        Silkworm pupae powder ingestion increases fat metabolism in swim-trained rats

        Sung Pil Ryu. Silkworm pupae powder ingestion increases fat metabolism in swim-trained rats. JENB., Vol. 18, No. 2, pp.141-149,2014 [Purpose]Many researchers are trying to solve the metabolic syndrome by utilizing a variety of nutritional control and exercise. Of those, silkworm pupae peptides are known to inhibit the synthesis of fat. Therefore, we examine the effect of fat metabolism by supplying silkworm pupae (SP) for 5-week in swim-trained rats. [Methods]Animals were divided into four groups as a group (n = 32) fed a normal diet (CO) with exercise training (CE); a group fed a silkworm pupa diet (SPC) with an exercise training (SPE), respectively. [Results]Abdominal fat pads (abdominal and epididymal) weight were lowest in SPE. The serum triglyceride, total cholesterol concentrations were lower in the SP and the SPE. HDL-cholesterol, however, was not different between groups. Liver AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) was increased in the CE and the SPE. Liver PPAR-α (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha) was increased in the SPC and SPE. L-FABP (liver fatty acids binding protein) was increasedby SP ingestion. Liver CPT-1 (carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1) protein expression was increased by exercise training only. [Conclusion]In the present study showed that the silkworm pupae intake and/or swimming exercise training activates fat metabolism to reducethe concentration of serum lipids. Thus, the silkworm pupae intake leads to a reduction in fat storage, this is considered to be effective in the inhibition of the metabolic syndrome.         ML 기법에 기반을 둔 측정치 융합기법을 가진 다중표적 방위각 추적 알고리즘

        Recently, Ryu et al. proposed a multiple target DOA tracking algorithm, which has good features that it has no data association problem and simple structure. But its performance is seriously degraded in the low signal-to-noise ratio. In this paper, a measurement fusion method is presented based on ML(Maximum Likelihood), and the new DOA tracking algorithm is proposed by incorporating the presented fusion method into Ryu's algorithm. The proposed algorithm has a better tracking performance than that of Ryu's algorithm, and it sustains the good features of Ryu's algorithm.

        자가 복구 오류 검출 및 정정 회로 적용을 고려한 최적 스크러빙 방안

        Radiation particles can introduce temporary errors in memory systems. To protect against these errors, so-called soft errors, error detection and correcting codes are used. In addition, scrubbing is applied which is a fundamental technique to avoid the accumulation of soft errors. This paper introduces an optimal scrubbing scheme, which is suitable for a system with auto error detection and correction logic. An auto error detection and correction logic can correct soft errors without CPU’s writing operation. The proposed scrubbing scheme leads to maximum reliability by considering both allowable scrubbing load and the periodic accesses to memory by the tasks running in the system.

        논문 : 李澤厚의 정감본체론(情感本體論)

        이 글은 이택후의 정감본체론의 내용과 구조 및 그 의의를 고찰한다. 이택후는 중국의 문화전통, 특히 유가철학의 본령이 情에 있다고 주장한다. 전통적으로 정(감)은 문학과 예술에서 다루어왔으며, 철학에서는 이성을 인간의 본질적 요소로 간주하여 이성적 인간, 이성의 철학을 추구해왔다. 전통철학은 이성에 대한 강조와 탐구를 주된 과제로 삼았고, 정감은 이성의 지배와 통제의 대상으로 여겼다. 그들이 지향하는 이상적 인간은 정감적 인간이 아닌 이성적 인간이었다. 공자의 철학은 중국 문화심리구조의 형성에 중추적 역할을 하였는데, 그 특징은 인성과 정감의 함양을 중시하고 욕구와 이치의 융합과 통일을 중시하는 데 있다. 유학은 부모와 자식 사이의 자연적 혈연 정감에 기초한 효를 모든 인간관계의 출발점으로 삼아, 이를각종 사회적, 종교적, 국가적 감정으로 확장해가는 동심원적 구조를 갖는다. 가정에서 부모와 자녀 사이의 따뜻한 감정의 함양을 특별히 강조하고, 이를 인성의 뿌리, 질서의 근원, 사회의 기초로 삼는다. 그리고 가정 중심의 가치관을 인간적 감성의 층위에 놓고 그것을 교육의 근본 내용으로 삼는다. 이 논문의 2장에서는 이택후 철학사상의 지반을 구성하는 역사본체론과 실용이성을 다룬다. 인간과 인류의 근본은 육체적 생존, 의식주 문제를 해결하는 것으로, 이를 위해 도구의 제작과 사용, 노동과 실천, 물질적 생산이 함께 결합하여 역사를 형성했다. 이러한 역사발전과정에서 발생하고 발전한 문제해결능력이 실용이성이다. 그러므로 이성은 초월적이거나 선험적 능력이 아닌 인류가 생존하고 생활을 개선하는 능력이다. 3장에서는 역사본체론의 관점에 송명이학을 고찰한다. 송명이학은 심성을 정감과 분리시켜 추상적?선험적?초월적 이성으로 나아감으로써 근본적으로 실패할 수밖에 없었음을 밝힌다. 그리고 4장에서는 중국 문화심리구조의 情理一구조, 즉 정본체가 중국문화와 철학의 근간임을 규명한다. 유학은 심리적 정감원칙을 윤리학뿐만 아니라 세계관과 우주론의 기초로 삼고 있다. 5장에서는 이러한 정감에 기초한 심미적 즐거움의 문화를 살펴본다. 이 즐거움의 문화는 실용성과 정감본체가 만나 이루어진 심미적 삶과 지혜를 담고 있는 문화이다. The purpose of this paper is to study the content and structure of Li Zehou`s emotion fundamental theory. Li Zehou suggest that China`s cultural traditions, particularly the core of Confucianism is a emotion. Traditionally, the emotion has been addressed in the literature and the arts. In philosophy, human reason is considered to be the essential elements of Humanbeing, and has pursued a rational human beings, a philosophy of reason. Traditional emphasis on reason and investigated it. They sought was not an emotional man but a rational man. Neo-Confucianism of Sung-Ming period has the philosophical ground of dichotomy. They sought the basis of morality and reason in the transcendental and transcendent Tian-li. Confucian philosophy has a pivotal role in the formation of Chinese culture-psychological structure. Its characteristic emphasis on the cultivation of personality and emotion and desire, the sense of the convergence and unification of needs and principles. Confucianism start from a natural kinship between parent and child based on emotion as the starting point of all human relations. And has a concentric structure that expand it to the social, religious, national feelings. Confucianism especially emphasis on the cultivation of warm emotion between parents and children at home, and regarded it as the roots of human nature, the source of order, the foundation of society. Chapter 2 of this paper investigate Li Zehou`s history fundamental theory and practical reason. Chapter 3 of this paper investigate Neo-Confucianism of Sung-Ming period. They eventually failed because they separate human nature and emotion. Chapter 4 of this paper explain that emotional sense is the foundation of Chinese culture and philosophy. Chapter 5 of this paper look at the culture of aesthetic pleasure. The aesthetic culture is the culture containing the joy and wisdom of life, also include religious nature. The emotion-fundamental theory gives one of the implications that we have to move on.

      • 사이클링 선수의 슬관절각에 따른 하지동작의 운동학적 분석

        This study set out to evaluate the appropriateness of the height of a cycle saddle which was usually set based on a cyclist's experience and simple judgment. For this purpose, there was aroused a need to study what a cyclist's leg movements were according to the knee joint angle, that is, to study how a cyclist's leg joint angles and angular velocity would change at each pedaling. Seven male college cyclists were selected, and their pedaling movements were divided into four phases. The images were taped at 60fields/sec, using two video cameras. The KWON 3D 2.1 program was adopted to calculate and synchronize the 3D coordinates values which were calculated with DLT(Direct Liner Transformation), in order to analyze kinematical factors. The results were as follows: 1) There was found no difference between foot joint angles according to changes of knee joint angles in each phase. But it became clear that Phase 1 and 2 where the foot angle got bigger were the area where the foot joint was expanded and that Phase 3 and 4 where the foot angle got smaller were the area where the foot joint was bent. Accordingly, the area which gives a great indirect impact to the changes of foot joint angles is considered to be the first part of Phase 3 at which point the cycle of pedaling starts. 2) In terms of the difference of foot joint angular velocity according to knee joint angles, there was found a relatively stable deceleration in the decelerating area(Phase 3 and 4) while you could detect faster changes in the acceleration area(Phase 1 and 2) than in the decelerating area. 3) The changes in the angle difference of knee joints according to each knee joint angle showed almost similar patterns for every knee joint. But the patterns had the graph model of the opposite shape to that of the angle difference of foot joints. 4) The research went on to see what kind of difference the knee joint angle made as knee joint angular velocity changed. The changes were unlike the foot joint angular velocity and thus showed relatively slow deceleration and acceleration. And the higher the saddle was set, the bigger the difference of the angular velocity was. 5) The difference of hip joint angles according to knee joint angles made a graph pattern which showed no big correlation with the height of a saddle. 6) In considering how hip joint angular velocity would change according to knee joint angles, the higher a saddle was set, the bigger angular velocity was found in Phase 1 and 2, the area of joint expansion and the smaller angular velocity in Phase 3 and 4, the area of joint bending. Comparisons and analysis were made based on the results above mentioned. The conclusion was that the lower a saddle which was one of the three experiment conditions was set, the smoother the pedaling turned and the bigger the angular velocity was resulted. In other words, when you take a long road cycling with your saddle fixed at a little lower height than the average one, you will consume less physical strength and expect better performance.

      • 수학교육에서 피아제(Piaget)와 비고츠키(Vygotsky)의 사회적 상호작용의 역할에 관한 고찰

        학생들의 수학 학습은 동료 및 교사와의 상호작용을 통해 이루어져야 한다는 것은 매우 중요한 사실이다. 본고의 관심사는 수학교육에서 사회적 상호작용이 기능하는 양상에 대해서 피아제와 비고츠키의 견해를 바탕으로 비교·교찰하며, 사회적 상호작용의 다양한 역동성에 대해 알아보는 것이다. 흔히 상호작용을 연구하는 일부 학자들 중에는 피아제를 생물학적 개인주의자로, 비고츠키를 사회 문화적 집합주의자로만 해석하려는 경향이 있긴 하지만, 피아제가 발생적 인식론의 핵심원리를 상호작용에 두고 있으며, 비고츠키도 상호작용과 함께 개인의 능동적 구성을 중요시했다는 점에 주목할 필요가 있다. 즉, 두 사람은 공통적으로 지식의 구성이 순수한 개인적 차원의 정신활동인 동시에 사회적 활동으로 보고 있다. 물론 두 사람이 공통적으로 사회적 상호작용을 중요시하긴 하지만, 그 역할에서는 차이점을 보이고 있다. 피아제는 개인적 구성에 의한 논리를 보다 객관적인 것으로 하기 위해 사회적 상호작용의 역할이 필요하다고 보는 반면, 비고츠키는 사회적 상호작용을 하므로 써 개인적인 논리의 구성이 이루어진다는 것이다. 또한 사회적 상호작용은 수학적인 역동성, 개인적인 역동성, 사회적인 역동성, 문화·역사적인 역동성, 의사소통의 역동성이라고 하는 다양한 성질에 따라 영향을 받을 수 있다. 즉, 사회적 상호작용은 개인적 및 사회적 관계에 따라 그 역할이 변할 수 있고, 교사는 이러한 다양한 역동성을 고려하여 상호작용이 잘 이루어지는 수업이 되도록 해야 할 것이다. It is advisable that students can learn mathematics through the interaction between their co-workers and teachers. The purpose of this study has two important aspects: one is to comparatively inquire into the role of social interaction which is based on the views of Piaget and Vygotsky, and the other is to find out the various dynamics of the social interaction. Some scholars who make a special study of interaction tend to say that Piaget is a biological individualist and Vygotsky is a socio-cultural collectivist, but we need to focus on the facts that Piaget depends on the interaction for the core of developmental dpistemology, and also Vygotsky thinks that the active construction of individual along with interaction has much value. That is, both of them have the common opinion that the organization of knowledge is not only a pure mental activity of an individual, but also a social activity. Needless to say, the two persons make much of the social interaction together, but they have different views on the role of it. It seems to Piaget that the role of the social interaction is needed to look at the logic of individual construction objectively, but Vygotsky thinks the construction of individual logic will be done by means of the social interaction. In addition, the social interaction can be affected by many different kinds of qualities, such as mathematical dynamic, individual dynamic, social dynamic, cultural and historic dynamic and communicative dynamic. Accordingly, since the role of social interaction is likely to be changed a great deal due to individual and social relations, teachers should give the lessons of positive interaction to their students by thinking over these dynamic activities.

        Epidural or intrathecal morphine injection is a useful method for management of postoperative pain and cancer pain. But the effect of intrathecal morphine is ten to twenty times more potent than epidural morphine. So inadvertent intrathecal injection of morphine during epidural injection can induce serious side effect. The authors report a patient who experienced respiratory arrest and loss of consciousness due to inadvertent intrathecal injection of high dose morphine during epidural injection for management of cancer pain. The patient was treated with intravenous bolus and infusion of naloxone for 8 hours and assisted ventilation with Ambu and she was recovered completely without any sequela.

        가정과 교사들의 가정과 교육과정 관점에 대한 선호도와 관련 변수

        The purpose in this study is to identify beliefs about orientation of Korean secondary school home economics teachers for the development of home economics curriculum and the change of their curriculum orientation. The curriculum orientations explored were academic rationalism technical cognitive process, personal relevence, and social reconstruction. A mail questionnaire, Individual Curriculum Orientation Profile(ICOP) was used to survey randomly selected 525 home economics teachers. Home economics teachers agreed with the cognitive process as their predominant curriculum orientation. The second predominant type with which home economics teachers agreed most was personal relevance orientation. Home economics teachers age, major, college type, and teaching years were significantly related to their curriculum orientation. Age and number of teaching years were significantly related to the academic rationalism curriculum orientation, and the college type for bachelor's degree was significantly related to the technical curriculum orientation. Age and major in master's degree was significantly related to the social reconstruction curriculum orientation.
