In the new digital age, the emergence of user-generated content enables consumers to enjoy greater freedom and control over their behavior on the internet and assume more active roles in sharing brand-related information with others. This research examines the role of brand engagement on consumer psychological ownership, purchase intention, electronic word of mouth (eWOM), and consumers’ willingness to defend the brand on social media. The findings provide evidence of consumer psychological process to demonstrate that companies can use social media to engage with consumers, so consumers are likely to spread positive WOM and be protective of the brand. It is important for marketing managers to assess the level of brand engagement on social media sites and develop tools and techniques to increase consumers’ participation such as using subliminal priming on brand image, with an aim to create a close consumer brand relationship.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the technical feasibility, efficacy, and safety of the safe triangular working zone (STWZ) approach applied in percutaneous vertebroplasty (PV) for spinal metastases involving the posterior part of the vertebral body. Materials and Methods: We prospectively enrolled 87 patients who underwent PV for spinal metastasis involving the posterior part of the vertebral body, with or without the STWZ approach, from January 2019 to April 2022. Forty-nine patients (27 females and 22 males; mean age ± standard deviation [SD], 57.2 ± 11.6 years; age range, 31–76 years) were included in group A (with STWZ approach), accounting for 54 vertebrae. Thirty-eight patients (18 females and 20 males; 59.1 ± 10.9 years; 29–81 years) were included in group B (without STWZ approach), accounting for 57 vertebrae. Patient demographics, procedure-related variables, and pain relief as assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS) were collected at different time points. Tumor recurrence in the vertebrae after PV was analyzed using Kaplan–Meier curves. Results: The STWZ approach was successful from T1 to L5 without severe complications. Cement filling was satisfactory in 47/54 (87.0%) and 25/57 (43.9%) vertebrae in groups A and B, respectively (p < 0.001). Cement leakage was not significantly different between groups A and B (p = 1.000). Mean VAS score ± SD before and 1 week and 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months after PV were 7.6 ± 1.8, 4.2 ± 2.0, 2.7 ± 1.9, 1.9 ± 1.5, 1.7 ± 1.4, 1.7 ± 1.1, and 1.6 ± 1.3, respectively, in group A and 7.2 ± 1.7, 4.0 ± 1.3, 3.4 ± 1.6, 2.4 ± 1.2, 1.8 ± 1.0, 1.4 ± 0.5, and 1.7 ± 0.9, respectively, in group B. Kaplan–Meier analysis showed a lower tumor recurrence rate in group A than in group B (p = 0.001). Conclusion: The STWZ approach may represent a new, safe, alternative/auxiliary approach to target the posterior part of the vertebral body in the PV for spinal metastases.
Study on Strength Characteristics and Microstructure of Completely Decomposed Migmatitic Granite

Migmatitic granite is the product of mixed lithification and granitization, and completely decomposed migmatitic granite (CDMG) was formed after weathering. The engineering properties of CDMG are complex, and its engineering properties are complex after weathering, and water content has a great influence on the properties of (CDMG). Due to its loose structure and strong heterogeneity, it is difficult to determine its strength characteristics by conventional test methods. In the paper triaxial and micro-CT test were conducted to study the relationship between shear strength and microstructure of CDMG under different water content. The results show that with the increase of water content from 6% to 14%, the internal friction angle decreases from 31.8° to 27.3°, and the cohesion first increases from 76.5 kPa to 94.3 kPa and then decreases to 77.7 kPa. This is because the sliding friction coefficient between coarse particles decreases with the increase of water film thickness on the surface of particles, and the occlusal effect between coarse particles weakens and the displacement adjustment is easier during the triaxial loading process. Under different water content, the shear strength of CDMG is not sensitive to particle structure parameters including particle size, particle morphology and particle arrangement. The particle analysis results of post-test sample show that the crushing proportion of coarse particles increases with the increase of the internal friction angle. The clay minerals produce differential expansion potential with the increase of water content, and the porosity and pore connectivity first decrease and then increase. Cohesion has a linear relationship with porosity and pore connectivity. With the increase of porosity from 23.95% to 26.95%, cohesion decreases linearly by 17%. These results indicate that the internal friction angle of CDMG can be inferred by water content, and the cohesion can be inferred by porosity and pore connectivity obtained by microstructure analysis.
Anti-allergic Effects of Caffeine in an Allergic Rhinitis Mouse Model

Caffeine (1, 3, 7-trimethylxanthine) is one of the most widely consumed pharmacologically active products worldwide. Caffeine exhibits various pharmacological activities in central nervous, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems. Additionally, caffeine exhibited anti-inflammatory effects in lipopolysaccharide-challenged rats. However, to our knowledge, the potential anti-inflammatory activity of caffeine in allergic rhinitis (AR) has not yet been investigated. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to examine the anti-allergic effects of caffeine in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced AR in mice. We showed that caffeine attenuated the nasal symptoms, including rubbing and sneezing. It reduced the thickness of the nasal mucosa and alleviated goblet cell hyperplasia in the nasal mucosa. In addition, caffeine ameliorated the inflammation in the lungs and decreased OVA-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) and IgG1 levels in the serum. It also reduced T helper type 2 (Th2) cytokine (interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-5) levels and elevated Th1 cytokine (IL-12 and IFN-γ) levels in the nasal lavage fluid. Collectively, we suggest that caffeine might have therapeutic effects in AR owing to its anti-inflammatory activities.

The chigger mite Leptotrombidium sialkotense is one of the 6 main vectors of scrub typhus in China. Before present study, L. sialkotense was found in some parts of Hunan province, China with a narrow geographical distribution. During field investigation 2016-2017, we found L. sialkotense in Jingha, southern Yunnan, China. Of 15 small mammal host species, L. sialkotense were collected from 6 species of the hosts. Rattus brunneusculus was a dominant host of L. sialkotense, from which 98.3% of the mites were collected. The chigger mite showed a relatively high infestation prevalence (PM=11.7%) and mean abundance (MA=0.5) in comparison with the rest 5 host species. These results reveal a certain host specificity of L. sialkotense to a rat R. brunneusculus. The mite L. sialkotense showed an aggregated distribution on the host (P<0.05). A positive correlation observed between L. sialkotense and the body length of hosts. There was a positive interspecific association between L. sialkotense and 2 other dominant vectors, L. deliense and L. scutellare.

Aim: To establish a pancreatic cancer stem cell model using human pancreatic cancer cells in nude mice to provide a platform for pancreatic cancer stem cell research. Materials and Methods: To establish pancreatic cancer xenografts using human pancreatic cancer cell line SW1990, nude mice were randomly divided into control and gemcitabine groups. When the tumor grew to a volume of $125mm^3$, they treated with gemcitabine at a dose of 50mg/kg by intraperitoneal injection of 0.2ml in the gemcitabine group, while the mice in control group were treated with the same volume of normal saline. Gemcitabine was given 2 times a week for 3 times. When the model was established, the proliferation of pancreatic cancer stem cells was observed by clone formation assay, and the protein and/or mRNA expression of pancreatic stem cell surface markers including CD24, CD44, CD133, ALDH, transcription factors containing Oct-4, Sox-2, Nanog and Gli, the key nuclear transcription factor in Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway was detected by Western blot and/or RT-PCR to verify the reliability of this model. Results: This model is feasible and safe. During the establishment, no mice died and the weight of nude mice maintained above 16.5g. The clone forming ability in gemcitabine group was stronger than that of the control group (p<0.01). In gemcitabine group, the protein expression of pancreatic cancer stem cell surface markers including CD44, and ALDH was up-regulated, the protein and mRNA expression of nuclear transcription factor including Oct-4, Sox-2 and Nanog was also significantly increased (P<0.01). In addition, the protein expression of key nuclear transcription factor in Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway, Gli-1, was significantly enhanced (p<0.01). Conclusions: The pancreatic cancer stem cell model was successfully established using human pancreatic cancer cell line SW1990 in nude mice. Gemcitabine could enrich pancreatic cancer stem cells, simultaneously accompanied by the activation of Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway.
