Methods : The subjects were 132 (67 male and 65 female), and classified to three age groups (≤39,40∼49, and 50≤). Hood lead, manganese and aluminium were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and blood silicon was analyzed by direct current plasma optical omission spectrometer. Results : Blood lead levels(geometric mean, S.D) were (3.49, 1.70) ㎍/dL in male auld (3.04, 1.65) ㎍/dL in female, but the difference is not significant, and there was no significant difference between age groups. Mean blood manganese level was 0.99±0.41㎍/dL, and there was no significant difference between sex or age groups. Mean blood aluminium level was 0.59±0.35㎍/dL and there was no significant difference between sex or age groups. Mean blood silicon level was 54.41±27.64㎍/dL in male and 43.34±23.51㎍/dL in female, and the level in male was significantly higher than that in female (p〈0.05). There was significant difference between age groups, and the oldest showed the highest level in male (p〈0.05), but no significant difference between age groups in female. Conclusions : Authors hope that this study would provide basic data for determininig reference values and evaluating health effects.

An Agrobacterium tumefaciens LBA4404 (harboring antisense OMT gene)-mediated transformation method has been developed for poplar (P.nigra x maximowiczii) using prolonging co-cultivation time. Explants on LT (longterm) were induced transgenic calli one month earlier than those from ST (short-term) co-cultivation and remained healthier on LT than ST. With this approach, LT method reduced time to produce transgenic calli. Shoots were successfully regenerated from transgenic calli on SIM (Shoot Induction Medium) and rooted well on the basal medium spontaneously. The presence of antisense OMT gene was verified both by PCR and Southern analysis. Each transgenic poplar was phenotypically indishtinguishable when compared with controls for their growth pattern, leaf morphologies and xylem coloration.

진보된 혼돈 대각화 방법을 이용한 상호작용하는 페르미온 계의 기저상태 계산

2차원 상호작용하는 페르미온 계에 대한 혼돈 대각화 계산의 컴퓨터 계산 시간이, 대칭성 연산과 같은 여러 가지 방법을 이용함으로써 감소되었다. 첫째로, 각각의 격자를 업스핀(↑) 격자와 다운스핀(↓) 격자로 나누어서 2 부분 격자가 가능케 했다. 이에 따라, 유효한 바탕 상태는 업스핀 배열에 다운스핀 배열을 겹침으로써 얻어진다. 결과적으로, 시험 바탕 상태를 저장하는데 사용되는 메모리 공간이 현저하게 감소되었다. 두 번째로, 바탕 상태 집합을 구성할 때, 해밀토니안 행렬의 원소들을 순람표에 기록하였다. 그럼으로써, 혼돈 대각화 과정에서 해밀토니안 행렬의 원소들을 반복적으로 계산하는 것을 피했다. 세 번째로, 바탕 상태 집합에 대칭성 연산을 적용함으로써 원 바탕 상태 집합이 대칭성 연산의 고유벡터들로 구성된 새로운 바탕 상태 집합으로 변환되었다. 기저 상태 파동함수는 대칭적인 바탕상태 (결합상태) 집합으로부터 구성되었다. 결과로서, 대칭성 연산을 이용함으로써, 혼돈 대각화 계산에 쓰이는 바탕상태의 총 개수가 50%까지 감소되었다. The computational time of Stocahstic Diagonalization (SD) calculation for 2-dimensional interacting fermion systems is reduced by using several methods including symmetry operations. First, each lattice is subdivided into spin-up and spin-down lattices separately, thus allowing a bi-partite lattice. A valid basis state is then obtained from stacking up an up-spin configuration on top of a down-spin configuration. As a consequence, the memory space to be used in saving the trial basis state reduces significantly. Secondly, the matrix elements of a Hamiltonianin are reconrded in a look-up table when making basis state set. Thus the repeated calculation of the matrix elements of the Hamiltonian are avoided during SD process. Thirdly, by applying symmetry operations to the basis state set the original basis state is transformed to a new basis state whose elements are the eigenvectors of the symmetry operations. The ground state wavefunction is constructed from the elements of symmetric - bonding state - basis state set. As a result, the total number of basis states involved in SD calculation is reduced upto 50 percentage by using symmetry operations.

A case report of a 23 year-old pregnant woman with the clinical, laboratory and pathologic features consistent with acute fatty metamorphosis of the liver in pregnant woman is presented. She delivered a viable premature female infant and healthy in both, and the literatures were reviewed. This is the 7th patient survived and only the 4th case with survival of mother and child without the use of tetracycline, added to our case in the literatures. This patient was treated for acute pyelonephritis and there was no evidence of acute pancreatitis or severe renal insufficiency. In the present case, the onset of illness and jaundice appeared earlier than the reported cases and there was severe vaginal bleeding after the premature delivery. The pathologic findings were morphologically characterized by a foamy cell type of fatty metamorphosis of all the hepatic lohules, accompanied by some mononuclear infiltrates around the periportal areas without necrosis. Liver neddle biopsy is essential. For the diagnosis of this disease, and the prognosis depends upon vigorous supportive treatments based on early suspicion and diagnosis.
