Duodenal diverticula are first reported by Chomel in 1710. Duodenal diverticula are relatively common in adults with a prevalence of 23% in SRCP. The most duodenal diverticulum is asymptomatic. Complications such as obstruction, cholangitis, blliary stones, ulceration, perforation and hemorrhage can occur in approximately 10%. However, relatively few cases of bleeding from a duodenal diverticulum have been reported. The cause of bleeding from a duodenal diverticulum is uncertain and various suspected etiologies were suggested, such as ectopic gastric mucosa, stasis-induced ulceration, erosion into major vessels, aortoenteric fistuias, intradiverticujar polyp, aspirin-induced erosion. We report a case of a bleeding duodenal diverticulum by a Dieulafoy-like lesion and suggest this 1esion as one of posslble causes of blee4ng in duodenal diverticulum.
Oil Contents and Fatty Acid Composition of Korean Perilla (Perilla ocimoides L.) Collections

This study was carried out to obtain informations on the variations of oil content and fatty acid composition among 90 Korean perilla collections. Average oil content of 90 perilla collections was 44.2% with a range from 29.7% to 61.9%. Perilla collections with late-maturing, super-large seed and gray seed coat showed higher oil content than other types in general. Average saturated fatty acid content in perilla oil was 9.0% with a range from 8.2% to 10.7%, while average unsaturated fatty acid content varied from 89.3% to 91.8% with a mean of 91.0%. Contents of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids were not related to maturity. There were no differences in the contents of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids according to maturity. Linoleic acid and linolenic acid contents were the highest in the super large-sized group(15.5%) and in the large-sized seed group(61.4%), respectively, while contents of fatty acids among the perilla collections were variable with different seed coat colors. Most of the traits studied were not significantly correlated with oil content, but linoleic acid($\omega$ 수식 이미지-6) content was negatively correlated (r=-0.217*) with linolenic acid(ω-3) content.

<P>Near-infrared spectroscopy and multivariate analysis techniques were employed to nondestructively evaluate the rancidity of perilla seed oil by developing prediction models for the acid and peroxide values. The acid, peroxide value, and transmittance spectra of perilla seed oil stored in two different environments for 96 and 144 h were obtained and used to develop prediction models for different storage conditions and time periods. Preprocessing methods were applied to the transmittance spectra of perilla seed oil, and multivariate analysis techniques, such as principal component regression (PCR), partial least squares regression (PLSR), and artificial neural network (ANN) modeling, were employed to develop the models. Titration analysis shows that the free fatty acids in an oil oxidation process were more affected by relative humidity than temperature, whereas peroxides in an oil oxidation process were more significantly affected by temperature than relative humidity for the two different environments in this study. Also, the prediction results of ANN models for both acid and peroxide values were the highest among the developed models. These results suggest that the proposed near-infrared spectroscopy technique with multivariate analysis can be used for the nondestructive evaluation of the rancidity of perilla seed oil, especially the acid and peroxide values.</P>
