that having family time during meals improves family functioning and helps decrease depression levels of adolescentfamily members. Therefore, parents should take care that they have regular family mealtimes with children, especially female children, during theiradolescence. 연구배경: 본 연구는 가족 기능의 건전성과 우울 정도가가족 식사와 연관성이 있는지를 연구하고자 하였으며최근의 한국 가정에서 부모의 존재 및 가정 환경과 같은구조적 변인이 가족 기능과 우울 정도에 영향을 미치는지를연구하고자 하였다. 방법: 서울 강동 지역의 중등학교 학생을 대상으로 한 설문조사와계측 결과를 바탕으로 성별에 따른 가족 기능과 우울 정도의 차이검정을 위해 독립 t-test를 실시하였고, 가족 구조와 가족 식사 시간관련 변인에 따른 가족 기능과 우울 정도의 차이 검정을 위해 일원배치 분산분석(one way ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 그리고 성별과 식사관련 변인의 상호작용 효과를 검정하기 위해 이원배치 분산분석(two way ANOVA)를 실시하여 분석하였다. 결과: 조사대상자가 평가한 가족 기능지수(AGPAR)의 전체 평균은13.04로서 높은 것으로 나타났으며 우울(CDI) 수준은 평균 10.76으로 외국 소아 집단의 평균인 9보다는 높은 것으로 나타났고 표준화편차도 높았다. 성별, 부모 학력, 부모 존재 등 가족 구조에 따른 가족 기능은 차이가 없었으나 가족 총 식사 시간, 가족과 식사한 횟수, 혼자 식사한 횟수 등 식사 관련 변인에 따른 가족 기능도 차이는 있는 것으로 나타나 가족 식사 시간이 가족 기능에 긍정적으로작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 조사대상자들의 성별에 따른 우울의 차이를 검증한 결과, 여학생이 남학생에 비해 우울 수준이 높으며 통계적으로 유의(P<0.001)한 차이를 보였다. 가족 구조에 따른 우울의차이는 없었으나, 가족 식사 관련 변인에 따른 우울의 차이는 있고가족 식사 시간이 우울 정도를 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 가족 기능도와 우울은 유의미한 부(-)의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 13세 이상에서 16세 이하의 청소년을 대상으로 가족 식사 시간, 횟수가 많고 혼자 밥 먹는 횟수가 적은 경우 가족 기능도 지수가높으며 우울 정도도 낮았다. 여성 청소년의 경우 남성 청소년보다우울 수준이 높았다.

We focused on five dimensions of family meals: frequency, family rituals, communication, rules and roles, and perceptions. Our data came from 619 mothers who were married with at least one child in elementary school. Our multiple regression analyses showed that mothers reported higher levels of both cohesion and flexibility when they gave a higher priority to family meals, made family meals a ritual, had conversations on diverse topics during family meals, or experienced lower levels of meal-related stress. In addition, higher levels of family flexibility were found when a family had more structured rules related to family meals and the father more regularly participated in meal-related housework. This study contributes to the literature by understanding the roles of family meals from a multi-dimensional perspective.

        자폐성장애 자녀의 식생활에 대한 어머니들의 인식과 경험

        자폐성장애인의 식행동과 영양섭취는 본인과 가족의 신체적·정신적 건강, 가족 상호작용, 대인관계 등 삶의 질 전반에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인이다. 본 연구에서는 자폐성장애 자녀의 식생활을 둘러싼 어머니의 인식과 경험을 알아보았다. 이를 위해 식행동 및 균형 잡힌 영양섭취 관련 어려움을 보이는 자폐성장애 자녀를 양육하는 10명의 어머니를 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 면담 자료를 분석한 결과, 자폐성장애 자녀의 식생활에 대한 어머니들의 인식과 경험은 자폐성장애 자녀의 식생활 특징, 자폐성장애 자녀와 가족이 서로에게 미치는 영향, 식생활 개선을 위한 노력, 식생활 개선을 위한 지원요구의 네 가지 주제로 범주화되었다. 본 연구는 자폐성장애 자녀의 식생활을 가장 가까이서 접하는 어머니들의 경험과 인식을 직접 수집하여 분석함으로써 자폐성장애인의 식생활에 대한 지식 기반을 구체적이고 사실적인 사례를 통해 확인하고 확장했다는 점과 특수교육학 및 식품영양학 연구자들이 융합하여 자료수집과 분석을 실시하고 후속연구를 위한 주제를 발굴했다는 점에 그 의의가 있다. Eating behaviors and nutritional intake of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are major factors affecting the overall quality of life, including physical and mental health, family interaction, and interpersonal relationships. This study investigates the perceptions and experiences of the mothers who raised children with ASD, regarding their children’s dietary life. Ten mothers whose children with ASD experienced issues related to eating behaviors and balanced nutritional intake were interviewed. Four themes emerged from data analyses: eating characteristics of children with ASD, reciprocal effects between children with ASD and family members, efforts to improve dietary life, and support needs to improve dietary life. This study confirmed and expanded the knowledge base of dietary life of individuals with ASD based on specific and realistic cases through examining the experiences and perceptions of mothers who work very closely with children with ASD. This study is also significant in that data collection and analyses as well as development of future research topics were conducted through collaboration between special education professionals and nutritional science professionals.
