Studies have shown that smoking is a learnt behavior, often initiated during adolescence. This paper aims to describe tobacco-related knowledge, attitude and associations among school adolescents aged 13-15 with exposure to anti-smoking information. Using data from the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) in Viet Nam, 2014, knowledge was measured through 4 questions about tobacco use, and attitude was assessed through 3 questions on personal, social and environmental aspects. Students giving most anti-tobacco responses to all questions were considered as having correct knowledge or appropriate attitude or both. Access to anti-smoking information was determined by exposure to any media messages on tobacco control during the past 30 days and teaching in school about the danger of tobacco use during the past 12 months. A substantial percentage of students thought that being near others who smoke might be harmful to them and smoking is harmful to health (89.4% and 89.6% respectively). However, only 46.4% reported that it is definitely difficult to quit smoking and 66.9% thought that smoking for only 1 or 2 years, once stopped, is harmful to health. Slightly more than half of the respondents reported appropriate attitude that young smokers have fewer friends than others and smoking makes them less attractive and less comfortable at social events. Noticing anti-smoking messages in the media together with having lessons in school about the dangers of tobacco substantially increased the likelihood of having correct knowledge, appropriate attitude and both. Despite relatively high awareness about smoking harms, effective educational communication is still highly needed to improve the level of comprehensive knowledge and an appropriate attitude regarding tobacco use.

The existence of correlation characteristics brings significant potential advantages to the development of efficient routing protocols in wireless sensor networks. This research proposes a new simple method of clustering sensor nodes into correlation groups in multiple-correlation areas. At first, the evaluation of joint entropy for multiple-sensed data is considered. Based on the evaluation, the definition of correlation region, based on entropy theory, is proposed. Following that, a correlation clustering scheme with less computation is developed. The results are validated with a real data set.
Memory characteristics of poly-Si using MIC as an active layer on glass substrates
Nguyen, Thanh Nga,Jung, Sungwook,Nguyen, Van Duy,Yi, Junsin Institute of Physics [etc.] 2010 Journal of Physics. D, Applied Physics Vol.43 No.10
<P>In this paper the electrical properties of nonvolatile memory (NVM) using multi-stack gate insulators of oxide–nitride–oxynitride (ONOn) and an active layer of low temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) were investigated. From hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si : H), the LTPS thin film with a high crystalline fraction of 96% and a low surface roughness of 1.28 nm was fabricated by metal induced crystallization (MIC) with annealing conditions of 650 °C for 5 h on glass substrates. The LTPS thin film transistor or the NVM had a field effect mobility of (μFE) 10 cm2 V−1 s−1 and a threshold voltage (<I>V</I>TH) of −3.5 V. The results demonstrated that the NVM had a memory window of 1.6 V with a programming and erasing (P/E) voltage of −14 V and 14 V in 1 ms. Moreover, retention properties of the memory were shown to exceed 80% after 10 years. Therefore, the LTPS fabricated by MIC has become a potential material for NVM application which is employed for the system integration of panel displays.</P>
Advanced Magnetic Materials Produced by Using Rapid Quenching Technology

Amorphous alloys produced by using a rapid quenching technique are considered to be a precursor for producing nanosized and multiphase structures by precipitation (the top-down method). By using this technique, several new magnetic materials with different magnetic properties based on different physical mechanisms have been manufactured and investigated. Three new magnetic materials, a nanocrystalline soft magnetic material, a soft-hard permanent magnet and a Me-3d granular alloy with a GMR effect, what were prepared under local conditions, are presented and discussed in the experimental point of view. Advanced Solid-Phase Crystallization of Amorphous Silicon on a Glass Substrate
Thanh Nga Nguyen,Junsin Yi,정성욱 한국물리학회 2009 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.54 No.6
We report the crystallization of an amorphous silicon (a-Si) film by using advanced solid-phase crystallization (a-SPC). Solid-phase crystallization (SPC) is the most common method to obtain polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si). However, SPC requires a long annealing time to change from the a-Si phase to the poly-Si phase. The a-SPC method, which employs a high annealing temperature (above 700℃) but a short annealing time, is investigated to overcome this disadvantage. After dehydrogenating at 450℃ for 2 hours, the a-Si films on Corning EAGLE glass substrates are annealed by rapid thermal processing (RTP). The UV-Vis spectrum reveals that the poly-Si appears for heat-treatment at 750℃ for 3 seconds. When the annealing time is increased until the critical point, at which the glass substrate bends, the crystalline fraction, as well as the quality of the poly-Si layer, improves. Raman spectroscopy confirms these results. The highest crystalline fraction is 96% for an annealing time of 5 minutes.

<P><I>Shigella sonnei</I> is a human-adapted pathogen that is emerging globally as the dominant agent of bacterial dysentery. To investigate local establishment, we sequenced the genomes of 263 Vietnamese <I>S. sonnei</I> isolated over 15 y. Our data show that <I>S. sonnei</I> was introduced into Vietnam in the 1980s and has undergone localized clonal expansion, punctuated by genomic fixation events through periodic selective sweeps. We uncover geographical spread, spatially restricted frontier populations, and convergent evolution through local gene pool sampling. This work provides a unique, high-resolution insight into the microevolution of a pioneering human pathogen during its establishment in a new host population.</P>

The significant increase in the number of retailers in Viet Nam indicates the potential of this market for both foreign corporation and domestic company. Mom – pop store is a kind of traditional retailer and currently, they face more difficult challenges in in the era of global economic integration. This paper aims to illustrate their challenges on the basis of retail market, consumer behavior and competitor analyses. Data was collected from author’s offices, retailer’s websites and online newspaper before being synthesized.
Factors Affecting Employees' Organizational Commitment in Foreign Direct Investment Enterprises
NGUYEN, Thi Viet Nga,DO, Thanh Quang,DINH, Cong Hoang Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.10
This study aims to develop a research framework to investigate the factors affecting organizational commitment among employees who are working in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) enterprises in Vietnam. The authors designed an online survey distributed to employees in FDI enterprises, collecting the data from 312 employees. All scales in this study are adopted from previous studies; tools employed include Cronbach's Alpha, Exploratory Factor Analysis, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to examine the internal consistency, reliability, dimensionality, and validity of each variable. Then, the structural equation modelling (SEM) was utilized in order to estimate path correlations between variables. Results indicate that the leadership style has the strongest effect on organizational commitment, followed by job satisfaction and working performance. Moreover, working performance and job satisfaction are also influenced by leadership style. However, there is no statistical evidence to show that job satisfaction has an impact on working performance. In addition, bootstrapping method is used to show the indirect effect of variables; results reveal that leadership style, though, does not have indirect effect on working performance via job satisfaction, but it indirectly affects organizational commitment throughout working performance. In other words, the study finds that working performance mediates the link between leadership style and organizational commitment.
