Glover’s formula corresponds to the theory and practice in the underdrainage. Dr. Yamasaki Hujio calculated a value of k exactly, but made a mistake to caiculate a value of v. The result of mistaking which resolved to apply a value of v has been brought a phenomenon that the water go not down into the underground, conversely going up as many as 20.84cm. 2. If it is exchanged into the unit time (v=0.06, k=1.4×10 exp (-4)cm/s k/v=0.084, α=0.21), the unit time which Dr. Hukuda Hidosi apply, agree with the unit day that Dr. Yamasaki Hujio apply 3. The value of y^0 which Hukuda Hidosi resolved is 0.5m. If so, ti is unnecessary to underdrain. If the value of y^0 is 0.5m, there is no wet detriment to cultivate crops potato, cucumber, barley. 4. If the value of y^0 is 0.5m, it must be proved that the value of k/v is 0.1.

We report a case of twenty-nail dystrophy accompanied by alopecia universalis in a 45-year old woman. She had developed dystrophic nail changes on her all finger and toe nails for 26 years and alopecia universalis for 10 years. On examination, 20 nails were affectedwith opalescent, thickening, longitudinal ridging, and total hair loss were in scalp, eyebrow, axilla, and pubic area. Mycologic study of involved nails was performed, but negative results were obtained. Histologic findings of dystrophic nails revealed prominent hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, and mild infiltration of mononucler cells in the upper dermis. The histologic findings of scalp showed a few atrophic hair follicle, thining of epidermis, and slightly hyperkeratosis. All of these clinical and histologic findings were considered as twenty-nail dystrophy accompanied by alopecia universalis. She was treated with intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide and topical application of dinitrochlorobenzene, but no significant improvement was made. The further observation is being conducted.

<P>Tin monoxide (SnO) is one of the most promising anode materials for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries owing to its high capacity. However, Tin and Tin oxide anodes in battery system have a poor cycling stability due to the large volume change (>300% in lithium-ion battery and 420% in sodium-ion battery) upon charge/discharge processes. To solve the problems caused by the large volume change, Sn and core-shell structured Sn/SnO nanoparticles are prepared using the pulsed wire evaporation (PWE) method, and subsequently cautious oxidation heat treatment. The Sn and core-shell structured Sn/SnO nanoparticles as anode materials are applied in lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery. The stability of the core-shell structured Sn/SnO electrode in repeated discharge/charge cycling was higher than that of Sn electrode in lithium-ion battery.</P>

Production of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) using a plant platform has been considered an alternative to the mammalian cell-based production system. A plant-derived mAb CO17-1AK ($mAb^P$ COK) can specifically bind to various types of cancer cell lines. The target protein of $mAb^P$ COK is the epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) highly expressed in human epithelial cancer cells, including breast and colorectal cancer cells. It has been hypothesized that its overexpression supports tumor growth and metastasis. A ganglioside is extended well beyond the surfaces of the various cell membranes and has roles in cell growth, inflammation, differentiation, and carcinogenesis. However, the regulation of EpCAM gene expression in breast cancers and the role of gangliosides in oncogenesis are unclear. Here, the purpose of this study was to determine the effects of $mAb^P$ COK on human breast cancer cell proliferation, apoptosis, and ganglioside expression patterns. Our results show that treatment with $mAb^P$ COK suppressed the growth of breast cancer cells and induced apoptotic cell death. It also upregulated the expression of metastasis-related gangliosides in breast cancer cells. Thus, treatment with $mAb^P$ COK may have chemo-preventive therapeutic effects against human breast cancer.
