Objectives: This study investigated quality among three herb medicine extract granules(DSGOST) which were made from different companies to check quality control of herb medicine extract granules. Methods: we selected three DSGOST extract granules which were made from different companies. And we experimented extract granules by method from K.P(Korean Pharmacopoeia), K.H.P(Korean Herbal Pharmacopoeia) of KFDA. Results: In qualitative analysis of DSGOST, we indentified Akebiae Caulis (木通), Asari Herba Cum Radix (細辛), Evodiae Fructus (吳茱萸) in three different DSGOST extract granules. In quantitative analysis of DSGOST, Medication A,B,C contained similar content of Paeoniflorin & Glycyrrhizic acid. However Medication B contains especially lowest value of Cinnamic acid & total Decursin. Conclusions: Herb medicine extract granules have different contents of ingredients although those were made by same prescription. And these differences may influence medicinal effect to patients. So we need to make system of quality control with various research of quantitative & qualitative analysis about herb medicine extract granules.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Functional analysis of genes from <I>Saccharomyces cerevisiae</I> has been the major goal after determination of genome sequences. Even though several tools for molecular-genetic analyses have been developed, only a limited number of reliable genetic tools are available to support functional assay at protein level. Epitope tagging is a powerful tool for detecting, purifying, and functional studying of proteins. But systematic tagging systems developed with integration vectors are not available. Here, we have constructed a set of integration vectors allowing a translational fusion of interested proteins to the four different epitope tags (HA, Myc, Flag, and GFP). To confirm function and expression of C-terminal-tagged proteins, we used Cdc11, a component of the septin filament that encircles the mother bud neck and consists of five major proteins: Cdc3, Cdc10, Cdc11, Cdc12, and Sep7. The tagged version of Cdc11 expressed under its endogenous promoter was found to be physiologically functional, as evidenced by localization at the neck and suppression of the growth defect associated with the temperature-sensitive mutation of <I>cdc11-6</I>. The expressed proteins were efficiently detected with antibodies against Cdc11 or the epitopes. When immunoprecipitated with anti-Myc antibody, each septin protein tagged with Myc was effectively copurified with other septin components, indicating formation of a stable septin complex. Because the modules of the tags were located under the same array of eighteen restriction sites on integration vectors containing four different markers (<I>HIS3</I>, <I>TRP1</I>, <I>LEU2</I>, or <I>URA3</I>), this tagging system provides efficient multiple tagging and stable expression of a gene of interest.</P>

Background: This study is aimed to investigate the effect of tramadol on the bispectral index (BIS) during anesthesia with desflurane. Methods: One hundred fifty adults, ASA class 1 and 2 patients, scheduled for general anesthesia for elective surgical procedures were included in this study. None of the patients were premedicated and anesthesia was induced with propofol 2 mg/kg and maintained with air-oxygen (FiO2 0.5) and desflurane, adjusted to keep the BIS between from 50 and 60. Forty minutes before completing surgery, the subjects were randomly allocated into 3 groups to receive saline (control group), tramadol 1.5 mg/kg (T1 group) or 3.0 mg/kg (T2 group) intravenously. Hemodynamics and BIS values were then recorded every 5 minutes until completion of the operation, during which time the concentrations of desflurane were not modified. Results: The mean BIS values after tramadol administration weren`t significantly different from the control group throughout the period of observation. No significant changes in the hemodynamics were noted, except systolic and diastolic arterial blood pressure in the T1 and T2 groups significantly increased in the first 5 minutes after the tramadol injection. Conclusions: The results indicate that the administration of tramadol while maintaining anesthesia with desflurane, adjusted to keep the BIS between 50 and 60, does not modified BIS values. So, we propose that tramadol can be safely administered as an immediate postoperative analgesia without concern about intra-operative awareness. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2009;56:375~80)

Influence of cement thickness on resin-zirconia microtensile bond strength
Tae-Hoon Lee,Jin-Soo Ahn,June-Sung Shim,Chong-Hyun Han,Sun-Jai Kim 대한치과보철학회 2011 The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics Vol.3 No.3
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of resin cement thickness on the microtensile bond strength between zirconium-oxide ceramic and resin cement. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-two freshly extracted molars were transversely sectioned at the deep dentin level and bonded to air-abraded zirconium oxide ceramic disks. The specimens were divided into 8 groups based on the experimental conditions (cement type: Rely X UniCem or Panavia F 2.0, cement thickness: 40 or 160 µm, storage: thermocycled or not). They were cut into microbeams and stored in 37℃ distilled water for 24 h. Microbeams of non-thermocycled specimens were submitted to a microtensile test, whereas those of thermocycled groups were thermally cycled for 18,000 times immediately before the microtensile test. Three-way ANOVA and Sheffe's post hoc tests were used for statistical analysis (α=95%). RESULTS All failures occurred at the resin-zirconia interface. Thermocycled groups showed lower microtensile bond strength than non-thermocycled groups (P<.001). Differences in cement thickness did not influence the resin-zirconia microtensile bond strength given the same resin cement or storage conditions (P>.05). The number of adhesive failures increased after thermocycling in all experimental conditions. No cohesive failure was observed in any experimental group. CONCLUSION When resin cements of adhesive monomers are applied over air-abraded zirconia restorations, the degree of fit does not influence the resin-zirconia microtensile bond strength.
Neuroendocrine Tumors of the Lung: Clinical, Pathologic, and Imaging Findings
Chong, Semin,Lee, Kyung Soo,Chung, Myung Jin,Han, Joungho,Kwon, O Jung,Kim, Tae Sung Radiological Society of North America 2006 Radiographics Vol.26 No.1
<P>Neuroendocrine tumors of the lung arise from Kulchitzky cells of the bronchial mucosa and comprise typical carcinoid, atypical carcinoid, large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC), and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). At histopathologic analysis, these tumors demonstrate a progressive increase in the number of mitotic figures per 10 high-power fields of viable tumor and in the extent of necrosis, with typical carcinoid having the lowest values and SCLC having the highest. Typical carcinoid is less aggressive than atypical carcinoid, although these tumors have similar gross pathologic and radiologic features; LCNEC has a prognosis between that of atypical carcinoid and that of SCLC. SCLC is the most aggressive pulmonary neuroendocrine tumor and has the most specific imaging feature: mediastinal or hilar lymphadenopathy. At CT, carcinoid tumors appear as a spherical or ovoid nodule or mass with a well-defined and slightly lobulated border. When nonspherical, the tumor is elongated with its long axis parallel to adjacent bronchi. Calcification or ossification is seen in up to 30% of cases. The CT findings of LCNEC are nonspecific and are similar to those of other non-small cell lung cancers. Although there are some overlapping features between these tumors, integration of the clinical and imaging features may be helpful in differentiation of pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors.</P>
