Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between teaching effectiveness and clinical practice satisfaction among nursing students. Method: The subjects of this study were 107 junior and senior nursing students in E university. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaire including general and practicum related characteristics, teaching effectiveness of clinical instructors and clinical practice satisfaction from September 12 to September 21, 2011. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS 19 program using t-test, ANOVA with Scheffe test, and Pearson`s correlation coefficients. Result: The mean score of teaching effectiveness was 3.35(±.51), and mean of clinical practice satisfaction was 3.19±.47. There were significant differences of teaching effectiveness of clinical instrutor by satisfaction of overall clinical practicum(F=8.332, p<.001), satisfaction of practice hour(F=3.230, p=.044), and satisfaction of major(F=9.883, p<.001). There were significant differences of clinical practice satisfaction by grade(t=2.274, p=.025), motive of choosing nursing science as a major(F=3.329, p=.007), satisfaction of overall clinical practicum(F=17.437, p<.001), satisfaction of practice hours(F=9.925, p<.001), and satisfaction of nursing major(F=12.748, p<.001). Relationship between teaching effectiveness of clinical instructor and clinical practice satisfaction showed positive correlation(r=.704, p<.001). Conclusion: In this study, teaching effectiveness of clinical instructor was related with clinical practice satisfaction. Therefore, we should consider improving teaching effectiveness of clinical instructor to improve clinical practice satisfaction.

Diesel engines which emit a lot of PM and NOx have been known as a main air polluter. Especially, diesel particulate matters (DPM) including black smoke are hazardous air pollutants to human health and environment. The nations retaining advanced engine technologies have reinforced emission regulations. To meet these regulations diesel engine manufacturers have developed low-emission diesel engines, aftertreatment equipments, alternative fuel technologies and so on. In this study, particle number concentrations characteristics according to particle size and engine driving conditions were analyzed when these low-emission technologies were applied. There was a tendency of increasing particle number concentrations from heavy-duty diesel engines with increasing engine rpm and load rate. In the cases of CDPF (Catalytic Diesel Particulate Filter), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) engine and ULSD (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel) more than 99% of particle number concentration were removed.
Effect of Indirubin on Morphology Changes and mRNA Expression of Cytokines in LPS-induced RAW264.7

This study was conducted to investigate the regulatory effect of Indirubin on LPS-induced inflammation in macrophage. The morphologic changes were shown as widened cytoplasm or biased nucleus from the center of the cell when LPS activated macrophage. The changes in inflammation activity were also estimated with mRNA levels of cytokines under time elapse at 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24 hours after the 10 ng/mL LPS treatment. By measuring those proinflammatory (TNF-α, IL-1β) and anti-inflammatory (IL-10) cytokines at each time set, the relationship between morphologic change and inflammation activity was compared. The highest pro-inflammatory mRNA expression was observed at 2 hours after the LPS treatment, and this was inhibited by those Indirubin standard (Indirubin) and Chungdae extract (CDEX). The mRNA expression level in LPS treated cell was markedly reduced at 8 hours as well as the other groups. However, IL-10, the anti-inflammatory cytokines was not affected by those treatments. The results suggested that the level of inflammation related changes as time elapsed. The current observation that both Indirubin and CDEX are able to inhibit LPS-induced inflammation by reducing the production of inflammatory cytokines. Moreover, the current observation suggested that estimating anti-inflammatory effects should include time-dependent measurements as biomarkers.
Stille Polycondensation of Conjugated Polymers in Flow

Molecular weight of conjugated polymer is a critical factor that determines material properties and device performances. To avoid batch-to-batch variations of molecular weight in conventional batch reactor, we developed a flow synthesis system that can perform step-growth Stille polycondensation in a reproducible manner. By utilizing nitrogen gas as a carrier, our flow system provides uniform and precisely controlled reaction conditions without a common head and tail diffusion problem in other flow systems. We conducted Stille polycondensations to synthesize various donor (D)-acceptor (A) type conjugated polymers and monitored the polymerization process over the residence time. As an example, a representative conjugated polymer PTB7 was synthesize with a high average molecular weight (Mn) of 34.2 kDa and D of 1.93 in only 3 min with high reproducibility (3.1 % errors for Mn between runs).

Microbacterium elymi KUDC0405T was isolated from the rhizosphere of Elymus tsukushiensis from the Dokdo Islands. The KUDC0405T strain was Gram-stain-positive, non-spore forming, non-motile, and facultatively anaerobic bacteria. Strain KUDC0405T was a rod-shaped bacterium with size dimensions of 0.3–0.4 × 0.7–0.8 μm. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequences, KUDC0405T was most closely related to Microbacterium bovistercoris NEAU-LLET (97.8%) and Microbacterium pseudoresistens CC-5209T (97.6%). The dDDH (digital DNA-DNA hybridization) values between KUDC0405T and M. bovistercoris NEAU-LLET and M. pseudoresistens CC-5209T were below 17.3% and 17.5%, respectively. The ANI (average nucleotide identity) values among strains KUDC0405T , M. bovistercoris NEAU-LLET , and M. pseudoresistens CC-5209T were 86.6% and 80.7%, respectively. The AAI (average amino acid identity) values were 64.66% and 64.97%, respectively, between KUDC0405T and its closest related type strains. The genome contained 3,596 CDCs, three rRNAs, 46 tRNAs, and three non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs). The genomic DNA GC content was 70.4%. The polar lipids included diphosphatydilglycerol, glycolipid, phosphatydilglycerol, and unknown phospholipid, and the major fatty acids were anteiso-C17:0 and iso-C16:0. Strain KUDC0405T contained MK-12 as the major menaquinone. Based on genotypic, phylogenetic, and phenotypic properties, strain KUDC0405T should be considered a novel species within the genus Microbacterium, for which we propose the name M. elymi sp. nov., and the type strain as KUDC0405T (=KCTC 49411T , =CGMCC1.18472T ).
