합병증이 동반된 Meckel씨 게실을 가진 환자의 치료에 대한 필요성은 과정이 문제이다. 하지만 우연히 만나는 게실의 처치는 논란 중이다. 부수적인 게실 절제술(incidental diverticulectomy)의 제안자는 증상이 있는 게실의 외과적 처치는 중요한 이환 및 사망률은 지적한다. 이를 반대하는 사람들은 전 생애를 통해 합병증의 위험성이 낮게 나타나므로 필요가 없다고한다. 게실의 예방적 제거는 개복술시 우연히 발견 될 때 시행한다. 이는 남아있는 게실이 나중에 합병증을 일으키는 것보다 술후 합병증의 위험성이 매우 적음을 알 수 있다. 저자들은 합병증이 동반된 Meckel씨 게실 2예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 더불어 보고하는 바이다. The necessity for therapy with complicated Meckel's diverticular is a matter of course.However, management of the incidentally encountered diverticulum is controversial. Proponents of incidental diverticulectomy point to the significant morbidity and mortality rates of surgical treatment of symptomatic divenicular. Other authors base their opposition to incidental diveniculectomy on the low risk of complications developing during lifetime. Prophyillctic removal of the diveniculum is indicated when it is found incidentally at laparotomy, because there are few postoperative complications and the risk exists that the remaining diverticulum may be the cause of later complication. The 2 cases of complicated Meckel's diverticulum are reported with a brief review of literature.
Transcriptional Activities of Two Different forms of Human TFIIS

Transcription Factor IIS(TFIIS) exerts influence on the transcript elongation by RNA polymerase II. Two different cDNA clones of human TFIIS have been found. If we compare the amino acid sequence in the coding region of these two clones, we can find one of the cDNA clone carry extra 21 amino acids at the N-terminal region of TFIIS. To identify the functional role of these additional amino acid sequence, we have expressed and purified two different forms of TFIIS in E. coli. The results of the comparison between these two proteins in the transcription elongation activities indicate that 21 amino acid sequence is not crucial for the function of TFIIS in our in vitro assay system. But we cannot rule out the possibility of their functional role(s) in vivo.

1. Large scale preparation of Stu I endonuclease One million units of homogeneous Stu I endonuclease have been isolated from 100g (wet weight) of Streptomyces tubercidicus cells. For the purification of this enzyme, DEAE-Sephadex (A-50), QAE-Sephadex (A-50) and Heparin-Agarose column chromatography have been performed after ammonium sulfate fractionation of the crude extract. The subunit molecular weight was 34,000 dalton as judged by 10% SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Stu I endonuclease requires Mg^(2+) for its activity and shows maximum activity at pH 7.0-8.0 in the absence of NaCl. 2. Zan I endonuclease: An Isoschizomer of Eco RII and Bst NI endonuclease A new sequence specific endonuclease, Zan I endonuclease, from Zymomonas anaerobia has been purified to homogeneity. The subunit molecular weight was 31,000 dalton as judged by 10% SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The endonucleolytic cleavage products of various DNA substrates showed that Zan I endonuclease is an isoschizomer of Bst NI and Eco RII endonucleases. The conditions for the maximum activity of this enzyme were determined which is different from those of Bst NI and Eco RII endonuclease. 3. DNA protection by Alu I, Hpa II and Hha I Methylases Hexameric restriction endonucleases can be inhibited by the methylation on the internal tetrameric sequences. The degree of inhibitions by Alu I, Hpa II and Hha I methylases allow us to predict the specificities of various hexameric restriction methylases which have never been isolated. On the other hand, the results could be the important informations for the cDNA cloning experiments using restriction linker DNAs.

Monoclonal antibodies against human acid stable trypsin inhibitor (ASTI) was produced by hybridizing SP2/0-Ag14 mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells of Balb/c mouse immunized with ASTI. Western blotting analysis using purified ASTI and urinary proteins exhibited the specificity of the antibodies agains ASTI. The distribution and localization of ASTI in adenocarcinoma of stomach were examined using immunohistochemical techniques. ASTI immunoreactivity was detected from the tubular adenocarcinoma, but not from the signet ring cell carcinoma or mucinous adenocarcinoma.

The simultaneous occurrence of renovascular hypertension and an aldosterone-producing adrenal adenoma is a rare entity. Here, we report the case of a 52-year-old female who had a coexisting aldosterone-producing adrenal adenoma and ipsilateral renal artery stenosis. She was diagnosed with the aldosterone-producing adrenal adenoma and then underwent a laparoscopic left adrenalectomy. Her blood pressure was uncontrolled after the adrenalectomy. Selective renal angiography showed left renal artery stenosis; thus, she underwent balloon angioplasty at the same sitting. Subsequently, her blood pressure returned to normal after administration of a single antihypertensive drug. This case suggests that it is important to recognize the possible coexistence of renal artery stenosis in a patient with an aldosterone-producing adrenal adenoma. (Korean J Med 2015;89:97-101)
데이터 중심 저장 환경에서 소실 데이터 보정 기법을 이용한 인-네트워크 질의 처리

센서 네트워크에서 발생하는 데이터를 저장하고, 효율적으로 질의를 처리하는 기법에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 대표적인 연구로 데이터 중심 저장 기법이 있다. 데이터 중심 저장 기법의 경우 질의를 효과적으로 처리하기 위해 수집한 데이터 값에 따라 저장 될 센서 노드를 지정하고, 질의 처리를 위해 질의에 해당하는 데이터를 저장하는 노드에서만 데이터를 수집한다. 하지만 노드의 결함이 발생하면 결함 노드에 저장 되어 있는 전체 데이터가 소실 됨에 따라 질의 결과 정확도가 저하 되는 문제점이 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 데이터 중심 저장 기법에서 노드 결함에 따른 데이터 소실이 발생하여도 높은 정확도를 보이는 인-네트워크 질의 처리 기법을 제안한다. 데이터 소실이 발생 하였을 경우 선형 회귀 분석 기법을 이용하여 소실 된 영역에 해당하는 보정 모델을 생성하고, 이를 통해 가상의 데이터를 포함한 질의 결과를 반환한다. 제안하는 기법의 우수성을 보이기 위해 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 데이터 중심 저장 기법과 성능을 비교하였으며, 그 결과 평균 98% 이상의 질의 결과 정확도를 보였고, 질의 처리 시 기존 기법에 비교하여 약 80% 이상의 에너지 소모를 감소 시켰다.
Two Cases of Thrombus Resolution Unrelated to Large Artery Atherosclerosis or Alteplase Use

Thrombus resolution is generally associated with a favorable prognosis. Patients with thrombus resolution often present with erythrocyte-rich thrombi, frequently associated with large artery atherosclerosis or alteplase use. This might explain the increased rate of cervical carotid artery occlusion and reduced incidence of atrial fibrillation in patients with thrombus resolution. However, recent reports have demonstrated that thrombus resolution can occur owing to several etiologies and various factors. We present two cases of thrombus resolution: one associated with internal carotid artery dissection and the other with a left atrial appendage thrombus. Notably, both were considered to be unrelated to large-artery atherosclerosis or alteplase use.
Monoclonal Antibody CFC - 6 , which Binds to Helix Ⅱ , Inhibits Erythropoietin - Induced Bioactivity

It was discovered that monoclonal anti -erythropoietin (EPO) antibody CFC-6 can neutralize EPO-induced cell activation. To know the binding site of CFC-6, recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) was digested with Glu-C. followed by a separation using high performance liquid chromato graphy (HPLC). Each HPLC fraction was blotted on the nitrocellulose membrane and the membrane was treated with anti-EPO antibody CFC-6 and anti-mouse antibody which is modified with peroxidase. Only one spot showed the color and the fraction was sequenced by Edman degradation. The results suggest that CFC-6 recognizes amino acid sequence V63-W-Q-G-L-A-L-L-S-E72 which is a part of helix II of the EPO molecule. Binding of CFC-6 to EPO may inhibit EPO binding to its receptor. which implies that the antibody binding site and the receptor binding site are close or overlapping.
