In order to investigate functional characterization of callus extracts of apple ‘Hirosaki’ for cosmetic materials, biological activities of its extracts including wrinkle improvement, hair growth, and anti-inflammatory effect were investigated. The callus extract showed similar activity with TGF-β used as positive control at 50 μg/mL in the test of collagen synthesis, and increased 40% of proliferation of hair follicle dermal papilla cells. Especially, in case of anti-inflammatory effect, callus extract inhibited about 50% of COX-2 expression which was known as response for intermediating inflammation, and about 70% of eotaxin-1 production which was increased by atopy dermatitis.
저시력자용 버스 안내 모바일 애플리케이션 사용자 인터페이스 설계 및 구현

스마트폰의 보편화와 동시에 모바일 애플리케이션을 통해 접근할 수 있는 정보의 양이 크게 증가하면서 버스정보안내단말기 이외에도 버스 관련 정보를 획득할 수 있는 수단이 증가했다. 일반 사용자들은 모바일 애플리케이션을 통해 정보에 쉽게 접근 할 수 있지만, 스마트폰의 사용이 어려운 소외계층에게는 애플리케이션을 통해 정보를 제공하기 어렵다. 이와같은 정보의 격차를 줄이기 위해 기능이 개발되어왔고, 특히, 시각장애인의 스마트폰 접근성을 높이기 위해 Text-to-Speech (TTS) 기능이 제공되고 있다. 시각장애인에게 TTS 기능은 필수불가결한 요소임에도 불구하고 기존의 대다수 버스안내 애플리케이션들은 TTS 기능을 염두한 설계가 배제되어있어 시각장애인이 사용하기에 매우 부적합하다. 시각장애인들 중 높은 비율을 차지하는 저시력자들은 TTS 기능을 고려한 인터페이스 제공만으로 이동권이 넓어질 수 있지만, 시각장애인들 중 전맹자들 에게는 현 대중교통시스템 안에서 기존의 시스템이 개선되지 않는 한 비장애인의 도움 없이 이용하기에는 큰 어려움이 따른다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 저시력자들의 이동권을 향상시키기 위한 모바일 버스 안내애플리케이션 인터페이스를 제안한다.
기초자치단체 민간보조금의 전략적 운영방안에 관한 연구: 지방보조금 운영 담당자들에 대한 인식조사를 중심으로

본 연구는 기초자치단체가 민간에게 지원하는 지방보조금제도의 운영기준 및 실태를 살펴보고 이를 바탕으로 운영상의 한계를 도출하여 향후 지방보조금의 전략적 운영방안을 제시하였다. 분석결과 운영상의 한계로는 첫째, 예산편성시 총한도제 산정방식으로 인해 지방자치단체장의 무분별한 민간보조 및 선심성 행정의 수단 등으로 활용될 여지가 있다. 둘째, 지방보조금의 추진시 많은 업무량 등으로 인해 행정비용이 낭비할 수 있으며, 셋째, 지원사업 및 지원단체에 대한 합리적인 근거의 미비와 신규사업에 대한 평가지표의 미흡 등이다. 이를 개선하기 위해 먼저, 매칭재원의 적정성 및 지원사업의 수와 규모를 적절하게 판단할 필요가 있으며, 둘째, 지원대상기관 선정에 대한 명확한 세부규정의 마련이, 그리고 이밖에도 신규사업에 대한 평가 기준의 개선등이 필요하다. 이를 통하여 지역적 특성에 맞는 지방보조금의 합리적 운영이 가능 할 것이다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the criteria and contexts of the local grants system operated by basic local governments for the private sector, and shed light on relevant challenges to be addressed, ultimately to suggest some strategic options for the desirable operation of local grants. The analysis indicates the following challenges to be addressed. First, the capped budget scheme may provide some leeway for local government leaders to indiscreetly fund the private sector and engage in pork-barrel spending. Second, the much work involved in executing the budget for local grants may cause a waste of administrative cost. Third, the projects and entities receiving local grants lack in rationales, whilst at the same time the indicators used to assess new projects are not properly defined. To address the foregoing challenges and thus to allocate local grants in compliance with local characteristics, it is essential to adequately determine the legitimacy of matching financial resources as well as the number and scale of the municipality-funded projects. In addition, it is crucial to articulate some clear-cut regulations and codes applicable to recipients and to improve the assessment criteria for new projects.
Genome-wide analysis of structural variation in citrus two varieties related to citrus canker

Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas citri pv. citri is one of economically important diseases in the citrus industry. The devastating bacterial disease results in unattractive quality and a significant reduction in fruit production. Citrus growers and industry in Korea has been struggling with the serious disease causing the prohibition of export market. Korea also became the top import market for oranges. The development of markers linked to citrus canker resistance is strongly needed. In this study, we investigated molecular markers between ‘Kiyomi’ (Citrus unshiu x C. sinensis), a resistant cultivar, and Natsudaidai (C. natsudaidai), a susceptible cultivar. To develop markers, we focused on structural variation (copy number variation, CNV, and presence/absence variation, PAV). It has been well documented that CNV and PAV of defense-related genes are associated with resistant cultivars. Using a read depth approach following next-generation sequencing, we performed genome-wide analysis of CNV and PAV in two varieties. As a result, 633 genes showing at least two times difference between the mapping reads from two varieties and 61 genes showing presence of the mapping reads in only either one of them were screened. Visual inspection using the Integrative Genomics Viewer (IGV) was performed and experimental validation is being investigated. Interestingly, one of PAV candidates showed polymorphism in ‘Kiyomi’ and ‘Natsudaidai’ as well as other resistant and susceptible cultivars. Our results suggest a necessity for the detection of structural variation and indicate that the candidates may be useful for molecular breeding for citrus canker resistance and understanding disease resistance mechanism.
Development of SNP markers associated with citrus canker

Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas citri is a notorious disease affecting a decrease in fruit productivity and quality. Citrus export to USA is also prohibited by the disease. Therefore, development of citrus canker resistant variety is essential and exploitation of markers for molecular breeding is urgent. To develop DNA molecular markers, we performed whole genome resequencing for 8 varieties: 4 citrus canker resistant varieties including C. hybrid ‘Kioymi’ and 4 citrus canker susceptible varieties including C. iyo ‘Miyauchiiyokan’. In total, 642 polymorphic SNPs were detected between resistant and susceptible varieties. Of the 642 SNPs, 50 SNPs were preferably selected based on integrative genomics viewer. To apply the markers in a broad range of citrus variety, we performed genotyping with 6 other varieties very well known as citrus canker resistant and susceptible varieties in addition to previous mentioned 8 varieties. Three of the 50 SNPs were identified as a marker to distinguish citrus canker resistant varieties from susceptible varieties. Secondly, we developed molecular markers to apply for F1 lines crossed by ‘Kiyomi’ and ‘Miyauchiiyokan’. Of the 50 SNPs, we identified 2 SNP markers to distinguish between F1 resistant and susceptible lines. One of them is a resistance gene that plays a role in plant defense mechanism. In this study, we developed 5 molecular marker candidates possible to apply for molecular breeding to develop citrus canker resistant variety. We are working on development of candidate markers related to citrus canker.
그라운드 앵커 긴장재 손상 검출을 위한 FE 시뮬레이션 기반 EM(Elasto-Magnetic) 센서 설계 및 검증

A design process considering the electromagnetic characteristics of the materials and target object is essential for fabricating an EM(Elasto-Magnetic) sensor. However, several studies have not considered this. Therefore, in this study, the sensor parameters were initially determined through a finite element (FE) simulation, considering the size and form of an actual ground anchor. Subsequently, an indoor experiment was performed to verify the possibility of detecting tendon damage using a fabricated EM sensor by measuring the electromotive force (EMF). Finally, the experiment results were compared with the FE simulation results.
