this paper presents the method that extracts by using watershed algorithm the area which is available for the feature factor in the iris. The inputted image is preprocessed and transferred to the texture block pattern by Polar Coordinate System Transformation. In this paper, the iris feature area is extracted from the image of Texture Block Pattern using Watershed Algorithm. The extracted area is indexed by average value and size of the feature area. After the position information of the feature area is rearranged by Polar Coordinate System Inverse-Transformation. In result, the proposed method showed that is possible to extract the definite iris feature.

This study presents the improvement of cubic spline interpolation without overshoot. The o-riginal cubic spline interpolation has overshoots between two data. They are noises in still image zoom because of getting out of the pixel value. But the improvement of cubic spline in-terpolation removes them and proffers better quality still image than other interpolations.

Recently, the deficit of water resource is going to become a serious issue in the world. In this situation, the continuous guarantee and the management of water resoruces is very important. In this paper, we have studied on the GUI design techniques for Seaside Underground Water Management System. Especially we bring to a focus about its preprocessor using GUI. We improved the efficiency of input task through mutual relations among various input factors that is used in Seaside Underground Water Management System by efficient interface design techniques.
CIE1931 색도좌표에서 경계선과 S-모양의 변환 곡선을 이용한 화질개선을 위한 색상변환 시스템의 설계

In this paper, we propose the color conversion system on the CIE1931 chromaticity-coordinate diagram by using boundary lines and S-shaped curves to emphasize blue and red colors. The proposed system prevents specific colors, such as human skins, from changing by using boundary lines that divide non-conversion areas from conversion areas. The colors in the conversion areas vary along quadratic curves with S-shaped conversion curves based on conversion ratios. The loci of the quadratic curves are very similar to the arc of the white-point line, known as the Planckian locus. The S-shaped curves are selected to change the bluish (or reddish) color to more bluish (or more reddish), while the areas around white color are not changing. The proposed system changes the colors into more bluish and reddish by moving positions of the colors toward left or right on the curves. The proposed system is also experimentally demonstrated with Xilinx Virtex FPGA XCV2000E-6BG560 and the TV set.
NMF 기반 LDA 혼합 알고리즘을 이용한 실시간 얼굴인식 시스템에 관한 연구

In this paper, we propose a new NLM(NMF-based LDA Mixture) algorithm for real-time face recognition system. This system greatly consists of the two parts: 1) face extraction part; 2) face recognition part. In the face extraction part we applied subtraction image, color filtering, eyes and mouth region detection, and normalization method, and then in the face recognition part we used NLM in extracted face candidate region images. The existing recognition system using only PCA(Principal Component Analysis) showed low recognition rates, and it was hard in the recognition system using only LDA(Linear Discriminants Analysis) to apply LDA directly when the training set is small. To overcome these shortcomings, we reduced dimension as the matrix that had non-negative value to be different from former eigenfaces and then applied LDA to the matrix in the proposed system. We have experimented using self-organized DAUFace database and ORL database offered by AT&T laboratory in Cambridge, U.K. to evaluated the performance of the proposed system. The experimental results showed that the proposed method outperformed PCA, LDA, ICA(Independent Component Analysis) and PCA-based LDA mixture method within the framework of recognition accuracy.

Traditional object-oriented models unfortunately lack a mechanism for giving scope to objects. We revisit an object-oriented model in which each object can be given a scope. We illustrate the usefulness of this model by showing that it supports the various forms of dynamic inheritance flexibly.
표면 불균일성에 의한 액정 디렉터 분포내의 결점의 발생 및 동적 특성

액정 디렉터 분포내에서 결점의 동적 특성을 모델링할 수 있는 fast Q 텐서법을 이용하여 불균일한 표면에서 발생하는 결점의 발생과 동적특성에 대하여 연구하였다. 수치해석을 통하여 표면의 불균일성이 강한 스트레인 에너지를 발생함으로써 결점을 발생할 수 있음을 증명하였다. 결점의 발생에 대한 계산 결과를 검증하기 위하여 실험과 계산 결과를 비교하였다.

In this paper the compact microstrip array antenna with CP(circularly polarized) radiation for GPS(Global Positioning System) is designed. the compact operation of microstrip antenna is obtained by inserting suitable slits in the radiating patch, and CP radiation by giving the unequal length of two pairs of slits, which splits the resonant mode of interest into two orthogonal near degerate modes. Feed network of array antenna is made by using a two-layer structure and via connection probe. By numerical and experimental results, the patch size of compact CP microstrip antenna is reduced about 40% than conventional one.

This paper presents the design and implementation of a receiver operating between a rotary machine encoder and DSP. The receiver connects with the encoder using 1 bit serial data and DSP using 16 bits bus line. The receiver and encoder use the different operating frequency each other. We suggest a new apparatus and method of synchronized code for header detection in 1bit serial communication. The system operating frequency can be changed into 20MHz or 60MHz by using the external port such as 'clk_select'.
