The purpose of this study was to describe the spiritual well-being of nursing students to provide a basic data for the development the curriculum of Spiritual Nursing Care in nursing collages. The subjects for this study were consist of 58 nursing students in K University of Pusan city in Korea. All of them were educated about Spiritual Nursing Care for 100 minutes in a week, during totally 8 weeks in one semester. The data were collected during 7days from July 11 to July 18,2004 by using structured questionnaire method. The measurement of the spiritual well-being was performed with 6 points-index which is composed of 21 items and is modified by Sang-Soon Choi(1990)from Palau tzian & Ellison(1983) s. Its high score means that the degree of spiritual well-being of the subject is high. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 10.1 program according to the purpose of this study. The general characteristics of the subjects were analyzed by calculating the real quantity and the percentage, and the spiritual well-being scores were identified through calculating the mean value of individual domain. The significant difference of the general characteristics with the spiritual well-being was analyzed by t-test and ANOVA, Scheffe s test. The results of this study were as follow; 1.The spiritual well-being of the subjects The average value for the spiritual well-being of the subjects was 97.78(SD=±10.53) among the possible ranges of 21-126. The mean value of all items was 4.66(SD=±0.502) and high relatively. 2. The spiritual well-being according to general characteristics of subjects The analysis of the spiritual well-being according to general characteristics of the subjects showed statistically significant difference on the degree of life satisfaction in faith(F=4.327, P= .004),the degree of recognition about God s initiation in their daily life(F=3.933, P= .013),the degree of satisfaction about Nursing as their major(F=6.608, P= .000), their assurance of salvation(t=4.557,P= .037). among the personal religious actions, praising(F=3.32,p= .017), The group of nursing students responded that they were satisfied in their faith life, always God has the initiative in their daily lives personally, they were satisfied about Nursing as their major very much, and they have their assurance of salvation showed the highest degree of the spiritual well-being than any other group. In conclusion, in this study we observed that the spiritual well-being of nursing students was high relatively. The general characteristics of subjects were related to the spiritual well-being of them were the degree of satisfaction in their faith lives, their recognition about God s initiation in their daily life, their satisfaction about Nursing as their major, among the personal religious actions, regular praising and their assurance of salvation. Yongneup wetland protected area, the only high moor in Korea, is a core area to conserve biodiversity. Even though the Yongneup wetland protected area is relatively small, various plant species are distributed in the Yongneup wetland protected area because it includes various habitats showing different environmental gradients. Vascular plants distributed in the Yongneup wetland protected area were identified as a total of 376 taxa that is composed of 73 families, 217 genera, 322 species, 3 subspecies, 44 varieties and 7 forms. For endangered plants designated by the Ministry of Environment, 5 species including Trientalis europaea var. arctica, Lilium dauricum, Halenia corniculata, Lychnis wilfordii and Menyanthes trifoliata were found and 34 taxa were confirmed to be distributed only in the mountainous wetland habitats. Regarding naturalized plants, a total of 11 taxa were distributed, but most of them were distributed in the areas where artificial interference has occurred. And in areas inside the wetlands that are relatively well preserved, 2 species of Bidens frondosa and Erigeron annuus were observed. In this study, the occurrence and distribution of Pseudostellaria baekdusanensis M. Kim, which was recently found in Mt. Baekdu and reported as a new species, were identified in the Yongneup wetland protected area. A wetland is a very vulnerable area to drastic environmental changes and damages to its ecosystem could cause the extinction of rare plant species which are distributed only in the wetlands. Therefore, it is mandatory that current status of the Yongneup wetland protected area is evaluated and actions to prevent rapid environmental changes are taken. Fourteen separate investigations were conducted in 2013 and another four in 2014, to evaluate current status of the Yongneup wetland protected area. These investigations have provided us the basic information for future actions of conservation and restoration.

<P> Interactions among dexamethasone, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and antimycin A on the glutamate uptake and the polyamine uptake were investigated in primary cultures of rat cerebral cortical astrocytes to examine the effects of dexamethasone and DHEA on the regulatory role of astrocytes in conditions of increased extracellular concentrations of glutamate or polyamines. 1. [3H]Glutamate uptake: LPS and antimycin A decreased <I>V</I>max, but both drugs had little effect on <I>K</I>m. Dexamethasone also decreased basal <I>V</I>max without any significant effect on <I>K</I>m. And dexamethasone further decreased the antimycin A-induced decrease of <I>V</I>max. DHEA did not affect the kinetics of basal glutamate uptake and the change by LPS or antimycin A. 2. [14C]Putrescine uptake: LPS increased <I>V</I>max, and antimycin A decreased <I>V</I>max. They showed little effect on <I>K</I>m. Dexamethasone decreased <I>V</I>max of basal uptake and further decreased the antimycin A-induced decrease of <I>V</I>max, and also decreased <I>V</I>max to less than control in LPS-treated astrocytes. DHEA did not affect <I>K</I>m and the change of <I>V</I>max by LPS or antimycin A. 3. [14C]Spermine uptake: Antimycin A decreased <I>V</I>max, and LPS might increase <I>V</I>max. <I>K</I>m was little affected by the drugs. Dexamethasone decreased basal <I>V</I>max and might further decrease the antimycin A-induced decrease of <I>V</I>max. And dexamethasone also decreased <I>V</I>max to less than control in LPS-treated astrocytes. DHEA might increase basal <I>V</I>max and <I>V</I>max of LPS-treated astrocytes. 4. <I>V</I>max of glutamate uptake by astrocytes was increased by putrescine (1000 μM & 2000 μM) and spermidine (200 μM, 500 μM & 2000 μM). Spermine, 200 μM (and 100 μM), also increased <I>V</I>max, but a higher dose of 2000 μM decreased <I>V</I>max. <I>K</I>m of glutamate uptake was not significantly changed by these polyamines, except that higher doses of spermine showed tendency to decrease <I>K</I>m of glutamate uptake. In astrocytes, dexamethasone inhibited the glutamate uptake and the polyamine uptake in normal or hypoxic conditions, and the polyamine uptake might be stimulated by LPS and DHEA. Polyamines could aid astrocytes to uptake glutamate.

Purpose: This study compares beneficiaries of Korean Medicaid with those under the National Health Insurance program, seeking to understand how each group utilizes their healthcare. Methods: Data were obtained from a Health Promotion Survey in 2005. Health status was measured by the respondents’ perception of health. Health service utilization included the availability of healthcare services, the type of healthcare institution, and intent to revisit. Predisposing and enabling factors, as well as health care needs were used for this study. Results: Compared to National Health Insurance beneficiaries, Medicaid beneficiaries reported lower levels of health status and fewer enabling factors. They had more chronic diseases and disabilities. Education level, existence of chronic diseases, exercise patterns, and disabilities were associated with health status. Conclusion: We found that Medicaid beneficiaries had fewer resources and higher levels of health needs. As Medicaid is reformed, policy makers and administrators should understand healthcare utilization behaviors of Medicaid beneficiaries and the factors hindering access to care.

Choi, Young-Sook,Lee, Sung-Tae,Cho, Myung-Hwan The Microbiological Society of Korea 1996 The journal of microbiology Vol.34 No.4
Cryptosporidium parvum causes a life-threatening diarrhea in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients. THe sporozoite stage of C. parvum has been known to be a target in treating cryptosporidiosis in AIDS patients as it is an extracellular stage. A sporozoite was ultrastructurally observed. It has a creascent shape with a rounded posterior end and a tapering body. The compact nucleus was located at the posterior end. A monoclonal antibody was produced, which recognized a 43 kDa of sporozoite antigens in a western blot analysis and showed the surface labeling in immunofluorescence.

In recent years, large volumes of data are transferred between a computer system and various subsystems through digital logic circuits and interconnected wires. And there always exist potential errors when data are transferred due to electrical noise, device malfunction, or even timing errors. In general, parity checking circuits are usually employed for detection of single-bit errors. However, it is not sufficient to enhance system reliability and availability for efficient error detection. It is necessary to detect and further correct errors up to a certain level within the affordable cost. In this paper, we report a generation of 3-distance code using the characteristic matrix of a PBCA.
