Objectives: Adolescent suicide is a global problem. This study aimed to identify associations between parental marital status and suicidal behavior. Methods: This study analyzed 118 715 middle and high school students from the 13th and 14th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. The odds ratios (ORs) of suicidal ideation, planning, and attempts were calculated based on parental marital status, living situation, and socioeconomic factors. The data were analyzed using multiple logistic regression. Results: When compared to those living with 2 married biological parents, the ORs of suicidal ideation among adolescents living with either remarried or no parents were 1.34 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.17 to 1.53) and 1.36 (95% CI, 1.11 to 1.66), respectively. For suicidal planning, the OR of those living with 1 remarried biological parent was 1.24 (95% CI, 1.01 to 1.52), and that of those living without parents was 1.28 (95% CI, 0.95 to 1.73), when compared to adolescents living with 2 married biological parents. For suicide attempts, when compared to adolescents with 2 married biological parents, the OR of those living with 1 remarried biological parent was 1.48 (95% CI, 1.17 to 1.87) and that of those living without parents was 2.02 (95% CI, 1.44 to 2.83). For adolescents living with 1 remarried biological parent, suicidal behavior was strongly associated with having no siblings and were weakly associated with not living with grandparents. Conclusions: Suicidal behavior among adolescents was associated with the remarriage and loss of parents. Therefore, special attention and interventions are needed for adolescents in those situations.

동절기 기후시 외기온도 저하에 따라 구조물에 내재된 수분을 동결시켜 터널 라이닝 및 콘크리트 도상과 같은 터널 구조물을 손상시키게 된다. 따라서 동절기 터널 내 영하온도 분포범위를 파악하고자 총 연장 8,293 m 강릉선 ○○장대터널을 대상으로 터널 입구(0 m)에서 3,270 m 거리까지 50개의 온도계측기를 설치하였으며 시간별 내부온도 변화를 계측하였다. 해당 구간의 경우 시속 130-150 km/h 대역 내 열차가 양방향으로 운행함에 따라 철도 운행과 터널 내부온도의 상관관계를 검토하고자 열차주행시 내부온도의 변화 및 지속시간 등의 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 터널 내부온도는 주로 외기온도와 터널 지표면간의 차이로 발생하며, 열차로 인한 내부온도 변화는 30분 내외로 회복되는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 동결범위 산정시 열차주행간격이 30분 내외인 터널구간에서는 열차 주행에 대한 영향요인은 배제하여도 무관할 것으로 판단된다. The freezing water around the tunnel lining, which is caused by the external temperature during winter, damages portions of tunnel structures, such as the lining and concrete slab track. To investigate the influence of freezing temperature, a total of 50 temperature gauges were installed from the tunnel entrance to 3,270 m. The total length of the tunnel was 8,293 m. The variation in temperature along the tunnel was measured during winter. The correlation between the variation in temperature and the influence of train operation at a speed of 130-150 km/h was analyzed. The duration of the increasing freezing temperature range influenced by train operation was also analyzed and displayed in the results. The results demonstrated that the variation in temperature according to the train operation could be recovered in 30 min. Therefore, when considering the freezing range of a tunnel where trains are travelling at intervals of approximately 30 min, it was judged that the influence factor will be negligible owing to the train operation.

A fast algorithm for removing blocking artifacts in DCT coded images is proposed. In conventional algorithms, reconstructed images are deteriorated by blurring or having heavy computational complexity. For these reasons, in this paper an edge directional space-variant low pass filtering algorithm is proposed to reduce image blurring and computational complexity. For the directional edge block classification, Gersho's block classification algorithm is modified by applying in edge directions. That is, a 2D LPF is used for the monotone block and a ID directional LPF is applied parallelly to the direction of edge blocks, respectively. This approach can remove blocking artifacts preventing image blurring efficiently, since the blocking artifacts are caused by pixel discontinuities in block boundary, thus the low pass filtering only on the boundary of blocks prevents the inner block blurring.

This paper discusses the design and implementation of context-aware sensor tags that can be attached to various containers. The tags are designed to be utilizable in non-standardized fruit boxes, and can identify whether fruit has been loaded in a box because they are attached inside the box. After recognizing normal load status, data are sent only when there is content. The tags were designed and implemented to measure distribution by detecting the movement of the fruit box, and sending data through a context-aware function that determines whether fruit is loaded, and a data-transmission event; the tags also send data periodically, even when the fruit box is not moved

<P>Intelligent gateway systems have evolved to seamlessly offer location-aware and multimedia services, allowing multi users to roam among multi service domains. In the past decade intelligent gateways have been implemented to support context-aware multimedia services with network convergence and service reasoning mechanisms in multi domains. However, recent researches have to consider multiple events and service management according to the user's movements and requirements. Therefore, we propose a Portable Intelligent Gateway System (PIGS) to offer seamless device-independent multimedia services and location-aware push services. Using heterogeneous network convergence and utilizing cooperation between other gateways, the PIGS interconnects users (user devices) who want to be offered multimedia services and Service Providers (SPs). Furthermore, our system dynamically offers differential services to multiple users with respect to the user, device and location characteristics. The PIGS also collects events using embedded sensors and generates events used for service configuration along with service predictions by using light-weight middleware. In this paper we implement real testbed, a house and a car, and verify the effectiveness of the service reconfiguration. The portable gateway structure using the PIGS achieves a 22% faster service response time in comparison to a fixed gateway-based structure.</P>
