        In this paper, we mention the implementation and the experiments of a magnetic properties measurement system about amorphous wire in weak magnetic field. By adding an op-amp of high magnification to a traditional properties measurement system the measurement system fully operates the functions in the weak magnetic field less than 0.1[Oe].       • Nd를 첨가한 Sr페라이트 플라스틱자석

        In this dissertation, we have studied on the fabrication of Sr ferrite plastic magnet with additional Nd. First, we selected SrO5.9F₂O₃of nonstoichimatric composition as the basic composition of specimen ferrite since its magnetic property was excellent. Then, we added Nd to the specimen. In order to control the properties of the particles on fabrication of magnetic powder, 0.3wt% CaCO₃, 0.2wt% SiO₂, 0.twt% Al₂O₃and 0.5wt% Na₂SiO₃were added. For carbon coating ont he compound specimen, 5wt% polyvinylalchohol was added and then the compound specimen was calcinated under N₂environment at 1,225 ℃. After performaing grinding process for 18 hours, we obtained 1.0~1.2㎛ size of single domain magnetic powder. We added 1 wt% silane coupling and 1 wt% calcium stearate to the Sr ferrite powder with additional Nd, and then mixed them well. Next, we pelleted them after kneading them, using polyamide12 as a binder. The pelleted specimen was injection-moulded using anisotropic mould under magnetic field of 12kOe. As the results of property tests for the fabricated specimen magnet, we find that the fabricated magnet has the following excellent peroperties at Nd 12.5wt%: bHc=2.84kOe, Br=3.23kG and (BH)max=2.49MGOe.

      • 生長肥肉豚에 對한 動物性油脂의 效果 : II.品種別,性別(雌豚,去勢壯豚)의 差異

        This experiment was carried out to determine the effectiveness and productivity of feed grade animal fats(FGAF) supplemented high energy ration as compared to prevailing Korean swine ration. The items checked included 1) daily gain, 2) feed intake and its efficiency, and carcass characteristics. Fifty four heads of barrow and gilt Yorkshire, Landrace and Hampshire were alloted to three groups: control (no FGAF added), 2% lot (2% FGAF added) and 4%(4%FGAF added). This trial lasted for 100 days, covering both growing and finishing periods in the National Livestock Breeding Station. The results of feeding trial and carcass evaluation are recorded in tables 4 to 12. The following is a summary of the results obtained. a) There were no signigicant gain in body weight during growing period, but highly significant differences among groups, sexes, and breeds during overall period. (P<0.01) b) In daily gain there were highly significant differences among the groups during the finishing and overall periods (p<0.01) and the Yorkshire breed showed a significant difference in the finishing period (p<0.05) and a highly significant difference during the overall period (P<0.01). Barrows showed highly significant differences during the finishing and overall periods (P<0.01). c) Feed intake was not significantly affected among groups, but the Yorkshire breed took more feed. Feed efficiency was better in 4% group than other groups (P<0.05). d) The days to reach market weight was no differences significant among groups, but barrow were better than gilt (p<0.01). e) The carcass evaluation was conducted on only twenty seven barrow. There were, generally, no significant differences among groups, except Hanpshire being better in dressing percentages (P<0.05). low in backfat thickness (P<0.01). f) Prices for feed and pork are very unstable in Korea. What is profitable at one time may not be five month or even several weeks late. Because the pork price and feedstuff situation in Korea are so unpredicable, this report mainly presents performance and carcass evaluation data, which can later be use for economic evaluations of the use of FGAF showing only case study in Korean hog ration.

        한국인에서 Quadruplex PCR을 이용한 8종류 상염색체 STR 유전좌의 다형성 분석

        Two quadruplex PCR reactions were designed for 7 tetrameric (D3S2406, D4S2368, D5S818, D7S821, D9S925, D13S317, D19S253) and one trimeric (D6S1043) short tandem repeats loci to study the allele frequency and the applicability of genetic variation in these loci in forensic case works. For 310 unrelated Koreans DNA was isolated from peripheral blood using phenol/chloroform method. Quadruplex I was consisted of D4S2368, D6S1043, D7S821, D9S925 and quadruplex II D3S2406, D5S818, D13S317, D19S253. The amplified products were analyzed by 5% polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis followed by silver staining. The heterozygosity in each loci ranged 92.91-66.13%, and PD(Power of Discrimination) was above 085 in each loci. Every loci except D6S1043 followed hardy-Weinberg expectation. The cumulative PI was low as 1.65×10-10. Two mutations were noted, one in D19S253 and the other in D9S925 among 234 gametes. With these results above eight STR loci studied here preyed to be highly polymorphic enough to be used in forensic field. This study provides valuable population data in these loci for Korean.

        한국인에서 DXS7132 유전좌와 GATA31D10 유전좌의 다형성에 관한 연구

        The validation study for two STR loci on X-chromosome, DXS7132 and GATA31D10, was done including allelic distribution and frequency of each allele to use these results for individual identification and paternity testing. For 496 unrelated Koreans, above two STR loci were amplified simultaneously using duplex PCR amplification method. The amplified products were analyzed by polyarylamide gel electrophoresis followed by silver staining. In male DXS7132 locus revealed 7 different alleles ranging from 276bp to 300bp. The largest allele was consisted of 14 repetition of [TCTA] unit and took 0.3417. The allele 15 followed next as 0.3165 and allele 13 as 0.1726. In female general distribution was same except one allele, allele 18 was found additionally. The heterozygosity was 0.7706 and 23 different genotypes were found. Polymorphism information content(PIC) was 0.727. Two cases of mutation were noted in DXS7132 locus In both male and femal 7 different alleles were noted in GATA31D10 locus and the alleles ranged from 195bp to 231bp. The allele 15(199bp) took the majority of all as 0.825. The other alleles showed rather relatively low frequency. The heterozygosity was 0.2385 and 11 different genotypes were found. PIC was 0.2521, and no mutation was noted in GATA31D10 locus. Considering these two loci together, 22 different halpotype were noted.

        This thesis deals with the fabrication of 4 poles anisotropic Sr ferrite plastic magnets. After Polyamide6 and polyamide12 are kneaded respectively with Sr ferrite powder, silane coupling and calcium stearate of lwt% are added for coating and pelleting. The pelleted specimen injection-moulded under magnetic field using 4 poles mould. In the case of using polyamide6 as a binder, for 4 poles anisotropic Sr ferrite plastic magnets the surface magnetic flux density distribution is +943.8∼-943.8kG and the deviation is 5.2%, polyamide12, the distribution is +1040.9∼-1040.9KG and the deviation is 5.4%.The magnet distribution shows stability. As the results of experiments, we find 4 poles anistropic Sr ferrite plastic magnets have properties as the materials appropriate for manufacturing magnet type synchronous motors.

        Effect of Molybdenum on the Corrosion of Low Alloy Steels in Synthetic Seawater

        <P>'The alloying effect of Mo on the seawater immersion corrosion for low alloy steel was investigated using weight loss tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in seawater. The Mo-containing low alloy steel showed an excellent corrosion resistance by the long immersion test due to the-formation of homogeneous rust layer preventing active dissolution. SEM and XPS analyses were conducted to observe cross-sectional images of rust layer and indentify chemical composition of oxide formed on the surface after immersion test. The results revealed that the MoO42- ions which were oxidized from Mo form the compounds which disturb the approach of aggressive ions.</P>

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Embryonic stem (ES) cells, derived from the inner cell mass of the mammalian blastocyst, can continuously proliferate in an undifferentiated state and can also be induced to differentiate into a desired cell lineage. These abilities make ES cells an appealing source for cell replacement therapies, the study of developmental biology, and drug/toxin screening studies. As compared to mouse ES cells, human ES cells have only recently been derived and studied. Although there are many differences in properties between mouse and human ES cells, the study of mouse ES cells has provided important insights into human ES cell research. In this review, we describe the advantages and disadvantages of methods used for human ES cell derivation, the expansion of human ES cells, and the current status of human ES cell differentiation research. In addition, we discuss the endeavor that scientists have undertaken toward the therapeutic application of these cells, which includes therapeutic cloning and the improvement of human ES cell culture conditions.</P>
