Towards the Digitalized Bank in the Age of Digital Convergence : Focusing on Pakistan Case

In recent decades, the development of information and communication technologies has changed many industry sectors by making the government and business operations more effective and efficient. The emergence of mobile commerce has been considered an important technology shift and it has changed the banking industry. The digital adaptation started off as an option but has evolved into a necessity in every bank’s agenda around the globe. The digital convergence and innovative technologies are forming remarkable disruption in the banking sector and the rate of change is increasing. The digital transformation is accelerating in the banking industry of Pakistan due to the changing payments landscape, competition from Fintechs and the arrival of mobile money services through telecoms. In Pakistan, most of the banks have been moved towards digital banking but some banks like the Bank of Khyber still lack. In this paper, the SWOT analysis method is used for the Bank of Khyber and useful suggestions have been provided for the adoption of digital banking. The growth and development of the financial business of the bank have put forward some strong measures for it. The Bank of Khyber needs to embrace the latest technology, start e-banking services and digital transformation for the high economic growth of the bank and fulfil customer satisfaction.
Spatial Analysis of Colorectal Cancer Cases in Kuala Lumpur

Background: In Malaysia, data from the Malaysian Health Ministry showed colorectal cancer (CRC) to be the second most common type of cancer in 2007-2009, after breast cancer. The same was apparent after looking at males and females cases separately. In the present study, the Geographic Information System (GIS) was employed to describe the distribution of CRC cases in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia, according to socio-demographic factors (age, gender, ethnicity and district). Materials and Methods: This retrospective review concerned data for patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the years 1995 to 2011 collected from the Wilayah Persekutuan Health Office, taken from the cancer notification form (NCR-2), and patient medical records from the Surgical Department, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC). A total of 146 cases were analyzed. All the data collected were analysed using ArcGIS version 10.0 and SPSS version 19.0. Results: Patients aged 60 to 69 years accounted for the highest proportion of cases (34.2%) and males slightly predominated 76 (52.1%), Chinese had the highest number of registered cases at 108 (74.0%) and staging revealed most cases in the 3rd and 4th stages. Kernel density analysis showed more cases are concentrated up in the northern area of Petaling and Kuala Lumpur subdistricts. Spatial global pattern analysis by average nearest neighbour resulted in nearest neighbour ratio of 0.75, with Z-score of -5.59, p value of <0.01 and the z-score of -5.59. Spatial autocorrelation (Moran's I) showed clustering significant with p<0.01, Z score 3.14 and Moran's Index of 0.007. When mapping clusters with hotspot analysis (Getis-Ord Gi), hot and cold spots were identified. Hot spot areas fell on the northeast side of KL. Conclusions: This study demonstrated significant spatial patterns of cancer incidence in KL. Knowledge about these spatial patterns can provide useful information to policymakers in the planning of screening of CRC in the targeted population and improvement of healthcare facilities to provide better treatment for CRC patients.
Poor Knowledge and Practice Towards Breast Cancer among Women in Baghdad City, Iraq

Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among females worldwide. The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge and practice about breast cancer and its related factors among women in Baghdad city, Iraq. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 508 women aged 18 to 55 years from four non-governmental organizations (NGO) in Baghdad city, Iraq. A self-administered questionnaire on breast cancer knowledge and practice was distributed to participants during weekly activity of the NGO. Results: A total of 61.2% of the respondents had poor knowledge, only 30.3% performed breast self-examination (BSE) and 41.8% said that they did not know the technique to perform BSE. Associations between knowledge and marital status and age were significant. For practice, working status, education, age and family income were significant. After controlling for cofounders, the most important contributing factors for poor knowledge among respondents were marital status and not performing BSE, with adjusted odds ratio of 1.6 and 1.8 respectively. Conclusions: Breast cancer knowledge and practice of BSE are poor among women in Baghdad city, Iraq. More promotion regarding breast cancer signs and symptoms and also how to perform BSE should be conducted using media such as television and internet as these constituted the main sources of information for most women in our study.

Cutaneous Leishmaniasis is endemic in tribal district Khyber for last more than one decade. The causative agent Leishmania tropica is known but sand fly species responsible for the transmission of disease still needs to be investigated. A total of 2647 Phlebotomus females belonging to 11 species were divided into 435 batches and subjected to PCR for detection of Leishmania in sand flies. A total of 50 batches belonging to three species i.e. Phlebotomus Phlebotomus sergenti, Phlebotomus papatasi and Phlebotomus alexandri were detected positive for Leishmania tropica. Overall minimum infection rate was 1.89% (50/2647). Highest minimum infection rate of 2.11% (39/ 1710) was observed for Phlebotomus sergenti followed by 1.21% (8/661) for Phlebotomus paptasi and 1.82% (3/ 165) for Phlebotomus alexandri. Both blood fed (38%) and unfed (62%) sand flies were detected positive for the parasite DNA. Positive specimens were collected throughout the active season, from all collection sites of the study area. Detection of Leishmania parasite in multiple species of Phlebotomus indicates the possible role of these species as vector of disease in the tribal district Khyber of Pakistan. It also indicates the probable complex transmission cycle of the disease involving multiple vector species in the study area. Devising a control strategy by focusing on these vector species, may reduce the disease burden in the cutaneous leishmaniasis endemic tribal district Khyber.

Motivated by the temporal relaxation feature of the Jeffrey model and its practical uses in the rheological modeling of several vital liquids, this study aimed to present a theoretical analysis of three-dimensional MHD Jeffrey nanofluid flows over a dual stretching surface with velocity slip conditions. By adopting the nonhomogeneous nanofluid model along with the passive control approach of nanoparticles, the current flow problem is solved semi-analytically via the homotopy analysis method for convective heating and multiple slip conditions. Dynamically, the magnetic and viscoelastic parameters have a declining effect on the velocity distributions in both directions in the existence and absence of slip effects, while the Deborah number has generally an escalating influence on the flow distributions. On the other hand, the variations of the velocity profiles in both directions are always greater in the presence of slip effect as compared to the nonslip case. Besides, the velocity stretching factor rises the velocity profiles in both directions. Furthermore, this increasing impact is dominant for the velocity distribution along the $y{\rm{-}}$direction as compared to the velocity field along the $x{\rm{-}}$direction. Thermally, the greater Biot number increases the temperature distribution. However, the bigger Schmidt number reduces the concentration distribution.
Laser Polarization Effects on the Photodetachment Cross Section of H− Near a Reflecting Surface

The influence of laser polarization angle on the photodetachment of H<sup>−</sup> near a reflecting surface is investigated based on a theoretical imaging technique. An analytical expression for the photodetachment cross section is derived. The photodetachment cross section of H<sup>−</sup> near a reflecting surface is found to be not only related to the inter-ion-surface distance and the photon energy but also the laser polarization angle <i>θ<sub>L</sub></i>. A strong oscillating structure is noted for <i>θ<sub>L</sub></i> = 0°. As the angle continues to increase, the oscillating structure diminishes, and for <i>θ<sub>L</sub></i> = 90°, the oscillating structure in the cross section reduces to a non-oscillating structure.
