Actinobacteria are prolific producers of a large number of natural products with diverse biological activities. In the present study, an actinobacterium isolated from sunflower rhizosphere soil sample collected from Medak, Andhra Pradesh, South India was identified as Amycolatopsis thermoflava strain SFMA-103. A pigmented secondary metabolite in culture broth was extracted by using methanol and it was further purified by silica gel column chromatography with methanol-chloroform solvent system. Structural elucidation studies based on UV-visible, 1D and 2D-NMR, FT-IR, and mass spectroscopic analyses confirmed the structure as 1-methoxy-3-methyl-8-hydroxy-anthraquinone. It showed significant in vitro anticancer activity against lung cancer and lymphoblastic leukemia cells with IC<sub>50</sub> values of 10.3 and 16.98 μM, respectively. In addition, 1-methoxy-3-methyl-8-hydroxy-anthraquinone showed good free radical scavenging activity by DPPH method with an EC<sub>50</sub> of 18.2 μg/ml. It also showed other promising superoxide radical scavenging, nitric oxide radical scavenging and inhibition of lipid peroxidation activities. This is a first report of antiproliferative and antioxidant activities of 1-methoxy-3-methyl-8-hydroxy-anthraquinone isolated from A. thermoflava strain SFMA-103 which may find potential application in biotechnological and pharmaceutical fields.

antitumor activity of crude saponin mixture obtained from Luffa tuberosa (Roxb.) (Fam;Cucurbitaceae) hairy roots (CSLT) in mice transplanted with Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) was investigated.elevation in tumor-free survival and a highest number of survivors were observed after administration of CSLT(300 .g/kg), which was considered as an optimum dose for its antineoplastic action. The mean survival time(MST) for this dose was approximately 47.1± 0.74 d, when compared with 19.0± 0.36 d of untreated control.Administration of 30 .g/kg CSLT resulted in 130% long-term increased survival time. The measurement ofbody weight, tumor volume, packed cell volume, viable and non-viable count indicated the efficacy of CSLT intumor-bearing mice, there was a significant recovery in hematological profiles, and there was depletion in lipidnormal levels. The CSLT was found to be devoid of conspicuous short-term toxicity in the mice when animalswere intraperitoneally injected with 250, 500, 750 and 1000 .g/kg bodyweight. The treated mice showedconspicuous toxic symptoms only at a dose of 1500 .g/kg. Mortality of the animals was monitored up to 14 dpost drug treatment, 1/7th of the LD50 dose has been considered for the optimal antineoplastic activity.KeywordsLuffa tuberosa (Roxb.) unripe whole fruits of Luffa tuberosa (Roxb.) or Momordica tuberosa (Roxb) Cogn.(Cucurbitaceae) were evaluated for the antidiabetic and hyperlipidemic potential in streptozotocin (STZ) induceddiabetic rats. Diabetes was induced by administration of intra-peritoneal injection of streptozotocin at a dose of55 mg/kg body weight. After the induction of diabetes aqueous extract of L.tuberosa (AELT) was administeredorally at doses of 250 and 500 mg/kg. body weight/day for a period of 14 days. The Fasting blood glucose (FBG)levels, serum insulin levels, changes in body weight, food and liquid intake were measured. In diabetic rats, theAELT exhibited significant reduction in blood glucose levels. Biochemical assay of plasma total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDLc), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDLc),after the extract supplementation was confirmed by significant reduction in the levels of above mentionedhyperlipidemic indicators. The goal of this paper is to review the advantages and disadvantages of the various treatment options of temporomandibularjoint (TMJ) total joint replacement (TJR). TMJ articles published within the last 20 years were reviewed to collect the informationon non-invasive and invasive TMD treatment methods. Recent technological advancements helped the evolution oftreatment methods and off ered signifi cant value to TMD patients and surgeons. Considering the TMD levels, the therapeuticprocedures can involve general health examiniations, physical therapy, medication, oral rehabilation or as an end stage clinicalinvention, temporomandibular joint replacement. In fact when intra-articular TMD is present, the eff ective treatmentmethod appears to be TJR. However, concern for infection, material hypersensitivity, device longevity and screws looseningissues still exists. Further combined research utilizing the knowledge and expertise of, surgeons, material scientists, andbioengineers is needed for the development of improved TMD therapeutic treatment.

The Ti6Al4V alloy was difficult to cut material because of its inherent properties, however greater application in extremeoperating conditions; hence, the impact of machining parameters on nanoparticle diffused cutting fluids study was essential. The aim of this work was to examine the impact of alumina (Al2O3) nano-diffused cutting fluids under the minimal quantitylubrication (MQL) approach in the milling process on Ti6Al4V Alloy. Nano-based cutting fluid was prepared in unique weightpercentage concentrations of 0%, 1%, and 2% of nanoparticles with base fluid. The experiments were conducted to analysethe effect of spindle speed, cutting feed and axial cutting depth on the concentration of nanoparticles using the face-centredcomposite design (CCD) on cutting tool temperature (Ct) and surface roughness (Ra). The results revealed that Aluminananofluid minimizes the Cutting tool temperature and enhances the surface roughness (Ra). The responses were optimizedusing the desirability function based analysis (DFA) for nano based cutting fluids. The optimal process parameters of theAl2O3 nanofluid weight percentage concentration of nanoparticles were (2%), cutting feed (0.142 mm/rev), spindle speed(104 m/min) and DOC (0.5 mm).

Let Ø be the Euler’s totient function and Ø* be its unitary analogue. For any integer M ≥ 1, let SM = {n ∈ N :MØ(n) = n − 1} and S*M = {n ∈ N : MØ*(n) = n − 1}. If n ∈ S*M with M ≥ 4, we obtain lower bounds for n and ω(n) ( the number of distinct prime factors of n) which significantly improve those given in [1] and [5] for n in SM and S*M respectively.

Let ' denote the Euler’'s totient function. For any positive integer n, if (n) denotes the sum of all its positive divisors, and Rk = {n : '(n)(n) + 1 = kn} for k = 1, 2, 3, ... and R =1[k=1Rk it has been proved in [3] that every composite integer n 2 R if it exists, has at least three distinct odd prime factors. In this note we improve this result for n 2 Rk in the cases (a) 5 | n and k 336 and (b) 5 - n and k 672. Also we give lower bounds for n in both the cases.

In the enduring investigation of the bioactive microbes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain (referred to as CGK-KS-1 (ICTB-315)), isolated from Chumathang hot spring, Ladakh, and India, was identified to possess a major bioactive fraction with antimicrobial and anti-biofilm properties. This bioactive metabolite was purified through bioactivity-guided fractionation. The chemical structure of this major compound was elucidated as phenazine-1-carboxamide (PCN) based on <sup>1</sup>H and <sup>13</sup>C NMR, FT-IR, EI-HR-MS and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques. In the current study, PCN exhibited antimicrobial activity with MIC values ranging between 1.9-3.9 μg/ml against various test human pathogens and Xanthomonas spp. PCN showed the antibiofilm property with the IC<sub>50</sub> values ranging from 17.04 to 60.7 μM against different test pathogens. The in silico docking studies showed PCN strongly interacted with various proteins of different Xanthomonas spp. with high binding energies. We report herein for the first time the anti-biofilm property and the docking studies of PCN. The extrolite from P. aeruginosa strain CGK-KS-1 showed promising bioactivities and may be considered as a potential candidate for application in various biocontrol strategies.
