        The input voltage of Single-sided linear induction motors (SLIMs) is involved with the time harmonics because most LIM is driven by inverter. Therefore the equivalent circuit for an inverter-fed SLIM has t o be modifided to represent every harmonic present in supply voltage. This paper describes that the dynamic characteristic can be used effectively for analyzing the characteristics of a single-sided linear induction motor using vector driver for PI controller.

      • 녹동균 세포외막 단백질 백신 CFC-1-101의 안정성 및 면역원성 검토 : 임상 제 Ⅰ/Ⅱa상 시험

        목적 : 제일제당에서는 녹농균의 세포외막 단밸질을 유효성분으로 하는 백신인 CFC-101을 개발하였으며, 동물시험에서 이 백신의 안전성과 유효성을 입증하였다. 본 연구에서는 이 녹농균 백신의 인체에 대한 안전성과 면역원성을 평가하는 동시에 인체 접종시의 최적 투여 용량을 결정하기 위하여 제 I/Ⅱa상 임상시험을 수행하였다. 방법 : 건강한 성인 남자를 피험자로 선별하여 각 용량군에 백신투여자 6명, 위약투여자 2명을 배정하였다. 백신 투여군은 0.25mg, 0.5mg 또는 1.0mg 용량의 녹농균 백신을 7일 간격으로 3회에 걸쳐 근육주사 하였으며, 위약 투여군에게는 세포외막 단백질을 제외한 동일한 성분을 투여하였다. 백신접종 후 국소적 또는 전신적인 반응의 발생여부를 관찰하고, 혈액시료를 체취하여 백신의 역가와 유효성을 검정하였다. 결과 : 녹농균 백신 CFC-101은 모든 접종자에서 양호한 내약성을 보였다. 또한 0.5mg 과 1.0mg 백신 투여군에서는 100%의 항체양전율을 나타내었다. 생성된 항체는 녹농균 세포외막단백질에 특이성을 보였고, 녹농균 감염에 대해 방어효능이 있었다. 결론 : 이와같은 결과로부터 이 녹농균 백신은 인체에 안전하게 투여할 수 있으며, 높은 항체 생성능으로 감염방어 효능을 보이고 0.5mg과 1.0mg이 최적용량인 것으로 판단되었다. Background : We developed a Pseudomonas aeruginosa outer membrane protein(OMP) vaccine CFC-101, and the prophylactic efficacy of which has been demonstrated in animal models. In order to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the P. aeruginosa vaccine, we carried out a phase I/Ⅱa clinical trial in healthy male volunteers. Methods : Groups of eight volunteers, including two placebo subjects, were vaccinated intramuscularly with three doses of 0.25, 0.5 or 1.0 mg of the vaccine at one week intervals. Sings of systemic and local reactions observed after vaccination were recorded for each vaccinee for 5 days. Physical examinations were performed on days 0, 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 42, and clinical laboratory tests were done on days 0, 3, and 21. Blood samples for assay of serum antibody levels were obtained up to 42 days after the first vaccination. Results : The vaccine was generally well tolerated by all vaccinees, showing no significant side effects. In the three dosage groups, all vaccinees, except one receiving the 0.25 mg dose, showed significant elevation in serum IgG antibody titers against the vaccine proteins, indicating 100% seroconversion in 0.5 and 1.0 mg groups. The human antibodies induced by the vaccine were specific for P. aeruginosa OMPs, as confirmed by western blot analysis and immunoprecipitation assays. The capacity of the human antisera to enhance opsonophagocytic killing activity by polymorphonuclear leukocytes and to confer protection against P. aeruginosa infections indicates that the antibodies elicited by the vaccine have protective efficacy. Conclusion : We conclude that the P. aeruginosa OMP vaccine is safe and effective for human use and its optimal dose to be 0.5 or 1.0 mg.

        A control scheme to select the appropriate layer between macro- and microcell hierarchical structure is considered. With the assumption that the each mobile speed is known to the system. the algorithm determines the optimal velocity threshold by which the cell section performed. The optimal criterion is to minimize the Grade of Service(GOS), a service criterion in cellular telephone systems. Mobile station with faster speed relative to the determined optimal speed threshold are assigned to a macrocell, while slower moving terminals are assigned to the smaller cells, i,e.. microcells.         Iridology, developed more than 100 years ago, is the diagnosis of medical conditions through noting irregularities of the pigmentation in the iris The purpose of this study is to compare interrelation between CVA, hypertension family history and cardio-renal connective tissue in Iris Constitution through iris constitution examination. The subjects consist of 114 patients who were examined in Iris Constitution at Chonju Oriental Medicine Hospital attached to Wonkwang Univ. from September. 1St. 2000 to August. 31th. 2002. 1. In the distribution of Iris Constitution, among of 79cases, There are neurogenic type 13cases, abdominal connective tissue weakness constitution 31 cases, cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution 6 cases, cholesterol 7 cases and others 22 case in control group. 2. There are familial history of CVA and hypertention 32 cases, no familial history of CVA and hypertention1 3 cases, in 35cases of experimental group. These results imply that there is meaningfulness of interrelation between cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution and. CVA, hypertention.

      • 性別 및 年齡에 따른 體格과 體力의 特性과 變化에 關한 縱斷的 硏究Ⅱ : Emphasised on College Men of Department of Physical Education 體育專功 大學生을 中心으로

        The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristics, change in physique and physical function of college students majoring physical education and Taekwondo (454 males and 64 females of age groups ranging from 18 to 26). The results are as following: 1. The male group of 23yrs old in physical education showed highest values in 7 items(Weight, Chest Girth, Fore Arm Girth, Thigh Girth, Calf Girth, Scapular Skinfold Thickness and Suprailiac Skinfold Thickness). 2. In the Physical function, the male group of 18yrs old showed highest values in Power, Flexibility, and then 21yrs old at Back Strength, Vital Capacity, and 23yrs old at Grip Strength, and 25yrs old at Blood Pressure, respectively. 3. In the physique, the male group of 22yrs old showed highest values in Weight, Chest Girth, Thigh Girth, Calf Girth, and then 24yrs old Upper Arm Girth, Fore Arm Girth, and 19yrs old at Height, Upper Limb Length, respectively. 4. In Physical Function, the 22yrs old showed highest values in Back Strength, Vital Capacity, and then 23yrs old at Side Step, Trunk Extension, but 18yrs old showed lower Values in Grip Strength, Side Step, Vital Capacity and Blood Pressure. 5. The female group of 22yrs old showed highest values in 8 items(Height, Sitting Height, Waist Girth, Upper Limb Length, Lower Limb Length, Skinfold Thickness), and then 18yrs old at 5 items (Weight, Upper Arm Girth, Fore Arm Girth, Thigh Girth, Calf Girth), respectively. 6. In the physical function, the 22yrs old showed highest Values in Grip strength, Back Strength, Power, 5 Minute Run, and 18yrs old at flexibility, Harvard Step Test, respectively. 7. In the change of the physique for two years(1988-1989) in the male group, majoring Physical education the 22yrs old showed increase in 4 items, and the 20yrs old in 3 items, but 18yrs old showed decrease in 3 items. 8. In the change of the physical function for two years in the male group, the 20yrs old showed increase in 4 items, and the 21, 25, 26yrs old in 3 items, but the 19yrs old showed decrease in 6 items, and 18, 22 yrs old in 5 items, respectively. 9. The change of the physique for two years in all female group, of 18, 19, 20, 21yrs old showed increase in 11 items except Skinfold Thickness. 10. In the change of physical function for two years in female group, the 18yrs old showed increase in 3 items, and then 20yrs old in 5 items, but 19, 22yrs old decreased 12 items, respectively. 11. The highest significant difference in physique between male and female was found in weight(mean Value 17.5%), and the lowest difference was found Thigh Girth, Calf Girth(1,3%), Upper Limb Length, Lower Limb Length(2.5%). 12. The Highest difference in physical function was Strength (mean Value 40%), Vital Capacity (33%), Power(22%), but Lower Trunk Flexion, Foot Balance(3.4%). 13. In the difference of Physique and physical function between physical education major and taekwondo major, the physical education showed higher values in skinfold Thickines (mean Value 16.5%), Weight, Waist Girth(4.7%) and Strength(33%), Endurance(5.6%), but subjects majoring Taekwondo showed higher values in Flexibility and Foot Balance. 14. In all male groups, Waist Girth, Scapular Skinfold Thickness, Back Strength, Sargent Jump, Trunk Extension and Diastolic Blood Pressure were showed a significantly related at 0.001 level.

        Estimating the positron and velocity of mobile stations is an important issue tar hierarchical cellular systems as the efficient allocation of mobiles to macro or microcells depends on its position and velocity. rower measurement method is applied and discrete location path-loss information is used to estimate the position of the mobile. Velocity estimation is treated in the same way with the position estimation problem since the mobility is the movement in a unit time. Lowpass smoothing technique and moving average are applied. The results prove to enhance the performance of the system. The path-loss data used in the simulator 2D-tracing method. Direction of _Future research in the topics are presented.

      • 두경부 편평상피암에서의 MIB-1, p53, bcl-2와 apoptosis의 발현 및 상호 연관성

        Objective : Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck represents approximately 2.0∼4.0% of all malignant tumors, with an etiology closely associated with smoking, drinking and various genetic alterations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of MIB-1, p53, bcl-2 and apoptosis according to degree of differentitation of squamous cell carcinoma. Methods and Material : forty-eight cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck were selected for this study. MIB-1, p53, bc1-2 expression rate were studied by iromunogistochemical staining and the number of apoptosis observed by TUNEL method. Results : The expressioins of MIB-1, p53, bcl-2 and apoptosis were found in 56.3%, 50.0%, 14.6%, 85.4%, of 48 cases of squamous cell carcinoma, respectively. The expression of MIB-1, p53 and apoptosis were more higher in poorly differentiated cases than well differentiated cases. MIB-1 expression was related with p53 mutation (p<0.05) and apoptosis rate(p<0.05). Conclusion : From these results. the expressions of MIB-1, bcl-2 and apoptosis were related with degree of differentiation of squamous cell carcinoma and correlation among these parameters.

      • NK/T 세포 림프종 환자에서 시행된 비골수제거성 조혈모세포이식

        저자 등은 맹장, 충수돌기 및 흉막을 침범한 고위험군 NK/T 세포 림프종 환자에서 비골수제거 조혈모세포이식을 시행한 후 이식연관 합병증 없이 무병생존하였기에 보고하는 바이다. NK/T cell lymphoma is a rare type of non-Hodgkin"s lymphomas. It has the histological features of angiocentric lymphoma characterized by prominent angio-invasion by tumor cells, and commonly presents in nasal and paranasal structures. Non-nasal form of NK/T cell lymphoma involves skin, gastrointestinal tract, or liver. With conventional chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, NK/T cell lymphoma shows poor response rate and seldom results in long term survival. Especially, non-nasal form has more aggressive clinical manifestations and grave outcome than nasal form. We report a case of NK/T cell lymphoma presenting with small bowel perforation and malignant pleural effusion due to lymphoma infiltration, transplanted with allogeneic peripheral blood stem cells from HLA identical sibling donor after fludarabine-based nonmyeloablative chemotherapy. After transplantation, the patient achieved an enduring tri-lineage hematological complete response without any evidence of relapse for 10 months.

        The Changes of Renal Function in Apparent Healthy Individuals with a Simple Renal Cyst

        Purpose : Simple cysts are a common structural abnormality in seemingly healthy individuals, but their clinical significance, especially on changes of renal function, remains unknown. We examined whether sporadic cysts can influence changes of renal function in apparent healthy individuals. Methods : The records from 424 people who underwent two ultrasonographic examinations in a routine check-up at our health promotion center from 2000 to 2003 were reviewed. Patients who had a medical disease were excluded. The healthy individuals (n=199) were divided into two groups according to whether they had renal cysts (cyst group, n=61), or not (control group, n=138). Renal function was evaluated by serum creatinine level (Scr), creatinine clearance (Ccr), using the Cockcroft-Gault equation, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR), using the MDRD equation. Results : Individuals in the cyst group were significantly older (44.18±7.55, 41.02±7.06, p=0.013) and more likely to be male (90.16%, 72.46%, p=0.006) than those without cysts. Compared with the control group, the cyst group had no significant differences in Scr (1.03±0.15 mg/dL, 1.08±0.11 mg/dL, respectively, p=0.06), in Ccr (82.34±13.26 ml/min, 81.00±12.6 ml/min, respectively, p=0.56) nor in GFR (84.35±11.65 ml/min/1.73m2, 82.47±10.27 ml/min/1.73m2, respectively, p=0.38). Furthermore, the parameters for changes of renal function were not significant over three years. Conclusions : The presence of renal cysts was associated with neither renal dysfunction nor a reduction in renal function over three years in Korean individuals without apparent renal disease.

      • 운영환경을 고려한 KTX 안티롤바의 구조동특성 계측시험 평가 및 너클부의 표면피로마모 감소방안 연구

        본 연구는 KTX 안티롤바 너클부의 표면피로마모 특성을 개선하기 위하여 시험 및 수치해석적 방법을 사용하였다. 실험의 경우 KTX 안티롤바의 강재너클 구조와 KTX-산천의 얇은 금속판과 고무가 층을 이루는 탄성너클 구조에 대해 호남선의 운행환경을 고려한 구조동특성을 비교 평가하였다. 이때, 가속도 및 응력 데이터를 각각 측정하였다. 시험결과 분석을 통해 안티롤바 커넥팅로드의 홀 사이즈 증가가 요구되나, KTX 안티롤바 너클구조의 표면피로마모를 감소시키기 위한 최선의 해결책으로 탄성너클 구조가 제안되었다. 수치해석의 경우 KTX 안티롤바 강체 및 탄성너클 구조에 대해 LS-DYNA3D를 사용하여 구조동특성 해석을 수행하였으며, 시험과 비교평가를 통해 사용된 유한요소모델의 신뢰성을 확보하였다. 수치해석 결과 강체너클이 적용된 안티롤바의 응력 및 속도장 보다 탄성너클 구조가 너클과 커넥팅로드 사이의 상대적 접촉이 감소하여 응력 및 속도장이 좀 더 적정한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, KTX 안티롤바에 탄성너클 구조의 적용이 표면피로마로 특성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. In order to improve the surface fatigue wear property of the knuckle part of KTX anti-roll bar, the experimental and numerical approach was used in this study. In the experiment, acceleration and stress data for the steel knuckle structure (rigid knuckle) of KTX anti-roll bar and the thin steel plate/rubber layeredknuckle structure (elastic knuckle) of KTX-SANCHUN anti-roll bar, respectively, were measured to evaluate and compare its structural dynamic characteristics under operating environments of Honam line. Through the analysis of the results of the experiment, the elastic knuckle structure was suggested as best solution to reduce the surface fatigue wear of the knuckle structure of KTX anti-roll bar, although the hole size increase for connecting rod of anti-roll bar was required. In the numerical approach, the structural dynamic analysis using LS-DYAN3D was conducted for the rigid and elastic knuckle structure of KTX antiroll bar, and the reliability of the used finite element models was ensured by comparative evaluation with experiment. The numerical results showed that the stress and velocity field in the elastic knuckle structure more moderated resulting from the reduction of relative contact between the knuckle and connecting rod than the stress and velocity field in anti-roll bar to which the rigid knuckle was applied. Therefore, it is expected to improve its surface fatigue wear characteristics due to the application of the elastic knuckle structure of KTX anti-roll bar.
