        The surface of albumin microspheres could be modified with methotrexate (MTX) by using 1.3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC). Surface-modified albumin microspheres entrapping no MTX (SAMS), free MTX (SAMSF) and MTX-bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugates (SAMSC) were prepared, respectively, and their release characteristics were investigated in the presence of trypsin using a dissolution tester. The mean diameters of all the microspheres were 5~8 μm, and their shapes was small and uniform. MTX bound to their surfaces was released slower than the entrapped free MTX, and faster than the entrapped MTX-BSA conjugates. Also, surface-modified MTX was scarcely released in the absence of a proteolytic enzyme. Therefore, the surface-modified MTX may be released rapidly from SAMSC at the target site, and thereafter MTX may be released slowly from the encapsulated MTX-BSA conjugates in SAMSC for a long period.

      • 자발성 뇌교출혈 환자의 예후에 관한 임상 분석

        Patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage very often develop setvere disturbances of consciousness,pupilary abnormalities, respiratory and motor. They have high mortality rate. Therefore, I analyzed the correlation between the Glasgow outcome scale(GOS)and clincial manifestations or computed tomographic(CT)findings in 48 patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage to clarify factors predicting the prognosis. I examined 48 Patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage; 33 males and 15 females, age 54.6±8.99(mean±S.D.;range 39 to 68)brought to our hospital between January 1995 and December 1999, retrospectively. Correlations between the clinical manifestations, CT findings and the GOS was assessed with multivariate regression analysis. The results were as follow: 1) Patients with the pontine hemorrhage were of 8.8% in those with intracerebral hemorrhage. The ratio of male and female was 33 to 15. The incidence of age is eqial to 40,50 and 60. Total mortality was 41.6%. 2) The poor prognostic factor were that; Glasgow coma scale(GCS)3∼8, irregular respiration. pupilary abnormality, quadriplegia, Brain CT typeⅠ(massive), hydrocephalus, extrapontine extension, Intraventricular hemorrhage(IVH). These clinical analysis should be useful in determining the level of care and future resuscitative efforts.

      • 人蔘多糖類의 理化學的 特性에 關한 硏究 : 人蔘貯藏加工中 澱粉의 理化學的 特性變化 Change of physicochemical properties of the starch during storage and heat treatment

        In order to investigate the change of physicochemical properties of ginseng root starch during storage and heat treatment. the roots were stored for 15 days at 5℃, 15℃, 30℃ and 45℃, and heated for 15 hours at 60℃, 70℃, 80℃, 90℃, respectively. The starch content was decreased from about 40% to 23-26% and sucrose content was increased from 4% to 12-16% during storage for 15 days at 5-45℃. Maltose, which was not detected in fresh samples, was increased upto 8.5% during storage or heat treatment. Granular size of the starch was decreased and some of the granules were broken during storage. Amylose content in the starch was decreased from 33% to 20%, and blue value and alkali number of the starch were increased slightly, and solubility and swelling power of the starch were decreased during storage. The higher storage temperature and the longer storage time, the starch was more susceptible to gelatinize, and the viscosity of the starch was lowered with the susceptibility of gelatinization. The susceptibility of degradation of the starch by the amylase was increased and amylolytic activities in ginseng root were, also, increased during storage.

      • Alginate Bead를 이용한 고분자 약물의 제어방출형 약물수송체

        The purpose of this paper is to explore the possible applicability of alginate beads as an oral controlled release system of polymeric drugs. Cellulases was used as a model polymeric drug. The release of cellulase from alginate beads was moderately affected by the ratio of cellulase to sodium alginate and strongly affected by CaCl_2 concentration. However, the release was not particularly affected by the other factors such as sodium alginate concentration and curing time. The drug was not released from alginate beads at pH 1.2 but was released continuously up to 8 hr at pH 6.8. At pH 6.8, the beads were swollen highly up to 3 hr, thereafter, were eroded into the bulk solution up to 6 hr, completely. Drug release from the beads can be caused due to diffusion and erosion of the matrix. Activity of cellulase was reduced when alginate beads containing cellulase were stored in simulated gastric juice. Further investigation would be necessary to improve the acid resistance of beads. Since the release of cellulase as a model polymeric drug could be controlled by tthe regulation of the preparation conditions of alginate beads, the alginate beads may be used for a potential oral controlled release system of such polymeric drugs as polypeptide drugs.

        It has been rapidly given to the importance of the embodiment of the efficient computer systems in university education. Since the recent trend of the adoption of the openess policy in university education systems significantly affects on the realization of the embodiment of the efficient computer systems which is very essential to promote the international competition in many areas of university education. So it is greatly needed that our Soonchunhyang university must have the following principles for the embodiment of the efficient computer systems. (1) It is required that the appropriate computer education and the good quality of research environment must be given. (2) The establishment of the synthetic computer network system for efficient the university administrations is needed. (3) It is needed to establish the computer system for the consideration of the future performance. (4) It is also needed to improve the organization and the administration systems of the university computer center. (5) It is required on the establishment of the local area network(LAN) systems in the Soonchunhyang university, and the LAN must be connected to other outer national and international computer systems. And we propose the following requirement for the establishment of the convienent computer systems in our university and we have been greatly though about the significant change of the environment in university computer system. [1] The subject of the basic computer must become as the required subject for the all students in the curriulum. [2] The new computer systems both in hardware and software must be introduced. [3] It is needed to the change of the present name of the university computer center into the university information and computer center. And its organizations must be furthur developed [4] The training center for the university emploee is also needed. [5] The establishment of the database systems for the automtion of the university administation is needed. [6] It is strongly required on the establishment of the local area network system in the Soonchunhang university to connect the Bitnet and the Internet through the Hankook communication. [7] The computerization for the central library is needed. The indepent local area network system for the library is also needed to establish the own database system. Finally we hope that the LAN will be connected to the national wide library computer system.

        Rotating machines have the tendency of high speed and compactness for enhancing the energy and mechanical efficiency. Therefore, the rotor-bearing system is forced to operate over several critical speeds. The precise analysis and treatment of the vibration which occurs under this condition become more important. A procedure is presented for dynamic modeling of rotor-bearing systems which consist of rigid disks, distributed parameter finite rotor elements, and discrete bearings. The formulation is presented in both a fixed and rotating frame of reference. In order to save computing time, the degrees freedom of the system governing equation is reduced by using the static condensation method. The natural whirl speeds and unbalance response of the two models is presented for several speeds.

        In the present study, we aimed. to consider the name of twelve main Meridian in order to understand the concept of the Meridian system and to applicate acupuncture theory in the clinical field properly and fundamentally. We referred to several literatures on the matter and we found out that the name of present twelve Meridian was not settled until the period of Yellow Emperor's Classic. In the time of Yellow Emperor's Classic, the two theory of Internal Organ and Meridian system were combined and added new theory of 'WoonGi'. The general rule of combination is that the component of name of Meridian consist of 'Hand' or 'Foot', 'three Eum and Yang' and internal organ. The internal organ coupled with the root ki or middle ki of 'three Eum and Yang' and the 'Hand' or 'Foot' depend on the location of internal organ that belongs to meridian. The name of Twelve Meridian is a kind of system formed to analyze the two concepts organically and dynamically. One is material internal organ and the other is immaterial meridian system.

        국내에서 생장한 Kenaf의 해부학적 특성

        국내에서 재배한 kenaf의 해부학적 특성을 광학현미경법으로 조사하였다. Kenaf의 수피부에는 인피섬유, 사부방사조직, 피층유세포 등이 존해하였고, 목질부는 도관, 목섬유, 방사조직 등으로 구성되어 있었다. 도관은 고립관공과 2~3개가 방사방향으로 복합한 복합관공이 많이 존재하였고, 방사조직은 평복, 직립, 방형세포가 모두 분포하고 있었다. 접선단면에서 방사조직은 단열 및 다열방사조직으로 구성되었다. 수피비의 인피섬유층은 생장기간과 함께 증가하였다. Anatomical properties of Kenaf cultivated in Korea was investigated using light microscopy. Bast fiber, phloem ray and cortex parencyma cell were observed in bast, and vessel, wood fiber and rat in core. A lot of solitary and multiple radial pores in core existed. The cell type of ray parenchyma in radial section was procumbent, upright and square sell. Uniseriate and multiseriate rays existed in tangential section. The layer of bast fiber in bast increased with in creasing the growth period.

      • 감꼭지나방 생태적 특성 및 방제약제 선발

        경남지역과 충북지역 감나무의 재배, 해충 방제실태를 농가 방문하여 설문조사 한 결과 감 재배경력은 경남지역이 평균 10년이며, 충북지역은 평균 5년 정도이다. 감 재배 주수는 대다수 농가가 20주 이상이고, 재배관리에 대하여 자문을 받는 곳은 농업센터나 농약사 및 연구소 등이었다. 김 품종은 경남지역에서는 부유와 서촌조생, 충북지역에서는 등시와 월하 등을 재배하고 있었다. 시비종류는 이른봄 에 퇴비나 복합비료를 주었고, 감나무 생장 중 열매나 저장 중 열매에 발생하는 해충이 발견되었다. 해충방제를 위해 살충제를 살포하고 있는데 주로 감꼭지나방, 진딧물, 잎말이나방 및 깍지벌레 등으로 파마치온, 파단, 코니도, 신파마치온, 수프라사이드 등을 살포하였다. 감꼭지나방(Stathmopoda masinissa)의 발육생태를 조사하기 위하여, 감꼭지나방을 야외에서 채집하여 온도±1℃, 광주기 16L:8D, 상대습도 50~60%에서 실내 사육하였다. 각 층태별 기간은 알 7.4일, 유충기간 34.7일, 용 15.5일이었다. 각 령기간은 1령 3.5일, 2령 4.2일, 3령 5.2일, 4령 6.5일, 5령 15.4일이었으며, 특히 유층의 두폭을 측정하여 평균한 결과는 1령 0.20mm, 2령 0.40mm, 3령 0.65mm, 4령 0.87mm, 5령 1.07mm일 이었다. 성충의 수명은 수컷이 6.2일, 암컷이 10.1일 이었다. 용화율은 68.0% 우화율은 59.9%이었다. A survey in Kyungnam and chungbuk areas revealed that the average number of years for persimmon tree farming is 10 and 5 years, respectively. The number of trees per orchard is at least over 20, and the farmers have been usually advised through an agricultural center, an agrochemical store, or agrochemical research center. The varieties of the persimmons they grow are Buyu and Seocheon in Kyungnam, and Doogsi and Wolha in Chungbuk. The kind of fertilizers they sprayed in early spring is either compost or composite fertilizer. persimmon pests are often found in persimmon fruits while on a tree or in storage. Phamathion, Padan, Konido, Sinpamathion, and/or supuraside is usually used to control persimmon fruit moths, aphides, leafrollers, and scale insects. To understand the developmental ecology of the persimmon fruit moth, Stathmopoda masinissa Meyrick, we collected and reared them under the laboratory condition which is at 25±1℃ of temperature, 16L:8D of photoperiod, and 85% of relative humidity. As a result, the developmental period of egg, larva, and pupa were 7.40, 34.7, and 15.5 days, respectively. The average period of each larval instar was 3.50, 4.17, 5.17, 6.46, and 15.42 days, respectively, and the average head capsule width was 0.20, 0.40, 0.65, 0.87, and 1.07mm, respectively. The average adult longevity was 6.2 days for males and 10.1 days for females. The pupation rate and the emergence rate were 68.0% and 59.9%, respectively.
