‘제3세대’이후 국내 러시아 연구의 현황과 과제 : 사회과학을 중심으로

        박수헌,신범식 서울대학교 러시아연구소 2006 러시아연구 Vol.16 No.2

Since the mid-1990s, Russian Studies in Korea have been in the stage of "relative stabilization" after undergoing the ups and downs in the previous years. The rise of the "third generation" scholars, many of which returned to Korea after earning their doctoral degrees in Russia, has contributed to this trend. The current research, based on a comprehensive review of social science works on Russia, published as M. A. and Ph.D theses, in book forms and monographs, and as articles in 12 academic journals during the past decade in Korea, shows the following developmental tendencies in the Russian Studies in Korea since the mid-1990s. First, the number of Korean specialists on Russia has consistently increased. Second, the scope of research has been extended in spatial dimension as well as in research topics. In the former, while CIS countries other than Russia have increasingly became the subject of research, the investigation of local politics and economy in Russia has also grown. In the latter, topics have been more diversified beyond the traditional fields of politics, economy, society, and history into education, law, media, anthropology, and political geography. Third, the cases of field researches and surveys have continued to increase, which can contribute to a qualitative progress in the Russian Studies in Korea. Fourth, more research efforts have been devoted to the analysis of various aspects of Russia from a comparative theoretical perspective. Fifth, new attention has been called to the methodological issues in understanding the Russian experiences. Despite these new developments and achievements, however, Russian Studies in Korea still offer the room for continuing improvement. First, compared with those countries with more advanced Russian Studies, the Russian Studies community in Korea is still much small, and there are very few specialists on other CIS countries than Russia. Second, Russian politics and economy still command a disproportionally high position in terms of research topic. Third, researches are lopsidedly tilting toward policy-oriented studies rather than contributing to strengthening the foundation of Russian Studies. Fourth, the previous tendency to approach the Russian experiences from the viewpoint of break with the past has not been fully overcome. Fifth, although efforts have been made for establishing a "Korean style of studying Russia", the Western approaches to the Russian realities still enjoy a disproportionately high popularity. Sixth, strenuous endeavor among the Russian Studies community is required for implementing interdisciplinary researches of Russia as subject of area studies.

Objective: To evaluate usefulness of the brain SPECT in brain dysfunction patients who showed low Mini-MentaI State Examination(MMSE) score. Method: Eighty four patients who were visited to a rehabilitation hospital for their brain dysfunction were retropectively studied. We investigated percent of positive finding in brain SPECT, brain CT, MRI, P-300 studies, and correlation of MMSE scores, brain SPECT, P-300 studies, and correlation of brain SPECT, brain CT and MRI, P-300 studies. Resutts: Percent of positive finding in brain SPECT was high than brain CT, MRI, P-300 studies. MMSE scores were positive correlation with brain SPECT, but no correlation with P-300 study(P>0.05). Brain SPECT were significant correlation with brain CT (P<0.05), but no correlation with brain MRI and P-300 studies (P>0.05). P-300 study was no correlation with brain CT, MRI (P>0.05). Conclusion: We concluded that brain SPECT is useful for reflection of brain dysfunction.

      • 들잔디 성숙종자로부터 캘러스배양 및 식물체 재분화에 미치는 몇 가지 요인의 영향

이상훈,김범수,원성혜,조진기,김기용,박근제,성병렬,이효신,이병현 Plant molecular biology and biotechnology research 2004 Plant molecular biology and biotechnology research Vol.2004 No.-

In an effort to optimize tissue culture responses of zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.) for genetic transformation, factors affecting callus induction and plant regeneration were investigated. MS medium containing 3 ㎎/L 2,4-D was optimal for embryogenic callus induction from mature seed. The plant regeneration frequency of 73.3% was observed when embryogenic calli induced in this medium were transferred to N6 medium supplemented with 0.1 ㎎/L 2,4-D and 5 ㎎/L BA. Among several basic media, MS and N6 medium were optimal for callus induction and plant regeneration, respectively. Regenerated plants were grown normally when shoots transplanted to the soil. A rapid and efficient plant regeneration system established in this study will be useful for molecular breeding of turfgrass through genetic transformation.

Pharmacokinetics of GST-TatdMt, a Recombinant Fusion Protein Possessing Potent Anti-obesity Activity, in Mice

        Shin, Beom-Soo,Seo, Jin-Hyuk,Hur, Man-Wook,Lee, Min-Nyung,Yoo, Sun-Dong 대한약학회 2007 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.30 No.9

This study examined the absorption and pharmacokinetic disposition of $^{125}I-GST-TatdMt$, a recombinant Tat protein possessing potent anti-obesity activity, in mice after vascular and extravascular administration. GST-TatdMt was over-expressed in E. coli, purified, and radioiodinated using the IODO-GEN method. $^{125}I-GST-TatdMt$ was administered to mice by i.v., i.p. and oral administration at doses of 652.7 nCi (102.3 ${\mu}g$). Upon i.v. injection, the average terminal elimination half-life ($t_{1/2,{\lambda}z}$), AUC and AUMC were 6.4 h, 318.2 $nCi{\cdot}h/mL$ and 2518 $nCi{\cdot}h^{2}/mL$, respectively. The highest radioactivity was observed in lung followed by liver, spleen, heart and kidney. The $t_{1/2,{\lambda}z}$ values obtained from i.v., i.p., and oral administration were comparable from each other (range 5.8-6.4 h). The absolute bioavailability of $^{125}I-GST-TatdMt$ was 42.8% and 60.5% after p.o. and i.p. administration, respectively. Given the cell-penetrating nature, $^{125}I-GST-TatdMt$ may be absorbed into the systemic circulation to a relatively high extent after extravascular administration.

      • Assessment of bisphenol A exposure in Korean pregnant women by physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling.

Shin, Beom Soo,Hwang, Sang Wook,Bulitta, Jurgen B,Lee, Jong Bong,Yang, Seung Du,Park, Joong San,Kwon, Min Chang,Kim, Do Jung,Yoon, Hae-Seong,Yoo, Sun Dong Taylor Francis 2010 Journal of toxicology and environmental health. Pa Vol.73 No.21

<P>The objective of this study was to predict the exposure to bisphenol A (BPA) after oral intake in human blood and tissues using physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling. A refined PBPK model was developed taking into account of glucuronidation, biliary excretion, and slow absorption of BPA in order to describe the second peak of BPA observed following oral intake. This developed model adequately described the second peak and BPA concentrations in blood and various tissues in rats after oral administration. A prospective validation study in rats additionally supported the proposed model. For extrapolation to humans, a daily oral BPA dose of 0.237 mg/70 kg/d or 0.0034 mg/kg/d was predicted to achieve an average steady-state blood concentration of 0.0055 ng/ml (median blood BPA concentration in Korean pregnant women). This dose was lower than the reference dose (RfD, 0.016 mg/kg/d) and the tolerable daily intake established by the European Commission (10 관g/kg/d). Data indicate that enterohepatic recirculation may be toxicologically important as this pathway may increase exposure and terminal half-life of BPA in humans.</P>

Characteristics of Particle Separation in Suspension using an Ultrasonic Standing Wave

        Shin, Beom-Soo,Danao, Mary-Grace C. Korean Society for Agricultural Machinery 2012 바이오시스템공학 Vol.37 No.2

Purpose: Particle separation in solution is one of important process in a unit operation as well as in an extract preparation for biosensors. Contrary to centrifuge-type of mesh-type filter, using an ultrasonic standing wave make the filtering process continuous and free from maintenance. It is needed to investigate the characteristics of particle movement in the ultrasonic standing wave field. Methods: Through the computer simulation the effects of major design and driving parameters on the alignment characteristics of particles were investigated, and a cylindrical chamber with up-stream flow type was devised using two circular-shape PZTs on both sides of the chamber, one for transmitting ultrasonic wave and the other for just reflecting it. Then, the system performance was experimentally investigated as well. Results: The speed of a particle to reach pressure-node plane increased as the acoustic pressure and size of particle increased. The maximum allowable up-stream flow rate could be calculated as well. As expected, exact numbers of pressure-node planes were well formed at specific locations according to the wavelength of ultrasonic wave. As the driving frequency of PZT got close to its resonance frequency, the bands of particles were observed clearer, which meant the particles were trapped into narrower space. Higher excitation voltages to the PZT produced a greater acoustic force with which to trap particles in the pressure-node planes, so that the particles gathered could move upwards without disturbing their alignments even at a higher inlet flow rate. Conclusions: This research showed the feasibility of particle separation in solution in the continuous way by an ultrasonic standing wave. Further study is needed to develop a device to collect or harvest those separated particles.

      • Prediction of drug bioavailability in humans using immobilized artificial membrane phosphatidylcholine column chromatography and in vitro hepatic metabolic clearance

Shin, Beom Soo,Yoon, Chi Ho,Balthasar, Joseph P.,Choi, Bu Young,Hong, Seok Hyun,Kim, Hyoung Jun,Lee, Jong Bong,Hwang, Sang Wook,Yoo, Sun Dong John Wiley Sons, Ltd. 2009 Biomedical chromatography Vol.23 No.7

<P>This study reports a rapid screening method for the prediction of oral drug bioavailability in humans based on combined immobilized artificial membrane (IAM) chromatographic capacity factor (kIAM) and in vitro stability in hepatic microsomes. The fraction of drug absorbed (Fa) in humans was predicted for a set of 15 structurally diverse commercial drugs based on kIAM values using a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile: Dulbecco's phosphate-buffered saline. The hepatic intrinsic clearance (CL<EM>int′</EM>) was calculated from in vitro disappearance half-life, and the oral bioavailability was predicted using in vitro hepatic clearance (CLh) and Fa. Significant correlations were observed for the relationships between predicted hepatic extraction ratios (ERh) and actual presystemic metabolism (r = 0.854) and between predicted and observed oral bioavailabilities (r = 0.805; p < 0.01). The IAM capacity factor together with the hepatic microsomal disappearance half-life may be useful in identifying compounds with high oral absorption potential in early drug discovery processes. • Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetics of Zearalenone

Shin, Beom Soo,Hong, Seok Hyun,Bulitta, Jü,rgen B.,Lee, Jong Bong,Hwang, Sang Wook,Kim, Hyoung Jun,Yang, Seung Du,Yoon, Hae-Seong,Kim, Do Jung,Lee, Byung Mu,Yoo, Sun Dong Informa UK (TaylorFrancis) 2009 Journal of toxicology and environmental health. Pa Vol.72 No.21

<P>The objectives of this study were to (1) develop physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models for zearalenone following intravenous (i.v.) and oral (p.o.) dosing in rats and (2) predict concentrations in humans via interspecies scaling. The model for i.v. dosing consisted of vein, artery, lung, liver, spleen, kidneys, heart, testes, brain, muscle, adipose tissue, stomach, and small intestine. To describe the secondary peak phenomenon observed after p.o. administration, the absorption model was constructed to reflect glucuronidation, biliary excretion, enterohepatic recirculation, and fast and slow absorption processes from the lumenal compartment. The developed models adequately described observed concentration-time data in rats after i.v. or p.o. administration. Upon model validation in rats, steady-state zearalenone concentrations in blood and tissues were simulated for rats after once daily p.o. exposures (0.1 mg/kg/d). The average steady-state blood zearalenone concentration predicted in rat was 0.014 ng/ml. Subsequently, a daily human p.o. dose needed to achieve the same steady-state blood concentration found in rats (0.014 ng/ml) was determined to be 0.0312 mg/kg/d or 2.18 mg/70 kg/d. The steady-state zearalenone concentration-time profiles in blood and tissues were also simulated for human after multiple p.o. administrations (dose 0.0312 mg/kg/d). The developed PBPK models adequately described the pharmacokinetics in rats and may be useful in predicting human blood and tissue concentrations for zearalenone under different p,o, exposure conditions.</P>
