N2 plasma treatment of pigments with minute particle sizes to improve their dispersion properties in deionized water

        Jingjing Zhang,Yeong-Min Park,Xing Yan Tan,Mun Ki Bae,Dong Jun Kim,Tae Hwan Jang,Min Su Kim,Seung Whan Lee,김태규 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2019 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.20 No.6

Pigments with minute particle sizes, such as carbon black (CB) and pigment red 48:2 (P.R.48:2), are the most important types of pigment and have been widely used in many industrial applications. However, minute particles have large surface areas, high oil absorption and low surface energy. They therefore tend to be repellent to the vehicle and lose stability, resulting in significant increases in viscosity or reaggregation in the vehicle. Therefore, finding the best way to improve the dispersion properties of minute particle size pigments presents a major technical challenge. In this study, minute particle types of CB and P.R.48:2 were treated with nitrogen gas plasma generated via radio frequency-plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (RF-PECVD) to increase the dispersion properties of minute particles in deionized (DI) water. The morphologies and particle sizes of untreated and plasma treated particles were evaluated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The average distributions of particle size were measured using a laser particle sizer. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was carried out on the samples to identify changes in molecular interactions during plasma processing. The results of our analysis indicate that N2 plasma treatment is an effective method for improving the dispersibility of minute particles of pigment in DI water.

Comparative Genomics Uncovers the Genetic Diversity and Synthetic Biology of Secondary Metabolite Production of Trametes

( Yan Zhang ),( Jingjing Wang ),( Chen Yajun ),( Minghui Zhou ),( Wei Wang ),( Ming Geng ),( Decong Xu ),( Zhongdong Xu ) 한국균학회 2020 Mycobiology Vol.48 No.2

The carbohydrate-active enzyme (CAZyme) genes of Trametes contribute to polysaccharide degradation. However, the comprehensive analysis of the composition of CAZymes and the biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) of Trametes remain unclear. Here, we conducted comparative analysis, detected the CAZyme genes, and predicted the BGCs for nine Trametes strains. Among the 82,053 homologous clusters obtained for Trametes, we identified 8518 core genes, 60,441 accessory genes, and 13,094 specific genes. A large proportion of CAZyme genes were cataloged into glycoside hydrolases, glycosyltransferases, and carbohydrate esterases. The predicted BGCs of Trametes were divided into six strategies, and the nine Trametes strains harbored 47.78 BGCs on average. Our study revealed that Trametes exhibits an open pan-genome structure. These findings provide insights into the genetic diversity and explored the synthetic biology of secondary metabolite production for Trametes.

High-fat-diet impaired mitochondrial function of cumulus cells but improved the efficiency of parthenogenetic embryonic quality in mice

        Jingjing Li,Shuang Wang,Bo Wang,Hao Wei,Xin Liu,Jun Hao,Yanping Duan,Jinlian Hua,Xiaomin Zheng,Xiuliang Feng,Xingrong Yan 한국통합생물학회 2018 Animal cells and systems Vol.22 No.4

Global human health has been compromised by high-fat diets. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between a high-fat diet and parthenogenetic embryo quality. Mice fed a high-fat or a normal diet was used as treated or control groups, respectively. Estradiol (E2), total cholesterol (TC) and total triglyceride (TG) were detected by Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA). Cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were collected from the mice in the treated and control groups. The ultrastructure of COCs, the expression level of genes involved in mitochondrial and nuclear functions in cumulus cells and oocytes quality were evaluated with transmission electron microscopy, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and artificial parthenogenesis, respectively. The results showed that the efficiency of parthenogenetic embryonic development in vitro was significantly higher in the treated group than in the control group (p < .05). The expression level of genes involved in mitochondrial function was lower in cumulus cells from the treated group than that from the control group (p < .05). The estradiol and cholesterol level in the serum and the expression level of P450 arom were higher in the treated group than the control group (p < .05). The reactive oxygen species (ROS) level was higher in culumus cells from the treated group than the control group, while the mitochondrial membrane potential was lower in cumulus cells from the treated group (p < .05). Accumulation of lipid droplets was only in cumulus but in oocyte, the results demonstrated that mitochondrial functions were impaired by a high-fat diet, but parthenogenetic embryonic development in vitro was improved, in controllable range of damage for the body.

Facile Preparation of Holey Anderson-type Polyoxometalate/Polyaniline/Graphene Nanocomposites for Supercapacitors

        Jingjing Lin,Song Yan,Xiaojie Zhang,Yueran Liu,Jun Lian,Hualin Lin,Wei Wei,Deli Lu,Sheng Han 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2019 NANO Vol.14 No.4

Holey Fe-Anderson-type polyoxometalate/polyaniline/graphene (PPG) hybrid materials were first prepared by anchoring Anderson-type polyoxometalates [FeMo6O24H6]3- (FeMo6) onto graphene modified with polyaniline via a facile hydrothermal treatment. The as-prepared materials exhibited an excellent electrochemical performance with a high specific capacitance of 1366 F g -1 at 1 A g -1 and outstanding cycling stability (97.6% capacitance retention after 5000 cycle times). The uptake of polyaniline/FeMo6 nanoparticles on graphene not only provided the pseudocapacitance but also weakened the aggregation between the graphene layers, resulting in a higher surface area compared with pure graphene. In addition, the AC//PPG-15 asymmetric supercapacitor device showed a high energy density of 24.65 W h kg -1 at a low power density of 326.25 W kg -1 and good cycling stability (94.82% capacitance retention after 5000 cycles). Hence, the as-prepared PPG hybrid materials in this work possess tremendous potential as electrodes for high-performance supercapacitors.

Effect of a Bacterial Laccase on the Quality and Micro-Structure of Whole Wheat Bread

        Wang Jingjing,Bai Han,Zhang Ran,Ding Guoao,Cai Xuran,Wang Wei,Zhu Guilan,Zhou Peng,Zhang Yan 한국미생물·생명공학회 2023 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.33 No.12

The gluten protein content in whole-wheat flour is low, which affects the elasticity and viscosity of the dough. Enzymatic modification of the protein may result in a network that mimics gluten, which plays an important role in the processing of whole-wheat foods. In this study, the effects of Halomonas alkaliantartica laccase (LacHa) on the quality parameters of whole-wheat bread were investigated. The optimum dosage of LacHa was 4 U/100 g of whole-wheat flour. At this dosage, whole-wheat bread exhibited the best specific volume and optimum texture parameters. Laccase also extended the storage duration of whole-wheat bread. We analyzed the micro-structure of the dough to determine its gluten-free protein extractable rate and free sulfhydryl group content, and verify that LacHa mediates cross-linking of gluten-free proteins. The results demonstrated that the cross-linking of gluten-free protein by LacHa improves the texture of whole-wheat bread. As a flour improver, LacHa has great developmental and application potential in baked-food production.

LAMP, PCR, and real-time PCR detection of Acetobacter aceti in yogurt

        Wei Zhou,Yan Zhang,Shuang Wang,Yuehua Li,Jingjing Zhang,Cuixia Zhang,Zan Wang,Zhisheng Zhang 한국식품과학회 2017 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.26 No.1

Acetic acid bacteria (AAB) can spoil food. Acetobacter aceti as a core subgroup of AAB is usually isolated from yogurt. A. aceti should be timely and effectively detected to prevent yogurt contamination. The present study focused on A. aceti to establish an assay that can be performed to detect AAB in yogurt. LAMP, PCR, and real-time PCR were applied and compared for detecting A. aceti from pure culture and artificially contaminated yogurt samples. In pure culture, LAMP showed the highest detection sensitivity with 10−1 CFU/mL. For yogurt samples, the sensitivity limit of LAMP was 102 CFU/mL, which was lower than that of real-time PCR (101 CFU/mL). The results indicated that these methods could be quickly and efficiently applied to detect A. aceti. As LAMP technology has low cost and high detection efficiency, it can potentially be applied for detecting A. aceti in production and quality control programs of yogurt.

      • Medical Monitoring Model of Internet of Things Based on the Adaptive Threshold Difference Algorithm

Beibei Dong,Jingjing Yang,Yanli Ma,Xiao Zhang 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.11 No.5

There are still problems such as low detection accuracy and poor noise immunity in the application of the standard threshold difference algorithm in the signal detection of electrocardiosignal (ECG), in this paper, a medical monitoring model based on the adaptive threshold difference is proposed. First we use a nonlinear filter to filter the P wave and T wave which are low frequency in ECG signal. Then complex wave QRS will be tested. Then the algorithm will be more accuracy through the detection of the R-R interval length and the adjustment of threshold. Finally, the ECG signal will be test with quadratic spline wavelet twice, and the error judgment will be known through adaptive threshold difference. In the simulation experiments, after judging error by wavelet transformation and making the standard threshold difference algorithm optimize adaptively, algorithm showed excellent detection accuracy with and without noise.

Effect of LiF addition on the sinterability, crystal structure and microwave dielectric properties of Li3Mg4NbO8 ceramics

        Wei Jin,Jingjing Tan,Jiaxin Yan,Yao Tao,Ningning Yao,Xiaomeng Ruan,Cuijin Pei 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2021 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.22 No.6

The normative solid-state reaction process was adopted to prepare Li3Mg4NbO8 ceramics with LiF addition. We investigatedthe impacts of LiF additive on the crystal structure, sinterabillity as well as dielectric performance at microwave region of theLi3Mg4NbO8-basic ceramics. XRD analysis confirmed that the addition of LiF to Li3Mg4NbO8 lead to the formation of newphase Li4Mg4NbO8F with cubic rock salt structure. The densified temperature of Li3Mg4NbO8-basic ceramics could beeffectively reduced from 1150 oC to 900 oC with LiF addition. Both the permitivity (εr) and quality factor (Qf) of presentceramics were is closely correlated with the bulk density and cell volume. The 900 oC-sintered Li3Mg4NbO8-basic ceramicsowned excellent chemical compatibility with silver and optimized microwave dielectric performance (εr ~13. 4, Qf ~ 32,400GHz at 9.4 GHz, and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) ~ -43.0 ppm/℃).

Stress-constrained topology optimization for material extrusion polymer additive manufacturing

Liu Jikai,Yan Jingjing,Yu Huangchao 한국CDE학회 2021 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.8 No.3

This paper presents a comprehensive numerical and experimental study on stress-constrained topology optimization for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) additive manufacturing. The qp method is employed to avoid the singularity issue of stress-constrained problems. The P-norm function with stability transformation is adopted to build the global stress constraint with iterative corrections to eliminate the gap between the maximum local stress and the P-norm stress. The Heaviside projection is employed to generate clear-cut 0–1 designs. Two benchmark examples have been studied with the numerical algorithm. Experiments are performed on the topologically optimized MBB beam to investigate the impact of the FDM process parameters, including deposition path direction, building direction, and slicing layer height, on the resulted structural strength. The stress-constrained designs without and with Heaviside projection are comparatively tested with experiments. The stress-minimization designs subject to different P-norm parameters are compared both numerically and experimentally. Experiments show that the deposition path direction and the building direction evidently affect the derived structural strength. Moreover, overthin structural members may severely degrade the structural strength due to manufacturing and loading uncertainties.
