        Correlations Between Fasciology and Yin Yang Doctrine

        The aim of this study is to explore the correlations between fasciology and yin yang doctrine. Professor Yuan developed fasciology by three-dimensional reconstruction of connective tissue (fascia) in the trunk and limbs of the human body and tracing back to tissue origins in light of biological evolution and developmental biology. Fasciology states that the human body can be divided into two systems: the supporting-storing system and the functional system. This article elaborates on the roles of the two systems and their mutual relationship. The two systems are used to analyze the yin,the yang, and their relationship. The two systems are promoted but also restricted in different contexts. The supporting-storing system is formed by undifferentiated connective tissue and provides undifferentiated cells and nutrients for differentiated cells of the functional system. Thus, the supporting-storing system could be classified as quiet, similar to yin. The functional system continuously maintains the various functional activities of the human body. Thus, the functional system could be classified as active, similar to yang. In interpreting the yin yang doctrine from the point of view of fasciology, yin can be compared with the supporting-storing system and yang can be compared with the functional system.

        Construction of High Strain Rate Loading Constitutive Model and Failure Model and Prediction of Forming Limit for LA103Z Magnesium Alloy

        In order to use numerical simulation to reveal the formability of magnesium–lithium alloys and other light alloys under highstrain rate, it is crucial to construct a constitutive model and a forming limit diagram (FLD) of LA103Z alloy that was formedby laser shock at high strain rate. In this study, three different uniaxial tensile experiments on the ultralight alloy materialLA103Z magnesium alloy were conducted, the mechanical behavior of the material with sensitivity to high strain rate wasstudied, and a Johnson–Cook (JC) constitutive model sensitive to high strain rates and suitable for laser shock forming wasproposed. At the same time, the constitutive parameters and failure parameters of the modified JC model of LA103Z magnesiumalloy were obtained through three different uniaxial tensile experiments. On the basis of the relationship betweentensile loading and stress–strain of LA103Z magnesium alloy, the experiments demonstrated the precision of the modified JCconstitutive model. A modified constitutive model was then developed by using the user material subroutine VUMAT, andthen it was applied to ABAQUS. Finally, the formability of the material was simulated, and the FLD of LA103Z magnesiumalloy material in laser shock forming was predicted. This study provides guidance on the actual production and applicationof LA103Z magnesium alloys.

      • On the historicity of the development and evolution of the concept of globalization

        Globalization is a world-class phenomenon, and it is the cross-border and cultural spread of factors such as the production of products, the application of technology, the dissemination of information, and jobs among different countries. Globalization is a widespread phenomenon that includes economic, political, social, cultural and legal factors. From the economic point of view, globalization explains the free trade in which different countries are interdependent through various forms. From the political point of view, the evolution of globalization is developing towards the structure of intergovernmental organizations, such as the WTO and the United Nations. From the social and cultural point of view, globalization makes the interaction and cultural exchange among ethnic groups closer. Globalization also represents the exchange and collision of cultural concepts, thoughts and artistic expressions among different regions. In addition, there is a general trend of globalization towards a single world culture. From the perspective of law, globalization has adjusted the construction and implementation of international law. In the author's opinion, globalization is not a new concept in recent decades. In ancient human society a long time ago, there were merchants who traveled long distances to another country and region, taking their hometown specialties for sale, or bringing overseas specialty products back to their hometown for sale. With the development of industrial revolution, it created a great leap in the development of transportation and communication means for human society in the 19th century, and also greatly reduced the difficulty of cross-border trade. Through a brief analysis of the historical evolution of economic globalization, political globalization and social and cultural globalization, this paper shows that globalization is the result of historical development in recent centuries, rather than a fresh product in recent decades.

        Breviscapine Ameliorates Fear Extinction and Anxiety in BALB/cJ Mice

        Objective In this research, the influence of breviscapine on anxiety, fear elimination, and aggression and the potential mechanism was investigated. Methods Anxiety and locomotion were analyzed by elevated plus maze and open field test in mice. Bussey-Saksida Mouse Touch Screen Chambers were used to perform fear conditioning. Territorial aggression was assessed by resident intruder test. Protein levels were evaluated by Western blot. Breviscapine improved fear-extinction learning in BALB/cJ mice. Results Breviscapine at 20-100 mg/kg increased center cross number, total distance traveled, and velocity in a dose-dependent manner. On the other hand, breviscapine at 20-100 mg/kg decreased the immobility time in open field test. In addition, breviscapine at 20-100 mg/kg increased the ratio of time on the open arm, time on the distal parts of the open arm, and total distance traveled in elevated plus maze. Breviscapine at 100 mg/kg increased the average attack latency and decreased the number of attacks over the last 3 days of resident intruder test. In hippocampus, protein levels of postsynaptic density protein-95 and synaptophysin were elevated by breviscapine at these three doses. Conclusion The administration of breviscapine alleviates fear extinction, anxiety, and aggression, while increases locomotor in a dose-dependent manner, which might be associated with its influence on synaptic function.

        Joint Optimization for Residual Energy Maximization in Wireless Powered Mobile-Edge Computing Systems

        Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) and Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) are both recognized as promising techniques, one is for solving the resource insufficient of mobile devices and the other is for powering the mobile device. Naturally, by integrating the two techniques, task will be capable of being executed by the harvested energy which makes it possible that less intrinsic energy consumption for task execution. However, this innovative integration is facing several challenges inevitably. In this paper, we aim at prolonging the battery life of mobile device for which we need to maximize the harvested energy and minimize the consumed energy simultaneously, which is formulated as residual energy maximization (REM) problem where the offloading ratio, energy harvesting time, CPU frequency and transmission power of mobile device are all considered as key factors. To this end, we jointly optimize the offloading ratio, energy harvesting time, CPU frequency and transmission power of mobile device to solve the REM problem. Furthermore, we propose an efficient convex optimization and sequential unconstrained minimization technique based combining method to solve the formulated multi-constrained nonlinear optimization problem. The result shows that our joint optimization outperforms the single optimization on REM problem. Besides, the proposed algorithm is more efficiency.

        Effect of stacking conditions on performance of a centrifugal pump

        In this study, the effect of stacking condition of centrifugal pump impeller was investigated by Computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The performance curves of impellers with three different stacking conditions were compared. The Local Euler head distributions (LEH distribution) at blade Leading edge (LE) and Trailing edge (TE) were obtained to evaluate the contribution of different spanwise location to the total work. The positive stacking characterised by the hub leading the shroud was considered inappropriate in centrifugal pump impellers as it deteriorated the performance of the pump in whole flow rate range. The negative stacking characterised by the shroud leading the hub could improve flow stability and efficiency in low flow rates, it was manufactured and tested. The test results showed good agreement with CFD calculations. A hump zone was observed in zero stacking impeller between 0.9Q d and Q d . It was closely related to the drastic change in pattern of LEH distribution at the two flow rates. The internal flow was analyzed to reveal the reasons responsible for the hump in head curve. It is found that the tremendous extension of low streamwise velocity region and its instant movement from the corner of shroud and blade suction surface to the midspan near blade suction surface when the flow rate decreases from Q dto 0.9Q d is the main reason for flow instability in zero stacking impeller.

        A Lifetime-Balancing MAC Protocol under the End-to-End Delay Requirement

        This article presents lifetime-balancing medium accesscontrol (LB-MAC), a new medium access control (MAC) protocolwith embedded adaptivity for asynchronous, duty cycle sensornetworks. Different from existing sensor network MAC protocolsthat usually focus on reducing energy consumption and extendinglifetime of individual sensor nodes, LB-MAC aims at prolongingthe network lifetime under a certain end-to-end delay requirement. It achieves this goal by dynamically tuning a comprehensiveset ofMAC parameters. LB-MAC is a distributed, lightweight,and scalable solution, as the required control information is onlyexchanged locally between neighbors. LB-MAC has been implementedin TinyOS and evaluated on a sensor network testbed withextensive experiments. Results show that LB-MAC is able to yielda significantly longer network lifetime than state-of-the-art MACprotocols such as X-MAC, RI-MAC, and SEESAW, while meetingthe end-to-end delay requirement, andmaintaining comparablelevels of data delivery ratio and average nodal power consumption.

        Insights into chlorantraniliprole resistance of Chilo suppressalis: Expression profiles of ATP-binding cassette transporter genes in strains ranging from low- to high-level resistance

        The ATP-binding cassette (ABC) proteins are involved in trans-cellular transport of substances at inverse con centrations. After ABC genes were discovered to be involved in multidrug resistance in humans, increased attention was paid to the role of insect ABC genes in pesticide resistance. Chilo suppressalis, the most important Lepidopteran pest in rice production, has developed resistance to the insecticide chlorantraniliprole. However, few of the ABC genes that contribute to chlorantraniliprole resistance have been studied. Here, 47 genes encoding ABC transporters were identified, including five CsABCA, seven CsABCB, ten CsABCC, two CsABCD, one CsABCE, three CsABCF, 15 CsABCG, and four CsABCH genes. The expression profiles of these transporter genes were determined in three chlorantraniliprole-resistant strains: R1, R2, and HR, with a resistance ratio of 38.8, 110.4, and 249.6, respectively. CsABCA1, -D2, and -H2 were up-regulated in all resistant strains, and the trend in the transcript levels of all 47 CsABC genes fitted a descending curve from R1 to HR. Unexpectedly, CsABCF1, -G11 and -G12 were significantly down-regulated in HR. These results provide new insights into the roles of ABC transporters in chlorantraniliprole resistance in C. suppressalis.
