Contact angle of water on Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film surface and cast film surface of poly(-benzyl L-glutamate)(PBLG)/poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)/PBLG block copolymer was compared. The contact angle of water on the PBLG homopolymer and PBLG/PEG/PBLG block copolymers was dependent on the fabrication method. The contact angle of water on cast film surface decreased with an increase of PEG content in the copolymer, whereas that on the LB film was constant independent of the PEG content. Many more platelets adhered onto the LB surface than the cast one. Extensive morphological changes of the platelets adhered onto the LB surface were observed in comparison with the cast films.
