        종 분포 모형을 이용한 구상나무림의 지속 및 쇠퇴에 관한 연구 - 전라남도 광양시 백운산을 중심으로 -

        The present study investigated the habitats of Korean fir trees (Abies koreana E. H. Wilson) on Mt. Baekwun (Baekwun-san), determined the current distribution, quantified the contribution of biological and nonbiological environmental factors affecting the distribution, derived actual and potential habitats, presented a plan for the establishment of protected areas, applied RCP 8.5 climate change scenario to analyze the effects of climate change on the future distribution of Korean fir trees, and predicted future potential habitats. According to the results of the study, 3,325 Korean fir trees (DBH >= 2.5 cm) inhabited Mt. Baekwun, and their distribution area was approximately 150 ha. Populations of Korean fir trees were confirmed to exist at an altitude of 900 m above sea level and were distributed up to 1,200 m. Based on potential distribution, areas appropriate for habitation by Korean fir trees were analyzed to be 450 ha, three times the current distribution area, with a focus on Sang Peak (Sang-bong), Eokbul Peak (Eokbul-bong), Ddari Peak (Ddari-bong), and Dosol Peak (Dosol-bong). The forest stands near Sang Peak, the main peak, were evaluated as those with the most appropriate potential for the habitation of Korean fir trees, and populations of the trees tended to prefer the northern slope rather than the southern slope. When climate change scenario RCP 8.5 was applied and future potential distribution was analyzed, the habitats were expected to decrease in area to 20 ha by 2050, with a focus on Sang Peak, and areas appropriate for habitation were predicted not to exist by 2080. Judging from such results, as global warming accelerates, the habitats of Korean fir trees are clearly expected to move from lowlands to highlands.

        동물과 사람유래 Vancomycin 내성 장구균의 항균제 감수성 비교

        It has been recently reported the possibility in the bansfer of antimicrobial resistance to other animals and humans. In particular, vancomycin resistant enterococci (VRE), which have been known as a principal antimicrobial resistant bacteria in humans, have been increased as a pathogen of nosocomial infections. And then animal VRE were suspected as an origin of human VRE. In this study, we isolated Enterococcus spp. from animals, identified by bio- chemical tests, examined for antimicrobial susceptibility, and then compared the antimicrobial susceptibility of VRE among each other as well as human VRE. Enterococcus iecium (29%) was predominant in Enterococcus species (n=122) isolated from animal feces in this study. E. hirae, E. iecalis, E. casseliflam and E. gallinarum were also isolated as rates of 24%, 21%, 16% and 7%, respectively. The resistance of enterococci to penicillin and tetracycline were 66% and 78%, respectively, and the susceptibility of them to chloramphenicol was 66%. Antimicrobial susceptibility test has shown that 91% of VRE from humans (n=11) was susceptible to chloramphenicol and all resistant to penicillin, rifampin and streptomycin. Seventy-five percentage of VRE from chickens (n = 12) was susceptible to rifampin and resistances of them to penicillin, tetracycline and sbeptomycin were 75%, 83%, and l00%, respectively. Therefore, we confirmed the difference of antimicrobial susceptibility from animals and humans, and the antimicrobial susceptibility test could be one of the simple and useful methods for the epidemiological survey of VRE.

        Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA Typing에 의한 동물과 사람 유래 Vancomycin 내성 장구균의 유전학적 비교

        It has been recently reported the possibility in the transfer of antimicrobial resistant to other animals and humans. In particular, the occurrence of vancomycin resistant enterococci (VRE), which have been known as a principal antimicrobial resistant bacteria in humans, has been increased as a pathogen of nosocomial infections. And then animal VRE were suspected as an origin of human VRE. In this work, we investigated the relatedness between VRE from animals and humans through random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) typing. The genetic relatedness of vanA, vanB, vanC-1 and vanC-2 genotypes was examined by RAPD typing, respectively. van4 genotypes have not been shown high genetic relationship each other, containing VRE from humans (n = 8) and chickens (n = 5). In vanB genotypes from humans (n = 3), 2 isolates were made up one cluster, shown 77.8% homology. Chicken isolates of vanC-1 genotypes (n = 11) were constituted 2 clusters and the homology of 2 clusters was 81.8% and 80.0%, respectively. In case of vanC-2 genotypes (n = 19), 2 isolates from pigs have been shown 76.9% homology. But, between VRE from animals and humans, the isolates of high genetic relationship could not be found and RAPD typing was a useful epidemiological method that could be confirmed the genetic relationship among VRE.

        A dog which referred to animal hospital with chief compliment of left hindlimb lameness, was died under the examination, so we observed this case histopathologically. Clinical signs were hindlimb lameness, dyspnea, exercise intolerance, lethargy, hemoptysis, anorexia, and coughing. The gross findings were 5cm in diameters nodule in the caudal abdomen, swelling and milky nodules of the lung, swelling and gray-white patches of the liver, ovarian cyst and dirofilariasis in the heart. In histopathologic examination, metastatic tumors and microfilaria were observed in the lung, liver, spleen, adrenal gland and kidney.

        The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus was inoculated into swine tracheal organ culture. The ballooning degeneration of the tracheal ciliated epithelium and a decrease of ciliary activity from the tracheal organs infected with PRRS virus were observed one day post-infection(PI). Tracheal epithelium showed degeneration and focal necrosis 2 days PI. Epithelial necrosis and loss of cilia and epithelial cells became more severe 3 and 4 days PI. An entire loss of cilia and epithelial cells were recognized 4 days PI, however, control tracheal organs were normal during the period of the experiment except a little decrease of ciliary activities with time..

      • 엔로플록사신 액제의 닭 호흡기 및 소화기 감염증에 대한 예방 및 치료효과

        We evaluated the efficacy of the liquid form of enrofloxacin against poultry respiratory and digestive infections, the major problems in the poultry industry, from diverse diagnosis viewpoints. Results obtained through this study were as follows: 1. The liquid form of enrofloxacin showed good acceptability to poultry owing to no abhorrence to the drug by chickens, which indicated its suitability for mixing in drinking water. 2. The application of the enrofloxacin formulation improved the productivity of the chicken farm to a great extent by lowering the death toll of chicken raised in the farm. 3. The use of the drug shortened the days to the market, and increased the body weight at the time of marketing. 4. Preventive and therapeutic effects of the liquid enrofloxacin were observed higher than ampicillin, a major antibiotic used in poultry farming. From above results, the liquid form of enrofloxacin would find its use for the prevention and treatment of digestive and respiratory infections, let alone the growth promotion and feed efficiency, especially in the chicken farming practice.

        情神分裂病 患者의 腦梁과 視床 : 腦 磁氣共鳴映像 硏究 Magnetic Resonance Imaing Study

        남성 정신분열병 환자에서 대조군에 비하여 뇌량무릎(genu)부위가 유의하게 작았으며 여성 정신분열병 환자군에서는 양군에서 차이가 없었다. 시상의 면적에서는 양군의 차이가 없었다. 이러한 결과는 남성 정신분열병에서 전전두엽의 크기가 작을 가능성을 시사하며, 또한 남성 정신분열병이 여성에 비하여 신경발달학적인 이상이 많을 가능성을 생각할 수 있다. Magnetic resonance imaging study about size of corpus callosum and thalamus of the shizophrenic patient. Many previous studies have been performed. But the result have been inconsistent. We studied with developed semiautomated measurement method. Using DSM-Ⅳ diagnostic criteria of schizphrenia, we selected 20 subjects and 22 controls. We measured area of corpus callosum and thalamus in midsagittal image with NIH image software. Divided 7 areas of corpus callosum as Witelson method and area of thalamus were measured. Significant difference was found in genu area of male corpus callosum, but no significant difference was found in female between schizophrenia and control. Above finding suggests that male schizophrenia may have neurodevelopmental abnormalities and prefrontal abnormalities.

      • 인공치아 이식 후 발생한 편측성 상악동염 1예

        Recently, dental implant is frequently performed in dentistry. It can give rise to complications such as maxillary sinusitis, oroantral fistula, displacement of implants and others. Among these complications, maxillary sinusitis is one of the severe complication, which is being reported to occur rarely. The complications of dental implant are often accompanied by gingival swelling, pain, fistula and other symptoms, for which immediate therapeutic measures may be implemented. The clinical diagnosis of sinusitis after dental implant is confirmed by radiologic findings and clinical symptoms. It can be treated with medical and surgical therapy. The authors experienced a case with unilateral maxillary sinusitis developed after dental implant performed at the dental clinic, which was alleviated by performing endoscopic sinus surgery. By reporting this case, we aimed to call attention to the complications of sinusitis and consider implant displacement in suspicious cases of acute maxillary sinusitis.

      • 재생 골재를 콘크리트 포장에 활용하기 위한 기초 물성 연구

        현재 국내에서 연간 2000만톤이 넘는 건설 폐기물이 발생하고 있다. 이들 건설 폐기물을 이용한 골재 생산이 많아짐에 따라 재생 골재를 어떻게 활용할 것인가에 대한 많은 관심이 기울고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 재생 골재를 사용한 콘크리트와 천연 골재를 사용한 콘크리트의 강도를 비교함으로서 재생 골재를 콘크리트 포장 적용 가능성 여부 및 그 한계를 알아보았다. 국내 채석장의 암종을 중심으로 대표암종을 선택하고 이 암들을 사용한 콘크리트의 강도와 재생 골재를 사용한 콘크리트의 압축강도, 인장 강도, 휨강도를 비교하여 보았다. 실험 결과 재생 골재를 사용한 콘크리트의 강도가 천연 골재를 사용한 콘크리트의 50∼70% 수준으로 나타났으며, 특히 콘크리트 포장에 있어서 주요 파라메타인 휨강도와 인장 강도의 경우 많은 차이를 보였다. 따라서 재생 골재를 콘크리트 표층으로 쓰기에는 부적절한 것으로 판단되었고 따라서 lean 콘크리트를 비롯한 하부층으로 활용 방안이 모색되어야 할 것이다. Recently, Construction wastes over 20 million ton annually were reported in Korea. Many research on recycling such wastes are focused on the application to the landfill area. In this study, basic material properties are obtained from the concrete specimens using various aggregates including reclaimed aggregate. The flexural strength between concrete using recycled aggregate and natural one were compared to find limitation applying it to highway construction. The representative aggregates including genesis were selected to find properties of concrete by surveying national-wide quarries. Various strength recycled and natural aggregate were acquired from both destructive and non-destructive tests. From the test, low strength about 50∼70 percent on the concrete using recycled aggregate was observed comparing to the concrete using natural aggregate. Especially, much differences in flexural strength that represents a major parameter in the design and evaluation of concrete pavement was found. Therefore, it was concluded that making concrete slab to highway construction using recycled aggregate was not applicable. Different application area such as lean concrete are further studied.
