      • Response of plasma rotation to resonant magnetic perturbations in J-TEXT tokamak

        <P>The response of plasma toroidal rotation to the external resonant magnetic perturbations (RMP) has been investigated in Joint Texas Experimental Tokamak (J-TEXT) ohmic heating plasmas. For the J-TEXT’s plasmas without the application of RMP, the core toroidal rotation is in the counter-current direction while the edge rotation is near zero or slightly in the co-current direction. Both static RMP experiments and rotating RMP experiments have been applied to investigate the plasma toroidal rotation. The core toroidal rotation decreases to lower level with static RMP. At the same time, the edge rotation can spin to more than 20 km s<SUP>−1</SUP> in co-current direction. On the other hand, the core plasma rotation can be slowed down or be accelerated with the rotating RMP. When the rotating RMP frequency is higher than mode frequency, the plasma rotation can be accelerated to the rotating RMP frequency. The plasma confinement is improved with high frequency rotating RMP. The plasma rotation is decelerated to the rotating RMP frequency when the rotating RMP frequency is lower than the mode frequency. The plasma confinement also degrades with low frequency rotating RMP.</P>

        한국 인사행정의 발전방향 : 전환기의 담론 Discourse in the age of transformation

        사회전체는 물론 공직사회도 전환기를 맞고 있다. 따라서 이 글에서는 인사행정의 변화와 도전을 대내외적 여건 등으로 나누어 살펴본 후에, 인사행정의 발전이 부진했던 이유를 따져보고 한국인사행정의 발전방향을 조직적 차원, 제도와 관행적 차원 그리고 연구와 교육적 차원에서 각각 모색해보기로 한다. 지금까지는 인사행정의 제도화에 충실해왔지만, 앞으로는 민주화, 유연화, 분권화, 경제화, 인간화, 다양화, 정보화, 국제화 등의 차원에서 인사행정제도와 관행을 발전시켜나가야 할 것이다. 특히 혼재된 인사기능을 재정리하고 중앙인사기관의 역할을 재정립하는 것이 필요하다. 그리고 인사행정전문가들도 인적자원을 개발하고 투자하는 차원에서 적실성있는 인사행정을 연구·교육하는 책임을 다하여야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 정부와 민간분야 그리고 시민사회 등이 신뢰할만한 인사정책공동체를 구축하여 상호간에 협력관리하는 지혜가 필요하다. The Korean public service as well as Korean society are facing a great transformation now. This paper deals with several issues in response to such change. This paper first will review environmental changes and challenges, followed by a discussion of reasons for the under-development of the Korean public personnel administration. After that, it will elaborate on the directions for development of the public personnel administration in the following three areas: central personnel organization, personnel systems and practices, and research and education in public personnel administration. So far, the Korean government has concentrated on institutionalization and formalization of public personnel administration. In the future, however, these three things should be fully realized. First, the central personnel function should be consolidated in the Civil Service Commission so that the Civil Service Commission can play a more comprehensive role in public personnel policy in the future. Second, public personnel systems should be changed in reflecting the following directions such as democratization, flexibility, decentralization, economy, humanization, diversity, informatization, and internationalization. Third, the professional community in public administration should teach and research personnel issues in terms of human resource investment and indigenize personnel administration that is well fit with Korean societal characteristics. In order to do so, partnership or good governance should be established among government, civil society, and the private sector.

        Low-dose Clozapine-induced Seizure: A Case Report

        Seizures are believed to be a dose-dependent side effect of clozapine. In this case report, we describe a patient who had tonic-clonic seizures after using a low dose clozapine who did not have any seizure risk. The 29-year-old male patient had been followed-up with a diagnosis of schizophrenia for about 5 years. When using clozapine 200 mg/day he had a tonic-clonic seizure with bilateral diffuse epileptic activity in electroencephalography (EEG). In the literature, there are a few case reports about low-dose clozapine-induced seizure. Seizures were observed in our case with a low dose of clozapine (200 mg/day) making this case remarkable. EEG monitoring at regular intervals and examination of plasma levels of clozapine could be useful in preventing the development of seizures.

        현재 IC 카드는 통신, 금융, 교통 등의 여러 응용 서비스에서 널리 사용되고 있는데, 계속적인 하드웨어 기술의 발전으로 인한 메모리 증가, CPU 성능 향상과 통합된 정보 가전을 위한 다양한 형태의 네트워크 연결 인터페이스 구축 노력이 다중 응용 프로그램 사용 요구 및 개방형 운영체제(open-platform operating system)와 맞물려 도약적인 기술 발전을 이루고 있다. 본 고에서는 널리 사용되고 있으며 향후 시장성이 가장 클 것으로 예측되는 자바 카드 플랫폼 탑재 IC 카드의 기술 현황을 H/W 및 S/W 측면에서 살펴보고, 자바 카드 기술의 발전 동향을 조망하고자 한다.

      • Cosmic voids in Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7

        <P><B>ABSTRACT</B></P><P>We study the distribution of cosmic voids and void galaxies using Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 (SDSS DR7). Using the VoidFinder algorithm based on the original VoidFinder method devised by El‐Ad & Piran and implemented by Hoyle & Vogeley, we identify 1054 statistically significant voids in the Northern galactic hemisphere with radii > 10 <I>h</I><SUP>−1</SUP> Mpc. The filling factor of voids in the sample volume is 62 per cent. The largest void is just over 30 <I>h</I><SUP>−1</SUP> Mpc in effective radius. The median effective radius is 17 <I>h</I><SUP>−1</SUP> Mpc. The voids are found to be significantly underdense, with density contrast δ < − 0.85 at the edges of the voids. The radial‐density profiles of these voids are similar to predictions of dynamically distinct underdensities in gravitational theory. We find 8046 galaxies brighter than <I>M<SUB>r</SUB></I>=− 20.09 within the voids, accounting for 7 per cent of the galaxies. We compare the results of VoidFinder on SDSS DR7 to mock catalogues generated from a smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) halo model simulation as well as other Λ cold dark matter (ΛCDM) simulations and find similar void fractions and void sizes in the data and simulations.       • Multiple model approach to evaluation of accelerated carbonation for steelmaking slag in a slurry reactor

        Basic oxygen furnace slag (BOFS) exhibits highly alkaline properties due to its high calcium content, which is beneficial to carbonation reaction. In this study, accelerated carbonation of BOFS was evaluated under different reaction times, temperatures, and liquid-to-solid (L/S) ratios in a slurry reactor. CO<SUB>2</SUB> mass balance within the slurry reactor was carried out to validate the technical feasibility of fixing gaseous CO<SUB>2</SUB> into solid precipitates. After that, a multiple model approach, i.e., theoretical kinetics and empirical surface model, for carbonation reaction was presented to determine the maximal carbonation conversion of BOFS in a slurry reactor. On one hand, the reaction kinetics of BOFS carbonation was evaluated by the shrinking core model (SCM). Calcite (CaCO<SUB>3</SUB>) was identified as a reaction product through the scanning electronic microscopy and X-ray diffraction analyses, which provided the rationale of applying the SCM in this study. The rate-limiting step of carbonation was found to be ash-diffusion controlled, and the effective diffusivity for carbonation of BOFS in a slurry reactor were determined accordingly. On the other hand, the carbonation conversion of BOFS was predicted by the response surface methodology (RSM) via a nonlinear mathematical programming. According to the experimental data, the highest carbonation conversion of BOFS achieved was 57% under an L/S ratio of 20 mL g<SUP>-1</SUP>, a CO<SUB>2</SUB> flow rate of 0.1 L min<SUP>-1</SUP>, and a pressure of 101.3 kPa at 50 <SUP>o</SUP>C for 120 min. Furthermore, the applications and limitations of SCM and RSM were examined and exemplified by the carbonation of steelmaking slags.

        Effects of Coated Compound Proteases on Apparent Total Tract Digestibility of Nutrients and Apparent Ileal Digestibility of Amino Acids for Pigs

        Two experiments were conducted to evaluate effects of coated compound proteases (CC protease) on apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of nitrogen (N) and energy, and apparent ileal digestibility (AID) of amino acids (AA) and nutrients in diets for pigs. In Exp. 1, 12 crossbred barrows (initial body weight: $20.79{\pm}1.94kg$) were housed in individual metabolism crates and allotted into 2 treatments with 6 piglets per treatment according to weight in a randomized complete block design. The 2 diets were corn-soybean meal basal diets with (0.2 g/kg) or without CC protease supplementation. The CC protease supplementation increased (p<0.05) the digestible and metabolizable N and energy values and the digestibility and retention rate of N in the diet. The ATTD of energy and nutrients had been improved (p<0.05) in the diet supplemented with CC protease. In Exp. 2, 12 crossbred barrows (initial body weight: $20.79{\pm}1.94kg$), fitted with T-cannulas at the distal ileum, were blocked by body weight into 2 groups with 6 pigs each. The diets were the same as those in Exp. 1. The CC protease increased (p<0.05) the AID of crude protein and some essential AA including arginine, isoleucine and leucine. The AID and ATTD of energy and nutrients had been improved (p<0.05) by supplemental CC protease, but the hindgut digestibility of nutrients was unaffected. Overall, the CC protease improved the ATTD of N and energy and AID of some indispensible AA and nutrients in the corn-soybean meal diet for pigs. Therefore, the CC protease supplement could improve the utilization of protein in the corn-soybean meal diet and thus contribute to lower N excretion to the environment.
