The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of organizational culture on job satisfaction and organizational commitment among employees in small and medium-sized enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The study hypothesized that organizational culture has a significant influence on employees’ satisfaction and that satisfaction also significantly impactsorganizational commitment among employees. The data are collected from a sample of 240 office employees. Structural Equation Modeling is used to determine the influence of organizational culture dimensions, including open working environment, salary, and rewards, empowerment, management style, corporate values, on employees’ satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings showed that the five dimensions of organizational culture positively impact employees’ satisfaction and that job satisfaction significantly influences organizational commitment. Thus, job satisfaction serves as the bridge between organizational culture and commitment. The current study contributes to providing a practical insight into the relationships between organizational culture, employees’ job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Based on that, managers can develop suitable personnel policies for their organizations to simultaneously enhance employees’ performance and satisfaction, which makes them stay with the company.

<P>This work focuses on systematic studies of dissolution engineering for Pt0.9M0.1/graphene(M = Au, Co, Cu, Fe, Mo, Ni, Pd, Ru, and Sn) counter electrodes (CEs). The developed nanohybrid materials exhibit higher catalytic activity and electrical conductivity compared with those of Pt/graphene CEs. The results also indicate the improved stability of the developed CEs in iodide electrolyte. Furthermore, the trend in the variation of the reactivity of the PtM alloys agrees well with the concept of density functional theory (one-electron description). An enhancement in the catalytic activity of the developed nanohybrids results from the electronic effect that originates from an upward shift of the platinum d-band to the Fermi energy level upon alloying. Thus, the Pt(0.9)M(0.1)graphene nanohybrids are cost-effective alternative CE materials to the expensive Pt. The obtained results provide a foundation for enhancing the catalytic activities of CEs for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). The implementation of the Pt0.9M0.1/graphene nanohybrids offers significant potential for increasing the efficiency of DSCs. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.</P>
Lottery Mindsets and the Cross Sectional Returns in the Vietnam Stock Market
Viet Anh Hoang(Viet Anh Hoang Viet Anh Hoang),Ba Thanh Truong(Ba Thanh Truong Ba Thanh Truong),Duong Viet Anh(Duong Viet Anh Duong Viet Anh),Hoang Van Hai(Hoang Van Hai Hoang Van Hai) People & Global Business Association 2024 Global Business and Finance Review Vol.29 No.4
Purpose: In this study, we evaluate the relationship between lottery-type stocks and future return in the Vietnam stock market from July 2010 to June 2023. Design/methodology/approach: We employ portfolio-level analysis and firm-level cross-sectional regressions fol-lowing Bali et al. (2011). Findings: We find that the minimum daily return (MINRET) is negative and statistically significant in the cross-sec-tional pricing of stocks. The minimum daily return during the previous month and anticipated stock returns are negatively and significantly correlated, according to portfolio-level analyses and firm-level cross-sectional regressions. However, the maximum daily return (MAXRET) effect is not priced in the Vietnam stock market. These findings hold up under controls for liquidity, skewness, momentum, short-term reversals, size, and book-to-market. Research limitations/implications: This study provides an understanding of the lottery phenomenon in the empiri-cal dimension, especially in the emerging stock market. Originality/value: Importantly, our empirical findings that the MINRET, not MAXRET, effect is strongly exhibited as a lottery-type stock's behavior in the Vietnam market.
Luminescence Properties of Ba₃Si6O12 N₂:Eu2+ Green Phosphor

To fabricate white LED having a high color rendering index value, red color phosphor mixed with the green color phosphor together in the blue chip, namely the blue chips with RG phosphors packaging is most favorable for high power white LEDs. In our previous papers, we reported on successful syntheses of Sr₂-Si5N8:Eu2+ and CaAlSiN₃ phosphors for red phosphor. In this work, for high power green phosphor, greenemitting ternary nitride Ba₃Si6O12N₂:Eu2+ phosphor was synthesized in a high frequency induction furnace under N₂ gas atmosphere at temperatures up to 1400℃ using EuF₃ as a raw material for Eu2+dopant. The effects of molar ratio of component and experimental conditions on luminescence property of prepared phosphors have been investigated. The structure and luminescence properties of prepared Ba₃Si6O12N₂:Eu2+ phosphors were investigated by XRD and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The excitation spectra of Ba₃Si6O12N₂:Eu2+ phosphors indicated broad excitation wavelength range of 250 - 500 nm, namely from UV to blue region with distinct enhanced emission spectrum peaking at ≈ 530 nm.
State Estimation Technique for VRLA Batteries for Automotive Applications
Van Huan Duong,Ngoc Tham Tran,Woojin Choi,Dae-Wook Kim 전력전자학회 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.1
The state-of-charge (SOC) and state-of-health (SOH) estimation of batteries play important roles in managing batteries for automotive applications. However, an accurate state estimation of a battery is difficult to achieve because of certain factors, such as measurement noise, highly nonlinear characteristics, strong hysteresis phenomenon, and diffusion effect of batteries. In certain vehicular applications, such as idle stop–start systems (ISSs), significant errors in SOC/SOH estimation may lead to a failure in restarting a combustion engine after the shut-off period of the engine when the vehicle is at rest, such as at a traffic light. In this paper, a dual extended Kalman filter algorithm with a dynamic equivalent circuit model of a lead–acid battery is proposed to deal with this problem. The proposed algorithm adopts a battery model by taking into account the hysteresis phenomenon, diffusion effect, and parameter variations for accurate state estimations of the battery. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified through experiments by using an absorbed glass mat valve-regulated lead–acid battery and a battery sensor cable for commercial ISS vehicles.

ReTain is a commercial product containing the plant growth regulator aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG). This compound is known to competitively inhibit ethylene production. Benzothiadiazole (BTH) is an activator of systemic acquired resistance used for triggering induced resistance in plants. The pre-harvest foliar application of ReTain alone or BTH and ReTain, 2 weeks before anticipated harvesting time, delayed the median harvest day by 5.5 days. Melons harvested from plots were treated with ReTain or combined with BTH had lower rates of ethylene production at harvest and after cold storage than melons harvested from BTH-treated and control plants. ReTain-treated fruit had about 1% higher soluble solid concentrations (SSC) than control fruit. Indicators of delayed fruit maturity were greener rind and firmer flesh. In addition, the effect of ReTain or the combination of ReTain and BTH on the tolerance to postharvest rot was investigated. The results suggest that application of combined ReTain and BTH has major benefits as a harvest management tool for rockmelon production byallowing growers to regulate fruit ripening, improve fruit quality and reduce postharvest rot severity.
Single-Crystal like MgB2 thin films grown on c-cut sapphire substrates
Duong, Pham Van,Ranot, Mahipal,Kang, Won Nam The Korea Institute of Applied Superconductivity a 2014 한국초전도저온공학회논문지 Vol.16 No.3
Single-crystal like $MgB_2$ thin film was grown on (000l) $Al_2O_3$ substrate by using hybrid physical-chemical vapor deposition (HPCVD) system. Single crystal properties were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the (0001) $MgB_2$ peak is $15^{\circ}$, which is very close to that has been reported for $MgB_2$ single-crystal. It indicates that the crystalline quality of thin film is good. Temperature dependence on resistivity was investigated by physical property measurement system (PPMS) in various applied fields from 0 to 9 T. The upper critical field ($H_{c2}$) and irreversibility field ($H_{irr}$) were determined from PPMS data, and the estimated values are comparable with that of $MgB_2$ single-crystals. The thin film shows a high critical temperature ($T_c$) of 40.4 K with a sharp superconducting transition width of 0.2 K, and a high residual resistivity ratio (RRR=21), it reflects that $MgB_2$ thin film has a pure phase structure.
