반응성 기계적 분쇄에 의해 제조한 Mg-10wt.% MnO의수소 저장 성질

수소 분위기에서 10wt.%MnO와 기계적인 분쇄(반응성 기계적 분쇄)에 의해 Mg의 수소 저장 성질을 향상시켰다. 회전 속도는 250 rpm, 밀링시간은 2 h, 그리고 시료 대 볼 중량비는 1/45이었다. 준비한 Mg-10wt.%MnO 시료는 활성화를 위한 수소화물 형성 분해 싸이클링이 필요없었으며, 첫 번째 싸이클 593K 12 bar H2에서, 10분 동안에 3.12wt.%, 60분 동안에 3.95wt.%의 수소를 흡수하였다. 또한 Mg-10wt.%MnO는 593K 0.8 bar H2에서 60분 동안에 2.12wt.%의 수소를 방출하였다. MnO와 Mg의 방응성 분쇄는, 핵생성을 용이케 하고 (Mg 입자의 표면에 결함 형성과 첨가물에 의해), Mg 입자의 표면에 crack을 만들어 Mg의 입자 크기를 줄여 그 결과 수소 원자의 확산 거리를 작게 함으로써 수소 흡수 방출 속도를 증가시킨다. 수소화물 형성 분해 싸이클링은 Mg 입자의 표면에 crack을 만들고 Mg의 입자 크기를 줄여 수소 흡수 방출 속도를 증가시킨다.
수소 기술-경제체제로의 이행을 위한 장단기 시나리오 분석

최근 수소에너지가 환경문제를 해결해 줄 수 있는 대체에너지로 각광받으면서 수소에너지의 사용이 가지고 올 새로운 에너지 체제에 대한 시나리오 연구가 다양하게 수행되고 있다. 수소 기술-경제체제의 가능한 시나리오를 제시하는 것은 미래 사회에서 수소가 에너지 운반체로서 담당하게 될 역할을 명확히 할 수 있음과 동시에 에너지라는 거대한 기술-경제체제의 변화를 위해 현재 수행해야 할 에너지 정책과 전략에 대해 큰 시사점을 줄 수 있기에 의미가 있다.본 연구는 수소의 생산, 저장 및 운반, 그리고 응용분야에서의 다양한 기술의 SWOT 분석을 통해 가능한 시나리오를 단기와 장기로 나누어 제시했다. 그 결과 앞으로의 수소 기술-경제체제의 구조는 기술적 완성도 뿐 아니라 사회적 수용성, 사회적 적응성 등 외부의 환경변화에도 많은 영향을 받음을 알았다. 그렇기 때문에 수소에너지에 관한 전략과 정책은 이러한 변동을 충분히 고려하면서 결정돼야 한다.
탄화수소 환원제 변화가 Fe/ZSM5 촉매를 사용하는 탈질 HC-SCR 반응에 미치는 영향

HC-SCR was conducted using Fe/ZSM5 catalyst coated over 200 cpi cordierite in the conditions of atomspheric pressure and 200℃-500℃. Among the tested hydrocarbon reductants, isobutane (i-C_4H_10) showed the highest de-NO_x yield of 69% at 320℃ with the mole ratio of reductant/NO_x =1.0. De-NO_x yield resulted by the change of alkane reductant was increased as the carbon number of alkane reductant was increased. The order of increase of de-NO_x yield was proportional to the order of decrease of bonding energy between C and H of reductant, where the H abstraction step from alkane molecule could be the rate controlling step of HC-SCR.

A set of kinetics study on the reduction with CH_4, oxidation with steam and oxidation with air was performed for Fe_2O_3/ZrO_2. Fe_2O_3/ZrO_2 was prepared by aerial oxidation method. The reactivity experiments were performed in a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) with different reacting gas concentrations and temperatures. The obtained activation energy of reduction by methane, oxidation by water and oxidation by air are 219 kJ/mol, 238 and 20 respectively.

Due to high oil prices and global warming problems, researching an alternative energy source and decreasing the energy usage will be the key in the future. Unlike other alternative energy sources, geothermal energy is less dependent on the surrounding environment. Geothermal energy is the ideal energy source for buildings due to the simple and space saving installation. The system is semi permanent once it is installed and this will help reduce the energy usage in controlling the climate in buildings. Geothermal energy does not emit carbon dioxide and other gases that are harmful to the environment. Therefore geothermal energy will be the key in solving high oil prices and a decrease in fossil fuels by applying the geothermal energy system to homes to counter future energy crisis.
수소화기상증착공정을 이용한 마그네슘하이드라이드 미세분말 합성

This work describes the hydriding chemical vapor synthesis (HCVS) of the MgH2 in a hydrogen atmosphere and the product's hydriding-dehydridng properties. Mg powder was used as a starting material to synthesize MgH2 and uniformly heated to a temperature of 600oC for Mg vaporization. The effects of hydrogen pressure on the morphology and the composition of HCVS-MgH2 were examined by using X-ray diffraction (XRD)and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It is clearly seen that after the HCVS process, the particle size of synthesized MgH2 was drastically reduced to the submicron or micrometer-scale and these showed different shapes (needle-like nanofibers and angulated plate) depending on the hydrogen pressure. It was found that after the HCVS process, the H2 desorption temperature of HCVS-MgH2 decreased from 380 to 410oC, and the minimum hydrogen desorption tempreature of HCVS-MgH2 powder with needle-like shape can be obtained. In addition, the enhanced hydrogen storage performance for needle-like MgH2 was achieved during subsequent hydriding-dehydriding cycles.
Development of a Thermal Model for Discharge Behavior of MH Hydrogen Storage Vessels

Metal hydride alloys are a promising type of material in hydrogen storage applications, allowing for low-pressure, high-density storage. However, while many studies are being performed on enhancing the hydrogen storage properties of such alloys, there has been little research on large-scale storage vessels which make use of the alloys. In particular, large-scale, high-density storage devices must make allowances for the inevitable generation or absorption of heat during use, which may negatively impact functioning properties of the alloys. In this study, we develop a numerical model of the discharge properties of a high-density MH hydrogen storage device. Discharge behavior for a pilot system is observed in terms of temperature and hydrogen flow rates. These results are then used to build a numerical model and verify its calculated predictions. The proposed model may be applied to scaled-up applications of the device, as well as for analyses to enhance future device designs.

This work is for the design study of natural gas reformer (40 m3/hr over). We used experimental kinetic data from literature. After that, we set up theoretical model based on experimental reaction kinetic data. The shape of reactor is 1.7 m long and 200 mm dia. with cylinder geometry. Volume of reactor is 53.4 liter. Average flow velocity of gases in the reactor has been determined 0.272 m/sec and residence time is 9.26 sec. Reaction temperature is 850℃, with pressure 9.3 Bar. Used natural gas volume is about 9.21 m3/hr. Produced hydrogen is 43.7 m3/hr with no change of pressure. Unreacted natural gas is 0.09 m3/hr and the amount of steam is 26.9 m3/hr. Steam to CH4 (s/c ratio) is 2.91. Reforming reaction take place from the reactor entrance to 120cm region of cylinder type reactor. After the entrance of reacting gases to 120 cm region, the reaction reaches equilibrium which is close to products. This study can be applicable to design various reactors. Output data is in good agreements with the data in literatures1).

All-vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) has been studied actively as one of the most promising electrochemical energy storage systems for a wide range of applications such as electric vehicles, photovoltaic arrays, and excess power generated by electric power plants at night time. Among consisting elements of the VRFB, the ion exchange membrane and the electrode play important roles. In this study, carbon PVC coposite sheets for the VRFB have been developed and electrochemical characteristics investigated. Current collector for VRFB, carbon PVC composite sheets (CPCS), were prepared with G-1028 as a conducting particle, PVC as a polymer, Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as a plasticizer and fumed Silica (FS) as a dispersion agent. CPCS has been shown to have the characteristics as an excellent current collector for VRFB and electrochemical properties of specific resistivity 0.31 Ωcm, which were composed of G-1028 80 wt%, PVC 10 wt%, DBP 5 wt% and FS 5 wt%.

In case of commercializing of the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the suitable emergency response guide is necessary to prepare an accident. In order to suggest the suitable guide for the domestic affairs, the existing external guide about GM, Ford, Honda, and Hyundai was reviewed. The emergency response guides in CAFCP and main FC vehicle makers were included in the analysis. As the results, it was found that the design and make of vehicle for the domestic user are demanded in the emergency response and the guide is made with the shut-down manual picked out for the rescuer and repair man as well as user.
