Kalman Filters for Continuous-time Fractional-order Systems Involving Fractional-order Colored Noises Using Tustin Generating Function

Zhe Gao 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2018 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.16 No.3

This study presents fractional-order Kalman filers for linear fractional-order systems with colored noises using Tustin generating function. A continuous-time fractional-order system with the fractional-order colored process noise is discretized by Tustin generating function. The augmented vector consists of the state and the colored noise is offered to construct an augmented system based on the discretized state equation of a fractional-order system and the colored process noise. The Tustin fractional-order Kalman filter is designed based on the augmented system to obtain the state estimation, effectively. Besides, the colored noise involved in the measurement of a continuous-time fractional-order system is also discussed, and the corresponding Tustin fractional-order Kalman filter is provided in this study. Two illustrative examples are given to verify the effectiveness of Tustin fractionalorder Kalman filters for the colored process and measurement noises.

Luteolin inhibits H2O2-induced cellular senescence via modulation of SIRT1 and p53

Ri Zhe Zhu Bing Si Li Shang Shang Gao Jae Ho Seo Byung-Min Choi 대한생리학회-대한약리학회 2021 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.25 No.4

Luteolin, a sort of flavonoid, has been reported to be involved in neu-roprotective function via suppression of neuroinflammation. In this study, we in-vestigated the protective effect of luteolin against oxidative stress-induced cellular senescence and its molecular mechanism using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced cellular senescence model in House Ear Institute-Organ of Corti 1 cells (HEI-OC1). Our results showed that luteolin attenuated senescent phenotypes including alterations of morphology, cell proliferation, senescence-associated β-galactosidase expression, DNA damage, as well as related molecules expression such as p53 and p21 in the oxidant challenged model. Interestingly, we found that luteolin induces expression of sirtuin 1 in dose- and time-dependent manners and it has protective role against H2O2-induced cellular senescence by upregulation of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1). In contrast, the inhibitory effect of luteolin on cellular senescence under oxidative stress was abolished by silencing of SIRT1. This study indicates that luteolin effectively protects against oxidative stress-induced cellular senescence through p53 and SIRT1. These results suggest that luteolin possesses therapeutic potentials against age-related hearing loss that are induced by oxidative stress.

Diblock copolymer worms stabilized pH-responsive Pickering emulsions: An efficient and recyclable platform for Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction

        Zhe Xiang,Xi Zhao,Guoxiang Wang,Chenze Qi,Sujing Zhou,Jinjing Li,Yong Gao 한국공업화학회 2023 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.117 No.-

Pickering emulsions were promising platforms for the heterogeneous reactions due to both their largeinterfacial areas and high stability, whereas both the product separation and the emulsifier recoveryvia simple and efficient strategies for remain a concern. In this study, we constructed an efficient andrecyclable platform for interfacial catalytic reaction adopting pH-responsive n-decane-in-waterPickering emulsions. Pickering emulsions were prepared employing core cross-linked PEO45-PGMA74(CCE45G74) diblock copolymer worms as Pickering emulsifiers. CCE45G74 diblock copolymer worms wereprepared via the combination of photo-initiated polymerization induced self-assembly strategy and thecore covalent cross-linking with ethylenediamine. The prepared n-decane-in-water Pickering emulsionsshowed a high stability during the storage at the room temperature, whereas a rapid demulsification tookplace at a lower pH, such as 2.5. Alkali-catalyzed Claisen-Schmidt condensation reactions between benzaldehydeand acetone were conducted in n-decane-in-water Pickering emulsions at 30 C. The yield ofdibenzylidene acetone could reach 99% after 12 h of reaction. The reaction efficiency was far higher thanthat at the plain n-decane-water (30%). This catalytic platform could be repeatedly used for three cycles

MicroRNA‑9 inhibits proliferation and progression in retinoblastoma cells by targeting PTEN

        Gao Manhai,Cui Zhe,Zhao Dan,Zhang Shurong,Cai Qiang 한국유전학회 2021 Genes & Genomics Vol.43 No.9

Background Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most prevalent primary intraocular malignancy, which commonly occurs during infant and childhood. Objective Our study aimed to investigate whether microRNA-9 (miR-9) could regulate RB cells and its mechanism. Methods qRT-PCR analysis was used to detect the expression of miR-9. In addition, to detect the migration of RB cells, wound healing assay was conducted. Xenograft tumor models in nude mice were also established, in order to assess the efects of miR-9 on tumor growth. qRT-PCR, luciferase reporter assay and western blot analysis were used to detect the target of miR-9. Results Initially, the expression level of miR-9 was signifcantly decreased in the RB tissues and blood samples from patients with RB. qRT-PCR, luciferase reporter assay and western blot analysis were used to confrm that PTEN was the target genes of miR-9 and it was negatively regulated by miR-9. When the expression of miR-9 was up-regulated, the cell viability, proliferation, migration and tumor formation were signifcantly suppressed. Furthermore, the expression level of PTEN was decreased after transfection of miR-9 mimic. Taken together, these results indicated that miR-9 might suppress the cell viability, proliferation, migration and tumor formation in RB by inhibiting PTEN. Conclusion The in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that miR-9 acts as a tumor suppressor function in RB cells and might serve as novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of RB.

A Deflectable Switched Reluctance Motor/Generator for Wave Energy Conversion and Underwater Propulsion Systems

        Gao Shihao,Wang Qunjing,Li Guoli,Qian Zhe,Zhou Sili,Li Zheng 대한전기학회 2021 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.16 No.6

This paper proposes a defl ectable switched reluctance motor/generator, which can be used in wave energy conversion and underwater propulsion systems. When an underwater vehicle stops working, the ocean current drives the turbine blades connected to the motor to rotate, and the rotating turbine blades drive the defl ectable generator shaft to generate electricity. The defl ectable motor can complete multi-degree-of-freedom motion, so it can receive ocean current energy in multiple directions, thereby improving energy extraction effi ciency. When the underwater vehicle starts to work, the defl ectable motor can freely adjust the course of the vehicle, so that the vehicle can yaw freely under water. The fi nite element method is used to analyze the air gap fl ux density during rotation and defl ection. The relationship between the fl ux, torque and current of a single coil under diff erent rotor positions is obtained, and then the output current and voltage of the defl ectable generator are obtained. Finally, a prototype was made for experimental verifi cation.

Ultrasensitive SERS-Based Immunoassay of Tumor Marker in Serum Using Au-Ag Alloy Nanoparticals and Ag/AgBr Hybrid Nanostructure

        Yongfeng Gao,Yuanhui Feng,Lu Zhou,Lucia Petti,Zhe Wang,Jun Zhou,Shusen Xie,Jian Chen,Yanping Qing 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2018 NANO Vol.13 No.1

Ultrasensitive detection of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is critical for the early diagnosis of liver cancer. In this work, a novel surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-based immunoassay complex has been successfully developed for the detection of AFP by using the Au-Ag alloy nanoparticals and the Ag/AgBr hybrid nanostructure. As the typical bimetal or metal/semiconductor plasmonic materials, besides the strong SERS enhancement characteristics, the Au-Ag alloy nanoparticals exhibit excellent monodispersity and the Ag/AgBr hybrid nanostructure demonstrates good stability. The experimental results show that the SERS-based immunoassay of AFP presents a low limit of detection of 1.86 fg/mL and a broad dynamic range from 2 fg/mL to 0.8 g/mL. Furthermore, the clinical applicability of the proposed SERS-based immunoassay has been assessed by the detection of AFP in the human serum samples of cancer patient and healthy person. The test data are consistent well with that of chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) in the relative errors of –8.82–8.06% and show better detection sensitivity. It reveals that the proposed immunoassay protocol is significant for giving insight into the design of ultrasensitive biosensor and the point-of-care testing of cancers.

Compression and Shear Properties of Unreinforced Masonry Structures Reinforced by ECC/HECC subjected to High Temperatures

        Shuling Gao,Deshuai Hao,Yanping Zhu,Zhe Wang 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.2

In the case of fire, ordinary mortar as the external plastering layer of masonry structure is prone to explosive peeling at high temperature. Therefore, the hybrid fiber reinforced engineered cementitious composites (HECC) is used to replace the ordinary mortar plastering to strengthenmasonry structure, so as to improve the mechanical properties of the masonry structure and the adhesion with the reinforcement layer. In this paper, PB-HECC (mixed with PVA and basalt fibers) and PS-HECC (mixed with PVA and steel fibers) are used to improve the mechanical properties after high temperature, prism compression test and triple shear test are carried out at different temperatures. The test results show that the bonding performance of the engineered cementitious composites (ECC) reinforcement layer is much better than that of ordinary mortar. When the temperature is less than 200oC, the reinforcement layer mixed with basalt fiber (PB group) or steel fiber (PS group) has a higher bearing capacity. PB group has strong energy consumption capacity, but its shear strength decreases the most; When the temperature exceeds 200oC, PS group has the highest compressive capacity, shear bearing capacity and deformation capacity, maintaining relatively good residual mechanical properties.

A Privacy-Preserving Health Data Aggregation Scheme

( Yining Liu ),( Gao Liu ),( Chi Cheng ),( Zhe Xia ),( Jian Shen ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.8

Patients` health data is very sensitive and the access to individual`s health data should be strictly restricted. However, many data consumers may need to use the aggregated health data. For example, the insurance companies needs to use this data to setup the premium level for health insurances. Therefore, privacy-preserving data aggregation solutions for health data have both theoretical importance and application potentials. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving health data aggregation scheme using differential privacy. In our scheme, patients` health data are aggregated by the local healthcare center before it is used by data comsumers, and this prevents individual`s data from being leaked. Moreover, compared with the existing schemes in the literature, our work enjoys two additional benefits: 1) it not only resists many well known attacks in the open wireless networks, but also achieves the resilience against the human-factor-aware differential aggregation attack; 2) no trusted third party is employed in our proposed scheme, hence it achieves the robustness property and it does not suffer the single point failure problem.

Adaptive Fractional-order Unscented Kalman Filters for Nonlinear Fractional-order Systems

        Yue Miao,Zhe Gao,Chuang Yang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.4

In this paper, the Gruwald-Letnikov method is used to discretize a continuous-time nonlinear fractional-order system with unknown parameters and fractional-order, and an adaptive fractional-order unscented Kalman filter is proposed. Taking the unknown fractional-order and parameters as the augmented states, the augmented state equation is established to solve the problem on the unknown fractional-order and parameters. In order to improve the accuracy of state estimation, an adaptive fractional-order unscented Kalman filter is designed to deal with the nonlinear functions by using the unscented transformation. Meanwhile, the problem on state estimation for the estimated system with a non-differentiable nonlinear functions is also solved. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by two simulation examples.
