The large increase in the use of electricity has resulted in an ever-growing electric power demand. It has created the need for the construction of power transmission facility located close to the load centers and it also has to require wide right-of-way and large lots, that are not always available, for especially the installation of the towers. The difficulties in acquiring right-of-way have put pressure on energy companies to either upgrade a line on an existing right-of-way to higher voltage or build a new line on a narrow right-of-way. This paper presents the design of a compact tower with polymer Insulation arm, in order to reduce the separation between phases. the compact tower can be built on a narrow right-of-way. the compact tower can be designed based on 345 kV Tower regarding electrical clearances and right of way, therefore the conventional 154 kV Tower can be upgrading transmission line voltages have moved to 345 kV levels.
산불에 노출된 강심알루미늄연선 송전선 알루미늄 선재의 기계적 및 전기적 특성 거동

Forest fire can cause a serious damage to overhead conductors. Therefore, detailed investigation on the changes of mechanical and electrical properties of damaged conductors should be carried out to understand the effect of forest fires on conductors. This is of critical importance in maintaining transmission line safely. This paper examines the changes of mechanical and electrical properties of flame exposed conductor. Tensile strength (TS) decreased according to increase of forest fire temperature and conductivity changed according to forest fire temperature. Specimens were aluminum conductors of aluminium conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) 410, 240, 480 $mm^2$. In this paper, the electrical and mechanical characteristics of forest fires exposed overhead conductors depending on the diameter of aluminum conductors are presented. It was possible to estimate the degree of deterioration caused by forest fires. The detailed results are given in the paper.
생쥐 Age에 따른 난자-난구 복합체의 분산과 성숙에 관한 연구

In order to know when the cumulus cells of mouse follicles get ability to expand in vitro, the oocyte cumulus complexes obtained from different growing ages of mice were cultured in the medium containing HCG and their rate of expansion were observed and at the same time their maturation rate was examined. The growth of follicles was also checked by histological method. It was impossible to isolate the oocyte-cumulus complexes from 13 or 15 days old mouse ovaries. The oocyte-cumulus complexes collected from 17 days old mouse were partially induced to expanded by HCG, and from 19 days, most of the complexes were induced to full expansion. The rate of cumulus cell expansion by HCG and the oocyte maturation increased steadly during the growing ages to adult. Thus, the time for follicles to get competence for expansion and maturation seems to be closely related. Antral follicles were appeared from 17 days old mice and Graafian follicles were seen from 21 days old mice. The competence for cumulus expansion increased during follicle growth up to 21 days old mice.
가공지선이 연결된 송전철탑의 탑각저항 측정에 관한 연구

Footing Resistance of a 154 kV transmission towers in korea is commonly required to be less than 15 ohm to avoid lightning back-flashover accident. The periodic measurement of Footing Resistance is important to verify that the grounding performance of the towers has been maintained good. Towers are electrically connected in parallel with overhead grounding wire, therefore footing resistance of each tower will be measured after disconnecting the overhead ground wires from the towers. however, In this paper, three direct measurement methods of footing resistance are presented. There are very useful methods without disconnecting overhead ground wires from the tower under measurement. They are compared in KEPCO 154 kV transmission towers. The experimental results describe performances of them.

우리나라 송전선로의 위치는 대부분 산악지형에 포설되어 있어 산불 발생으로 인한 피해에 취약한 구조이다. 주로 산불에 의한 화염, 열, 연무 등 복합적인 환경 요인이 송전선로에 영향을 미치게 되며, 이로 인해 송전 선로를 구성하는 전선 및 애자를 포함한 금구류 등이 본래의 기능을 상실하게 되어 전력 공급에 문제가 발생하게 된다. 또한 산불 진화에 사용하는 물과 방재용 약재에 의해 발생하는 부가적인 송전 선로의 특성 변화 역시 잠재적인 사고 발생 요인으로 볼 수 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 산불 발생시 송전선로에 미치는 영향 및 특성 연구를 위해 산불의 특성을 살펴보고 특성을 모의하여 시험 할 수 있는 산불 모의 실증 시험 설비를 구축에 대해 설명한다.

To clarify annual reproductive cycle of Korean dark sleeper, Odontobutis platycephala (Iwata et Jeon), we examined the seasonal changes of gonadosomatic index (GSI), the proportional frequency of oocyte development stapes in the ovary and the chanties of sex steroid Hormone bevels in blood from December 1995 to November 1997. In July and August, GSI was 0.35 to 0.72 and most oocytes in the ovary were chromatin-nucleolus stage and perinucleolar stage(proportional frequency: 87%∼96%). In September, GSI was 1.20±0.12, some oocytes in the ovary were yolk vesicle stage (proportional frequency: 22.8%) and vitellogenic stage which appeared very rarely(proportional frequency: 2.2%). GSI increased gradually from October and reached 4.59±0.61 to December. During this period, oocytes of vitellogenic stage increased slightly (proportional frequency in December: 22.1%). In January, GSI was 4.32±0.72 but the proportional frequency of oocytes in vitellogenic stage increased (proportional frequency: 51.2%). From February, GSI was increased sharply and reached to 10.51± 1.04 in March, the highest value throughout the year and the proportional frequency of oocytes in vitellogenic stave also reached the highest levels (proportional frequency: 60%). From April, GSI was gradually decreased and fell down to 1.11±0.35 in June. During this period, the proportional frequency of mature oocytes was the highest in April (proportional frequency of mature oocyte stage: 40% in April, 12% May, 5% June) throughout the year, and atretic ovarian follicles were appeared. The blood level of estradiol-17β(E₂), which stimulates the hepatic synthesis and secretion of vitellogenin, was 0.84±0.20ng/㎖ in August, and thereafter not changed until December. From January, it increased sharply and reached the highest level 2.85±0.35ng/㎖ in March throughout the year, but fell to 0.14±0.02ng/㎖ in July(P<0.05). 17 α-hydroxyprogesterone (17 α-OHP) was the peak 13.37±0.52 ng/㎖ in March, but no significant changes in other period (below 3 ng/㎖, P<0.05). 17α, 20β-dihydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one (17α, 20β-P), which was known as the final maturation inducing hormone in teleost, was 0.74±0.09ng/㎖ in April and 0.54±0.07ng/㎖ in May, but no significant changes in other period (below 0.26ng/㎖, P<0.05). Taken together these results, the annual reproductive cycle of O. platycephala divided into 4 periods as follows: 1) ripe and spawning period from April to June, main spawning period was from April to May, 2) Resting period from July to August, 3) Growing period from September to December, 4) Maturing period from January to March. Moreover, It was showed that the chanties of sex steroid hormone blood played a important roles in the annual reproductive cycle of O. platycephala.
