An Improved Privacy Preserving Construction for Data Integrity Verification in Cloud Storage
( Yingjie Xia ),( Fubiao Xia ),( Xuejiao Liu ),( Xin Sun ),( Yuncai Liu ),( Yi Ge ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2014 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.8 No.10
The increasing demand in promoting cloud computing in either business or other areas requires more security of a cloud storage system. Traditional cloud storage systems fail to protect data integrity information (DII), when the interactive messages between the client and the data storage server are sniffed. To protect DII and support public verifiability, we propose a data integrity verification scheme by deploying a designated confirmer signature DCS as a building block. The DCS scheme strikes the balance between public verifiable signatures and zero-knowledge proofs which can address disputes between the cloud storage server and any user, whoever acting as a malicious player during the two-round verification. In addition, our verification scheme remains blockless and stateless, which is important in conducting a secure and efficient cryptosystem. We perform security analysis and performance evaluation on our scheme, and compared with the existing schemes, the results show that our scheme is more secure and efficient.

In our previous study, pyrrolnitrin produced in Pseudomonas chlororaphis G05 plays more critical role in suppression of mycelial growth of some fungal pathogens that cause plant diseases in agriculture. Although some regulators for pyrrolnitrin biosynthesis were identified, the pyrrolnitrin regulation pathway was not fully constructed. During our screening novel regulator candidates, we obtained a white conjugant G05W02 while transposon mutagenesis was carried out between a fusion mutant G05ΔphzΔprn::lacZ and E. coli S17- 1 (pUT/mini-Tn5Kan). By cloning and sequencing of the transposon-flanking DNA fragment, we found that a vfr gene in the conjugant G05W02 was disrupted with mini-Tn5Kan. In one other previous study on P. fluorescens, however, it was reported that the deletion of the vfr caused increased production of pyrrolnitrin and other antifungal metabolites. To confirm its regulatory function, we constructed the vfr-knockout mutant G05Δvfr and G05ΔphzΔprn::lacZΔvfr. By quantifying β-galactosidase activities, we found that deletion of the vfr decreased the prn operon expression dramatically. Meanwhile, by quantifying pyrrolnitrin production in the mutant G05Δvfr, we found that deficiency of the Vfr caused decreased pyrrolnitrin production. However, production of phenazine-1-carboxylic acid was same to that in the wild-type strain G05. Taken together, Vfr is required for pyrrolnitrin but not for phenazine-1-carboxylic acid biosynthesis in P. chlororaphis G05.

A modified ABS algorithm for solving a class of singular non-linear systems, $F(x) = 0, $F\;\in \;R^n$, constructed by combining the discreted ABS algorithm and a method of Hoy and Schwetlick (1990), is presented. The second differential operation of F at a point is not required to be calculated directly in this algorithm. Q-quadratic convergence of this algorithm is given.

A modified discretization ABS algorithm for solving a class of singular nonlinear systems, F($\chi$)=0, where $\chi$, F $\in$ $R^n$, is presented, constructed by combining a discretization ABS algorithm arid a method of Hoy and Schwetlick (1990). A modified BFGS algorithm for solving the unconstrained optimization, whose Hessian matrix at the minimum point of the convex function is of rank defects, is presented in this paper. The main idea of the algorithm is first to add a modified term to the convex function for obtain an equivalent model, then simply the model to get the modified BFGS algorithm. The superlinear convergence property of the algorithm is proved in this paper. To compared with the Tensor algorithms presented by R. B. Schnabel (seing [4],[5]), this method is more efficient for solving singular unconstrained optimization in computing amount and complication.

The influence of the atmospheric radon background on the airborne gamma spectrum can seriously affect researchers’ judgement of ground radiation information. However, due to load and endurance, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-borne gamma-ray spectrometry is difficulty installing upward-looking detectors to monitor atmospheric radon background. In this paper, an advanced spectral-ratio method was used to correct the atmospheric radon background for a UAV-borne gamma-ray spectrometry in Inner Mongolia, China. By correcting atmospheric radon background, the ratio of the average count rate of U window in the anomalous radon zone (S5) to that in other survey zone decreased from 1.91 to 1.03, and the average uranium content in S5 decreased from 4.65 mg/kg to 3.37 mg/kg. The results show that the advanced spectral-ratio method efficiently eliminated the influence of the atmospheric radon background on the UAV-borne gamma-ray spectrometry to accurately obtain ground radiation information in uranium exploration. It can also be used for uranium tailings monitoring, and environmental radiation background surveys

A study on the effects of light intensity (40 and 80 μE/m2/sec)on the components and topographical structures of extracellularpolysaccharides (EPS) was carried out in cyanobacteriaNostoc sp.. EPS yield increased with light intensity. However, light intensity did not significantly affect the EPSfractions and monosaccharide composition. Higher lightintensity generally resulted in higher protein content of EPSin similar fractions. The topographical structure of EPS, investigatedby atomic force microscopy, appeared as sphericallumps, chains and networks. The long chains were observedat higher light intensity. Thus, light intensity affected theyield and nature of EPS.

CodY is a highly conserved protein in low G+C gram-positive bacteria that regulates genes involved in sporulation and stationary-phase adaptation. Bacillus thuringiensis is a grampositive bacterium that forms spores and parasporal crystals during the stationary phase. To our knowledge, the regulatory mechanism of CodY in B. thuringiensis is unknown. To study the function of CodY protein in B. thuringiensis, BMB171codY- was constructed in a BMB171 strain. A shuttle vector containing the ORF of cry1Ac10 was transformed into BMB171 and BMB171codY-, named BMB171cry1Ac and BMB171codY-cry1Ac, respectively. Some morphological and physiological changes of codY mutant BMB171codY-cry1Ac were observed. A comparative proteomic analysis was conducted for both BMB171codY-cry1Ac and BMB171cry1Ac through two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and MALDI-TOF-MS/MS analysis. The results showed that the proteins regulated by CodY are involved in microbial metabolism, including branched-chain amino acid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, fatty acid metabolism, and energy metabolism. Furthermore, we found CodY to be involved in sporulation, biosynthesis of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate, growth, genetic competence, and translation. According to the analysis of differentially expressed proteins, and physiological characterization of the codY mutant, we performed bacterial one-hybrid and electrophoretic mobility shift assay experiments and confirmed the direct regulation of genes by CodY, specifically those involved in metabolism of branched-chain amino acids, ribosomal recycling factor FRR, and the late competence protein ComER. Our data establish the foundation for in-depth study of the regulation of CodY in B. thuringiensis, and also offer a potential biocatalyst for functions of CodY in other bacteria.
