Characteristics of critical current and index n of Bi-2223/Ag tape up to 30 T at 4.2 K
Kim, Jung Ho,Joo, Jinho,Choi, Seyong,Nah, W.,Ha, Dong-Woo,Ha, Hong-Soo,Matsumoto, A.,Kumakura, H.,Koizumi, T.,Sugano, M.,Kiyoshi, T. IEEE 2005 IEEE transactions on applied superconductivity Vol.15 No.2
We fabricated 55-filament Bi-2223/Ag tape and evaluated the dependence of critical current (Ic) and index n in an external magnetic field up to 30 T at 4.2 K, in order to explore the possible application for a magnet in persistent current mode. Ic and index n were characterized as a function of temperature and the magnitude and orientation of the magnetic field by increasing and decreasing field. It was observed that Ic was dependent on the magnitude and orientation of the magnetic field. The Ic decreased exponentially as the field increased; in a parallel and increasing field, Ic was 128 A at 30 T, which is approximately 40% of the Ic in self-field. On the other hand, index n was not significantly dependent on the field up to 30 T, nor did it vary significantly on increasing or decreasing field; the n value in the range of 0.1∼1 μV/cm was 23.0±5.2 and 27.8±8.0 on increasing and decreasing field, respectively, in the range of 0∼30 T. In addition, we observed that local Ic and index n of a long length of tape (4.2 m) were dispersed over a wide range and that the variation of each of these two values with the position of the tape was similar, suggesting that these properties depend on the microstructural uniformity.
Pattern dynamics of spatial domains in three-trophic population model
이상희,박혁규,H. S. Wi,T. Matsumoto,전태수 한국물리학회 2004 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.44 No.32
We construct a mathematical model describing the spatio-temporal changes in spatial domains of three species in their mutual interactions. This three-trophic population model describes the general problem of food chain composed of prey (phytoplankton), predator (zoo-plankton), and superpredator (sh). Numerical measurements of the spatial correlation function of domain patterns of each species show a dynamic scaling behavior, where the characteristic length L(t) spatial domain increases with time, satisfying the power law of L(t) t. For the super-predator and the predator, there is a single growth exponent. In contrast for the prey there are two dierent growth regimes with two exponents.

We have studied the circularly polarized photoluminescence (PL) and reflectance properties of a series of ZnSe/ZnCdSe/ZnSe/ZnMnSe single quantum wells (SQWs) and ZnSe/ZnCdSe/ ZnSe/ZnCdMnSe /ZnSe coupled double quantum wells (DQWs). The degree of circular polarization of the exciton luminescence from the ZnCdSe non-magnetic semiconductor (NMS) well was studied as a function of the spacer layer thickness and the exciton energies in the NMS and the diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) regions. The polarization degree became larger as the spacer thickness became smaller. The polarization also depended on the excito n energies in the NMS and the DMS regions and became larger as the exciton energy in the nCdSe well became closer to that in the DMS layer or the DMS well.

Ga-doped zinc-oxide (GZO) films grown under various Ga/Zn supply ratios were carefully characterized by using Hall measurements and optical transmittance measurements to investigate the electrical and the optical properties of the GZO films on glass, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polycarbonate (PC) substrates. The resistivity of the GZO films grown at 290 ℃ on glass substrates ranged from 4 × 10-2 cm to 3 × 10-4 cm for Ga/Zn supply ratios from 0 % to 0.5 %. The growth of the GZO films at a low temperature of 90 ℃ was also performed on glass, PET, and PC substrates. When the Ga/Zn supply ratios were 0.05 - 0.1 %, the 90 ℃-grown GZO films on glass substrates showed resistivities similar to those of 290 ℃-grown GZO films. The 90 ℃-grown GZO films on PET and PC substrates showed resistivities of 1 × 10-3 cm and 4 × 10-4 cm, respectively. The Hall carrier density was 8 × 1020 cm-3, which was almost the same value as that of the 90 ℃-grown GZO films on glass substrates. The GZO films on PET and PC substrates also showed visible transparency as good as that of the GZO films on glass substrates, and the average transmittance in the visible region was higher than 85 %.

Ga-doped zinc-oxide (GZO) films grown at various Ga/Zn supply ratios were prepared on glass substrates by using plasma-assisted molecular beam deposition. The films were carefully characterized by using Hall, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements. At low Ga/Zn supply ratios, the carrier density systematically increased with increasing Ga/Zn supply ratio. However, a saturation of the carrier density near 4 − 6 × 1020 cm−3 was observed when the Ga/Zn supply ratio was in the range from 5 × 10−5 % to 0.5 %. From TEM observations, uniform crystal grains were observed to grow with low-angle tilt grain boundaries in GZO films with low doping. On the other hand, high-angle tilt grain boundaries were observed in the highly-doped GZO films. A detailed selected area electron diffraction (SAED) analysis revealed that such non-uniformity in the highly-doped GZO films appears during the initial growth stage.
Magnetic and Transport Properties of a New Caged Compound PrOs2Zn20
K. Wakiya,N. Nagasawa,K. T. Matsumoto,T. Onimaru,K. Umeo,T. Takabatake 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.62 No.12
The magnetic and transport properties of a Pr-encaged compound PrOs2Zn20 have been studiedby the electrical resistivity (T), magnetic susceptibility ρ(T), and specific heat C(T) measurementsdown to 2 K. The (T) and the C(T) show distinct anomalies at Ts = 87 K, which resemble theanomalies in the isostructural and isoelectronic compound PrRu2Zn20 with the structural phasetransition at Ts = 138 K. Above 50 K, the ρ(T) follows the Curie-Weiss law with the effectivemagnetic moment of 3.64 µB/f.u., which indicates the trivalent state of the Pr ion. The saturatedbehavior of ρ(T) below 5 K indicates the Van-Vleck paramagnetic state. Hence, the Pr3+ ion fallsin a nonmagnetic ground state under the crystalline electric field.
REANALYSIS OF THE NEAR-INFRARED EXTRAGALACTIC BACKGROUND LIGHT BASED ON THE<i>IRTS</i>OBSERVATIONS
Matsumoto, T.,Kim, M. G.,Pyo, J.,Tsumura, K. IOP Publishing 2015 The Astrophysical journal Vol.807 No.1
<P>We reanalyze data of the near-infrared background taken by IRTS using up-to-date observational results of zodiacal light (ZL), integrated star light, and diffuse Galactic light. We confirm the existence of residual isotropic emission, which is slightly lower but almost the same as previously reported. At wavelengths longer than 2 mu m, the result is fairly consistent with the recent observation with AKARI. We also perform the same analysis using a different ZL model by Wright and detect residual isotropic emission that is slightly lower than that based on the original Kelsall model. Both models show residual isotropic emission that is significantly brighter than the integrated light of galaxies.</P>
