        겹침이음실험을 통한 삼중나노소재 혼입 철근콘크리트보의 부착성능에 대한 실험적 고찰

        This study aims to assess the impact of combining triple hybrid reinforced concrete with carbon nanotubes, nanosilica, and graphene oxide on bond strength. The mechanical properties of these materials were evaluated through material testing and assessed bond strength via lap-splice experiments. The material testing revealed that nano-reinforced concrete had a slight increase in compressive strength compared to regular concrete but showed a significant improvement in splitting tensile strength. It also exhibited decreased volumetric strain and Poissons ratio. To understand if these mechanical properties influenced bond strength, laboratory splice experiments were conducted using eight reinforced concrete specimens, varying splice length and cover thickness. The results of the lap-splice experiment showed variations in bond strength depending on the inclusion of nanomaterials in the mixture, with varying increases in bond strength as splice strength changed. This suggests that the combination of these triple nanomaterials does impact the bond performance of concrete.

      • Chlorophyllin attenuates IFN-γ expression in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated murine splenidc mononuclear cells via suppressing IL-12 production

        Chlorophyllin (CHL) is a chlorophyll derivative with anticarcinogen and antioxidant activities. Despite clinical importance of CHL as a potential therapeutics for treating cancer patients, little is known about the immunological properties of CHL. In the present study, we investigated the effect of CHL on the activation of murine splenocytes stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). RT-PCR analysis showed that LPS-activated IFN-γ expression gradually declined by CHL treatment in a dose dependent manner while mRNA production of TNF-α, IL-2, and FasL was not changed. CHL also suppressed IL-12 production (p70, a heterodimer of p40 and p35) and the mRNA expression of IL-12 p40 and IL-12 receptors (both IL-12Rβ1 and IL-12Rβ2), which are involved in the induction of IFN-γ expression. Furthemore, an electrophoretic mobility shift assay showed that CHL inhibited DNA binding activity of NF-кB, STAT-3, and STAT-4 to their cognate DNA recognition motifs, all of which contribute to the IL-12-induced IFN-γ transcription. Exogenous addition of recombinant IL-12 abrogated the inhibitory effect of CHL on IFN-γ and its mRNA expression in LPS-activated splenocytes. Collectively, these results show that CHL inhibits IFN-γ production by LPS-stimulated splenic mononuclear cells due to down-regulation of IL-12 production. © 2005 Published by Elsevier B.V.

      • Acupuncture Treatment about Medial Meniscus Posterior Horn Rupture : A Case Report

        Objectives : In this case, the knee joint inconvenience with deteriorating pain has been relieved by acupuncture treatment for a patient was 51-year-old male with a left medial meniscal posterior horn rupture in 2012. Methods : Twenty-four times of acupuncture treatments were performed for Twelve weeks from July 2016 to improve the disease. SP8(Jigi; 地機), BL63(Geummun; 金門), KI3(Taegye; 太谿), LI4(Hapgok; 合谷) were chosen for treatment by principles of Traditional Korean Medicine. Results : Numeric Rating Scales, which means subjective pain, decreased from 6 points to 3 points out of 10 points in total. Pressure Pain Threshold, which means sensitivity to pressure applied to the affected area, increased from 21N to 47N on the lateral-inferior side and from 19N to 50N on the lateral side. K-WOMAC, which indicates discomfort of knee-related activity, was 56 points out of 96 points in total before treatment and 4 points after treatment, 13 points after two years, and 15 points after four years. However, MRI tests conducted before and after treatment did not identify any significant changes. As a result, we confirmed that a total of 24 acupuncture treatments had resulted in the relief objective and subjective pain and functional recovery, especially in the case of the knee function, maintained until after four years later. There was no significant substrate recovery in meniscal rupture.

        암의 종류 및 증상에 따른 삶의 질 평가 척도에 관한 연구 현황 분석

        Objectives : The objective of this study is to analyze what quality of life(QOL) scales are frequently used in cancer patients and lay a cornerstone to develop new QOL scales adequate for oriental medical anti-cancer treatment in the future. Methods : We searched 151 articles concerned with 'QOL and scale and cancer' from PubMed and classified them according to periods. nations. cancer types and symptoms. Results: 138 articles(91%) were published after 1996. 65 articles(43%) were published in USA. For breast. lung, prostate. esophageal cancer and melanoma. European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer-quiality of life questionaire(EORTC-QLQ) was used most frequently to evaluate quality of life. Functional Assessment of Cancer Treatment(FACT) for bladder cancer. Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS) for colorectal cancer and of Washington Quality of Life questionnaire(UW-QOL) for Head & Neck cancer were used repeatedly. And for the patients with the symptoms such as bone marrow depression. depression. pain. dyspnea. nausea & vomiting and voice change. the investigators used EORTC-QLQ mainly to evaluate QOL. FACT-An(anemia) for anemia. FACT-BMT(bone marrow transplant) for bone marrow depression were applicated generally. Conclusions It is anticipated that further investigations will be performed to develop adequate QOL scales for oriental medical anti-cancer therapy.

        Safety of a Traditional Korean Medicine, Cheonggan extracts (CGX): A 2-week Single-dose Toxicity Study in SD Rats and Beagle Dogs

        Objectives: To evaluate the acute toxic effects and approximate lethal dose of Cheonggan extracts (CGX) in SD rats and beagle dogs. Methods: Male and female rats were divided into 4 groups (Control, CGX 1250, CGX 2500, CGX 5000) respectively and male and female dogs were divided into two groups respectively (Control, CGX 5000) respectively. A single oral dose of CGX was treated to the rats and dogs. Mortality, signs of gross toxicity, and behavioral changes were observed over 14 days. All animals were observed every hour for 4 hours after administration and once a day thereafter for 14 days. Body weights were determined at $0_{th}$, $7_{th}$, and $14_{th}$ days. All surviving animals were sacrificed and necrotized. Major organs were inspected visually for gross findings. Results: No animals died in any of the groups during the experimental period (2 weeks), rats or dogs. Body weights of rats and dogs during the experiment continuously increased in all groups but there was no significant change. No abnormal clinical signs were observed for 2 weeks after a single administration of CGX in any dose group of CGX, rats or dogs. No abnormal findings in major organs were observed in any group of rats or dogs. Conclusion: CGX does not have acute toxic effects in rats or dogs. Therefore, an approximate lethal dose is assumed to exceed 5000 mg/kg in both rats and dogs.

        Minireview for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and its Medical Attention recently

        Objectives: Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a debilitating illness impairing seriously quality of life, while CFS would be an optimized target disorder of Korean medicine. This study aims to present the recent information especially in aspect of medical policy and new diagnosis criteria for CFS. Methods: The literature survey was conducted using the terms of "chronic fatigue syndrome", "myalgic encephalomyelitis" and "fibromyalgia" in PubMed database and Google database in its entirety from January 2011 to February 2019. The in-depth review was made focusing on the changes in policy and medical perspective for CFS. Results: Recently large medical attentions and researches for CFS have been existed worldwide. By supporting of USA government, IOM made a report which leaded to a turning point in clinical practices and research in 2015. This report recommended a new name of CFS to systemic exertion intolerance disease (SEID), and new diagnostic criteria focusing on post-exertional malaise, unrefreshing sleep, cognitive impairment and orthostatic intolerance. The medical perspective also was changed into "a serious, chronic, complex, systemic disease" from a psychological-like disorder, and then UAS and EU governments sharply increased the research grants. Conclusions: This study provided practitioners in Korean medicine (KM) a core information about the recent changes in CFS-related perspectives. This review would be helpful for KM-derived researches or therapeutics development for CFS.

        Herbal Transformation by Fermentation

        We herein show a dramatic change of herbal properties of the composition as well as function via fermentation of Cynanchi atrati Radix (family Asclepiadaceae). Cynanchi atrati Radix showed a high cytotoxicity against B16-F10 melanoma cell line, but the function of Cynanchi atrati Radix was completely changed into anti-melanin activity at very low concentration after Lactobacillus -fermentation. In addition, the compounds were drastically changed as shown in HPLC-based profile. Furthermore, this transformation has been achieved by only Lactobacillus -fermentation. This study proposes an strategy which we need to consider in the herb-derived material researches including pharmacopuncture.
