Aim(s): This study aims to investigate the needs for school-age asthma education programs for school-age children, parents, and teachers and understand parents" and teachers" expectations for applying augmented reality to asthma education. Method(s): The participants were 339, 135 school-age children, 132 parents, and 82 teachers. Data were collected from children, parents, teachers of needs for asthma education, the requirement of asthma education, and parents and teachers of expectations for applying augmented reality to asthma education. Data were analyzed using the descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffe’s test. Result(s): Asthmatic children, peer groups, parents, and teachers all showed a high need for education for each other. And the education requirements for "how to deal with asthma attack" was the highest. The application of augmented reality programs to asthma education showed positive expectations from both parents and teachers. Conclusion(s): It is necessary to develop an augmented reality program for children"s asthma education in which asthmatic children, peer groups, parents, and teachers can participate together.
Effects of a Neonatal Nursing Practice Program on Students’ Stress, Self-efficacy, and Confidence
Yunsoo Kim,박호란,Sung Sil Hong,Hee Jin Chung 한국아동간호학회 2018 Child Health Nursing Research Vol.24 No.3
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a neonatal nursing practice program for nursing students on students’ stress, self-efficacy, and confidence. Methods: A 1-group pre- and post- study design was used. The participants consisted of 64 nursing students who were in a pediatric nursing clinical practicum at a nursing college in Seoul from September 2015 to May 2016. The program consisted of 3 stages-orientation, practice, and debriefing-and was conducted for 3 hours during a 2-week period of the pediatric nursing clinical practicum. The dependent variables were neonatal nursing practice stress, self-efficacy, and confidence. Data were analyzed using the paired t-test, the Pearson correlation coefficient, the x2 test, and descriptive statistics with SPSS for Windows version 22.0. Results: The neonatal nursing practice program was effective at decreasing clinical practice-related stress and increasing confidence and self-efficacy regarding neonatal nursing practice. Conclusion: The neonatal nursing practice program may effectively promote the integration of theoretical knowledge and practice. In the future, we propose to develop various educational programs that reinforce basic nursing skills for neonates as part of an effective pediatric nursing clinical practicum.
Stock Mispricing and Dual Holders’ Loan Pricing
Yun-Soo Kim,Yeonggyu Yun 한국재무학회 2023 한국재무학회 학술대회 Vol.2023 No.11
We investigate how dual holders who simultaneously hold loans and equity shares of a firm respond to stock mispricing of the firm. Using the fire-sales shock driven by mutual fund outflows as a measure of stock mispricing, we find that dual holders provide loans with lower spreads to the firms under the fire-sales shock. The result is driven by dual holders’ incentive to support the firm as long-term investors. We establish causality by exploiting mergers between financial institutions. In a firm-level analysis, we find that dual holders’ loan provisions offset the negative effects of the fire-sales shock on corporate investments. Overall, our results highlight dual holders’ unique role in mitigating the real effects of stock mispricing events.
Phenological growth stages of Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng) according to the extended BBCH scale
Yun-Soo Kim,Chol-Soo Park,Dong-Yun Lee,Joon-Soo Lee,Seung-Hwan Lee,Jun-Gyo In,Tae-Kyun Hong 고려인삼학회 2021 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.45 No.4
Background: Phenological studies are a prerequisite for accomplishing higher productivity and better crop quality in cultivated plants. However, there are no phenological studies on Panax ginseng that improve its production yield. This study aims to redefine the phenological growth stages of P. ginseng based on the existing Biologische Bundesanstalt, Bundessortenamt und Chemische Industrie (BBCH) scale and proposes a disease control reference. Methods: This study was conducted at the Korea Ginseng Corporation Experiment Station in Gyeonggi province, South Korea. Phenological observations were performed once weekly or twice monthly, based on the developmental stages. The existing BBCH scale with a three-digit code was used to redefine and update P. ginseng’s phenological growth codes. Results: The phenological description is divided into eight principal growth stages: three for vegetative growth (perennating bud, aerial shoot, and root development), four for reproductive growth (reproductive organ development, flowering, fruit development, and fruit maturation), and one for senescence according to the extended BBCH scale. A total of 58 secondary growth stages were described within the eight principal growth stages. Under each secondary growth stage, four mesostages are also taken into account, which contains the distinct patterns of the phenological characteristics in ginseng varieties and the process of transplanting seedlings. A practical management program for disease control was also proposed by using the BBCH code and the phenological data proposed in this work. Conclusion: The study introduces an extended BBCH scale for the phenological research of P. ginseng.
