Adopting Internet of Things (IoT)-based technologies in smart homes helps users analyze home applianceselectricity consumption for better overall cost monitoring. The IoT application like smart home system (SHS)could suffer from large missing values gaps due to several factors such as security attacks, sensor faults, orconnection errors. In this paper, a novel framework has been proposed to predict large gaps of missing valuesfrom the SHS home appliances electricity consumption time-series datasets. The framework follows a series ofsteps to detect, predict and reconstruct the input time-series datasets of missing values. A hybrid convolutionalneural network-long short term memory (CNN-LSTM) neural network used to forecast large missing valuesgaps. A comparative experiment has been conducted to evaluate the performance of hybrid CNN-LSTM withits single variant CNN and LSTM in forecasting missing values. The experimental results indicate a performancesuperiority of the CNN-LSTM model over the single CNN and LSTM neural networks.

Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450s)are ubiquitous heme-thiolate proteins that have potentialbiotechnological application. Thermostable-P450s that canwithstand hostile industrial conditions, such as high temperatures,extremes of pH and organic solvents, are neededfor biotechnological usage. Here, for the first time, wereport a large number of thermostable-P450s from twothermophilic biomass-degrading fungi, Myceliophthorathermophila and Thielavia terrestris. Genome-wide P450analysis revealed the presence of 79 and 70 P450s(P450ome) in T. terrestris and M. thermophila. AuthenticP450s containing both the P450 signature domains (EXXRand CXG) were classified as follows: T. terrestris (50families and 56 subfamilies) and M. thermophila (49families and 53 subfamilies). Bioinformatics analysis ofP450omes suggested the presence of a large number ofthermostable-P450s. Based on aliphatic index cut-off([90), 14 and 11 P450s were determined to be thermostablein T. terrestris and M. thermophila. Among thethermostable P450s, six P450s from T. terrestris and threefrom M. thermophila had a melting temperature (Tm) of[65 C, suggesting their hyperthermal tolerance. Analysisof the instability index of two ascomycete P450omesrevealed the presence of 12 and 19 in vitro stable P450s inT. terrestris and M. thermophila. Overall, six P450s fromT. terrestris and four from M. thermophila showed boththermal tolerance and in vitro stability. Thermophilicascomycetes P450s are of potential interest from a structural,mechanistic and biotechnological point of view, asfive P450s showed higher thermal tolerance and fiveshowed higher in vitro stability compared to the wellcharacterizedthermostable-P450s CYP175A1 (bacteria)and CYP119 (archaea).

Background: The current study was designed to investigate the effect of supplementation of Flaxseed (Linumusitatisimum) oil on libido and semen quality of Nilli-Ravi buffalo bulls. Methods: In this study, 12 adult healthy bulls kept at the Semen Production Unit, Qadirabad district Sahiwal, were used. These bulls were divided into three equal groups, A, B and C. Group A was kept as control, while in groups B and C supplementation of feed was provided by using flaxseed oil @125 ml/day and 250 ml/day,respectively for 12 weeks. Two ejaculates per animal were collected at 0 day then 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th week of treatment. In this way a total 216 samples were taken, and each semen sample was evaluated for color, volume, mass activity, percent motility, sperm cell concentration per ml, percentage of live sperm, and plasma membrane integrity. Libido of bulls was also evaluated before every collection. Results: Analysis of data revealed that these parameters were significantly (P < 0.01) increased in flax oil treated animals as compared to control. Conclusion: It was concluded from the present study that flax seed oil has beneficial effects on reproductive health of buffalo bull.
The XRCC1 Arg399Gln Gene Polymorphism and Risk of Colorectal Cancer: a Study in Kashmir

Background: The DNA repair gene XRCC1 Arg399Gln gene polymorphism has been found to be implicated in the development of various cancers, including colorectal cancer (CRC), in different populations. We aimed to determine any association of this polymorphism with the risk of CRC in Kashmir. Materials and Methods: A total of 120 confirmed cases of CRC and 146 healthy cancer free controls from the Kashmiri population were included in this study. Genotyping was carried out by the polymerase chain reaction- restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. Results: Genotype frequencies of XRCC1 Arg399Gln observed in controls were 34.2%, 42.5% and 23.3% for GG (Arg/Arg), GA (Arg/Gln), AA( Gln/Gln), respectively, and 28.3%, 66.7% and 5% in cases, with an odds ratio (OR)=5.7 and 95% confidence interval (CI) =2.3-14.1 (p=0.0001). No significant association of Arg399Gln SNP with any clinicopathological parameters of CRC was found. Conclusions: We found the protective role of 399Gln allele against risk to the development of CRC. The XRCC1 heterozygote status appears to be a strong risk factor for CRC development in the Kashmiri population.
