      • 水原樹木園地域內의 自然森林植生 調査結果

        樹木園 活成豫定地를 對象으로 土壤 水分含量과 植生을 調査하여 앞으로의 樹木園 造成에 필요한 情報를 얻음과 동시에 樹木園 造成에 따른 植生破壞後 原來植生에 關한 情報가 必要할 때 參考하기 爲하여 1985年 6月 12日에 本 調査를 實施하였는데 그 結果는 다음과 같다. 1. 全體的으로 겨이삭(Agrostis clavata var. nukabo)의 優占度가 매우 높았으며 씀바귀(Ixeris dentata)와 흰씀박귀(Ixeris dentata var. albiflora)는 극히 乾燥한 곳을 제외하고는 대부분 優占度가 높았다. 濕한 곳에는 왕비늘사초(Carex maximowiczii), 기장대풀(Isachne globosa) 等이, 극히 乾燥한 곳에서는 잔디(Zoysia japonica)가, 보통 乾燥한 곳에서는 그늘사초(Carex lanceolata), 김의털(Festuca ovina) 等이 優占度가 높았다. 2. 特히 稀貴植物인 선제비꽃(Viola raddeana)群落과 진퍼리용담(Grntiana scabra var. buergeri for stenophylla)이 Block 3(습지)에 있으므로 앞으로 이 區域은 注意깊게 保存되어야 할 것이다. 3. 土壤 水分含量이 最低 14.7%에서 最高 89.9%까지 分布하여 乾濕의 差異가 심하게 나타났다. 特히 調査 時期가 乾濕期인데도 土壤 水分含量이 70%가 넘는 곳이 3개소나 된다. 이 곳은 地下水位가 높아서 濕地이므로 濕地植物園을 造成해야 될 것이다. 植生의 造成狀態가 區域에 따라 變異가 심하게 나타났기 때문에 이 林地가 매우 不安定한 狀態에 있다고 볼 수 있을 것이다. Soil moisture contents and vegetation of the forest land planed to establish the Suweon Arboretum had been investigated to obtain some informations for establishing arboretum, and also for keeping the original vegetation composition data after the arboretum was established. The results obtained in this investigation could be summarized as follows. 1. In general, the coverage of Agrostis clavata var. nukabo was very high. The coverage of lxeris dentata and ixeris dentata var. albiflora were high except for very arid blocks. Coverages of Carex maximowiczii and Isachne globosa were high in wet blocks. The coverage of Zoysia japonica was high in very arid blocks and that of Carex lanceolata and Festuca ovina in arid blocks were high. 2. Soil moisture content was distributed from 14.7% to 88.9%. Especially the fact of the high moisture content (74.7, 77.5, 88.9%) in dry season implied that the ground water level of this area was high. The vegetation composition of this forest was varied, too. Therefore, it is considered that the stability of this forest was fragile.

      • 樹木園 造成地域內 地존作業을 위한 아까시나무 除去試驗

        This experiment was conducted at the Seoul National University Arboretum at Seodun-dong, Suweon, Kyeonggi-do, Korea (1) to find out methods killing Robinia pseudoacacia L. effectively and (2) to minimize ecological and aesthetic problems. Glycine and 2, 4-D were treated in several concentration following the saw-scratching and cutting of stems on July 22 and 29, 1985. The results were measured on October 17, 1885. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Ecological problems were decreased by these methods. 2. In case of herbicides treatment on section area, aesthetic problems were minimized, and amounts of herbicide consumption were five times as little as in case of spraying plants with herbicides. 3. The death rate amounted to 100% when the ratio of Glycine solution to water was 1:3, so that the concentration, 1:3 was most economical to kill the tree throughly. 4. The death rate amounted to 100% when the ratio of Glycine solution mixed with 2, 4-D to water was 1:4, therefore Glycine solution mixed with 2, 4-D was more effective than pure Glycine solution. Since 2, 4-D solution was less expensive than Glycine solution and only small amounts of 2, 4-D solution was added, it was most economical and effective method that Glycine solution mixed with 2, 4-D was diluted to the concentration, 1:4 and treated on the stem.

        Microarray Analysis of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1, and Insulin-Induced Gene Expression in FRTL-5 Thyroid Cells

        <P>To determine which genes are regulated by thyroid stimulating hormone (thyrotropin, TSH), insulin and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in the rat thyroid, we used the microarray technology and observed the changes in gene expression. The expressions of genes for bone morphogenetic protein 6, the glucagon receptor, and cyclin D1 were increased by both TSH and IGF-1; for cytochrome P450, 2c37, the expression was decreased by both. Genes for cholecystokinin, glucuronidase, beta, demethyl-Q 7, and cytochrome c oxidase, subunit VIIIa, were up-regulated; the genes for ribosomal protein L37 and ribosomal protein L4 were down-regulated by TSH and insulin. However, there was no gene observed to be regulated by all three: TSH, IGF-1, and insulin molecules studied. These findings suggest that TSH, IGF-1, and insulin stimulate different signal pathways, which can interact with one another to regulate the proliferation of thyrocytes, and thereby provide additional influence on the process of cellular proliferation.</P>

        한국인에서의 Paraoxonase Gene Polymorphism 과 관동맥 질환과의 관계

        Objectives: Paraoxonase is a high density lipoprotein (HDL)-associated enzyme, which has been implicated in preventing low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) from oxidation. The human paraoxonase gene is codominantly expressed as allele A and B. The A allele codes for glutamine(A subtype) and the B allele for arginine(B subtype) at codon 192 of the paraoxonase enzyme. This genetic polymorphism divides the enzyme into high and low activity form It has been believed that this difference of specific activity might change the metabolism of cholesterol and the prevalence of coronary artery disease. The present study investigated the association among the paraoxonase gene polymorphism and the level of plasma lipoprotein and coronary artery disease. Methods: The 416 subjects who have undergone coronary angiography in SNUH were recruited. 7he patients(n=251) had >50% stenosis of at least one of the major coronary arteries. To identify the genotype of paraoxonase, we amplified the target region in the paraoxonase gene by PCR(polymerase chain reaction) and electrophoresed the products. Results: There was no difference between the two groups in the allele frequency (A: B = 0.41: 0.59 in patients, A: B = 0.37: 0.63 in controls; p=0.21) or in the genotype frequency (AA:AB:HB= 45:116:90 in patients, AA:AB:BB=22:77:66 in controls; p=0.41). There was no association of the paraoxonase genotype with serum lipoprotein level and acute coronary syndrome in this study. The B allele was not an independent risk factor for coronary artery disease in this study. Conclusion: The paraoxonase gene 192 polymorphism was not an independent risk factor for coronary artery disease in this study.

        말뚝 인발모형실험에 대한 유한요소해석의 적용성 평가

        본 연구에서는 말뚝의 인발저항에 대한 합리적 평가를 위하여, 다양한 지반 조건(상대밀도, 세립분 함유율)에서 말뚝의 인발거동 모사에 대한 유한요소해석의 적용성을 평가하였다. 즉, 기존의 실내모형실험 결과(You et al., 2018)를 대상으로 동일한 조건에서의 유한요소해석을 실시하였고, 유한요소해석에 이용된 해석모델의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 또한 수치해석을 활용한 말뚝의 인발거동 모사에 대한 적정성을 평가하였다. 그 결과, 가상지반이 적용된 축대칭 해석을 이용하여 말뚝의 주면마찰력을 평가할 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 다양한 지반 조건에 대하여 말뚝-지반 경계면의 전단저항 특성을 반영할 수 있는 축대칭 해석은 말뚝의 합리적인 인발거동 모사가 가능한 해석방법으로 활용이 가능한 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 제안된 해석모델은 말뚝의 응력-변형 관계를 통한 인발거동을 적절하게 모사할 수 있는 것으로 판단되었다. This paper describes the applicability of FEA(Finite Element Analysis) to the simulation of pile pullout behavior under various soil conditions (relative density and fines content), in order to evaluate reasonably the pullout resistance of pile. That is, the results of previous research (You et al., 2018) were analyzed by FEA under the same conditions. The FEA results showed that axisymmetric analysis using virtual ground was able to evaluate the skin friction of the pile. Also, axisymmetric analysis, which can apply the shear resistance characteristics of the pile-soil interface in various soil conditions, could be used as an analytical method that can simulate a reasonable pile pullout behavior. Therefore, the analytical model proposed in this study was able to simulate appropriately the pullout behavior based on the stress-strain relationship of the pile-soil interface.

        지반조건에 따른 말뚝의 인발저항 평가를 위한 말뚝-지반 경계면 강도감소계수 고찰

        본 연구에서는 원지반의 상대밀도와 세립분 함유율의 조건에 따른 말뚝의 인발거동 특성 규명을 위하여, 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석에서는 말뚝과 지반 경계에서의 전단거동을 원활히 모사하기 위해서 경계요소와 경계면 강도감소계수(Rinter)를 부여하였으며, 그 결과를 기존의 실험적 연구결과(You et al., 2018)와 비교함으로써 본 수치해석 방법의 신뢰성을 검증하였고, 말뚝-지반 경계면에서의 변형 특성과 함께 경계요소에 대한 Rinter값의 결정방법을 제시하였다. 해석 결과, 본 연구에서 적용된 해석모델을 이용한 수치해석은 말뚝의 인발모형실험에 의한 말뚝과 지반의 경계면 특성을 적절하게 모사하였다. 또한 제시된 Rinter의 적용에 있어서, 반드시 지반의 상대밀도와 세립분 함유율 조건을 고려해야 할 필요가 있음을 확인 하였다. This paper describes the results of finite element analysis (FEA), in order to investigate a characteristics of pile pullout behavior according to the conditions of the relative density and fines content in original ground. In the FEA, a boundary elements and strength reduction factors (Rinter) on pile-soil interface were applied to simulate appropriately the shear behavior at the pile-soil interface, and then the reliability of numerical analysis method was verified by comparison of FEA results and previous experimental research(You et al., 2018). In addition, a the deformation characteristics at the pile-soil interface and determination method of Rinter value was laid out. The results showed that the FEA, based on the analytical model applied in this study simulates appropriately the characteristics of the pile-soil interface by pullout model test of pile. In order to apply the suggested Rinter value, it is necessary to consider the condition of the relative density and the fines content in ground.

      • Enhancement of high value-added products from microalgal biomass

        While marine life adapts to new environments and produces a variety of materials, of which more than 50,000 microalgae are known, only 30,000 species are highly studied. Currently, production of biofuels using microalgae has a considerable potential, but there are limitations due to economic problems. Accordingly, it is focused on making full use of microalgae biosynthetic materials in order to make biofuel production utilizing microalgae and production of high value-added materials commercially feasible. This study is aimed to enhance productivity of diverse promising products from microalgae. The study consists of three parts, depending on the high value added of microalgae. The first part presents a new stress-based method to rapidly induce triacylglycerol (TAG) and total fatty acid accumulation in Chlorella Effective control of lipid metabolism in microalgae is an important issue in the commercialization of microalgae. The second part is an effective production study of astaxanthin using Haematococcus. We aimed to demonstrate the possibility of microalgae application of C-paints for the purpose of cell growth of Haematococcus, and accumulation of astaxanthin using biocompatible liquid type fluorescent carbon dots (C-paints) during cultivation. The third part was aimed at the efficient extraction of astaxanthin from Haematococcus. as room-temperature green solvents, 10 types of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ([Emim])-based ionic liquids (ILs) were compared and evaluated for their abilities to disrupt H. pluvialis cyst cells for astaxanthin/lipid extraction. As mentioned above, various results obtained in this study can be utilized as useful data showing the possibility of potential use of the microalgae and the target material to maximize the commercial application possibility, and commercialization should be achieved through continuous research.

        위선종의 내시경적 점막 절제술 및 추적 관찰

        Background/Aims: Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) is a useful method in both the accurate diagnosis and treatment of gastric mucosal lesions. A gastric adenoma is a neoplastic lesion which has malignant potential, and therefore it is advisable to have it removed completely when discovered. We evaluated the role of EMR in the treatment of gastric adenomas by analyzing the follow-up endoscopic results of patients treated with EMR for such lesions. Methods: We analyzed the initial endoscopic findings, EMR results, and follow-up endoscopic outcomes of 35 patients with 41 gastric adenomas, from June 1994 to January 1997 in Seoul National University Hospital. Results: 1. The mean follow-up period was 13 months (2∼36) and the mean number of follow-up endoscopic examinations was 2 (1∼8). 2. Of the 41 cases, 37 lesions were resected completely at the initial EMR and no remnant lesions were left grossly untreated. The other 4 lesions resected partially were treated by adjuvant laser therapy or electrocoagulation, and which resulted in no recurrence of adenomas during the fallow-up period. 3. Of the 37 cases resected completely, 3 cases (8%) experienced recurrence at the previous EMR site during the follow-up period. Two recurrent cases involved pure adenomas, but in the other one, adenocarcinomatous foci in the background of the adenoma was found. 4. Three new gastric adenomas from 2 patients were found outside the previous EMR site during the follow-up period. 5. There were no significanty complications related to the EMR. Concluaions: Endascoplc mucosal adesaetian is a safe and effective xnodaliay in the treattnent of gastric adenomas and it is necessary to conduct follow-ups on the patients using a regular endoscopic examination after successful EMR due to the possibility of recurrenee of the adenoma despite the low incidence in this study.
