Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder, ethnically restricted and commonly found among populations surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. FMF is the most prevalent autoinflammatory disease; is characterized by recurrent, self-limited episodes of fever with serositis; and is caused by Mediterranean fever gene (MEFV) mutations on chromosome 16. We describe a case of adult-onset FMF with complete symptomatic remission during pregnancy, without the use of colchicine. A 25-year-old woman had presented with periodic fever, abdominal pain, and vomiting since she was 21. Her abdominal computed tomography scan showed intestinal nonrotation. She underwent exploratory laparotomy and appendectomy for her symptoms 1 year prior. She had a symptom-free pregnancy period, but abdominal pain and fever recurred after delivery. Mutation analysis of the MEFV gene revealed two point mutations (p.Leu110Pro and p.Glu148Gln). We report an adult female patient with FMF in Korea with complete symptomatic remission during pregnancy. (Intest Res 2015;13:287-290)
지역별 산딸기 열매의 유용물질 함량, 항산화 활성 및 암세포 성장억제 효능 분석

본 연구는 산딸기 열매의 지역별(장성, 화성, 울산, 순창, 포항) 영양성분, 항산화 활성 및 암세포 성장 억제 효능 분석을 통하여 기능성을 갖는 산딸기 품종을 육성하고자 수행하였다. 모든 지역의 산딸기 열매에서 일반성분은 탄수화물 함량이 높게 나타났으며, 무기성분은 칼슘(996.6 μg/g ± 0.8%)이 가장 높은 함량을 보였으며, 나트륨(6.2 μg/g ± 1.0%)은 가장 낮았다. 유리아미노산은 총 26종, 구성아미노산은 총 18종을 분석하였다. 전자공여능 실험 결과 울산 산딸기가 500 μg/ml의 농도에서 열수추출물은 80%, 에탄올추출물은 82.6%의 높은 소거능을 보였다. 또한 암세포 성장억제 효과를 확인하기 위한 세포독성 실험 결과, B16F10 cell은 울산 산딸기 열수추출물과 포항 산딸기 에탄올추출물, H1299 cell은 순창 산딸기 열수추출물과 포항 산딸기 에탄올추출 물 그리고 MCF-7 cell은 장성 산딸기 열수추출물과 순창 산딸기 에탄올추출물에서 각각 세포독성이 나타났다. 따라서 이와 같은 기초자료를 바탕으로 기능성 특성을 지닌 산딸기를 선발하여 기능성 품종으로의 개발 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. This study was carried out to analyze the nutritional composition, bioactive components, antioxidant activity, and cytotoxic assay of cancer cells on Rubus crataegifolius (RC) : R. crataegifolius from Jangseong (RC-J), R. crataegifolius from Hwaseong (RC-H), R. crataegifolius from Ulsan (RC-U), R. crataegifolius from Sunchang (RC-S), and R. crataegifolius from Pohang (RC-P). The peroximate composition had the largest amount of carbohydrate content among all kinds of RC. As far as the mineral contents of RC, Calcium comprised the highest amount (996.6 μg/g ± 0.8%) and Natrium the lowest (6.2 μg/g ± 1.0%). A total of 26 kinds of free amino acids and 18 kinds of component amino acids were analyzed in RC. The results of electron donating were high scavenging effects of 80% in water extract (RC-UW) and 82.6% in ethanol extract (RCUE) in 500 μg/ml concentration from RC-U. Also, the cytotoxic effects of cancer cells B16F10 (RC-UW and RC-PE), H1299 (RC-SW and RC-PE), and MCF-7 (RC-JW and RC-SE) appeared in RC. Therefore, we confirmed that new varieties may possibly be developed with functional materials.
A Study on the Types and Characteristics of Fashion-Related Blogs

Social media which support to share information and communicate between online users have recently won great popularity. Of the various social services blogs have played an active role as a community in sharing delivering and exchanging information among individual users who have share similar opinions hobbies and preferences. Based on this cultural phenomenon some companies often take advantage of blogs as a marketing tool to strengthen their public relations or deliver particular information to their costumer. This study is designed to classify fashion-related blogs and define the characteristics of each type expecting significant influences on future studies on this topic. We selected 50 fashion-related blogs as subjects including 25 Korean blogs and the same number of international blogs, defined their characteristics and classified them into four different types. As the result we found that there are apparent differences between the four types of blogs: "Individual taste" blogs which noticeably reflect bloggers' own preference "Trend leader" blogs in which the bloggers intend to be trend leaders beyond expressing their preference "Fashion media" blogs which plays a significant role as a magazine by providing various information concerning fashion for costumers and "Sales promotion" blogs which are used as promotional materials to attract customers by providing product reviews or advertisements.

Suicide, the fourth leading cause of death in Korea, is a serious national problem. The Korea National Suicide Survey (KNSS) is the result of the first legislation to address this issue, "Article 11 of THE ACT FOR THE PREVENTION OF SUICIDE AND THE CREATION OF A CULTURE OF RESPECT FOR LIFE" (the "Act for the Prevention of Suicide"). To overcome the limitations of previous studies, the KNSS was designed by collaborators from a variety of fields : psychology, epidemiology, social welfare, and psychiatry. The KNSS was composed of four substudies that addressed the multifaceted process involved in suicide-related behavior over time, exploring general attitudes toward suicide and suicidal ideation, suicide planning, suicide attempts, and completed suicides. Study 1 examined the risk factors for suicide based on data regarding completed suicides ; Study 2 adopted the approach of a psychological autopsy ; Study 3 focused on suicide attempters ; and Study 4 explored attitudes toward suicide in the general population. The KNSS was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of suicide from a longitudinal, multifaceted perspective to serve as a basis for policies aimed at suicide prevention.

현대 강신무는 신령에 의존하며 강한 종교적 카리스마와 권위를 바탕으로 굿을 진행하기 때문에 특히 무복이 발달해 있다. 이러한 무복은 현재 신복(神服)으로 간주되지만, 굿거리 현장에서만 입는 고유한 특수복장이 아니라 원래는 과거의 전통적인 생활복식에서 차용한 것들이다. 이러한 무복 중에서 굿거리를 진행할 때 중요한 역할을 하는 무복 철릭의 형태는 현대 굿거리에서 무당 개인의 개성에 따라 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 특히 이러한 변화는 전통무복의 형태를 유지하면서 변형되어가고 있는 것이 아니고, 철릭 자체의 전통성을 잃어가고 있는 추세이다. 무복철릭이 시대의 변화 혹은 무당 개인의 여건과 개성에 따라 많이 변형되어 전통복 이었던 무복철릭의 형태가 정체성을 잃어가고 있는 실정을 주시 할 때, 현대 굿거리에 나타나고 있는 다양한 포(袍)의 전통성에 관한 연구가 필요하다고 본다. 현대 굿거리에서 착용하는 무복철릭의 형태는 전통복에 비해 품이 더 풍성하고 소매가 길어져 있었다. 또한 소매의 진동부위에는 아귀를 내어 손을 꺼낼 수 있도록 하였으며 여밈에도 변화가 있었다. 문양이나 장식기법은 전통무복과는 달리 과장되고 현란하다는 것이 주시되었다. 이는 주술적인 의미보다는 굿을 참관하는 관객을 몰입시키기 위한 시각적인 효과를 나타내기 위해 무당의 개성이나 무복제작자에 의해 변화 된 것으로 추정해 볼 수 있다. Shamanism is roughly categorized into two parts: Seseup-mu and Gangsin-mu. The former leads a Kut as an artistic skill of singing and dancing while the latter relies upon a spirit, leading a Kut based on religious charisma and prestige. So the latter has more improved Shaman's costume. The Shaman's costume is considered as Sinbok, but it is not a special costume only used in Kut. It originally borrowed from our traditional ordinary costume. Among the Shaman's costumes, Cheal-lik that has a important role in Kut has changed dependant on Shamans' different characters. A traditional type of Shaman's costume is not maintained as changes occur, and the identity of the Cheal-lik itself is losing. Therefore, this study aims to examine change of the Cheal-lik that appears in the costume of Gangsin-mu. The followings are the changes shown in Gangsin-mu Shaman's costume Cheal-lik: Shaman's costume Cheal-lik has a broader width and longer sleeves, compared with a traditional costume. Also, the sleeves have slits in the armhole to take hands out and this was a change in a functional aspect. The characteristics mentioned above were intended for Shamman's effective dancing while performing a Kut, wearing Cheal-lik.

Rice that the half of population in the world eats as a staple food is mostly produced and consumed in Asia. However, its consumption is nowadays decreasing mainly due to diet diversity. Accordingly, some attempts are in demand to enhance the utilization of rice. In this study, profiling of volatile and nonvolatile flavor components in rice pastes obtained by α-amylase was performed and compared according to nine different rice cultivars domestically cultivated in Korea using gas chromatographymass spectrometry combined by solid phase microextraction and gas chromatography-time of flight-mass spectrometry after a derivatization, respectively. In total, 46 volatile compounds identified included 6 alcohols, 6 aldehydes, 4 esters, 4 furan derivatives, 4 ketones, 1 acid, 1 sulfur-containing compound, 7 hydrocarbons, 5 aromatics and 8 terpenes. The non-volatile flavor components found were composed of 12 amino acids, 6 sugars and 4 sugar alcohols. In principal component analysis, rice paste samples could be discriminated according to cultivars on the score plots of volatile and non-volatile flavor compounds. In particular, some volatile compounds such as pentanal and 4,7-dimethylundecane could contribute to distinguish Senong 17 white and Senong 17 brown, whereas ethanol, 6-methylhep-5-en-2-one, and tridecane could be highly related to the discrimination of Iipum from other cultivars. Among non-volatile compounds, some amino acids such as glycine, serine and γ-aminobutyric acid and some sugars such as sucrose and fructose were mainly responsible for the discrimination of Danmi from the other cultivars. On the other hand, galactose, arabitol and mannose were more closely related to Senong 17 white than Senong 17 brown.
